Daisy McDare's vacation plans go awry when a washed up rock star turns up dead and the local detective thinks Daisy's cousin Addison is the killer.
Daisy arms herself with cupcakes, one-liners, and plenty of spunk to find the killer before her cousin goes to jail for a crime she didn't commit.
I ended up reading the entire group pf stories. But if I had just had the one and not the series I would have stoped with the one. I got the series via Kindle Unlimited I and I hate to not finish a book I start. The characters are cardboard cutouts with very little character development. The stories are all the same story with just slight changes. The murder happens, suspects are questioned and as fate would have it someone says something that triggers an ah ha moment and the killer in discovered. That's it.
This book set gives you the beginning of Daisy McDare and her group of characters as they find themselves solving crimes that happen around them. These are clean cozy stories that anyone can enjoy without the worry of bad language, gory scenes, and sex. They are fun reads. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this boxset.
This is what fiction is all about! Interesting sleuthing, a caricature of a police detective, nascent romance, and sweets! Loved it! I've read all of the Cozy Cove books separately, but it's kind of nice not to have to hunt for which comes next in chronology. Not that it's a critical issue as the stories can easily stand alone, but they are addictive!
It is always fun to read an entire series one after another. When you get hooked it is difficult to have to wait for the next book to be published. Thank you for a good read.
Good clean light mysteries. Love the way poor Daisy always inadvertently stumbles over the victims making her almost jumpy. She recovers as she finds the culprit with the help of her friend the detective.
