REVEL IN THE TORRID SUSPENSE WHEN UNBOUNDED LUST COLLIDES WITH MERCILESS BOUNDARIES.
A strict, Catholic nunnery in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts.
Beautiful, virginal, and always mischievous Sister Monica lives a pure, contented life at the Convent of the Blessed Virgin. Besides her pranks, like the other nuns she spends her time in holy contemplation.
But when smokin’ hot Brett arrives to help renovate the building, she gets the chance to contemplate something far more thrilling—naughty feelings of desire she’s never felt before.
Meanwhile, it’s iron-fisted Mother Superior Antonia’s duty to safeguard the purity of her young charges.
Will the reverend mother’s teachings be heeded, or will carpenter Brett teach Sister Monica a whole new way to handle wood?
Welcome to my world of romance! Because, why just live a life, when you can live a romance? I’ve been an Amazon Bestselling writer for many years in various genres under different names, and now it’s my great pleasure to contribute my voice to the romance scene as well—considering romance flows through my veins, it may as well flow from my pen! I live in New York City, a place of glamour and excitement that has been the one constant lover in my life. I’m passionate about travel and exploration of any kind—I live for adventure. And whether I’m pursuing romance on my laptop or between the sheets, I always have a good read on my night table.
Overall, I enjoyed this one! Brett was great and the perfect hero. And although I did miss the Mother Superior's antagonistic presence this book was well done with solid development. I really like the series specifically the nun/convent aspect. It's a little taboo but super enjoyable.
I have read and review book 1 in the Nasty Habits series. I got to 54% before I DNF this book. This book was just not for me. I won a kindle edition of this book from goodreads giveaway, and this is 100% my own opinion.
Forgive Us Our Trespassed is the second stand-alone book in the Nasty Habits series. After reading Sweet Salvation I was eager to dive into this one and know more about the mischievous sister Monica. Yet again Lily Miles managed to captivate my attention with a sweet and heartwarming story.
Monica has always wanted to be a nun. Even though her family wasn't religious she has always felt drawn to the church. As a child, she attended Catholic school and at age eighteen she decided to dedicate her life to God and the best way to do it was to become a nun. Her faith is strong but life at the nunnery can be dull, and Monica manages to spice up the lives of the sisters by doing pranks and riling up Mother Reverend Antonia, even if that earns her severe punishments. There is mischief in her heart and maybe something else too, a yearning for more that lied dormant for years since she has become a nun. Things change when she meets Brett, the young apprentice carpenter who helps with the nunnery renovations. He awakens new feelings in Monica's heart and a curiosity that makes her question if living as a nun is her true calling.
I loved the protagonists, Monica and Brett were perfect for each other. Monica is such a sweet and innocent girl, with a quirky personality. She brightens up the place wherever she is and even though her nun sisters might be annoyed by her pranks, they're also very protective of each other. Brett is hardworking and kind and treats Monica with all the respect she deserves as a woman of God. Their chemistry is strong from the beginning, and he tries to fight it knowing it's not appropriate to feel desire for the redhaired nun but with each interaction and conversation, he starts falling in love with Monica and her effervescent personality. Their relationship starts out slow but it's well worth it because, in the end, they are explosive together.
"If this is sin, then I don't want to be saved."
I also enjoyed the secondary characters. Seeing sister Catherine again was a delight and the new arrival at the nunnery, sister Summer definitely intrigued me. We got to know a bit more about Mother Antonia as well, her inner struggles made me see her with different eyes.
The story is told from dual POV, interlaced with third-person narrated chapters and i found that this writing style works perfectly for these stories. The plot was well developed, with both angsty and funny moments. The action was fairly paced, peppered with drama, steamy scenes, and intrigue. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading the next installment in the series.
I received a copy of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest review!
How amazing is it when you get to enjoy nuns on steroids?! There's more to nuns than just their black habits--it's UNDER the habits where the fun starts. Passionate romance plus a healthy dose of suspense. I'm eager to see what happens next in Book Three.
This book was really awesome read great characters hot steamy loving caring easy to read page turner can’t wait see what next this Nun series is really awesome Monica and Brett story well written I'm ready for book 3.
I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Uh wow. This book is bananas but not really in a good way. The premise is pretty strange but there have been other romance novels w other nuns or initiates who fall in love but this is the first one I’ve read that seemed deeply deeply inaccurate. I’m not catholic but from what I can tell, neither are the characters... bc they are some of the worst “nuns”. They are petty, violent, cruel, and greedy. They wear lingerie and seduce strangers. The mother superior doesn’t want the nuns to leave? I think generally if a nun has decided to give up her calling, she can. It’s not a prison. Honestly, the nunnery had more in common w the Shawshank Redemption than reality. So 1) dont read this book if you want any grounding in reality. This is not how nuns work, how a clinic works, how carpentry works. I think this is a version of the world as retold by horny aliens. 2) don’t read this book if you want grammar. There are some very strange sentences and paragraphs where I literally lost track of what was happening bc it changed topics so quickly. Also for a nun, she knows a lot of dirty words. 3) don’t read this book if you are looking for well developed characters and chemistry. The two main characters actually spend very little time talking for the first half of the book. Most of the book is like intranun politics and backstabbing w the occasional lesbian baiting. I don’t know why they lke each other, besides they are both mutually attractive? 4) where is the catholic guilt? Isn’t that some huge thing? Isn’t she a nun? She doesn’t really seem to have much of a relationship w God (her spiritual husband) 5) what is up w Summer? There are so many random side characters who don’t seem to do anything. They don’t really seem to advance plot or help define the main characters. Most of the nuns are there to be sexy sexy nuns to ogle or like villain henchnuns or like sexy henchnuns bc sexy. I understand like having a B plot but Summer’s story just seems to be included so they can have more boobs and genitals and random seductions even though her reason to be there makes no sense. It’s not like the medieval period where nunneries could be like prisons...you can leave and they aren’t supposed to abuse you in random naked ways. This book made my brain explode. No. Just say no kids.
I actually really enjoyed the book. I know it’s such a forbidden romance but that’s what I loved about it more. All I gotta say is that I was straight out shipping all the nuns with anyone who showed interest hahah, this is coming from a catholic. But it’s fiction so it’s cool lol. Besides that, I sorta hated mother superior Antonia throughout the book. She legit took credit for everything she didn’t do and then convinced herself that that’s what she was going to do before hand.
“Perhaps she’d been thinking aloud and Ruth overhead her … Surely that was it. Those must have been Mother Antonia’s ideas all along. They had to be. It’s not like Ruth could come up with all that on her own.” -like cmon lady own up to everything if your being as evil to the nuns for doing things half as bad as you.
All I wish is for a future hea for Catherine, the twins, Grace, all the nuns, to know about summers backstory, and to surprise y’all, even throw mother superior towards Henry cause there was definitely a connection there!
This book is a breath of fresh air. Sister Monica is a young nun who feels mostly content with her life. Her only cause of suffering is Mother Superior Antonia, who runs the Convent of the Blessed Virgin with iron fist. Brett arrives there to help renovate the building, and after a small accident, he meets Monica. The instant attraction between them is strong. Now they can´t stop running into each other arms and trying not to be discovered by the rest of the nuns, especially Mother Superior Antonia. Can they find a way to escape the Convent? Is Monica ready to leave behind everything she believes in, to explore her love for Brett? I really like this book. It’s sweet in a way that calls my heart. But at the same time is sexy, and struggle with social boundaries and believes. There are a few interesting side characters. I highly recommended it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m truly enjoying this series! In this book the focus is on mischievous sister Monica who finds her match in Brett. I loved these two together, they were just perfect for each other! There is a slow build up to their relationship filled with sweet and heartwarming moments. As expected, secondary characters again really added to the storyline. Sister Catherine is my favorite and I can’t wait to read her story! And new addition to the nuns in convent also has me all curious! I was also surprised by Mother Antonia’s struggles, it definitely made me see her in new light. Can’t wait to read the next installment!
I received a complementary copy of this book from author and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This is the second book in the nasty habits series and continues on from book one but this book features a different couple. Sister Monica lives in the convent and despite wanting to be there she is the prankster of the group. Then enters Brett, one of the new builders and Monica begins to experience feelings she has never felt before. But as before in book one Mother Superior Antonia is always in the background, watching!!! This is an easy book to read and follow and definitely features steamy scenes between the two main characters. Then you have all the background characters that definitely keep you entertained.
Miles pens another great story in Forgive us Our Trespasses, a new story in the Nasty Habits Series. I've read the first one, Sweet Salvation, and looked forward to reading this one as well. This was a good sequel and it followed the first one perfectly. Each nun has her own story, faith and perception, as well as personalities. I think there are more stories to come from these nuns. I get the concept of the story, and the introduction of Brett, but found it interesting that he would get attached to Monica. It's a good story with great character development. I look forward to reading more by this author. This book is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.
I really tried to give this a shot and keep an open mind about this non traditional romance. The writing was fine, but I couldn’t get over the subject matter and the characters. Monica seemed way too childish. I guess nuns aren’t experienced sexually, but her responses were almost like a 12 year old. Brett was fine but I don’t know why he would be so attracted to a nun when he could probably have a more mature and not so complicated relationship with a secular person. The things going on with the other young nuns in the convent were also out of character for devout women.
I enjoyed this book in the series more than the last one and I am definitely interested in the reading the next one in the series. You could really feel Monica's dilemma of her faith for God and her love and lust for Brett. You really get to get to know the sister's personalities. Mother Superior Antonia has the mentality of a warden. I can't wait to read her story. I would run from her too. The storyline fit in with the scene and nothing felt forced. I really enjoyed this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I had no idea what to expect with this book, but I was intrigued by the really unusual setting--in a convent! The Mother Superior is entertaining enough with her sadistic antics. But of course, the compelling romance steals the show. Sister Margaret and hella hot groundskeeper Trevor take us on a journey of discovery, passion and ultimately, true love.
A nun who likes to prank, meets up with a hot building renovator who comes to renovate the building. You can already figure out what happens. He gives her lessons in less than morally desires in a world of innocence and purity.
Throw in a iron-fisted Mother Superior who job is to keep her flock pure. Nothing special.
Book was ok - not what I normally choose to read but was a free Goodreads book for my Kindle. Story was an adult "fairytale" with some pretty steamy sex thrown in.
