Dragon Wars #6

Monarch Madness

Rate this book

In a world of devilish thieves, lizard men, and evil necromancers, the blood brothers battle enemies who are determined to destroy them all.

Together again and fighting their rivals, Grey Cloak and Dyphestive are plagued with a new mission.  Tasked with stealing a valuable magical artifact from the crypts of the Monarch Castle, the brothers must go undercover and infiltrate the enemy.  But pulling off such a meticulous heist may be even too difficult for these brave brothers.  Taking on unlikely and untrustworthy allies could result in their immediate death.

As the walls begin to close in, the brothers and their company must defy the odds in order to save themselves. But is their greatest enemy waiting for one false move to take them down once and for all?

If you enjoy epic fantasy, filled with the gamut of elves, dwarves, halflings and orcs,  along with mages, thieves and warriors to dragon riders, then you will devour the mysterious and brazen adventures of Grey Cloak and Dyphestive.

Author Note: This series was inspired by middle-schoolers that demanded more dragon fantasy. If you’ve read the Chronicles of Dragon series, you’re certain to enjoy this. If you aren’t familiar with Halloran’s works, but enjoyed Percy Jackson, Dragonlance, Percy Jackson, Fablehaven, or R.A. Salvatore’s Legend of Drizzt series, you’ll quickly discover these party-based adventure books are right up your alley.

in Monarch Madness, the sixth volume of his epic "Blood Brothers" series, author Craig Halloran pulls off a huge surprise. Nope! I'm not going to tell you what it is. No way! You will have to get busy and read it for yourself. If you have followed the story so far, I guarantee that you will be shocked and amazed.

In series after series, Halloran has proven that he is a master at creating complex and likeable characters. He also creates plenty of thoroughly unlikeable villains, monsters, and other assorted life-endangering obstacles. Just precisely the sort of stuff top-level fantasy and sword and sorcery fiction is made of.

It is no wonder Craig Halloran is an award winning, best selling author.

Enough chatter! Get to reading Monarch Madness as soon as possible!

Highly recommend!

Grey Cloak and Dyphestive go undercover to steal an artifact from the monarchs. An artifact to trade for Zora.

This T&YA Coming of Age Fantasy is accomplished. This story details the
arduous task of planning the operation, penetrating the castle, stealing the item, getting away with it, and trading it. Along with overcoming the unexpected pitfalls. This adventure demonstrates the exceptional skills necessary for a game master to provide an entertaining event while plugging the holes left by the gamers. Overall, this tale is well orchestrated.

Entertaining. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

This is yet again another brilliant book in this series. Fighting to get one of their crew to safety and to do so break the law with a seemingly impossible theft this involves some cunning plans by the blood brother and introduces us to some of the citys monarchs and their outrageous ways.
I absolutely recommend reading it .

Ups And Downs

Grey Cloak and Dyphestive and their friends seem to lurch from crisis to victory to problems to betrayal. It is an exhausting time for the blood brothers. Subplots abound and keep the series weaving like a dragon in flight. I recommend this book.
