I read the blurb and it seemed quite unique, so I picked the book. It turned out so different and unique. I will briefly summarise the blurb and avoid spoilers. As you can predict from title, the suspicion is the core emotion or concept of the book. Duryodhan is a lawyer by profession. He is a middle aged man and have a son also that is in his teenage life and he had a hidden talent. Duryodhan suspects that his wife is having an affair with someone. She is cheating him and so he planned to take her life. He contacted a snake handler and he planned to place a poisonous snake into her bed and kill her but the twist in the story is that his son can communicate with snakes and police arrests him. Read the book to unfold further plot. As I said earlier, I loved the concept, the plot and especially the supernatural or fictional touch to the story. I liked how the suspense have been created. The language of the book is lucid so that everyone can enjoy reading it. I liked the narration style of the author. It’s simple yet beautifully presented. It’s a good pickup for beginners. Story moves at faster pace and written to the point. Overall good and quick read.

Curse of Suspicion
A murder A crime,Its mysteries becomes more special and interesting when it is penned by a fine lawyer. The mystery revolves around a murder of a woman who dies because of a vague Suspicion of her husband.
The characterisation is nicely executed author has experimented with various elements and he has been successful in creating a wonderful mysterious title Curse of suspicion which is understood by the reader upon reading second half of the book. However it could have been more suspenseful But The way author has build up the conclusion and a perfect picture of how such atrocious cases happens in our society, with an exposure of recurring Court sessions shall get you enthralled.

Curse of Suspicion is a mystery/thriller book based on Duryodhana's wife suspecting adultery.
The plot starts off with insecurity and doubt and this becomes the centre of the plot.
The book is full of drama and is written from many different point of views which made the plot better.
The plot is written with an easy language but was obvious. It lacked freshness.
The genre is very interesting and this book is for all the new people reading this genre.

CURSE OF SUSPICION..

Suspicion..doubt or cautious distrust is a Curse..the wise or those who have experienced it would know.

Why does SuSpiCiOn arise❓
It arises because of FEAR..
FEAR of being taken advantage of..

FEAR of physical harm..

FEAR of being put in a disadvantageous position..

FEAR of being hurt financially, emotionally or physically...

FEAR of insecurity..

FEAR of loss – control, territory, possessions...

FEAR of betrayal...

✍️In this story, which 'fear' causes suspicion or was it an amalgamation of all these fears..how this suspicion becomes a curse..you need to read the book for that.

🖤 Suspicion, however grave, cannot take the place of proof. It is such a poisonous feed that it lands up ultimately killing and destroying oneself.

👨🏻‍💼 The author, Dr. Sunday Kantawala is a well known advocate.

Other books by the same author

1. Love knows no boundaries

2. Three coffee tables books on poetry: “Thoughts”,

“More Thoughts” and “Thoughts Flow on”

🙋🏻‍♀️ My take:
We all know..there's nothing in the world that can trouble us more than own own thoughts..
That forms the crux of the story.

Genre: fiction
32 chapters clubbed in 266 pages..published by Leadstart Corp in Jan.2020, this book is fresh off d stands!

There are 3 main characters, Satyajeet, Vasudha and their 14year old son Duryodhan. In their relationship, there suspicion, jealousy, financial dependency..

why and how her (Vasudha's) life was mired with suspicion leading to a strained relationship with her overshadowing husband..

there is regret, guilt and loneliness..

There are snakes..too..and use of vernacular language is there.

The Narration and writing style is pretty simple but good.

I found the book full of lessons and I underlined wise words or lines all throughout the book.. The ending is perfect. I put down the book with a heavy heart.

The last page carries a poem for an epilogue which is again so soulful and talking about lessons learnt in life.

A good, engrossing and a quick read. You can pick it for INR 209/- paperback or INR 149/- kindle @amazondotin

Thankyou @leadstartcorp for the review copy.

#qotd Do you learn from mistakes/ experiences of others or do you prefer failing and falling yourself❓

📖Here's the #blurb for the story synopsis..
Duryodhana, a middle aged lawyer, suspects his wife of cheating and wants to kill her. So he employs a snake handler to place a venomous snake in his wife's bed. But the cops arrest his teenaged son who can communicate with snakes. Will the son carry the blame for his father's crime or go scot free?..

The cover is interesting depicting, a blood clad dagger, a blindfolded woman, scales with blood drops weighing heavier, a boy who is running and loads of snake scales.

Well, what can I say about this book, I've got contradictory emotions while reading this story. At some point, I decided to say who is wrong and who is right but then failed to do so.

A husband lost his wife just based on his false suspicion, a father is trying to restore the faith and bond that he snatched from him is finding difficulty. It wasn't easy for Satyajit to forget everything to stay with his father forever.

The story will realize you so strongly that you have been watching until you fall off. Your deeds have been recorded so well to payback. It also states that not every grown-up knows how to fix things right. The one who showed you mercy can become merciless and vise-versa.

Although the story holds thrill and suspense very little the circumstances and events that had infused in the story felt like vivid visualization especially the REMAND SESSION AND COURT SESSION. The story shows to be a good healthy family, how important it is to understand each other well even in the worst situation. I also agree partially that Satyajeet's merciless behavior was certain toward his father. I think that's how the curse of suspicion passed through from father to son. The best part of the story that I like was, I was least expecting that Duryodhan would take a certain fair decision before biding bye.

I would say this story will let you think about how good and bad you are toward your family? Do you talk to the one who you have issues or wanted to maintain distance with them? I just can't say anything at the moment. It is all certain prompt actions and decisions that take place in the family. Every family is different and so their situations. All we need is understanding and listening to each other with observing. Here I don't wanna put the word trust coz this is rare now.

The language used is simple but felt like narration was bit lost the engagement. It is a lite thriller and less suspension because at first attempt the real mastermind declares his victim with the hint. So this book is good for the beginner who can enjoy just at one sitting perhaps two sittings.

Curse of suspicion truly has a lot to speak in a fictional sort of way.
The story starts with a highly reputed Lawyer based in Mumbai having a suspicion on his wife because of the DNA reports proving that their son was not actually his own son.
Duryodhan who killed his wife Vasudha by planning a murder in a way in which he never got caught, blammed the murder on his son because he was in a view that his son Satyajeet wasn't really his one as the DNA didn't matched.
Instead of sorting out things or knowing some medical facts, duryodhan took the decision of killing his wife because of his anger and that led to the biggest changes in his life as his relationship with his son went on a crack and he became a lonely man in his life.
The storyline of this book is really good however I felt a little injustice done to this story because the timeline wasn't proper which I felt.
However, the language of the writer is good but the narration feels a bit of a stiff thing without emotions in it.
This story was a bit different from the rest of the murder mysteries and also had a tinge of Harry potter fantasy mixed of talking with snakes.
I found that there were still too many holes in this story which could have been filled up and made the story better.

A crime thriller, Curse of Suspicion, has a lot more to offer than just the thrill part. It has a philosophical touch, the philosophy of life, a strong message that whatever you achieve in life by good or ill means become worthless when you have no one with you to celebrate your success. It’s too easy to fall pray to suspicion and insecurities and sometimes you end up paying a heavy price for it.
Duryodhan, a top lawyer, suspects that his wife was cheating on him. He hatched a plan to kill her and succeeded in that. But in the process he not only lost his wife but also his only son only to discover later that all his doubts about her wife were off base.
The plot is not very fresh but a strong narration has pulled off the story very well. I somehow don’t agree with the cover choice as in legal sense the justice is not done though Duryodhan got his fair share of punishment otherwise. The title, however, is apt for the story.
The language is good and lucid. The story flows smoothly but looked dragged towards the end. Certain subplots, I feel, were not explored well.
Characters of Jeet and Duryodhan developed well with the story.
Overall the book is a gripping read and keep you engaged throughout.

The story revolves around a completely planned murder of Vasudha, wife of a renowned lawyer Duryodhana. And for the one wrong step, everything will go upside down.

So, doubts are, why did he kill Vasudha? What was the plan? How did impacts work? Grab the book to know the complete story.

Plot is interesting and unique. Story plays very well with multiple chsracters like, Duryodhana, Vasudha, kamini, Satyajeet and so on. Though characters are defined finely but I personally thought characters could be developed well.

Writing style is well and very lucid. Its very easy to understand, thats why its a very fast paced read for me. But I felt narration could be better. And storylines are grippy and engaging.

Authors work and effort is appreciating indeed. I really like the twists. Ya! There are a lots of up and down made the story more interesting. I will recommend this book to them who wants a fresh reading with a touch of suspense and thrill.

Some stories really astound me a lot and plot of ' curse of suspicion ' is undoubtedly one of them. Cover is very interesting as the title is. Overall a fine book for all.

A brilliant blend of crime and family drama, Curse of Suspicion is a very refreshing read!

The protagonist of the story Duryodhana, is an advocate and has a very critical suspicious mind. His one small suspicion will change the lives of him and his family.

He suspects that his wife is having an affair and therefore plans to kill her. He hires a man to keep a venomous snake in her bed. But the real story starts here!! The ups and downs that follow are amazing! They keep us on the very edge till the end.
Their son Satyajeet can speak to snakes (which gave me major Harry Potter vibes😍), so the cops arrest him thinking he is guilty!
Will he take blame for his father's crime?

Language is very simple and narrations are gripping!
Cover of the book is gorgeous too!!
Definitely recommended it!

If you want to go for an drama in crime thriller, go for this. The book, as told in the blurb very cleary, explores the death of Duryodhan's wife which has been plotted by him. The book is more about Duryodhan's Curse of Suspicion as the title itself says. How does Duryodhan plan the murder, how it takes place, why does he plan it and what happens after his son is arrested? What does his curse of suspicion lead to? Read the book to find out.
The story in interesting in the first half. The book has been written from multiple point of views at times. There are lots of characters in the book which means there are lots of names as well. At times, the writing and the plot gave me chills. The storyline could've been developed in a better way. The number of characters could've limited. The ending of the story does some justice to the murder but it seems abrupt. The plot seemed engaging.

The book follows the journey of Duryodhan, a renowned lawyer who had a good name in the society. But not everyone who appears to be good from outside is good from inside. He had his own flaws and often suspected of his wife of having an affair. When it was revealed to him that his son Satyajeet wasn't really his one as the DNA didn't matched, he decided on killing his wife.

The story further follows how Duryodhan plans to kill his wife and how his relationship with his son cracks up.

I found the story not too intriguing. The element of fantasy ( the son was able to talk to the snakes ) was a bit out of context. The plot wasn't developed properly and the climax was flat. The language is easy & understandable. The narration is a bit too slow & boring at some parts. This book is good for the beginners who want to experiment with this genre.

A crime thriller with a good suspense base this was a gripping take for sure.
Plot is woven thoughtfully though has some flaws like at few places I felt the narration could have been kept bit faster but that's just my person preference.
Language is simple yet has ability to capture readers mind into this twistful read. Flows smoothly .
Altogether if you like mystery thriller books give it a try.

Curse of suspicion by Dr. Sujay Kantawala is a murder mystery thriller, whose protagonist is Duryodhan. His wife's name is Vasudha who has been murdered. Their son is Satyajeet. The story revolves around finding who is the murderer.

The starting few chapters of the story are very boring to read. The writing style is quite normal as it gets quite confusing in the middle section to understand what is exactly going on in the story. However, the title of the book is very catchy.

I personally did not enjoying reading this book that much. Being a fictional murder mystery, the story could have definitely been much better. The scenes in between could have been arranged better so there would not have been any scope of confusion.

Murder mystery, 'Curse of Suspicion' is a story of Duryodhan who surmises his wife to be unfaithful towards him and involved in adultery. So he smartly plans her murder. And the task of Vasudha's murder is allocated to a snake handler who placed the venomous snake on her bed. After that, an investigation is started on the request of Vasudha's brother. But as an outcome of the investigation, Duryodhana's son is charged for the crime he never committed.
Does Duryodhan realize his mistake?
Who will save Satyajeet?
Will the real culprit be arrested?
To get the answers please read this book.

The theme of the story is suspicion. We all know what a suspicion can do. A minor qualm can make someone a criminal.
It is human nature to suspect even without discovering the truth and take fierce action on the basis of suspicion.
And that's what Duryodhan did.
The story is clutching but is also incoherent because of its narration. The first half of the story is fascinating and full of drama but I found the second half a little bit boring. Even the climax didn't amaze me. And there are few loopholes. There were a few things which are hard to digest one such thing is that Jeet corresponding with snakes. I mean do such things really happen?
Lady Justice, snake scale and a boy are what we can see in the cover which completely relates to the plot.
The title also perfectly goes with the theme of the book.
I like the way how the author has explain juvenile law which demonstrates his professional knowledge.
Overall it is a one time read.

If everybody likes you, there maybe a problem! The absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. Absorb everything!

Nothing in this world belongs to us. Even the air we inhale & exhale. Since there's no cure for birth & death, we might as well enjoy the interval between them. Sadly this is realised by most of us, towards the end only.

You've never really lived until you've done something for someone who can never repay you. The ultimate choice for a man, is a choice to transcend himself to create, destroy, love or hate in as, much as he's given.

This book is a fervent culmination of a suspense thriller package. It's a pavilion of sorts which combines every aspect which is required to pen down a perfect novel. The right amount of humour, research, murder, mystery, thriller, detection, spy, consortium, conspiracy, lust, happiness, love, joy, betrayal, deceit, doubt, good deeds, bad deeds, crime, sin, suspicion & most importantly karma. It book teaches us that no matter what profession one may belong to, one must never resort to any unfair means or commit any sin. Because you may escape the trial of man-made law & order, rules & regulations set for humans to behave just in our society. However, you'll never escape the repercussions of your life shadows, precisely what we term as karma, since when it bites back it does so very harshly.

It also teaches us the importance of mankind & how good deeds bear good fruits/results in the end. And also that God is watching above us all. So it's necessary for us to believe that we have the willingness to make things right by choosing the right thing & also walking on the path of righteousness set up by our ancestors.

The most interesting aspect of the book is that it doesn't have much gory or visual effects or violence or sex or adult content which maybe termed as unfit/inappropriate for teenagers. Hence, it makes it possible for any reader to pick up & read it. The easy way of storytelling along with seasoned vocabulary makes it seemingly possible to get used to it very quickly & readers may find it difficult to put down. So they'll finish it pretty easily.

The story revolves around a top hotshot lawyer Duryodhan who's involved in the murder of his own wife via a snake using a tribal snakecharmer from a small village. He uses his power to bend facts according to his will & escapes enough to put his teenage minor son Satyajeet behind the bars. Jeet has this Uncanny ability to communicate with snakes which makes him the primary suspect in all of this ordeal. All of this just due to a suspicion based on complete misunderstanding of Duryodhan accompanied by a mountain of ego set up by power, money, lust & politics. Though things turn out to be very difficult in the end. But, life has it's own way to deal with monsters & hence, justice though delayed is served rightfully accordingly in the end.

Characterisation is good. Narration is good. Plot is well-built. Synchronisation is well achieved. Writing style is good accompanied with a good command over vocabulary. Storyline is also beautiful. Pace is well balanced. Storytelling is smooth. Overall, a good unbiased attempt to write a fiction mystery story blended with suspense thriller. A good one-time read worth recommending to all the readers who love murder crime related novels!

“Suspicion, however, grave cannot take place of proof. It is such a poisonous feed that it lands up ultimately killing and destroying oneself.”

As the title suggests, Curse of Suspicion basically inscribes a story based on suspicion followed by crime. Duryodhana, a middle aged lawyer, suspects his wife of cheating and wants to kill her. So he employs a snake handler to place a venomous snake in his wife's bed. But the cops arrest his teenaged son who can communicate with snakes. Will the son carry the blame for his father's crime or go scot free?

The plot definitely is capable enough to demonstrate it’s reader how suspicion is the greatest enemy of love whether it is true or not. Distrust is like a vicious fire that keeps going and going and even put out, it will reignite itself, devouring the good with the bad, and still feeding on empty.

Sometimes we just wanna pick a book based on its title and cover. The cover of the book looks intriguing. Being a crime thriller fanatic, the title seemed so enthralling to me that it just pumped my curiosity to explore the plot but flipping through the pages, I felt that the author didn’t do justice to the book as he could add a lot more thrill to his plot.

Though the language was lucid but I felt the author could have made the blurb little more captivating.

Digging deep into the story, I felt that though the story was interesting but the narration has a lot to improve. I also liked the theme of the plot but sadly, the story seemed complete in first few chapters itself and the second half of the book was unnecessarily dragged that only displayed the drama that took place post murder. Not just this, there were short sub plots as well which the author could have explored in a better way.

Talking about the characters of the book, there were a lot of characters all throughout the plot which is why; it became difficult for me to remember all of their names. But TBH, I was quite annoyed with few of the characters, especially Duryodhan and Sudarshan due to their selfishness. Even the character of the young boy Satyajeet, didn’t deserve any sympathies for what he have done in the end.

the most disappointing part for me was the climax as it ended flat with just a piece of advice. I feel the author could have used few twists and turns to make his story a fascinating one.

My rating : 3/5

The suspicious mind believes more than it doubts. It believes in a formidable and ineradicable evil lurking in every person. -Eric Hoffer⠀
. ⠀
#qotd: Do you know the name of goddess of justice? ( answer honestly. Don't google) ⠀
. ⠀
Suspicion is basically a hidden human nature element which can be found everywhere. This drives a person so dolorously that it can't be demolish until the particular one get satisfied. But sometimes it's effect is so strong that it can drive a person to take life of another. ⠀
Same situation we can relate with Duryodhan & Vasudha. As their relationship been good in their earlier days of marriage, Duryodhan feels that Vasudha cheated him & have illegitimate relations with other man. Due to this doubt he opt for a DNA test of his family stealthy & his surmise changes into belive that she cheated him. So this drives him to retaliation & results in the murder of Vasudha in a mysterious manner. Coincidentally his son jeet become victim of her mother's murder who suffers sultry life is reformatory. This generates an abomination in Jeet for his father, leads to dislike & shaping Jeet as a self standing person. ⠀
Despite all this accident when Duryodhan found out that whole his predictions about Vasudha are wrong when further inspection of DNA report, he regret his wrongs & have to correct the missed he done.⠀
.⠀
I like the way author unfolds the impacts of suspicious nature. Categorically it is a deep work of understanding of life & role of misdeeds due to suspicion. How a little suspicion leads to hazardous future & can ruin many lives at a time. The culprit repents itself but it's impact can be experienced around their surroundings. ⠀
It is not a crime story, not a thriller & not a hardcore judicial type book as it's cover represents. This book is indeed follows it's title/ name veridically. Despite some unworthy events the events in this book are interesting at some points. I have some disliking facts also but it's good. Good to be read for enjoyment. Because I am not putting this book into a must read type.⠀
So this is my review about this book giving 3🌟 only for its purpose.

BLURB-
Duryodhan, is a lawyer and suspects his wife of cheating while he himself is in an extra marital affairs. (Hypocritic much)
So, he plans to kill his wife instead of just divorce, because the house is in his wife's name.
(My question being how come such a reputed lawyer not earn enough to buy his own house)
After his wife's death, to be off the hook, he accuses his son and lets him suffer for his deeds.
(Role model of a screwed up father)
Read why did he do so, and how does his son take the blame.
OPINION-
The title is perfectly suited to the story. Half way through the book, I understood what the author meant by Curse of Suspicion. The cover is also perfect for the story. The blindfolded lady of justice and the snake scales.
There are alot of characters in the story, although the story is based roughly on Duryodhan, his wife, his girlfriend Kamini and his son. The inclusion of so many extra characters made the starting of the story very confusing but I got the hang of it in a while. The leads are well sketched specially Satyajit who has all the complex emotions of a child whose mother is dead and he feels unloved and abandoned by everyone else in the world.
The plot of the story is simple, yet has small key elements which makes the story engaging and gripping.
The language is colloquial, using Gujarati and Marathi tones whenever necessary adding an Indian touch to the story.
The only unrealistic element of the story was how Satyajit could talk to snakes and also see ghosts which sounds intriguing and mysterious but had no explanation behind it. Like Harry Potter could speak parseltongue because a part of Voldemort was in him.
The descriptions of how tue Juvenile law and justice works was eye opening. Juvenile crimes are a rising issue today and the story also throws some light on how these kids are often mistreated.
The narration was okay, making it a good one time read. I loved the climax but didn't was I amazed by it? No, I was not.
There was alot of drama and suspense happening all throughout the story which kept me hooked to the story making it a fairly short read.

Book Review : Curse Of Suspicion
Author : Dr. Sujay Kantawala
Publisher : Leadstart Publishing Pvt Limited
Pages : 266
Rating : 5/5 stars
Cover : 5/5 stars

About the book :
A gripping tale titled " Curse Of Suspicion" where the word Suspicion means distrust or something which we cannot trust.
So, The whole story will give the effect of suspicion. There is mystery, thriller, drama and more to explore. This is a complete tale where we get to experience a lot more than one can imagine.
The story is about Duryodhana, who is a middle age lawyer. The whole story revovles around him which is really filled with mystery as a lawyers life only deals with solving cases.
Now, comming to what we see is that he thought his wife was cheating on him so he went to plan a murder. Now what we all will explore is lots and lots of suspicion as the whole story revovles around it.
There is too much to explore through what happens.
I was really filled with joy as I opened new chapter as each chapter was having something new instored for the reader's. I was truly shocked to find that how much intense can someone go to kill his wife. It's just an amalgamation of many genre's. Having read the book I could totally apprehend how much efforts the author has made to make the plot successful as Writing such a story on advocate and law requires alot of research and analysis which was really well written. I am filled with emmense joy to read something Fiction as now I was able to realte the practical aspects of law.
I am in short of words to describe about the book.
How the court hearing take's place?
How the application gets dismissed?
How the lawyers argue in the court ?
How difficult is it for a lawyer to get justice?
These all were there in the book with the plot.
Really, remarkable job !!
Cheers to the author.
Proud of you sir.

🌀review : this book has been written in Multiple ways Where the story swirls upon Satyajit Who’s left to blight in a remand home after his mother dies and he accused guilty of her murder . 📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚
.
CURSE OF SUSPICION by Dr. Sujay Kantawala
.
📚 MY REVIEW:
.
The cover of the book is very interesting. Its mysterious. It shows that this story has something or the other related to crime. A Crime Thriller. It feels very interesting by the cover. The Title is also very mysterious and I absolutely loved the cover and the title of the book. The title and cover is very attractive and very different.
.
Coming on to the plot of the book. The plot id the book is as interesting as it's cover. The story seems so different and unique. The story revolves around Duryodhana who is a middle aged man. He is a Lawyer. He suspects his wife of cheating and so he wants to kill her. To kill his wife, he employs a snake handler to place a venomous snake in his wife's bed. The story takes the turn when we get to know that the police arrests The Son, because he was capable to communicate with the snakes.
.
The story, therefore is very interesting and very gripping. The book has the power to attract the readers. Its a very refreshing read. Various human emotions are very well captured by the author, which is so good. The story is a mixture of Crime and Drama and the story is being told by multiple perspective. The language is easy and understandable. It can be easily read by beginners.
.
The climax was not that Thrilling which we were expecting but it's fabulous. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to the people who are beginners and the one who wants to explore this genra. Apart from all these, I shouldn't miss that the ending had a special and important message which made the book a good read.

🌻 Curse Of Suspicion 🌻
Duryodhana, a middle aged lawyer, suspects his wife of cheating and wants to kill her. So he employs a snake handler to place a venomous snake in his wife's bed. But the cops arrest his teenaged son who can communicate with snakes.
.
🌻Just like the title, the book is all about being suspicious and how a small suspicion can creat a lot chaos, but the book is not just about chaos, it's about the entire drama that follows after the mysterious suspicion. The book follows a story Duryodhana, a strong character with a critical mind set, being an advocate himself he has a different sight to view the world, the plot takes a huge turn when he doubts his own wife for having an affair, which sounds sick, but it isn't, the book takes a lot of twists and turns here after. At times, it just amazed me by the thought process and the way things are narrated, nothing here is certain, with a lot uncertainties the author adds a bit of humour and drama, along with a simple yet beautiful writing style which makes a worthy read.
.
I won't call it a thriller, this is basically a blend of themes and not genres, the way it's written is unique, which makes it more gripping. It actually helped me to poke my nose into an advocates mind and got see the world with Duryo's eyes. The story is all about the events that follows after the suspicion and the title is so apt, a bit more twists could have been added, overall an enjoyable read with many ups and downs. I will definitely recommend it.

It is well known concept in Indian Culture that ‘Karma’ always return. And suspicion kills happiness. Book uses both these points to well effect. A lawyer gripped by suspicion goes to extreme limits only at the end regretting his actions. Yes, Karma returns for him, main character Duryodhan, when he finds himself alone at the end of his life journey.
The story is webbed around how an individual is deluded by the evidential proof? How he builds a plot to give his suspicion a devilish plan? All court drama is very well described and reader gets an insight what it means to have credible proof to call a suspect a guilty. Story also highlights where our society is heading. What matter to people is only ‘self’ and it is turning them to emotionless individuals. The relations are only meaningful if they help you to save yourself else you can just dump them. How the youth accused of petty crimes is being treated? But still there are people who do their best to bring them back to main stream. The language is simple. It is good effort by author to bring everything together and put them in a story.
I felt the real genre of the book should be ‘Fiction - Drama’ rather than ‘Fiction - Crime Thriller’. I was expecting more thrillers and goose bumps. There are few loop holes in the story which I thought author could have handled well, like the special power of Jeet. It would have been a bonus if a brief would have been given about it. The story has multiple characters and that weakens the plot. Over all I give 3 Stars to the book.

Curse of Suspicion by Dr. Sujay Kantawala is based in Mumbai and the author has used his extensive legal experience to craft the storyline. While the blurb of the book makes it out to be the story of suspicions, revenge, crime, the storyline is quite different. The crime part of the book ends somewhere halfway and after that it is just a story of repentance, spirituality and love. The plot of the story has a very strong beginning but halfway through, it gets slumped down a bit due to changing of gears. The change in timelines is also not very apparent and the time gap between incidents is not that easy to grasp. The idea of the son talking to snakes has also been very briefly explored and thus the concept and the execution do not match much. Parts of the story seem to be hurried and the ending of the book was not very satisfactory.

The character development is also quite weak as we do not get much information as to why the characters behave the way they do. The character of Duryodhan is the one most explored in the book and we get to see his life as it moves, but any incidents that lead to his nature of being suspicious is not present. Same is the case with his son, where we get no information as to how and why did he start speaking with snakes. This development after his arrest has been covered extensively but that is too little, too late. The love story in the plot seemed unnecessary and felt like a parallel story that added no substance to the main plot.

Overall, a good read, but the blurb of the book needs to be revisited to make it suitable as per the plot.

Genre- Crime/Mystery
Pages - 266

If everybody likes you, there may be a problem! The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Absorb Everything! - Page 65.

#plot - In the sylvan surroundings of palghar & boisar, a prominent lawyer's wife had suddenly died in a mysterious way.
There had been tension between the two in the past Duryodhan, the lawyer and his wife Vasudha. He thought that Vasudha was cheating on him under the garb of her musical performances. That his son Satyajeet wasn't his son and someone else's.
Vasudha's brother think that his jiju has killed Vasudha due to the tension going on between them. A series of investigation starts and the blame is put on Satyajeet, the couple's son who saw his mother die right in front of his eyes but couldn't do anything.

#myreview - The story is all about what a suspicion can give birth to. It can even turn you into a murderer. As they say 'small spark can set a big fire'. In today's time suspicion is one of the main reasons why relationships don't work.
The story is quite engaging and fast paced. The language is easy to understand. The scenes and characters appeared real. Nothing looked like made up. There was also a hint of paranormal activity in the book.

The book ends with a message that suspicion is such a poisonous feed that it lands up ultimately killing and destroying oneself.

If you are a beginner and want to start reading crime or mystery thrillers then pick up this one.

I have rated this from point of view of a heavy reader.

Curse Of Suspicion

The story falls under crime genre. And the main theme of the story is suspicion or rather can be said as mistrust also. The Story is about a renowned lawyer Duryodhan and his mistrust against his wife Vasudha. They have a son named Satyajeet who have a special power that he can communicate and understand the language of snakes and this power also brings him a form of curse in his life because he was held guilty of his mother's murder.

Duryodhan is suspicious that his wife is cheating against him and also that Jeet is not their son, which led him to make planning for his wife's murder. He plants a snake into her bedroom and this led to the death of Vasudha. But instead of him getting punished, the wrath and guilty is been beared by his own son. The father son's equation changed after this incident and break their relationship apart which leads to certain other situation and circumstances in life which make them both very difficult to lead their life further.

There's much more into the story other then this murder. There are also many other characters who played important roles in the story, but at some point remembering all those characters may turns into confusion for readers. Also the story has been dragged a bit. But yeah there's a lot more thing to learn and to develop morality through this story. The storyline is engaging and the cover and the title is totally apt for it. The narration was not much fast paced but the writing style is engaging. I will recommend to readers who want to reading something different from a murder mystery.

Curse of Suspicion is a fast paced thriller, penned down by well known Lawyer and author Dr. Sujay Kantawala. Starting with the cover, it is the perfect depiction of how the story would unravel with the time, and also, symbolising various elements which are marked important in the tale. The amalgamation of statue of Lady Justice, snake skin, and a young boy, probably in his early teens, with the title in bold, makes the cover apt for the novel. The story begins with the introduction of three major characters, that being, Duryodhan, a middle aged Lawyer, his wife, Vasundhra, a renowned singer and performer, and their son, Satyajit. A famous saying "Doubt can only be removed by action" is taken in consideration literally by Duryodhan, when he plans to kill his wife after suspecting extra marital affairs of hers. The master plan is executed in a very unexpected manner, considering killing your wife by the help of a poisonous snake is something, which is never heard of. But twist of fate leads to Satyajit being punished for his father's deeds, with him being arrested. Oh, also not to forget, Satyajit can talk to snakes. What happens next?
The language used is lucid and comprehensive. The writing style is pretty smooth and doesn't hinders the reading experience. Towards the end of the book, the climax falls a little flat and isn't unexpected, which is because of drama taking the underhand, in comparison to crime and thriller segments.
Overall, if you're looking for a one time interesting read, this book is amazing!

Suspicion means to get an impression of something imaginary to be real. It may not be the truth always. It is the deadliest thing on earth.

It is more deadly than harsh words and deadly weapons. It gives birth to the imagination of criminal activities in the mind. It endangers human being beyond our imagination. Hampers our life beyond expectation.

The book Curse of Suspicion is also based on a similar topic of Suspicion. The book is thrilling, gripping and full suspense and mystery. The storyline is also excellent. A lawyer suspicion on his wife costs him so dearly to him and he ends up risking his entire family for it .

The author of this book is a well known lawyer. After excelling in his field, he is ready to win the battle in the fiction world too. He won the heart of the readers . We appreciate the author skills in writing such a beautiful story which is gripping and keeps a reader glued to the book.

Curse of suspicion is a book that tackles various problems like the harsh reality of remand homes, broken relationships, the black truth behind awful laws, misleading court cases and the meaness of people even those of close kins. The story revolves around satyajeet who's left to rot in a remand home after his mother dies and he has been accused guilty of her murder.
His father sure of the fact that he is not his biological son does nothing to make his days in hell bearable though he is a successful lawyer.
The language of the book is average, though there's scope for improvement.
I was quite excited about this book because the title and the blurb intrigued me but I am disappointed.
The story seems to shift it's focus at various times, from a slow pace novel in the beginning it changes to a fast pace novel at the end without a proper climax. It seems that the Writer suddenly gathered up all the ideas and placed them in a haphazard manner.
The characters are so many that the Readers get confused. Not even a single character has the strength of a fully built character and all of them lack closure.
This book lacks unity of plot. There are so many things happening around at the same time that shifts the focus from one particular issue.
The narration is not at all great, the Writer seems to follow his own instinct and jumps from one tale to another which leads to confusion.
The only good thing about the book is it's title, it suits the book appropriately.
