She would delve into their mysteries and imagine herself working alongside the gang. As she grew, Amanda usually found herself drawn to books with an overall mystery theme, whether the genre was Sci-fi, Fantasy, or Horror. She also loves watching police procedural movies and television shows.
Though her major in college was Biology, Amanda minored in film studies after an amazing high school literature class where she and her classmates made a short film mimicking the style used in the movie Memento. In a film writing class, she finished plotting out a two-year-old screenplay that she’d started after a car accident left her bedridden for a few months.
That screenplay—titled Endless Evil—gathered dust for several years until, in 2013, her coworker and best friend suggested she turn it into a novel. Amanda followed her advice and self-published Endless Evil in February of 2014. She immediately began the follow-up novel, White River, and published it that same year in August.
Since then she’s released two other books in The Pruitt County Mysteries and her first standalone novel, The Ideal Woman, was released in August of 2017.
Amanda grew up in Georgia and is currently in the process of renovating her childhood home with plans to live there. She’s had a menagerie of pets, and currently resides with two rambunctious tomcats who have no problem distracting Amanda from her writing for a cuddle session or playtime. Kimbrel was named after the former Atlanta Braves closing pitcher. She planned to name her second kitty Bosher after the Atlanta Falcons punter, but the name his foster mom gave him, Lupin, stuck.

Run of the mill 'modern' crime story including all the cruelty and gore that's expected in this subgenre. Some implausible plot points, some very odd actions by characters, some insta-love, but quite readable and quick.
When I say readable, I can't really get a hang on the narrative, sometimes short chopped sentences and sometimes much more flowing and enjoyable. What's not so enjoyable are the favourite words and expressions - surely there are synonyms?
Case in point: everyone 'grabs' anything - all the time. Napkins, pens, laptops, lunch, each other...
Alex walked into the kitchen, set his briefcase on the table, and grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge along with a bag of granola from the pantry. He grabbed his briefcase again...
He got out of the car, grabbed the box of evidence and paperwork from the back seat, and handed it to John. He grabbed the cooler...
"Megan, how about you get settled, and we'll all go grab a bite to eat. Cas, have you eaten yet?"

Not horrible, but Pruitt County will have to do without me going forward.

A Good Read
This was a good read. There was enough mystery to keep it interesting. The unraveling of details was done at a very good pace. My only complaint is the relationship between Megan and Alex was a little telegraphed and not a welcome surprise but more like an of course this happened. Otherwise this store was great and I'd recommend it to any who like crime stories.

Alex Gray is an experienced police detective, living and working in a small Georgia town. When the strangled and raped bodies of attractive women begin to show up, he knows just how to investigate such crimes. Unsure whether these deaths are related, until Megan Crawford survives with no memory of what happened to her, he quickly realizes they are. This one survivor has a questionable past, but he finds himself drawn to her anyway. With his partner becoming more and more unreliable, he embarks on a mission to help Megan remember, because he knows she is the key to solving the crimes.
I found the main character, Alex Gray likable and interesting. I did however find myself wishing to know more of the his back story. I would've loved to have gotten more perspective into the killer’s mind as well. I like to get into their heads when reading this type of story. I find it interesting to try to understand the brutalities they have experienced, or lack in their younger years, that would drive someone to commit a heinous series of crimes.
At just over 200 pages, I found this book to be a fast and easy read. The pacing of the story is good and the story line is good, it had me guessing up until the very end. Overall, this is a good story and I did like it.

Endless Evil by Amanda Feyerbend
This author has written a novel that is just superb!
The story take splace in a small Georgia town. However, it reaches across a span of 4 states. She has woven together a group of characters from different walks of life and circumstances into a veritable mosaic tale.
You have a single professional female who is alone in the world except for one sister abroad , and 2 police detectives one who is under the control of a runaway addict while the other is also alone except for a sister that is a forensic technician. Add in a pair of serial killers who started killing at the age of sixteen with an abundance of missing females all beaten, strangled raped and dumped.
The story has you held captive page after page until you finally get the more complete story at the end.
I will not give you spoilers.you must buy and read this book if you are a crime novel enthusiast. Amanda has written an awesome first novel and I cannot wait to read more of her work.

My first book by Amanda Feyerbend, and I can see myself reading more of the Pruitt County Mystery series. The story takes place in a small Georgia county area where Detective Alex Gray has settled. Alex has a painful background, which we are enlightened about much later in the book. Someone is abducting young women, and then their bodies are dumped alongside roads and in fields. One woman has escaped, but the drugs injected to subdue her also erase her memory. Megan sticks around to help in the investigation while several more women are being abducted and found dead. It's a whirlwind of violence and a race to stop the killing. What's interesting about this book is we also are privy to the thoughts and activities of the bad guys too. Good, quick read.

For a first book for the author, Feyerbend definitely hit her mark. Characters were well thought out, the story paced well and the ending was fitting. While I like suspense to end in the very last pages, this was not so prolonged to merit anything less than a 5

A new author to me and I quite enjoyed this. I liked her style of writing. However, I wasn't keen on her Megan much. She was way too whiny and paranoid for my liking and just needed a right good shaking !! I did like the two Cooper brothers. John was another flaky person as well. Alex did disappoint me a little when he behaved very unprofessionally, I think.
She did commit THE cardinal sin of spelling one of her own character's names wrong, though, so that cost her a star from me. She suddenly changed Ashley to Ashely.....I was not happy ! Then she wrote the wrong word here, "Becky pushed away for her mother," there were a LOT of missed-off speechmarks, always at the closing end, so her people started speaking and never stopped......apostrophe mistakes, the e-book staple, were here, too, she writes taught and not taut, saw not seen, states and saran should be capitalised, we had dominate not dominant, dissention not dissension, policeman not policemen and for some reason she sometimes capitalised Captain and then not. We also had raking, not racking then discernable not discernible. They really ought to have been spotted and tidied up.
Then there was a passage 40% in where I just wrote, "Huh ?" Maybe the author will see this review and let me know what it means, "In his mind, he was still fighting over whether or not he could trust her. If she'd been involved in another series of rapes, could she be involved in this one too ?" I've no idea what other series of rapes he was referring to and I scrolled back to see if I could find mention of it and couldn't.
I did love this point, though, "Most animal species don't murder each other without reason. What happened when we evolved that caused this ? I guess higher thinking can't always be a good thing." That is SO true !! As I write we have kids murdering each other on our capital's streets and that's evolution ??
Mistakes aside, I enjoyed the story and will read the next instalment for sure.

I'm assuming that Endless Evil is a debut novel for Amanda Feyerbend and if so it is a creditable achievement. She has introduced the reader to a couple of interesting characters who have more stories to tell. Likewise the main storyline is effectively told and the book is very much a page turner which is hard to put down.
There are a couple of blemishes which I am sure the author will not be repeating as her her writing journey progresses. First she segues into lengthy descriptions of the main character's home which do nothing to advance the plot or develop the character and in fact come at a point in the storyline where they hold up the action. Second the ancillary plotline is very weak and the character involved poorly developed - to such an extent that his involvement in the plotline seems inexplicable. Finally - and worst of all - characters retell in detail events that have been fully described to the reader already. This last looks a bit like padding but I'm sure it's poor editing.
I'm definitely going to get the next in the Pruitt County series because I think the author has potential and I want to see how she develops but I also think the characters have similar potential and I want to see where they go.

License & proof of insurance please, ma’am.
She was asked to get in the back of the patrol car.
That is all she remembered.
Officer Peters greeted Detective Alex Gray & Dr. Al Cooper (ME) at the crime scene.
Captain Ed Bridges was going to speak with Mr. Collins (45+) & Mrs. Collins (45+).
Detective Gray, & Detective John Miles (Alex’s partner) went to the Java Bean.
Bruce Chapman (dad, mgr.) Kevin Chapman (son) Jessica Monroe, Brian Stevens, & Jason Harrison were all interviewed.
The 2nd female victim was found about 10 mi. away.
Jennifer Robbins (24, former inmate, meth cooker, Blairsville).
Victim # 3 Megan Crawford. She had been raped but somehow managed to escape & go to the hospital.
Greenville. What is going on with Megan & Detective Gray?
Joy’s (Heroin addict) corpse had beaten to many times. Bones/blood were every which way.
Detective Gray, & Detective Miles were horrified at the sight.
The coroner confirmed she had been raped brutally vaginally/anally.
Will the perpetrator(s) be caught & brought to justice?

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written crime thriller book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

Grotesque murders turn up in the middle of picturesque Pruitt County. First one... then two... Maybe it's better stop counting.
From the start our hero, handsome look alike Timothy Oliphant... (praise the author for her good taste) is thrown to the kind of violence he thought left behind in the big city, with a puzzle to solve before the bodies keep piling up, always disposed on plain sight dismissed of humanity, or dignity... most importantly cleverly abandoned without clues... the murdering kin knows of police procedures and they are taking advantage off it and pleasure taunting the entire community.
Fortunately our hero doesn't possess only the good looks of... You know who, already!
Note... I have adored the 3 short stories, a gift attached to this book, impeccable and lyrical even on their darkest moments.
Really enjoyed it, even more than the book itself. I can certainly recommend miss Amanda Feyerbend to other enthusiastic reader's of the thriller kind.

I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THIS, THE SECOND BOOK IN A ROW NOT CARING FOR THE CHARACTERS, AT ALL. I DIDN’T CARE FOR THE STORY LINE EITHER, SORT OF FLAT. JOHN SEEMED TO ENJOY WHAT HE WAS BECOMING. ;<

Alex Grey is a Detective in a small town. Crime is pretty much small stuff until pretty young women start popping up dead every couple of days with signs of being raped, drugged and strangled but with no DNA left behind and no leads to follow.

I enjoyed this book. Didn't want it to end. Two killers are kidnapping and killing women and leaving their bodies by the roads. Detective Alex Gray is on the case. He has his work cut out for him as very little evidence is left behind. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Mindless killing!
There's lots of suspense and danger as a woman's body was found off a country road in the mountains of north Georgia. Soon another body was found. An exciting mystery as the search is on for a serial killer.

A real “page turner”
Couldn’t put this down! Well developed characters, suspense-filled plot. Satisfying resolution. Will definitely read more by this author. Highly recommend it.

Having read this book I really wonder how a woman could write this kind of story.It was a fantastic read and once started I could hardly put it down,if you like Detective books inc Murder definitely read this as it is excellent.

Serial killers, detectives with issues, psychologically and physically damaged survivor, and a small Georgia town all make for a good read.

Received as ARC. What a great start to a new series. The interaction between Alex and Megon are entertaining. Looking forward to book 2
