Why Not Soar Your Majesty is the English name for this novel, for my reference.
I came across this book and was intrigued because it falls in the "getting married in-game and then falling in love in person" genre which I've discovered a love for over the last year. There aren't many books in this genre, so I was pretty excited to try it out, only to find myself disappointed by the end. The main couple start off on the wrong foot by trying to out disgust each other, and some of the things they mentioned were quite offensive. There were multiple mentions of the MC, Tang Xiao, eating poop, and I'm just like whyyyyyy.
I also didn't like whatever game they were playing (I believe it's one the author made up), as somehow it's completely okay to kill other characters over and over again, and the most you get punished is being sent to an in-game jail if you kill someone in a safety zone. I can't count how many times everyone ganged up on TX and killed her character, even the others in her guild and the ML, Mu Cheng. It definitely took away from my enjoyment of the book.
It's a shame because (and I didn't realize this before starting) there's also some c-ent elements thrown in, as both the MC and ML are both part of that world. I also love a good c-ent story, and while I enjoyed that part of the story, I couldn't fully get into it because what TX and gang said and did... I almost dropped it a couple chapters in, but only the translator's promise that it got better after chapter 15 when they start interacting in person kept me going.
A lot of what happens in the story seemed pretty unrealistic too. How can TX call herself an entertainer but have no work lined up and spend all her time playing games? And similarly for Mu Cheng, as a very famous and well established idol, how does he have so much time to play games as well? None of it makes any sense...
