I am overwhelmed by this book! It is now my new #1 and that says a lot about a book. Britney poured her heart out in this book. I don't want to say too much about the book, but I will try to put into words what the book is about. Fiona is running from her captor, Pierre, and finds refuge at an inn in Maine which Matty (agent) helps her to find refuge there. Jeremy, the inn keeper helps her deal with so many things and his whole family Lila, Jeremy's wife, Kelly, their daughter, and her friend Autumn help (Darcy, Fiona) deal with the past slowly, slowly. Darcy (Fiona) has dealt with so many things in her life and it is slowly revealed little by little in this book. She doesn't know how to trust anyone, but yet she slowly is able to trust Jeremy-her rock during this time. Then enters Killian who is the rich, debonair, musician who sees so much more in Darcy than she can see in herself. He just wants to be her friend, but Darcy doesn't know how to be friends. Slowly, slowly she lets him into her world. She is so afraid...will the evil Pierre find her. (No one in Maine knows about him). Abuse, neglect, evil is what Pierre is to Darcy. Rightfully so!
Britney hits on some hard subjects in this book, suicide, child molestation, trafficking, ugliness, but she does it in such a profound way. I have never read a book like this before...gracious, kind, breath taking, awe inspiring. Worth every moment I spent reading this book!
**** A TRUE MUST READ!!!! ****
I want to thank my friend Stephanie for sharing this book with me and praying for me through this book. :).

The imagery in Finding Freedom paints a beautiful picture of a quaint coastal town in Maine and the Irish countryside. But even more so, it paints a picture of a good God who pursues his children.

Any reader could find themselves in one of the characters of this book, and therefore see the unique ways in which the Good News can transform them.

As I read the last page (at 1am!) I was encouraged in my faith - remembering that God is still working in the hearts of those that are far from him, even when we can’t see it. I have a refreshed heart for those with no hope, and and a renewed passion for the importance of everyday discipleship.

Thank you, Britney!

This well-written Christian-based contemporary family-interactive and romance full-size novel maintains one's attention throughout. It involved many ongoing social issues to include dysfunctional families and how it affects a child's mindset and self-esteem into adulthood. It also touches on child/sexual trafficking and domestic physical, sexual and emotional abuse. It revolves around the long journey of both Fiona and Killian, despite their gifted skills, and their need to give their lives to Christ in order to truly love and heal. Well-worth your time to read this extended novel for those who enjoy this genre.

Before I ordered this book I had seen some great reviews for it but I didn’t really know what to expect. It was AWESOME!!! I found myself reading it every chance I could get or put aside for myself, especially while waiting for my son to fall asleep at naptime or bedtime :). This book immediately pulls you in with mystery and action. It grips your interest with relatable characters and a storyline that keeps the pages turning. I absolutely loved it, recommend it and will be looking forward to the next book, Finding Forgiveness . God bless and happy reading!

Britney Hamm delivers a stunning story of grace and freedom in a package that won’t let the reader quit until every last page is devoured. She masterfully gives the reader just enough information that one is desperate to find out what happens next. The story is both patient and high paced. A beautiful display of God’s grace, she contrasts those who are lost in their brokenness against those who are lost in their goodness, showing that both are the same in their need for Christ. The characters are relatable and incredibly real. Don’t let the length scare you off, I finished it in 2 days!!

Finding Freedom does precisely what a beautiful story has the potential to do: pull you in, keep you engaged and lift your thoughts and heart higher than yourself. Britney tackles very real and poignant pain with compassion, and take you on a ride down that path of empathy. She doesn’t leave you with skin deep fixes though. She points toward the nature of true healing through the Creator God who entered into our suffering in Jesus. Thank you, Britney, for sharing yourself with us through this fascinating story!
