Silverton's golden boy Liam Morrison has lived his life doing right by the town, his family, and the family business-too bad he's failing miserably. As the local ski resort's manager, he's been struggling to keep the business strong... and it's not working. With her past in the rearview, Wells Bryant restarts her life in the small town as the newest owner of the town's inn. The last thing on her mind is falling for a handsome mountain man. Although he hits all the right notes of sweet and trustworthy, her hard-won independence forces her to resist anything but friendship. Through Liam's scramble to save his family's legacy, and despite the armor around Wells' heart, the pair form an unexpected bond. But when Liam makes a crucial mistake putting him and Wells at odds, will Silverton, the resort, and their bond survive?
I liked this one. It was different from her others in that they actually got together before the end of the book. It was nice to see a relationship flow. These two had good chemistry. I enjoyed the story line but felt a little sad about everything. They could hardly be together, the business was failing. why didn't the siblings just talk to each other. Wherever this Silver Ridge place is there is a lot of Hot singles there...... it's just a little unbelievable:} These are clean romances with sex before marriage behind closed doors.
I'm so glad to have discovered this gem of a series.
A small town romance set in Silverton, with snowy mountains, cozy vibes & picturesque views.
Wells, who is slowly recovering from an emotional abusive relationship, finds herself in Silverton in order for a fresh start as her late great-aunt left her in charge of Silver Rodge Inn. I loved how Wells slowly recovered from her past life, one day at a time. How slowly with the help of therapy & some new friends she finally finds her peace of mind. Even though she was closely guarding her heart, she couldn't help but fall for the Liam, the town golden boy.
Liam, owner of the town's ski resort, has his plate full by trying to save his family resort. But when he sees Wells, it's like a ray of sunshine for him. I loved how passionate & hardworking he was to save his family's legacy, solely taking the load on himself. I truly appreciated how thoughtful & patient he was with Wells.
Both of them were so kind & considerate towards each other, the romance felt genuine & authentic.
Gorgeous cover, breathtaking views, slowburn romance, beautiful small town & amazing side characters- everything was perfectly described & written. Can't wait to read the rest in the series!
Easy read - felt like it was not ending then realized it's part of a series. Fun setting in a canyon ski lodge small town outside of Salt Lake City, with a woman who is out of a controlling relationship who moves to the town to take over an inherited local inn, and a man who is struggling with a quasi savior complex to save his family's business. They meet, stories intersect, and the storyline begins. Fun read
This was such a sweet story! It’s a small town romance with a wonderful backdrop of snowy mountains. I could definitely see this being a great read during the winter months, but I still loved it in the scorching heat of summer.
With traffic into Silverton at an all time low, Liam, owner of the local ski resort, is concerned about its future. He was such a charming character and a real softy. I especially love the way he was respectful of the heroine and her skepticism about starting a new relationship. He allowed her full control and ensured she was comfortable every step of the way.
One of my favourite aspects of the story is the heroine, Wells, and how she is learning to heal from an emotionally abusive ex. Wells discovers that her late great-aunt left her in charge of the Silver Ridge Inn, giving her the final push to create a fresh start.
In general, I really appreciate that it showed how years of emotional abuse isn’t simply erased. Wells was very apprehensive and guarded towards Liam, often reflecting back on her past relationship, and it felt very authentic to real life.
”I can tell you, Wells, that I am most certainly interested in your mess. I’d like to be in it any chance I get.”
I’m so happy I found this one! A true, hidden gem! The secondary characters were fantastic and I can’t wait to see their stories in the following books.
Overall, I enjoyed this story. Liam and Wells definitely had some junk to work through and I was trying real hard not to be super judgy of Wells there at the end knowing what she had been through, but she was making me mad enough to shake her aggressively. I was glad when they finally talked like grown-ups because I couldn't have have handled it for much longer.
It was a tad spicier than I normally read but it was fade to black so nothing over the top but it may not be everyone's cup of tea if they read a lot of the same books I've read. But I have become invested in all these characters so I'm going to keep going with this series and I may even continue on to the spin-off series. We shall see where it takes us!
Wells is learning to enjoy life again after escaping from a past with her mentally abusive fiance. When her Aunt died and left her some money and the Inn at Silverton, it was the sign she needed to start over. The small town and friendly people gave her strength to move forward with a new relationship with Liam, the manager of the Silver Spring Resort. I loved the story and the characters are wonderful. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy a clean romance. I look forward to reading more books by Claire Cain.
Wells and Liam. A nice surprise to find Wells was related to Wyatt in a previous series of Ms. Cain's. An interesting, engaging read of a young woman regaining her identity and spirit and after being controlled and suppressed by an ex fiance and her parents. As neither was in a headspace for a relationship, Wells and Liam became friends first. It was good to see and feel their small-town connections and interactions. Liam's sister was a bit much and annoying and I hope she gets it back in spades soon. I like this author's stories. Good stuff.
This is an interesting book, good plotting, great characters (and at this point I really dislike Leo), and some substance to the entire story. Good clean romance as well! So, clearly this is the beginning of the story. Not a ‘real’ ending. Kind of guides you into the next segment of the story, which is the next book. Good thing for Kindle Unlimited, cause I would be upset if I had to purchase the next book to continue the story. This is good, I am just cheap! Liam and Wells story now will become either Bel and Jamie’s story, or Bauer and Leo’s story. On to the next book I go…….
Well written, though I felt a little annoyed at the dynamic of the siblings at times. Liam did things on his own without asking for help, and while the book talked about this it got kind of old that he didn’t care enough to change it. And Leo was constantly causing drama. The romance part felt a little fast moving for ppl who rarely saw each other. But overall it was a good story with some good friendships.
I've decided Claire Cain is my favorite romance author. Her books are clean without being squeaky clean, or preachy. Her characters feel like real people, with real problems, and she sorts them out realistically. Also, she writes male voices really well, and this book is no exception. I can't wait to read the next one!
Hey story about unexpected love and dealing with problems
I found the characters in this story to be unique interesting And well rounded. I found the plot to be Straightforward but I had a few twists in it. I think I will be reading some of the other books as I got so into this book and it was a quick and easy read.
I would of given this 4 stars. I need a wedding scene. I know I will get one later, but I needed a few things tied up.. I wish I had started this before reading Back to Silver Ridge with Wyatt.. I really enjoy reading Claire Cain's books. I feel like I'm in the town it self with the characters.
The characters were introduced well in the first book in the series. I want to know more about everyone! The idyllic setting in an isolated, yet tourist town was well described. I want to visit! Wells and Liam's romance is just beginning, but I'm anxious for more.
Really enjoyed this sweet romance! Wells is still finding her way through a rough patch, while Liam is struggling to be the hero he thinks his town needs. Love how these two grew together & learned to trust in themselves, each other, & their future. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
I really enjoyed this book. Not much suspense, but very sweet predictable love story. This was a free book for me and I did not order the next one,so technically, I don't know how their love story ends.
She’s been hurt and retreats to the in she inherited. He’s the town good guy, but he’s now looking for a relationship with her. She’s afraid but drawn to him. It will be a slow careful courtship that almost gets derailed by a remark by him. But he’s a good man.
I am a sucker for the fresh start/new town books. I loved the friendships shared, but especially loved the romance-sweet and sexy with no bad language and no graphic sex! Thank you!! Great read! I’ll buy every book in this series.
Liam ran the family ski resort and really wanted to make sure with his friend. Wells inherits the Silverton Inn in the small town of Silver Ridge. Tropes: small town romance, strong female heroine.
Wells has a new start in life and will learn lessons in forgiving herself and others in Silverton. Liam also has lessons to learn, like he can't fix everything on his own. It's a good story of relationships, communication, and priorities with a happy ending.
This was a wonderful contemporary small town romance. She inherited her aunts inn and he ran his families ski lodge. Many miscommunications finally settled when they opened up with their hearts. A good story worth the read.
3.5 stars. I didn’t love the romance between Wells and Liam but I loved the setting and the strong female characters. I also love that this is a series and I’m eager to move on to book 2.
Another great read from Claire Cain! This book whisked me from steamy sweaty North Carolina to the cool mountains of Utah. The lovable relatable characters made me wish I could fall in love again - and I’m happily married! I cant wait to read the rest of this series!
