In the wintery ash left by Mt. Rainier’s eruption, bands of people work to survive.
More than one criminal organization jockeys for the best position to take advantage.

This draws the ire of local authorities—and the attention of a much more dangerous foe.

Experience the disasters all over again from the perspective of new characters.

…A charge nurse who must triage someone she loves…
…A retired Ranger whose bugout doesn’t go according to plan…
…And a professional sniper hell-bent on extracting revenge on a slippery monster…

I enjoyed reading the first two books in the Cascadia Fallen series. And because I live in the Westsound area of Puget Sound, it really hit home.

I will be looking forward to reading book three when it comes out later this year.

NOTE: The second book gets a bit “rough” in describing what the “bad guys” do to the “good guys.”
So, read the books first to judge how well they would be received by the more sensitive members of your families.

Fabulous reading

I think this author is excellent, kept me from wanting to put the book down. I cannot wait for the final book in this series. Knowing that it takes place in the area that I live in is just as amazing as the writer. I recommend this series to every reader.

Better than the first

Believable characters and a gripping story. It throws you into the heart of what a catastrophe would be like in the real world. The characters grow, the new ones are compelling. The only issue, which honestly isn’t the writers fault per se, is that this book has MANY pov characters. Which can make reading the ones you don’t like feel like a slog through mud to get to grass. Overall it is an excellent story.
The only other thing I would say-the high stress language, is laughable. If I were about to die, being forced to fight my best friend. My internal dialogue would not be ‘kiss my brown butthole’.
The author may have a moral aversion to it, but people in high stress situations curse, and it really breaks the immersion sometimes the language is so neutered. If you are willing to describe a rape, a person is a firefight can yell F*ck.
Again, the story overall is excellent. I’m a slow reader-and read this book in like 6-7 days.

It is our duty to be ready.

I read Mr. Chambers first book and became a fan. I waited eagerly for this sequel and was not let down. It picks right up where Hammer left off, introducing more characters that bring well thought storylines that mesh seamlessly. These books make you think. Will you be ready? Not just for the initial event, but the chaos that comes after? How will you handle a Cartelification of America?

Get out your notebook as so many new characters are introduced it is mind boggling. The story bounces around the state bounces back and forth in time and tries to tell too many stories in one book. Still interesting and worth reading. I hope in the third book the story is less chaotic.

A tremendous sequel

A little harder to follow than the first book in the Cascadia series, primarily because of the increased number of important characters to keep up with. I also read this book cover-to-cover in two days. I can’t wait for the third book. Very original and constant surprises in the book.

This fantastic second book is as riveting as the first. I am truly hooked in the lives of our main characters and the struggles they face. Very hard to put down once started. Great story and very well written.

Good reading and interesting subject. A bit too much god and MAGA vibe. Dropping the kids off at the pool really? We know that was the rights favorite jab at Obama's kids. A bit disappointed. It also makes liberal leaning people out to be weak. I guess the author has a limited friend base.

I loved this story but it had too much sexual violence for my tastes so I didn't finish. Local author, local setting.

Bad Use of the English language makes for a Bad Read

While the plot is OK, the improper use of grammar drove me nuts. It really interfered with the quality of the book.
