Rate this book
Millions of people suffer from debilitating pain and inflammation each and every day. Most treatments focus on relieving or managing the pain instead of locating the cause and eliminating it. This book helps the reader understand what pain is, where it comes from, and most importantly, how to get rid of it. There are six things to fix and six protocols to help correct the imbalances that cause pain and dysfunction. Learn how to balance thyroid levels, fix the gut, revive your metabolism, restore energy levels, improve brain function, and anti-aging. Look younger, feel better, and think clearer, while eliminating the causes of pain that create dysfunction in your body. Allow this book to be your personalized road map to guide you down the road to recovery. The most exciting part is realizing that you may be only a few simple choices away from eliminating chronic debilitating pain and suffering from your life.

I read a lot of books about pain trying to glean useful nuggets. I quickly realized this book was not for me so I'm not rating it.

My first red flag was "God made you a body that heals itself."

It's a stop eating sugar book: "Why not just fix the problem? Stop consuming sugar products..." and later it says to stop eating sugar, dairy, and grains. (As a side note - using the word 'just' here is awful, like it's easy-peasy and done. He also refers to something as simple later when it is not. Perhaps I should just starting running ten miles a day, too)

He's a seller: he has a TV show and DVDs you can buy

It's a supplement book: there are pages and pages of supplements, more than I've ever seen in a book before. Many of them are multiple supplements in one pill with catchy names that, yes, he sells

And then we get to the two day gallbladder fast of drinking nothing but apple juice with olive oil at the end followed by an organic coffee enema. Did I mention this book is not for me? If this sounds inriguing to you, here's a book for you.

Very informative and helpful

Dr Hannen guides the reader through some all too common illnesses that plague us and then presents doable inexpensive lifestyle changes protocols and solutions to these chronic conditions. The book focuses on finding and treating the causes and not symptoms. It has a helpful and potentially life altering advice in a world addicted to symptomatic pharmaceutical miracle cures that don't.

The book was okay. It is designed more people experiencing pain, autoimmune disorders, etc. I thought it was more of health/wellness book. It would be good for people with pain issues.
