Meet the Gods of the Fifth Floor. They work hard. They play hard. They f#ck harder.
Think Madmen meets Suits.

They have history. They have a connection. They have unfinished business.

Beck

Money. Power. And as many women as I can shake my d*ck at.

Apparently I’m living the American dream.

In reality, I’m trapped in my worst nightmare.

And I can’t seem to wake up.

The ghosts of my past haunt my future.

The money. The hook-ups. The ad agency. The friends.

I’d give it all up in a heartbeat, for the one thing I want, but don’t have.

Her.

Mel

I’ve worked so hard and sacrificed so much to get where I am.

I should be proud of my achievements.

Instead, my success is marred by guilt.

It weighs heavy on my mind day and night.

My future is apparently bright.

Yet I can’t seem to shake the ghosts of my past.

Each day I remind myself what I have, and try to forget what I’ve lost.

Him.

All four Gods of the Fifth Floor looked amazing and very interesting. Totally different characters yet appealing and intriguing!!!

In the first book, Beck’s story was unraveled. He was in for an ultimate surprise, as he accidentally had an encounter with the love of his life who had disappeared for the last twelve years!!!

While the other three Gods were the basic secondary characters, it was confusing and kept me out of focus. I was able to distinguish one from the other after the first half of the story.
Regarding the plot, it wasn’t something I hadn’t read before - although it was very well written, and it was widely expanded.
I wasn’t thrilled how the revelation towards the end was played out, it felt flat and very ordinary.

The cover was exquisite but did not relate to the story’s character.

Beck by MV Ellis is the First book in Gods Of The Fifth Floor Series. This is the story of Melissa Reid 'Mel' and Tyler Beckett 'Beck'. Beck and Melissa had been in love with they were younger but something happened and Melissa just disappeared. Beck, Raine, Nate and Dillion have built a Empire that has brought them wealth and success. But, Beck still can't get Melissa out of his mind fully even with all his wealth along with as many women as he could want nothing... seems to fill him like she did. Melissa has worked her way in a Marketing company to Senior VP of Marketing. Melisa and Beck end up meeting again for through their work. Beck of course wants answers as to what happened to her that made her leave. Melisa knows her secret might be more than he will handle. This was a good second chance at love story. Great start to a new series...can't wait for more!!

I was a bit disappointed with this story. Characters are all over the place . And they keep repeating themselves. For more then half of the book the story seems going nowhere.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. This book was extremely hot and emotional. The sexual tension, the teasing, t hg e banter. It definitely kept me on my feet. I love the guys and I can't wait for the rest of there story. As for Melissa I just don't kn w how I feel about her right now. I feel like she really messed up Beck and he didn't deserve that. And I just don't agree with her reasoning I just can't. I love beck though. He's truly great.

Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me the honor of reading and reviewing an ARC of this book. I've loved all that she has written previously and i knew this would not be any different. I found this book different from her previous writing more mellow but still just as good.

Tyler (Beck) Beckett founded a advertising agency with his friends Raine, Nate and Dillon. Beck seems to have it all Money , power , woman but there has always been something missing

Melissa is a Senior VP of marketing in Beyner America, has worked and sacrificed alot to be where she is , but her past still haunts her till this day.

When Mel gets asked to sit in a hear a pitch, she doesn't expect the one that got away to walk through the door, both not expecting each other both just as shocked as the other. They haven't see each other in 12 years .Amongst the boys Melissa is known as the one who broke Becks heart and ruined him for all other woman Beck needs answers why Mel just up and left and he wont stop till he gets them. No matter how much time has past the off the chain sexual chemistry is still there, but it wont be as easy to pick up where they left off all those years ago, and secrets tear people apart every day, and Melissa has a huge one.

When Beck finds out why she left will he able to forgive and forget or will it all be too much for him to handle. Can they start again or will the past come back to haunt them, and when Beck finds out Mel's huge secret will he able to forgive and move on or will it be too much to forgive. Is a second chance in the cards of Mel and Beck. Your going to have to read it to find out.

This book is about a love lost but not gone , about the one that got away, its about second chances. I cannot wait for all the boys to get their own book. I recommend this to everyone who is looking for a hot second chance story with a hot alpha who does anything to get his way.!!!!!!

Having read a few of MV Ellis’ books, I was intrigued by this new series, especially the group of alpha males it’s about.

The Gods of the Fifth Floor were all so different to one another but balance each other out so perfectly together. They are the epitome of male friendship, having each other’s backs even when they disagree with what one of them is doing. Their company works so well because they work seamlessly together, while at the same time being charming, gorgeous and ruthless. I cannot wait for the rest of the Gods stories in this series.

Tyler Becket, or Beck to his friends, is the Head of New Business at the Gods advertising agency, BR&ND. He, like his partners, is always on top of his game when it comes to pitching to prospective clients, but that gets thrown out of the window when, Melissa Reid, his first love and the one who shattered his heart twelve years ago, is the client.

Melissa is a hardworking, no crap taking businesswoman who has worked her butt off to get to where she is. She’s thrown a curve ball when she must attend the pitch instead of her bosses, and an even bigger surprise in the form of her ex-boyfriend and love of her life. After a more than expected reunion, Beck is determined to get the answers to his questions on why their relationship ended so abruptly all those years ago.

Beck promises himself, the Gods and Mel that he is not letting her go this time. He uses all the moves he has at his disposal to prove to Mel that they have the same insane chemistry as before and they are perfect for one another. But when the lies and half-truths start to unravel, will Beck and Mel ever be able to continue where they left off as teenagers? Or will all the secrets tear them apart for good, just as they are starting to get back on track as a couple?

Starting off with why I loved this book, was the boys’ banter and genuine friendship. I loved every scene with the Gods in, they wound each other up and bickered like lifelong friends. It was hilarious and brilliant, and I cannot wait for more in the rest of the series. I absolutely adored Beck. He was by far my favourite character, he was such a softie underneath that hard business shell and was willing to do whatever it takes to get Melissa back. His character was so well developed, at times you wanted to defend him and be angry for him and at other times, you wanted to give him a hug. He showed so many sides, and a level of vulnerability with Mel, which I loved, but was so strong and confident too. Their chemistry was through the roof, it was so hot!

Now what I didn’t like about the book was Melissa’s secrets. I saw what had happened pretty early on in the book, which I am sure most readers would too, which made there less twist and turns but I really disliked the way she handled the whole situation, which actually made her a fairly difficult character to like. I was so angry with her for everything, and even when she apologised and realised her mistake, I wish Beck had made her grovel more, although I can understand why he didn’t because he was such a great guy who loved her hard. I just didn’t feel like she felt as deeply for him as he did for her and that’s unusual for me to feel when reading romance novels. I can completely understand why she acted the way she did twelve years ago but to not do anything in the decade after made her seem quite cowardly and that didn’t sit well with me.

However, even with those feelings, I still immensely enjoyed Beck. I loved the characters and their relationships and friendships, I loved how the plot developed although I do want to know if the Gods won the account in the end! I think this was a great start to a new series from MV Ellis and I will be reading the next story from our Gods of the Fifth Floor as soon as I can!

Take me to the Gods of the Fifth Floor. Did someone say “Confession”; I think I’m going to need it. All four of these men have unique personalities, together they are a force, charismatic, devilishly handsome and always delivering their A game.

Tyler Beckett, Beck to his friends, is the first to tell his story and I absolutely adored this man from the onset. He had his heart shattered by his first love but with the help of his best mates he managed to get on with his life. Enter the mysterious Melissa Reid twelve years down the track, face to face in a business meeting and it all turns to shit.

Mel is the ultimate bombshell in a pencil skirt. She lived in the real world though, she had worked damn hard coming up through the ranks to earn her high profile position as VP in Marketing in a prestigious company. The Gods were out to impress this potential client, but this woman who just disappeared from his life all those years ago, had some questions to answer. This was a sensational read as the story unfolded; it had you guessing all the way through, turning the pages and desperately trying to figure it all out.

Along with the crazy witty banter of all the characters came a couple that were sizzling hot now reunited. He had all the moves, pulling out the big guns; she wasn’t getting away this time. However the love went both ways as Mel was just as broken as her Tyler at having to fade away, causing her to live a life of lies, secrets and half-truths. I felt so sorry for Beck at one point I just wanted to hug him. His character was phenomenal, he was so confident and strong and yet his vulnerability showed through with Mel. She had always had, and will have his heart. When you know, you know! He knew it at 18.

The epilogue was just amazing and my heart melted with the way it was put together. Everyone needs to meet Beck he was just a great guy. I know I’m counting down to meeting the rest of the Gods. I have Raine in my sites, fingers crossed, he is next. This is going to be one hot series.

That’s what I call an introduction to a new series, which promises to be totally epic. Four arrogant gods run an advertising agency, they’ve never lost a pitch yet. They have it all success, money, looks and no shortage of women. At least that’s how it appears looking in from the outside. No one’s life is that perfect and I suspect each has a story worth telling.

Melissa and Tyler were high school sweethearts, with big plans for their future. As we know things rarely go according to plan though. Overnight Melissa’s life is turned upside down and without warning or explanation she disappears from Tyler’s life. Withdrawing from society after Melissa ghosted Tyler, he reinvents himself as Beck. Meanwhile Mel has had to make some life changing decisions and face her own adversity.

As Director of New Business, the gods are on their way to pitch advertising ideas to a new client. It’s been 12 years since he’s seen her and like something he conjured up, she’s standing right in front of him. They both appraise each other and it is obvious time has been very kind to them both. Tyler has filled out in all the right places, whilst Mel has curves any man would want to run his hands over. Will their past interfere with the campaign or can they continue to act like the professionals they are?

Holy Duck! This book was GREAT! Beck and Mel have you intrigued from start to finish! An unknown breakup, Secrets and a whole lot of uncontrollable Lust! Whew, get ready to have your world wrecked with this mindblowing read! Mel's keeping Secrets and Beck just wants answers, these two have serious unfinished business! Everything about these two had me consumed with needing to know everything and rooting for them! I have to say, Mel had to grow on me, I was completely all about Beck! He just steals your heart! After 12 years these two are back in each other's lives and the question is when the truth is revealed, can they make it through? This is a very memorable second chance love story and it's one you don't want to miss! Ellis gives us all the feels and one heck of a book hangover! I Loved all of Beck's friends/partners, I'm very excited for their books. Beck is book one in Ellis's new series Gods of the Fifth Floor. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

The Gods of the Fifth Floor has been on my radar for a while but I had a feeling that once I started reading these sexy bad boys I wouldn’t want to stop. I was completely correct and I read Beck through the night as I could not put this sizzling hot romance down.

Beck is a second chance romance filled with mystery, secrets and steamy chemistry. Tyler ‘Beck’ Beckett and Melissa Reid have a history, and it’s messy and complicated. After twelve years they meet by accident when Beck’s advertising agency is pitching to gain the business for the toy company where Melissa is the Senior VP for Marketing. A shock meeting and explosive chemistry turns into a story that contains hot spicy romance moments and an alpha male determined to regain his past love. These characters were amazing and I loved the layers that the author MV Ellis packed in, particularly with Beck. This book also introduces us to the other members of the Gods of the Fifth Floor - Raine, Nate and Dillon and I cannot wait to start their books.

Beck is a punchy, angsty second chance romance that leaves you wanting more. The characters and plot were both brilliantly done and I look forward to diving into this author’s other works.

★ Smoothly written story, great characters - Unfinished business, indeed ★

—>>> Twelve years has gone by, but Beck still has “The Dream,” one which he cannot seem to shake loose from his brain and puts him in a nasty frame of mind. It must have been an omen, though, for that very same day when Beck walks into a pitch meeting, he runs into the very same girl staring in it, Melanie, who had disappeared like a ghost from his life. Beck is now a self-made man, having founded BR&ND, a top-rated advertising company with his three best friends from Yale. Just like they picked up the pieces after Mel had disappeared from his life with no explanations, they now support him when he single-mindedly pursues his first love and demands answers. The question is whether he will be able to accept the truth when it comes, because the girl he once knew and loved is now a woman with many secrets and a life she would rather put behind her. But just like he declared, they have unfinished business...

A smoothly written story with great characters and an intriguing secondary cast.

Beck started an advertising agency with his friends that took off and made them rich. Beck should be happy with all the money, women and success but he misses Melissa. Melissa is the woman that he can't forget. Melissa has worked hard to become the successful person she is today. She also has a huge secret that she keeps from Beck. The two meet again after twelve years on a potential client meeting. Will the attraction between them be enough to spark another chance? How will Beck react to Melissa's secret?

Beck and Mel's story is one of heartbreak and after 12 years they are back in each others lives, Mel is keeping a secret that could change their lives. Go on their journey you won't be disappointed. Their story will bring heat, angst, drama and will have you on the edge of your seat as you await the bomb that will be dropped as all is revealed.

Great start to a new series. I really liked this second chance romance. Beck has it all, money, power and women but he isn’t happy. He has a ghost that haunts his past, the girl that broke his heart. Mel worked hard for her success, but it doesn’t take away the guilt she has. Her future should be bright, but it isn’t without Beck. What will happen when they come face to face after 12 years. Will the secrets revealed let them move forward? Fast-paced with great characters and intense chemistry. I liked it.

Have you ever read a book and your two steps ahead of the story, knowing which way the chips are going to fall?
Well, that kind of how thing’s panned out in this novel.
Melissa (Mel) and Tyson Beckett (Beck, the ‘B’ in the BR&ND advertising agency) Were teenage sweethearts that were separated for eleven years due to o long crazy story involving Mel’s abusive Dad and a Mother to afraid to leave him and...a secret.
Years later through their work and a series of circumstances, the couple are reunited.
And...they hook up straight way...I mean like, Mel didn’t even have time to leave the building after their first meeting.
A couple of things annoyed me about this story.
First, Becks arrogant nature. Second Mel pretty much succumbed to everything and anything he told her to do.
Now, she was supposed to me this sassy, smart marketing V.P. but, she completely lost her s##t and her ability to function in his presents.
In the beginning, I thought this was just a laps in judgement on her part, but the more I read I realised the patterns in her behaviour towards Beck had already been set. And Beck, just made demands of her and she would comply.
For a person who grew up with and abusive father, the way Beck would treat her, and speak to her a times when he couldn’t control his behaviour was disturbing.
The drama that unfolded towards the end,...well you would have to be blind not to see it coming.
I found the sex scenes boring (you can read the same in a dozen books similar to this)
The romance and interactions between Mel & Beck were to obvious. There was nothing unexpected about their interactions. And the happy families scenario towards the end...ugh! Made me want to barf.
Beck got everything his own way once again.

Overall, this book had its moments. I found some of the ‘Confessional’ meetings and banter between the guys at BR&ND to be amusing and, you can see the follow up books coming. Raine and the hot chick in account. Dillon and Nico. Nate and whoever. How much do you want to bet each one of these guys ends up married in the Epilogue. It seems be romance writer MO these days everything has to be HEA. Hey, how about alternate endings in the epilogue for those of us who want more realistic outcomes. No surprises in this novel.

This second chance love story is not a sweet re-igniting of young love innocently lost.
There's a lot more going on here, and it's a much more turbulent roller coaster ride between a very star-crossed couple that is Beck and Mel, than I first surmised.

Hurt, anger, betrayal of trust, lies and secrets of Herculean proportions, all swirl around their hap-hazard reunion.
It's obvious this pair of long-parted lovers have some serious chemistry that ignites easily upon them reconnecting.
But are the secrets Mel is still keeping too much for Beck to forgive, and is their residual love strong enough to endure the fallout once all laid bare?

At first I couldn't decide who my allegiance lay with whilst these characters revealed themselves; but ultimately, it was Beck. And despite his somewhat easy acceptance that for me wasn't realistic enough, you can't help but feel for this man with the big personality and even bigger heart.

As for Mel, I just couldn't reconcile her continued actions in keeping the secrets she had with all that is uncovered, and still keeping them as their relationship was reaffirmed.
In essence she lost me.

This author always writes in vivid detail that enhances her stories and your enjoyment of them, though with this one, her prolonging her reveal-which evidently came as no surprise-did draw my attention away somewhat from the great witty banter and side entertainment provided by the other members of the BR&ND team.

But there is still a lot to enjoy in Ellis's account of these two and their journey back to one another, and I'm super keen to hear more of the the other "Gods of the Fifth Floor".

Can the burning ember of love reignite again?

Beck is the first book of the Gods Of The Fifth Floor series. I read this book after reading Raine so I was not sure if it would stand up to that book, as sometimes the first book in a series is not as impressive. I thought this is a well written book with and interesting second chance romance story-line. Tyler Beckett and Melissa Reid were in love until she disappeared without a word. This shattered Beck's heart and since then no one else has been able to capture it. Beck and his three friends started and own an advertising agency together. He is all set to pitch a new ad campaign to Beyner America when he sees Melissa. It is twelve years since she left and she is now the VP of Marketing at Beyner. Well things are about to get very interesting between these two. Beck needs answers from her and he is not about to let her get away again. Even when she tells him things she is still hiding one very big secret. The spark between them is still smoldering just waiting to become a full blown fire that will overtake them both and fuse them together.

I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

MV Ellis has done it again with Beck! Tyler Beck set up an advertising agency with his buddies, Raine, Nate, and Dillon, which has given him so much. Money, power, easy beautiful women, and yet, there was still something missing at the end of the day. Melissa is Senior VP of Marketing at another firm, who definitely worked very hard to get to where she was at. However, she has some past demons which has dogged her every step. When she's asked to sit in on something for work, her world is thrown into chaos when her past walks through the door after 12 years. See, Mel's demons have just been set loose when she comes face to face with Beck again. In his friend circle, she's known as the woman who broke his heart, but they don't realize for some time that she destroyed her own as well. There's a very big reason why she did so, and Beck intends to get answers finally. When that secret is revealed, is there any hope that Mel & Beck can get past it?! To find out the secret, and the aftermath, you'll have to hit that one click button, as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is my first book by M.V. Ellis, and I was not disappointed. I loved this first book in the God's Of The Fifth Floor.

Beck is partners with three of his friends of BR&ND an ad agency. He is rich, cocky, alpha, and he knows it too. His life was swept out from under him 12 years ago when the woman he loved completely ghosted him. I loved Beck.

Melissa Reid is senior VP of marketing at Beyner America and sits in on Beck's pitch, and they see each other for the first time after she ghosted him 12 years ago. Mel had a lot of pain in her past.

I loved Beck and Mel together.
Their past was so heartbreaking, but you couldn't help but root for their future. They had a lot of intense chemistry. Their sex scenes were hot.

I loved getting all the chapters in Beck's pov.

I cannot wait to know more about the other partners. Just the small snippets of Nate, makes me want to know his story.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants a sexy second chance romance

Beck and Mel's story: WOW! I really enjoyed this book. It's not usually my cup of tea, but I'm so glad that I read the book. You'll be glad to have read the book as well. So don't hesitate to do it. Beck and Mel have known each other for a long time. They were in love as teenagers and something happened that caused them to be separated. (Hint: You'll have to read the book to find out what occurred.) The story is filled with ups and downs from both characters. It's the second time around and a chance to make things right. The secrets of the past have a way of coming to light.

This is the first book of the series! I have no doubt the other members of BR&ND will have books too. If they're anything like Beck and Mel's story, we're all in for a treat. So what are you waiting for?? Read it! I loved this book so much that I purchased it after I received an ARC from Booksprout. Yes, I left my honest review!

Loved it!

A great second chance romance. Beck is so sweet, you’re all going to want to be the love of his life.
Sex: great god, yes! And boy is it good.
Plot: this is a well rounded story with a great dual PoV to keep you hooked. Beck had his heart broken by Mel when she ghosted him twelve years earlier, and she just walked through the doors for his workplace with no warning. There is no big twist or surprise here. From the moment Sam was mentioned you knew the part he was going to play. I did expect the big obstacle to be when Beck found out about Sam, but it wasn’t, and instead was refreshing that it was when Sam found out about Beck.
World: set in NYC in modern day, the creation of BR&ND is fantastic, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the God’s stories.
Recommend? Most certainly. The tension and frustration will be enough to keep you glued to the pages, add in the slow burn of a bonfire attraction, family drama, and nice bad boys, and it’s worth your time to read.

I'm so glad that I'm a frequent reader of MV Ellis and that she has created another series for me to indulge in and enjoy. Beck is the first book in the Gods of the Fifth Floor series and it was nothing short of fantastic. This is a second chance romance and I love it when I (I mean the main characters) have to work hard to reach that HEA that I love so much. Beck and Mel have a very long and complicated history and they're suddenly and unexpectedly reunited. And what a reunion it is!! There is such intrigue surrounding the circumstances of their breakup and the negative lingering feelings between the pair. The secrets between them lead to a very layered dynamic between Beck and Mel, but will they be able to resolve their issues and move forward? They definitely have unfinished business and you've got to grab a copy to find out how it all ends. Ms. Ellis has laid the foundation for a smokin' hot and engaging series and I can't wait to see which God of the Fifth Floor's story is next.

***Warning: you will need tissues for this book**

Wow, just wow. I love reading second chance romances. So we start with Beck who had found the love of his life in high school and her name is Melissa. As you know that when you are in high school you don't know the difference between love and lust. Well Beck knew it was not lust and that he loved her. However, there love did not go the way he wanted. Mel had to make a choice after high school and not one she wanted. Lets fast forward now, both Mel and Beck have some how run into each other. Beck says they have unfinished business and Mel just wants to explain. So what happens. The chemistry is off the charts with these two and the little angst that Beck has makes it even hotter. This is one emotional roller coaster. This book is different than most because of the endings. This is a great start to a new series and cannot wait to see who is next!!

Beck has it all - money, good looks, brains, power, success, women. But he doesn't have Mel. Melissa walks back into Beck's life, surprising both of them. Mel. His Mel. The one who broke his heart 12 years ago. He needs to know why she left, but knows that she hasn't told him the whole truth. She's holding back one really big secret. Unbelievable second chance story! These two are doing a slow and sensual dance around each other. But he's the only willing to admit that he wants her back. The chemistry between these two is just unbelievable, as is much of their banter. I hate her father for what he did to her family. I want to hate her for the secrets she kept from Beck, but I just can't - she and Beck are so perfect together, and have been through so much without each other. If the rest of the series is anything like this book, we're in for one wild ride.

Multiple tropes - positively surprising plot, great writing, perfect read!

This book is epitome of perfect romance for me. It has multiple tropes inside, it has multiple plots, it is not straight forward. The situation between hero and heroine I would call complicated at best. There is full range of emotional states that two main characters are going through and what is most important and why I gave it a 5* rating is the fact that I could easily embark on the same journey with them both. Both were easy to connect, it was easy to feel compassion, to be empathetic toward their situation.
I loved all the aside plots and other characters that were presented on the pages. I do not want to give anything away but I want you to give this book a try. It can really positively surprise you. Hopefully you will feel the same as me after reading it. Can't wait for the other books from the Gods of the Fifth Floor.

Four attractive, beyond wealthy men make up the advertising brand BR&ND. This is the story of Beck. Average guy who worked his way to the top with 3 of his closest friends. While his professional life is great, his personal life is not. He never got over his first love Mel who one day just disappeared on him. 12 years later, a chance meeting puts them together and their world is never the same.

The attraction between these two are well written. The “drama” that unfolds is factual and believable. There were times that Beck’s controlling attitude and one way of thinking was annoying (I personally don’t like men like that) but if a writer makes me feel a certain way then they have done a great job of expressing themselves.

Beck swaggers with his sexy confident approach to business and his sex life. He met the love of his life as a teenager and then she disappeared. Twelve years later he is blown away when Melissa is at his office for a pitch meeting. It’s like seeing a ghost but the show must go on. Melissa is shocked to see Beck, aka Tyler, after all these years. Walking away from him was the hardest thing she did when her world imploded. Since then, she has shown her strength as she rebuilt her life and found a career that she loves. Beck carries a lot of anger and hurt towards Melissa but can’t deny that the love he felt then still exists. Now that these two are being thrown together for work, will they find that spark hasn’t faded? Can Beck find forgiveness for Melissa? Why did she leave? So much to love about this journey that is messy and passionate.
