This book applies the fundamental insights developed in volume I to understand a number of communication patterns that are often troublesome, but can also be used for positive change. These include Implication, Self-reference, Self-contradiction, Paradox, Double Binds, Negation, Judgment, Certainty, Modes of Operating, Meta-messages, Para messages, Metaphor, and concludes with a Verbatim annotated transcript of a client session teaching how to go from anger to forgiveness.
I read this book directly after Volume One. It was a much quicker and smoother read, although technical at some point. What I loved about both volumes is the dissection of different forms of scope and categorization with vivid examples on how and where to use them. These books are a must read for people who are working in the consulting, coaching, or mental health fields, they will allow them to get more effective results, more awareness on their problems and broaden their skillset
