Dangerous forces are at work across galactic space that the Omnians are attempting to stabilize, but their resources are severely strained.

The SADEs, self-aware digital entities, express to Alex Racine and Renée de Guirnon their desire to know the method of their creation. Alex and Renée, the Omnian co-leaders, want to obtain the knowledge for the SADEs, who are humans’ closest allies.

Alex, Renée, and Julien, a friend and a SADE, board the giant city-ship, Freedom, which sails for Méridien, the home world of the far-reaching human colonies of the Confederation. They have a long overdue appointment with House Brixton, the Méridien group responsible for creating the SADEs. However, Shannon Brixton, the House Leader, is expected to zealously guard the secrets of the SADEs’ origination.

While at Méridien, Alex receives an urgent message requesting help in alliance space, where a small group of Omnians and Earthers battle the Colony, a race of insectoids, which is subsuming planets.

To complicate matters, a rogue battleship fleet left the federacy, bypassed the human colonies, and is searching among the alliance worlds for a habitable planet. If an unoccupied world isn’t found, they’re prepared to evict the inhabitants by force.

In the wake of Alex’s exit from Omnia for alliance space, Hector is left in charge of the Omnians’ second fleet. The SADE temporarily carries the mantle of protector of human colonies and allied worlds.

For the Omnians, life and its challenges couldn’t be more precarious, or could they?

From my early years to the present, books have been a refuge. They’ve fueled my imagination. I’ve traveled to faraway places and met aliens with Asimov, Heinlein, Clarke, Herbert, and Le Guin. I’ve explored historical events with Michener and Clavell, and I played spy with Ludlum and Fleming.

There’s no doubt that the early sci-fi masters influenced the writing of my first two series, The Silver Ships and Pyreans. I crafted my stories to give readers intimate views of my characters, who wrestle with the challenges of living in space and inhabiting alien worlds.

Life is rarely easy for these characters, who encounter aliens and calamities, but they persist and flourish. I revel in examining humankind’s will to survive. Not everyone plays fair or exhibits concern for other beings, but that’s another aspect of humans and aliens that I investigate.

My stories offer hope for humans today about what they might accomplish tomorrow far from our home world. Throughout my books, humans exhibit a will to persevere, without detriment to the vast majority of others.

Readers have been generous with their comments, which they’ve left on Amazon and Goodreads for others to review. I truly enjoy what I do, and I’m pleased to read how my stories have positively affected many readers’ lives.

If you’ve read my books, please consider posting a review on Amazon and Goodreads for every book, even a short one. Reviews attract other readers and are a great help to indie authors, such as me.

The Silver Ships novels have reached Amazon’s coveted #1 and #2 Best-Selling Sci-Fi book, multiple times, in the science fiction categories of first contact, space opera, and alien invasion.

I have to admit that the Silver Ship series is my favorite sci-fi series. I cannot wait for a new book to be released.

The book is well written and I am always amazed at Jucha’ s imagination. In this book we have three major story lines intertwining. Alex and the SADEs are in negotiations with the House of Brixton for the SADEs to be able to create themselves. Alex and fleet are searching for a fleet that escaped a world that had been controlled by Artifice; they are hunting for a world to move to. Jeff Cinders and the veterans, along with the SADEs, are fighting the Insect Colony trying to gain control of the Gate Domes. This only barely highlights what is going on it this story. Overall, an exciting read.

I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. Susanna Burney does a okay job narrating the book. Burney is an actress and voice-over artist as well as an audiobook narrator. Every book in this series until this book was narrated by Grover Gardner. Please bring him back.

I love this series, and the continuation in this one was more than I had hoped for! The author brings back a storyline I thought had been forgotten, keeps the situations faced by his characters fresh and exciting, and reveals part of a secret we've been dying to know since the beginning! My only regret is reading it so fast and now having to wait for the next one!

Yet another win

Each time I see a new S.H. Jucha book I stop what I'm doing and read straight through. I can't get enough of the Silver Ships series! This newest chapter did not disappoint in the least!

It's not bad, it's just more of the same. A lot of actions are described that are not needed which started to get me out of the story. Our glorious Omnian leader is starting to become more of a messiah to the poor galaxy which is just stuck in their old ways of being stupid, holding on to vestigial bureaucracy that holds no meaning anymore and hinders everyone from doing what is right. And what is right is the vision of the giant leader of the man Alex Racine who just sees so far into the future and can't be held back by the current stale status quo. Our protagonist ever wrong? Have a real character flaw that makes them human? Nah, they just have cute flaws, like 'they work too hard, 'they are too honest', 'they are too competent for their own good', etc.

Enjoyable addition to the series. I’m not sure why the title is SADEs - a heckuva lot of the story is about fighting the Colony insectoids and dealing with the battleships from the federation that want to conquer a planet, where the SADEs aren’t the point of view characters. We see more of Jess, the descendant of the Jess from the Pyreans series, as well as Alex etc.

This was an enjoyable read that occasionally looked like it was going to get really interesting, but it never quite did. That’s not to say it wasn’t worth reading, as there were quite a few things happening, but I just kept hoping for something more.

Well, it looks like I missed a book in this series! Book 14, “Alliance”, some how got past me. I haven’t downloaded it and now I’m not sure that I will. This current book covers some of the things that happened in “Alliance”, but not everything, of course. I didn’t feel that I lost much by not having read the missing book. I did miss some stuff by not reading the “Pyreans” series also by Mr. Jucha. For some reason, that series didn’t appeal to me although without Alex, I didn’t feel it would be a good story line to read. Of course, that’s just me so you might be interested in that series and I encourage you to read it.

Although this book is titled, “SADEs”, you’d think it was all about them. Well it’s not! Some of the early book does center around how the SADEs came into being. They were created by one specific House on Mériden, capital city of the Confederation. Sharon Brixton was the current head of the house and she didn’t appear to want to give away any secrets that might put her House in competition with the Omnians. All the SADEs were curious about how they had come to be, but none of them could figure out just how they were constructed or how they got their initial intelligence. it was something done soley by the House of Brixton, but if they SADEs were to survive as a community, they would have to be incharge of creating more of their kind. So off to Méridien they went with Alex at the lead.

At the same time, the expedition lead by Olawale Wombo has met with some troubling information and some difficulties. The story of this expedition is covered in the series, “Pyreans” which I mentioned about that I didn’t read. Anyway, Alex feels that it’s time to go to Olawale’s location and see what assistance he can provide. Here is where the rest of the story takes off. Surprisingly, this is also most of the book. The part about the SADEs creation doesn’t take up much of the entire story so I’m not sure why this book was titled as it is.

You’ll find that once again, the Omnians find more enemies. How they handle each one is unique. It seems that Alex would always rather talk and settle things peacefully, but if that doesn’t work, then his substantial fleet is read to engage anyone. You’ll find out that he and his friends have to take both approaches to the enemies encounted in this book.

Another great book by Mr. Jucha. I’m not sure how much longe this series can continue, but I do know there is anotheer book entitled, “Earthers”, show as the next book in this series. That should be exciting as are all the other books.

I was shocked to start audio book 15 of the Silver Ships novel and to not hear Grover Gardner.

After a little research I found out (From the authors web page) that Grover Gardner is no longer available to record the Silver Ships books and they are now handled by Susanna Burney. My limited understanding with audio book production is that authors can listen to narrators before they approve them for their book. Why then, Mr. Jucha approved Susanna Burney for this task is beyond me.

The narrator has large shoes to fill, and seems to want to bring her own interpretation to the books, and that's fine. However, it doesn't seem that she listened to any of the previous books, as her pronunciation is off, a fair bit.

I gave this book 2 stars mainly for the audio book narrator. My only complaint with the story is there is too many characters. Silver Ships novels tend towards a few antagonists and a familiar team of protagonists, maybe with 1 or 2 thrown in. This had really only 1 antagonist and a few too many protagonists.

The issue with this, is mainly because of poor narration. The narrator, Susanna Burney, does almost no differentiation between characters. It's already jarring to hear all of our main characters with different voices, but then add that they have the same voice and it becomes hard to follow, at times. The novels also seem to be grooming Jess to be the new Alex, and while that may be a good thing in the long run, he needs to have a significant character arc before he would be worth carrying the series on his shoulders.

So, the story is good. It is standard Silver Ships fare. It ticks all the boxes I've come to expect from these novels and keeps me coming back for more. I was very, very disappointing with the narrator. The narrator from the Pyreans series, Nicole Poole, would have been an obvious choice. She did a fantastic job. Her characters were all different, she did male and female voices well, she had a good rhythm, she would have been a perfect fit to replace Grover Gardner. Unfortunately, we got a narrator that didn't, differentiate voices, didn't do male/female voices, changed pronunciations, and generally didn't treat the series with the respect it deserved. This is why I gave this audio book 2 stars.

Another good book. I enjoyed it and it was along the same lines as previous books. But one thing kinda shocked me. The Omnian ships left Earth seeking the third Explorer ship that departed Earth, the Belle. But, when the Omnians found people from Pyre who were the descendants of the people on the Belle, they didn't make any effort to go to Pyre and meet the humans first hand. They were so consumed with the war against the Colony that they did not even take time to find out about the Belle and its descendants. I would have thought that a couple Sade's would have gone to Pyre to record the history of the planet for people back on Earth and Alex.

I did not understand why this book was called SADE's as I did not read any significant acts they performed that were different from their roles in previous books. I was expecting something earthshaking from the Sade's. And once again, as this is the 15th book in this series I found it difficult at times to remember who was human, Sade, or alien and what planet and species they were. I guess that's why there is a 4 or 5 page directory in the back of the book. I wish I could have had this printed to refer to as I read.

I look forward to the next book. Maybe it will address my concern about meeting the Pyreians and other issues.

Miss leading title, series direction changing from central characters.

You would think that this book was all about the SADES but it is not the title is misleading.
They have a small part in the beginning of the book, but then the book goes off on a tangent concerning the colony war. It seems like Alex and Company or taking a backseat roll in The story. Not sure if I well enjoy the directions this series is going. Yes the storyline is still well written, I’ve enjoyed Alex and his eclectic band of companions and myself personally would prefer the story to remain centered on them. I read the series because of those characters, if I want to read about additional or other characters I would get another series to read. As I proceed through the series I see the reviews dropped off considerably I wonder why? Will give the series a break for now. Maybe I will go back to it.

Annoying Text to Speech!

I have really enjoyed your story. Have read all of the Silver Ships. I have a disability which limits the time I can hold the Kindle so I use Text to Speech often. Most annoying that you use < and > symbols so frequently. Text to Speech reads them as "greater than" and "less than". Can the books be coded to be silent on these symbols? We get it they communicate through their implants. Or use a symbolic is already ignored by Text to Speech! Otherwise have really enjoyed the plot and characters. Thanks.

I need my next fix

Alas, I have to concede to suffer from a terminal addiction to the series, I just can't get enough, always on the lookout for Alex Racine's next adventure, wondering what the next rabbit Mister Jucha will pull out of his hat will look like, what Alex's next brillant move will be. In short, a master of sci-fi at work, planting the seeds for what seems to look like a gargantuesque apotheosis somewhere in the future, I for one remain vigilant, definitely not intending to miss this.

A sentient race of insects has become the scourge of the civilized worlds, devastating everything in its path. Alex Racine and his entourage, including sentient beings from Dischyna and Crocia, work to remove the insectoids, known as the Colony, from the world of Pimbor. A collection of Federacy warships adds to the complexity of the situation. With help from his SADEs (Self Aware Digital Entities, think Commander Data of StarTrek) Alex deploys his forces to try and avert long term disaster.

I love this series!

This is such an excellent Sci-Fi series I read straight through the books and find myself bereft because I have to wait for the next book, lol, The characters are exceptionally well developed. The very best books take you on an emotional journey and without a doubt the Silver Ships do that. If you like Science Fiction I would encourage you to take this journey.

As Alex arrives the scale and scope become almost unmanageable, as a complex web of competing pressures threatens to tax even the Omnian's unrealistic wealth of resources. Keeping track of the multitude of characters becomes almost insurmountable and as the book concludes we're treated to an increasingly common rapid-fire concluding chapter that smacks of the author hitting a word count.

That said, it continues to be an enjoyable distraction.

Alex and Renee and Julian continue to overcome all problems that they encounter.

These problems have expanded to new worlds and alien groups. Jess and the Earthers are now part of the family. Protecting the entire galaxy is their next step. SADES provide the data and details for Alex's plans. The best answer begins with respect for all life.

An incredible series!

Scott Jucha has created an incredible series of books that takes the reader on an amazing journey. The character development is top notch and with each book in the series the reader becomes immersed in the personal stories of each of the characters and the overall adventures depicted. I cannot wait for the next one to arrive!

Having read all 15 of the Silver Ships books, I found this episode to be especially entertaining. If Jucha will continue writing I will continue reading. These books are incredibly imaginative and very readable. I recommend them to you. I hope their life enhancing serum injections keep them all living another 100 years!

Another great episode

This episode involves Alex Rafine’s group with the Pyrian descendants of the colony ship Honora Belle and the alliance combating the insectoids and remnants of the Federacy. It is action packed space warfare and strategy, alien and human interactions and personalities with serious and humorous activities. It will hold your interest.

Alex becomes Hitler

A tremendously disappointing novel in a great series. Alex uses threats and intimidation to steal the intellectual property of another just because he wants it. The "mighty" have succumbed to exploiting their personal power for their own goals. Very disappointing.
