Before The Second Show is a rockstar romance that has you captivated and feeling every beat of their hearts. An attraction that has remained for Emmy since she was 16. As the rockstar life does its damage to Alex, hearts will be broken and memories will be unclear. As time moves forward Emmy and Alex will cross paths again and that connection will be just as strong and the melody of their hearts might just be the rhythm that Alex needs to get him through a life altering time. An emotional story that will have you spellbound, on the edge of your seat, angsty and enraptured as you ride out the drama as it unfolds to an seductive love story. Emmy and Alex will steal your heart and cheering them on from the front row.

Before the Second Show is an okay rockstar romance. Emmy falls in love with Alex when she is 16 and visits a concert of Trace in Austin. She sneaks out two other time, and each time Alex notices her. That’s what she and her best friend think. Growing up, visiting College this love never leaves Emmy until she visits another concert in her senior year of College.

I liked the book but it did not hook me like other rockstar romances did. But it is an entertaining read.

I enjoyed this Book alot. This is my first book by this author but it will now be my last. The authors writing style is good and I was sucked in and kept turning page after page. The main characters are what made this story great, they were relatable and enjoyable. Life is fixing to become very complicated for them and I was right there with them through the ups and downs. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend.
Happy Reading!

Teenage angst, hopes and dreams, and young love that leave butterfly wings fluttering in your stomach.  Your first crush that gives you just enough promise of things to come.  All to come crashing down when you realize he doesn’t even remember you let alone love you.  Thia Finn delivers a story that absolutely shattered Emmy into pieces, over and over, and over.

Emmy fell for Alex, guitar god and first love.  When Emmy first meets Alex he gives her vibes and hopes. Ones she holds onto from her high school crush to her college desire. Unfortunately, her second meeting was empty.  Time to move on. So she did. However, no relationship seemed to hold her heart fully.

Alex was definitely your typical musician.  Sex, drugs, and alcohol reigned supreme.  Emmy was just one of many females that worshipped him.  Except he couldn’t remember her yet her ghost seemed intent on resurrecting something in him.

When circumstances bring them together, the timing is definitely bad, especially for Alex.  Personal issues and his health are factors he never anticipated but answers so many questions.

Emmy is taken but Alex wants her. Is she an obstacle or a saving grace?

Really enjoyed this first book of this new series. Thia drawls you into the story.
The character build up was spot on.
Emmy at sixteen fell in love with a Rockstar. Emmy in college had her heart shattered. Now Emmy has graduated and working in a realtor's office and grown up. She meets a sexy AF entertainment lawyer named Marcus. Man them bright blue eyes.....she's trying to do the relationship but something just isn't right. He-Man tactics and jealousy doesn't help matters.
She sales real estate so low and behold whom she is trying to sale a BIG sale too.Well let's say some crushes don't fade away.
What happens when your crush at sixteen could turn into so much more???
One huge obstacle and health scare to conquer.
And loved the mention of Assured Attraction, my.beginning of love I have for Rockstar genre of books. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
Oh I forgot to mention the hot AF sex scenes ✔
Sexy Rocker ✔
And a fast brilliantly written storyline ✔
I highly recommend this book.

Oh my god this book had me in all kinds of a tizz. I just didn’t want to put it down! With people who drove me crazy, *cough, Marcus, cough* and others who made me swoon (Alex of course, but special mention to Adam, Tig and Cray 😜) and a storyline that took me on one hell of a ride it’s no wonder I finished this in a day! Thankyou Thia for talking about real challenges people face both in relationships and life more generally and not just painting it out as a dreamy fairytale with no road bumps - I love these characters even more because they’re not perfect 🖤

Emmy and Alex are the second chance rockstar romance you’d love to have. Their story starts out years earlier and develops into the present day where it proves that what’s meant to be will be and love finds it way through in the end. A great story filled with hopes, heartache and of course a gorgeous rock star. What more could you want?

Before the Second Show
By Thia Finn
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading this book. Before the Second Show by Thia Finn pulled me in from the very beginning and I found that I didn’t want to put it down until I finished the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Emmy and Alex. Emmy fell in love with a rock star at sixteen. He, however, moves on with ease to his next tour. Years later life has a way of becoming complicated when she has one man wanting her and another standing in the way. Alex has never had a problem with women. He could have anyone he wants. What happens when someone from the past who he can’t remember reenters his life? Alex is finding that he is starting to have feelings/emotions for this girl. What does the future hold for Emmy and Alex? Will a life-altering battle change everything for Alex? Read this book to find out. This story has emotional moments. It also has moments when characters banter back and forth with each other and I found myself laughing. The characters of Alex and Emmy are likable, and I couldn’t help but care about what happens in their lives. I really enjoyed the character that is Emmy’s bestie and their interactions. Don’t miss out on a wonderful story that will have you reading late into the night to find out what happens. I would highly recommend reading this book.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn

5-Stars

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn was an excellent and addicting romance novel. I could not put this book down. I loved the characters Emmy, Alex, Adam, Marcus, and the rest. They were developed well, relatable, and realistic. The author did an excellent job in describing the look and personality of each. The storyline was easy to follow, organized, and had an easy flow. I laughed, cried, and smiled while reading this book. This was such an excellent novel. I highly recommend it.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn a five-star read that will rock you. Rockstar romance are a hard one to get right, so I usually avoid them unless I know the author and enjoy their style already, but I took a chance on this one and I am so glad I did as this was brilliant. This was such a fast paced read for one that spans such a great length of time, but it was so well done as you get to see Emmy go from wide eyes 16 year old, to a woman in her own right, but as we all know that first major crush has a lot of miles to it, especially when the guy your with isn’t all he thinks he is. This is a stand-alone, but there are so many great characters I would love to hear more from, I will be eagerly watching this author to see if this becomes a series as I will be reading them if they do.

All the Emotions

This book takes readers on a roller coaster of a ride. The band doesn’t do the normal rock band on the bus thing but deals with problems in real life. One problem being the girl Alex can’t remember. His problems not stop there though. He faces the consequences of living the rocker lifestyle, too.
Emmy adds problems of her own to the mix making this book well worth your time to read.

NOT for me, personally.
Story line was too juvenile and choppy for me.
NEEDS to see an editor!
Whole paragraphs that are placed in the wrong spot.
Story line that JUMPS from within two paragraphs WITHOUT cohesiveness.

5 Electrified Guitars for Before the Second Show

It's been quite some time since I have curled up with a Thia Finn book, and was a great reminder that I really need to do so more often. I know I have several others on my Kindle that have somehow gotten buried and I am going to make a point to push them back to the top of the list. She really is a joy to read.

This new release is currently a standalone, but I will be at the top of the cheering squad to beg for it to be the first in a series. I definitely would like to see more of the band Trace and get to know the rest of the members better! This book focuses on Alex Trace, lead guitarist (and guitarists are always a great place for me to start! Hehe)

This isn't quite your typical rockstar romance, and I like that. Emmy is not your typical heroine, and I like that too. The book starts with a teenaged Emmy at Trace's last local concert before they start touring the world and falling into all the typical rockstar trappings. The concert seems better suited to Emmy's BFF Rylee (who is another character I am looking forward to getting to know better) but Rylee convinces Emmy that Alex is so into her, in the way that only 16 year old girls at rock concerts can do. Emmy is very sheltered to Rylee's wilder nature (yeah, I identified more with Rylee when looking back at myself at that age.) Somehow that chapter on their lives ends with a fairy tale-esque kiss that happens to be Emmy's first and leads to her being convinced she is in love with Alex in a happily ever after way. When she gets a chance to see him again in college and he doesn't remember her, she is crushed - but she hasn't been a complete hermit all the time and continues to move on with her life and career. She's never really found that kind of spark with any other man, but a chance meeting with a guy who, on paper anyway, seems to be almost perfect for her, as she's getting established in her real estate career, she dedicates herself to trying to make a relationship with Marcus work. She's headstrong and doesn't take any crap, but she does try.

At least until fate brings Alex back into her life, ironically because of Marcus. I don't want to delve into spoiler territory, but Alex is a fascinating character who is facing a major, life changing issue at pretty much the same time. I truly loved this twist, and hope that doesn't say terrible things about me.

Alex's big brother Adam, who is the lead singer for Trace, plays a big role in the story too and I am left wanting to get to know Adam much, much better by the time this book ends. This book truly belongs to Alex and Emmy and my desire for more Adam has nothing to do with them, for the record.

Alex is pretty much the perfect rockstar romance hero. He's got the fairly stereotypical rockstar flaws, but he's got great soul and swagger.

Highly recommend for all my rocker girls.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn
4 of 5 Stars
Before the Second Show is a rock star, second chance romance between Emmy and Alex. Alex is the rock star guitarist and he and Emmy meet and fall in love at sixteen when she sneaks out to see him at a gig and they meet backstage but Alex soon has to move on as he has more gigs to play. Emmy is aware that falling in love with a rock star and at sixteen is not a good plan and she tries to forget her encounter with the sexy guitarist. Five years later Emmy is happily in a relationship with Marcus and works as a realtor. Marcus who is working with Alex and his band, and has no idea that Emmy has a past with Alex recommends Emmy when Alex and brother Adam need a realtor. Emmy is then annoyed when Alex seems to have no memory oh her and shows no recognition, however although he does not remember her he does feel a pull towards Emmy and finds her intriguing. Emmy has also never forgotten Alex Trace and has never really felt the same chemistry with anyone else. Fate brings the two back together and a change in circumstances in Alex’s life brings the two closer together and makes Alex realise what and who he really wants.
I’m not usually a rock star romance fan but I loved this book by Thia Finn and fell in love with her diverse range of characters. I was cheering Emmy on as a giggly sixteen year old with her first crush, sneaking out to a gig and falling in love with sexy Alex Trace and was fascinated by her change through the years to a more mature women, with a good job and stable relationship but who still had a bit of the sixteen year old Emmy in her when it came to her feelings for Alex, her first love.
Rock star and rock god guitarist Alex was a fantastic character, obviously good looking and a typical young man who has had women throwing themselves at him as he toured the world with his band. I enjoyed seeing how the relationship between Emmy and Alex developed especially after fate seems to bring them back together and give them a second chance at love. I found the dynamic between the two and how it changed from their first encounter was very realistic. The secondary characters, such as Alex’s brother Adam and the rest of his band were all fascinating characters in their own right and I would have liked to have seen them have their own stories but this is a stand alone book.
A complex rock star, second chance romantic story with a twist and with a great range of characters and a storyline that kept me hooked from page one until the last page, I definitely recommend this book.

Thia Finn does it AGAIN!! Before the Second Show is another rocking romance. So beautifully written with a story that will draw you in and bring out all the feels. The reader can relate to the heroine, Emmy. Who hasn't fallen in love with band? Who hasn't had a wild crazy dream of being loved by a rock star?
Who hasn't had that dream crushed when their object of infatuation doesn't return their love?

Emmy is crushing on Alex Trace, an up and rising rock star. When she meets him backstage after the show and gets her first kiss, she is completely over taken by the belief that they are meant to be. Emmy doesn't get the chance to find out because he is soon on a world tour. The next time she is able to see and be with Alex, Emmy is devastated to find he don't recognize her.

Finally back on her feet and back in the dating game Emmy meets Marcus. An all around good guy Marcus finds himself falling in love with Emmy. Having no idea that she is still nursing wounds that he is going to reopen. Enter Alex…

I wish I could continue with talking about the book but if I do you won't get to experience the ups, down, questions and answers that this book has. Finn has such a way of making you feel deeply to her characters, of making you hate the fact that reality exists when you have to put down the book. She will make you beg for the next book and the next. Her skills as an author are astounding. Thia Finn brings the heat and the heart in a way that will stay with you long after the book ends.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn is a superb Rockstar romance. It is my first read from Thia Finn- and wow, have I been missing out on some great reading by not having discovered her sooner. Something I plan to rectify now, by diving into her catalogue of books in the very near future.
I will be completely honest here and let you know that initially I chose this book as a bit of a ‘palate cleanser’, after some really intense stories left me with a heavy book-hangover. I wanted something light and fun, an easy read to get me back on track. While this was all those things- I definitely underestimated the story- because even though I knew I would love it (because, DUH- Rockstar romance, what’s not to love), I found that I loved it far more than I thought I would. It only took a couple of pages into the book, and I was hooked- avidly reading to discover where the story would lead. I became far more invested in the story and the characters than I expected- which made this book a fantastic ‘surprise’.
While there were times I didn’t like where the story was headed, or what the characters were doing- and times I wanted to shake some sense into them- I still couldn’t tear myself away from the story, and ended up reading it in one sitting.
There were a few little issues which confused me- but in the end they didn’t detract too much from the overall storyline.
I will definitely be reading more of Thia Finn’s books- I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me!

Thank you, Thia Finn!

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn a great read it really spoke to my heart. This is my first book by Thia and I loved it. I did want to have words with Emmy at times but the overall story and Thia’s writing wormed its way in and I could not put it down once I started it. Alex needed to realise that there is more to life than drugs, sex and rock and roll and Emmy need to find her way from teenage crush to womanhood. Now they are both a little older and wiser they are just where they need to be in life.

Emmy fell in love with a musician as a teenager and thought he felt the same way only to realise years later he had no idea who she was. Left devastated at the time but now as an adult she was finally in a place to open up to a relationship. Unfortunately, fate wasn’t done with her heart and once again she finds herself in the same place, she left behind so many years ago.

Alex lived the life a musician and rode the path of indulgence but after years of being on the road he wanted a place to call home. Now his past is finally catching up to him, there is one thing that he finds he needs more than anything, even though their paths had crossed before, but he doesn’t remember.

I truly enjoyed this story and was sorry to see it end. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

This is my first Thia Finn book but it definitely will not be my last! This was so well written! I was immediately drawn in and absolutely fell in love with Emmy and Alex! Well, maybe not so much with Alex but I definitely grew to love him! LOL!

Who doesn’t dream of meeting their rock star crush??? But what happens when you do meet them, more than once, and they don’t remember you at all? You’ve spent years between meetings pining away for a guy your 16 year old self fell in love with just to find out you meant nothing to them. Just a blip on their rocker radar! This is the life of Emmy. Now hardened to men. Even when she meets a great guy, she can’t totally fall because of how devastated she was by her past.

Alex, super hot, typical rocker…a life of sex, drugs, and rock and roll. Now he’s trying to get himself together and finds himself face to face with Emmy, who he still doesn’t remember but who he is completely drawn to. Problem now is not just that Emmy has hardened herself to him, but that she is now also taken!

This was such a great story! I loved following along through the lives of Emmy, Alex, and the rest of Alex’s band! 5 Stars for Before The Second Show! I am looking forward to more from this author!

Before The Second Chance is a fantastic rock star/second chance romance novel by Thia Finn. I had never read any of this author’s work but I do love rock star romances and also second chance romances, so I just had to give this book a try. I’m so glad that I did as I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
16 year old Emmy falls in love with guitarist Alex Trace when she sneaks out to go see a show and meets him afterwards. When they share a kiss she’s totally besotted. Fast forward 5 years and when she meets him again after a show she’s totally gutted when he doesn’t remember her.
By chance she meets him again a year later when her current boyfriend Marcus, who works with the band, gets Alex and his brother Adam to use Emmy as their realtor. Although Alex doesn’t remember their first meeting he’s intrigued by the beautiful Emmy and she can’t get him out of her head. When Alex becomes ill, they are become much closer.
I really loved this story. It is very emotional and it’s fantastic storyline and characters will keep you gripped throughout. Alex is a very troubled young man who thinks he doesn’t deserve true happiness due to his actions in the past. Can Emmy be the one to change him and be his HEA? I suggest you read this book and find out. It’s a fantastic read!

Before the Second Show
By Thia Finn
5 stars

It’s been a while since I have read a good rock star romance story so when I saw this from Thia Finn I couldn’t wait to dive in – the blurb had me hooked before I have even begun. Thia Finn is also a new to me author so I was also really looking forward to reading something by someone new!
I loved this story! It has everything that I love in a rock star romance and there was a second chance element to the story too which was great too! I have to say I went into this story expecting one thing and I got something completely different! Poor Emmy! My heart broke for her so many times when it came to her feelings for Alex but I loved that she was so determined and motivated in other areas of her life.
Alex was everything I wanted and more from a rock star god! I am definitely a fan of his!! I loved that there were some unexpected things with his character like with the storyline – all of this definitely had me captivated by this read from beginning to end!
I would absolutely love this to become a series, there are so many secondary character who I would love to find out more about and I can definitely say I am very much looking forward to reading more from Thia Finn in the future!

Emmy falls in love with a rocker but her intuition knows it’s a bad idea from the start. What makes it even worse is she’s 16. But she doesn’t mind it since he’s on the way to his next gig. She trusts the universe to guide her as life is complicated as it rewards her as much as it lets her down. Or at least that’s what she tells herself. She’s caught between two lovers as her past and her present collide. She wonders if she is gonna choose the wrong one.
Alex knows he’s got issues but the ladies is one problem he’s never had. He believes he can be toxic. Only to be reunited with a past flame that he can’t seem to remember. He doesn’t try to stake claim since she belongs to someone else. Life is complicated as he sees it as a road bump on the road to success with his goals in music on sight. Deep within himself, Alex knows with a life-altering battle, he wants someone of his own. Someone he knows he wants and who knows him. But how will he go about convincing her. As time winds down, he knows he’s in for a fight to get what’s his.
This book is worth the read as you ponder who deserves what and why. You find yourself rooting for each character’s sense of happiness. I loved reading this book to see which way it’d turn out.

Before the Second Show is a beautiful second chances rock star romance by Thia Finn. It is the first book I have read by this writer and I know that from now on I will keep my eyes out on anything new that she releases. I absolutely love second chances stories and I also love stories that span over long period of time (whether in actual narrative or simply jumping the years and giving us the experience of those years passed).
Before the Second Show gives us Emmy and Alex. Emmy is our young teenager filled with angst and dreams and in the throes of a young love that goes unanswered, Alex is your quintessential musician – sex, drugs and rock’n’roll! Add to the mix Marcus, a guy who is perfect on paper and seems just the right man for Emmy to move on with and leave the teenage crush behind …
As it is a story of second chances then it is not as simple as it could be and the writer takes us on a rollercoaster ride. She gives us banter and she gives us craziness as there is a whole gang aka Trace band members along on the ride that makes it even wilder and makes us hope that Before the Second Show is just a beginning to a series that we all rocker girls, young and mature, want to go back to!

5 stars!

Great book by Thia Finn. I really enjoyed the aspect of the characters being in a band. It always makes for a fun read, with some twists and turns because of the lifestyle those characters lead. Alex being the lead guitarist in the band Trace has all of the temptations of someone in the spotlight and famous, so how he would remember one girl, one kiss, one night after a show is beyond me. Emmy, bless her heart, thinks after her first kiss, and with a rock star, she is in love makes me cringe. When they meet years later and he doesn’t remember her, of course my heart breaks for her, but I also am thinking how naive she is and is pleased to see her grow into a stronger woman. The storyline is wonderful. I loved following along with Emmy and Alex to see where their story would end, if it would end with them together or just in heartbreak and mess.
The secondary characters were awesome. Adam, Alex’s brother and Rylee, Emmy’s best friend are nicely written in, and wouldn’t mind seeing a story about each of them. Overall would 10 out of 10 recommend this book, it is filled with drama, romance and music making for a wild journey.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn

5 ++++ Stars

I sincerely enjoyed this story. This is my first read by Thia Finn and now I'm left asking myself Why? She was able to take a book about a rockstar and make me love it. I really don't like rockstar romances..that is until this book.

From the character development to the dialogue with the characters I was pulled in immediately and found myself not being able to put the book down. The way the story flowed made it also go faster than I expected and before I knew it I was done. She writes in a way that makes you think you know what’s going to happen and you even keep waiting for it to happen and in the meantime it goes a totally different way. That’s my favorite part about reading!

I loved the friendships in this story and the family aspects as well. I am so hoping there is a book about Adam...seems there is a story there and I’m pretty sure all in the band have stories to tell and I will be reading them all if this author blesses us with them.

I highly recommend reading this book, for me I love finding new authors especially when I find one I can’t wait to read more from.

Loved it!!!!!!

Before the Second Show was a great way to start off 2020. This is the book that I will be comparing to other books. I will carry the emotions throughout the year.

I will hold Emmy's broken heart, cradle it, and smile when she finds the strength to take it back. I will happily hold the flashlight for Alex on his emotional journey. I will cherish the satisfaction I felt as Emmy grew strong, capable and determined.

I don't read blurbs. I like to be surprised. I like those "oh my word" moments. I like to choose who I will like, who I will root for and who I will despise. I like the story to grab me. Before the Second show gave me so many of those moments. It was AMAZING!!!!

I don't consider this book a love triangle but a dramatic triangle. Thank you Thia Finn so much drama. Thank you Thia Finn for giving me a memory of my youth, standing in front of the stage, trying to get the attention of the band. Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through Emmy.
