I never really know how I should write these things. Do I go the professional, but boring route and talk about myself in the third person (which feels unnatural), or do I do first person, like a dating site? Sadly, second person doesn't work here, that would be cool.
Something like: You are looking at the profile of GoodReads author A.S. Oren. You know she is a cat person, and owns three of the little fuzzy things.
I digress. I live in Colorado, born and raised here all my life. Like you read above, I have three cats and want a big dog (perhaps an Alaskan Malamute).
I love writing, it's one of the few things I get joy out of and know I'm good at. I've been doing it off and on since I could draw and think I was writing words with backwards sevens and squiggle lines.
I currently work as a ghostwriter, graphic artist and editor.
Feel free to friend me or message. I like getting to know other people who like reading and writing, too.
This was the first book book from this author and it wont be the last. This book was a quick read for me. Right off the bat you know something is up with Evie, that something has happened and when then boys come back into the picture they realise how much she has changed since they have seen her, but when you finally find out all she has been through it truely breaks your heart . This book had the passion the secrets the heat dammm the heat. This book is RH so you've been warned .
They had it all. They had love, their careers were taking off, and their dreams were coming true. Evie had just gotten a major recording deal for her guys' band but after their first concert, she disappeared. Ten years and not one word. Now they have found her but she's not the same girl they once knew. She's broken. She drinks too much, she smokes too much, and her smile is gone. The guys need answers. What happened? Why did she leave them? Does she still love them? And all Evie can think about is running again.
This is my favorite story by Cleo Fox to date. I love that it's standalone. It's nice to get a complete story. I love contemporary RH; it's my personal favorite. It's a solid, compelling story, very realistic, very painful. The characters are a bit older and life has not treated them all kindly. There were fun side characters. It had a touch of M/M thrown in and I enjoy that. My only complaint is that I had the original version so there were lots of errors. I won't deduct for that because I saw the note that an edited version has been uploaded. Good enough for me.
I really loved this story. There was so much emotion especially with regards to Evie. And I love how the boys never wavered. I ugly face cried when the door was opened (avoiding spoilers).
However.. this read like a first draft. I don't mention errors unless it truly affects the reading and there were so many in this book that I got yanked out of scenes so often I couldn't really get sucked in. If this had had a decent editor it would have been an easy 5 star for me.
With my reading time often cut short by life, standalone like Yesterday are precious to me. I love a good series or trilogy story but sometimes i like to have closure at the end of a book. This story was a page-turner and an emotional read. Evie went through some rough times and 10 years later after leaving her four chilhood friends and lovers without any explanation, but you can somehow guess what happened to make her leave, she has a second chance at love with them. Told in multiple POV from Evie and her men, this story pulled me right in and i couldn't put it down. This was my first Cleo Fox read and it sure will not be my last.
Probably not many people will understand this reference, but I wish we could take this book and meld it with the CR Jane trilogy that has a similar premise. Both have great plot points that just miss a bit of depth.
So I don’t want to make this review long, but I had pros and cons of this book. First of all I remember seeing this book either in December 2019 or January 2020 and was excited to see it release on the 7th. February 7th (it could be January I can’t remember) I was disappointed to see it pushed back a month, but I found a new series. Then in March, on the day it was released it once again got pushes back. Dissapointed, I moved on and today I found out it has seven reviews. I will admit the cover, title and plot hooked me in. Now the story itself was a good story, just too quick. I wanted more. It felt so rushed in the end, and it’s nice to read if you have kindle unlimited, but I wouldn’t spend money on this book. It’s disappointing that I waited 3 months for this book that I read in an hour. It’s a nice, relaxing book, but I felt like it had so much more to it. It could have easily been a series or least 600 pages, and there are many sections it glazed over. One thing I loved though was that the men weren’t manwhores and the main female character had moved on, something that’s quite invisible in other rockstar second chance books, with the man a manwhore and woman innocent and naive.
Overall it’s a good quick one hour read, but I felt like it had so much more potential.
This book is shorter than most, but it is well written, easy to read and adorable. Although the men in the RH don’t have strong characters and no individual backgrounds, the reunion of the harem is meaningful and sweet. The FMC has a more complete background, and a few flashbacks to back when the harem was happily together a decade ago. the story focuses on what happened, what happens with the FMC and RH find each other again and the future.
This book is perfect for after you read a heavy, long book.
I would hesitate to call this a novel, more like a novella, since it's super short-I think I finished it in less than an hour. Our main female character finds herself lost to depression and substance abuse when her rockstar past boyfriends reappear. I enjoyed the premise, and have read other similar books, but this book was just too short to fully develop the story. Not one of the characters was developed enough to form their own distinct person in my mind. Also, this book needs an editor to go through it and give it a good cleanup as the many typos are super distracting.
Completely saw the trauma coming, and saw the happy ending. There were no real surprises in this book, besides her being strong enough to handle a rh relationship but not some unwanted advances. She should of run straight for the men she suddosedly loved. Sounds like an excuse, but thats just my thoughts. Without it, you wouldn't have this trauma and story line, so I get why it had to be there.
I really liked this book. I wish it was longer. The past memories of how they got together were interesting, but I wanted more. All the MC 's were so genuine. I felt empathy for Evie and what happened to her. So happy for the ending.
Highly recommend this book and author. I love reverse rockstar harem stories. Will be reading more from this author.
Reads like a novella. Similar storyline to other books. Had great potential if the storyline and relationships were expanded and built upon. FMC runs from boyfriend band. They find her 10 years later. They tell her they love her and she loves them. Takes the rest of short book to find out full reason why. Story over.

This was a quick read for a lost woman who loved a band before they were a band. Does not go into the rocker life style and only brefily mentions their love before. Takes place over a week with flash backs.
This was a beautiful story of love, loss and second chances. I felt for each character further the story progressed. So much heartbreak and pain and a beautiful story that ties together well.
The story was ruined by the flimsy (non plausible) reason doe vie to desert her four bandmate lovers. No penetration, no r4ape, merely some clumsy fondling and wild accusations to destroy6 the band. Weak writing.
It was a cool story but it dramatically needs an edit. The flip on her feelings was a bit unbelievable but everything before that was great. Just wish someone edited the book. Sorry was good otherwise.
This is my first Cleo Fox book and I'm sure it won't be my last. Yesterday has a great premise and I'm always a sucker for hot boys in a band. And Evie is an interesting heroine; she tends to evolve and overcome quite a bit with the boys' help. If you are looking for a quick, Contemporary, Second Chance, Rock, or Why Choose Romance, then Yesterday should check all of your boxes. 4 Enjoyable Stars!
