When a lethal drug targeting paranormal citizens is unleashed on the streets of Atlanta, Hadley hits the clubs to pin down the dealer. The party is just getting started when a mysterious fae with his own agenda offers her a taste of power she can’t refuse if she wants to purge the evil from her city.

Hadley already owes Natisha seven beating hearts to satisfy their bargain, but the price the fae demands from Hadley might as well be her soul. He strips away her tiny spells, her necessary illusions, and leaves her bare to face judgement from the one person she never wanted to see her truth.

Now Hadley’s fate rests in Midas’s hands, and all she can do is hope the future she glimpsed for them doesn’t slip through his fingers.

I absolutely loved this... the changes these characters are going through as they grow is amazing and they're all attaching themselves to my heart!

Remy is fantastic, unique and a very unexpected delight. I love her resilient character and how loyal she has become to Hadley.

Midas has my heart now, he has always been the hot one but his personality, again, is growing and his character and interactions with others is becoming a joy to read... There are other things that happens in this story that leans me more toward Midas but spoilers are definitely not my way!

All of the characters are changing, the storylines are becoming more intense as we head towards the finishing line and I absolutely love reading about this world. This series is still an unexpected delight!!

This is third in an Urban Fantasy series and story and character arcs build over books. I definitely recommend reading in order.

The plot ramps up a bit, but they're fighting a new drug. And giant cockroaches. Zombie cockroaches. Which are all kinds of creepy, but wore on me after a while. I guess I'm kinda over the whole fae coven thing? It's an amorphous threat with no face and no motivation beyond "we want Atlanta to be ours." Which is fine as a motivation, but it's not much of a personality.

I do like that Midas and Hadley are progressing as well as they are. I mean, secrets come out and they don't always handle them perfectly. But they talk about it and figure things out and work to do/be better. And I like all of that, even when I was exasperated for a bit.

And I think I'll end it here. Four stars for being mostly pretty good. It's just the plot/bad guys holding me back, I think. I am glad that they harvested multiples of the required hearts and that Edwards doesn't seem to be drawing that out irrationally.

A note about Steamy/Chaste: They're fully "mated" during this story and Midas mostly moves in with Hadley. They're having night cuddles. But there's no sex, yet. Or, well, there's no sex-sex yet. We get enough this time that I can't call it chaste, exactly. But it isn't so much that I can call it steamy, either. So this one is neither because . . . fine, details in the spoiler so if you want to tell how you'd gauge it, you can.

Change of Heart is book three in the Potentate of Atlanta series by Hailey Edwards. Its another intense action-packed installment that delivers laughs, swoon worthy moments, and intense battles.

Potentate of Atlanta is a spin-off of the Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy and set in the same world. It’s a redemption ARC for Hadley along with her growing as a power, learning to control Ambrose and for her to realize she is enough. You do not have to have read Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy to read this series, but Potentate of Atlanta does need to be read in order.

We continue the over all ARC of the evil coven and killer cockroaches that just won’t die. This storyline is well developed and I had lots of emotions while reading Change of Heart. Hadley is continuing to develop in her skills and knowledge to become Potentate. She has doubts, but she is building her allies and friendships. I look forward to seeing how she handles the matters in Atlanta.

The biggest change in this installment is Hadley’s relationship with Midas. She’s his mate, but he hasn’t told her all the details; because he hopes to build their relationship. They slowly get to know each other better and their past and secrets are revealed.

Change of Heart was a splendid read and I very much enjoyed. Fans of Urban Fantasy should pick this author up. I highly recommend reading.

3.5 Stars.

I have been waiting for this book since the last one was released. The hours I had to wait the day it was released even felt longer, I wasn't about to spend $3.99 to preorder when in would be available on KU after 4 hours, those 4 hours though.

While waiting I skim read the first two books to fall in love with Hadley and Midas all over again. This book was nice but it was missing something. It took me all day to finish this book, I stopped reading it so many times to do some mundane activity, it's unlike me to do that with a book I have hyped so much especially since I read the other books in the series and loved them.

The big reveal about Hadley wasn't even enough to move me. The next book sounds intriguing though, the family going to Atlanta where they are bound to cause chaos. I also wish Hadley would power-up, I'm not ok with her being only strong because of Ambrose, every time he throws his little tantrums she's as weak as a kitten. I'm not digging that. Can't wait for book 4.

I will continue to marvel that I like this series so much more than I expected, and I really like who Hadley has become. Midas pulled a serious dick move, but he recovered before I could hate him too much.

Overall, the relationship was really the primary arc of this book, but I'm fine with that. This was a secret that desperately needed to come out. I do feel a little ripped off, though, that she didn't explain it all to him. and honestly, as a reader, I'd like the explanation too - her actions in the Grier/Linus series were pretty awful. So much so that I put off reading this series, because I didn't want to see Amelie get everything she literally killed to get. I'm mostly over that now - Hadley feels like a different person - but I'd love to get context.

The continuing arc with the witch-born fae felt somewhat low-priority, but again, I was fine with that. I think Natisha is the real long-term problem anyway, tbh. This coven is just fodder to get us back to her, to complete that deal. But I enjoyed it.

Plus, the secondary cast in this series is just stellar - Bishop, Remy, Tisdale, Ford, Lisbeth ... and guest appearances from Linus! What's not to love!

Re-read August 2022
On the re-read, I feel like I understand why we don't get Hadley telling Midas the story of her past - it's just better for the reader to not have that all refreshed in our mind. Amelie/Hadley did some awful shit in TBGTN, and for any reader who came from that series to this one, it probably took some time to get past. And part of how we have gotten past that is by coming to know Hadley as a different person, a person who got a restart where she gets to make her life without the framing of family and Society and expectations. Hadley - perhaps minus Ambrose - is probably who Amelie would always have wished to be when she grew up, if Amelie could even imagine herself in a role where she was a vital person to others rather than window dressing in an important person's life. Hadley is Amelie choosing to be the main character in her story.

And so it is better to not revisit what she did in TBGTN, because there isn't really an excuse for it. There might be reasons - info we're getting about the abuse she suffered at home - but not an excuse, because there are some things that are inexcusable.

Also, with the perspective gained from my current re-read of both series ... I think my first time through TBGTN I hated Amelie much more than in my re-read, and that was mostly because emotionally I was so invested in the utter injustice of that world, of the Society. We have Grier, our lead character in TBGTN, who was imprisoned in the worst dungeon imaginable at age 16, for a crime she didn't commit ... without even getting a trial. Horrific injustice, and Grier struggles with PTSD from it. Then we have Amelie, poor little privileged girl (because sure, she's Low Society, but also rich) who actually murders people in her quest for more power - there's no other reason that we can see in TBGTN, just that she says she needed power to keep people safe (which was a lie - she wanted power because she was jealous of High Society, and that was demonstrated repeatedly) - and the only result is honestly a slap on the wrist. Yes, she's disowned by her family ... though she hated her parents, only loved her brother, and he stood by her. Grier stood by her, even paying her fines and taking her in. Linus successfully argued to keep her out of prison, just got her on 6 months of house arrest at Grier's place. The injustice of that world - Grier tortured in prison despite being innocent; Amelie pretty much getting off scot-free despite murdering people - was enraging, and Amelie was an easy target. But with fresh eyes in a re-read, her story was more tragic than villainous, and even in the end of TBGTN she was redeeming herself, helping Grier, organizing aid, etc.

So again, better to not really revisit it. I get it now.

I liked where the story is going for Hadley as the apprentice POA, and how her relationship is progressing with her and Midas- as well as the team.

However, the coven and mutant bugs plot was not my favorite to read...kinda goofy.

But I will def read the next one bc I can't wait to find out what is going to happen when I feel like that's going to be an amazing/crazy mess!

This was another loaded installment. It delivered plenty of swoons, laughter and intense battles. To win Hadley will need to rely on alliances, faith, and a whole-lot of Ambrose.

This series is a spin-off of the Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy and set in the same world. While it isn’t necessary to have read that series, I recommend reading the Potentate of Atlanta series in the order of release. Relationships, ARC development and more build off the previous book.

Midas takes Hadley back to his den. She meets the pack and momma. Eep! The two strengthen their bond, but an unwanted gift exposes Hadley’s secrets. Will Midas run or fight? Will she accept the bond mate? I won’t be sharing those deets. Spoilers darling! You must read it and find out.

Those killer cockroaches won’t go away, and someone needs to stop the coven. The storyline for the ARC is well developed, with multiple threads that keep me flipping through the pages and on top of this series. Edwards has become a favorite. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Continue to love Midas and Hadley. They are just so endearing . . . neither is perfect and both are trying to make up for their pasts. They come together and make each other better and stronger. As with the first 2 books in this spin off series, there seems to be something constantly happening to move forward with the story AND the romance and I just cannot stop reading these books.

I have a conflicting love&hate relationship with this series!
I can't come to feel more than a mild interest in each single character, but I'm so curious to know what happens to them all together!
I found myself unable to stop reading, even if I had the impression everything was a bit too hastily thrown together this time, so I round up the 2.5* to 3.

I had some difficulties following some phrasings, and some plot choices felt really weird: there is no definite enemy - Blithe was a dead end - there's talk of a generic coven but we still don't know who they are, not even at the end of the book. For such poewerful beings, also sneaky and highly invested in using Hadley as a pet-potentate, I can't believe they patiently waited at a distance for their enemies to regroup and attack, rather than trying to take possession of an unconsciuos and unprotected Hadley immediately. And they waited over half an hour!
Considering Smythe potential usefulness, you would think it was in their best interest keeping his favor, not betraying his trust killing all his beloved beasties. Also, wouldn't the roaches be necessary for the antidote?

I still can't develop sympathy for Hadley/Amelie, and i would have gladly smacked her on the head several times for her annoying vocabulary and the habit of always attempting - not - funny jokes, even in the middle of action/dire situations.
But above all for the pity party she entertained for the whole lenght of the book. As well as a good head butting with Midas: him for being aware they had to talk and clarify a misunderstanding, but choosing to bypass it and run away, anyway, and her for the ignoring text thing.
They both acted more like rollercoasting-hormone-ridden teenagers than adults.
Even if with his going to Savannah, now everyone should know about the relationship, and I can't wait for Grier and Lethe's reactions.

I couldn't see how they both grow from unwelcome physical attraction to love.
But I greatly appreciated Midas' choice of words in support of his commitment
You saved my life. A couple of times. You're smart, brave, and dedicated. Whatever you tell me won't change any of that

and Hadley's refusal to blindly submit to the fated mates cliche
I wasn't in a 'fated mates' frame of mind. Midas could call me Empress of the Universe, but that didn't make it true. I wanted a choice, and I wanted him to have a choice. Both halves of him.

Grier loves you, an Linus admires you. Lethe envies you. Mom respects you.

I think he is exagerating a bit...

We finally know the details of Mida's past, so that's another moody thing out of the way.

The visit announcement was the most thrilling thing, and can't wait for the next book to see what happens, but didn't Boaz cut ties with his mother? Wasn't Dame Pritchard distanced from her family too? I guess I have to reread the Necromancy Guide!
Also, I really would like to understand the timeline between these 3 Potentate books and the Epilogues: it feels unreal - and confusing - for events here not being mentioned there, and viceversa.
Oh, and let's not forget the free serial focusing on Boaz and Adelaide: how would the visit to Atlanta fir with that storyline? Curiouser and curiouser!

Pure, abandon-the-world-I’m-reading, heaven!! I know everyone has their favorite authors and every author has their own distinctive voice. Well, Hailey Edwards voice, style and creative storylines are my crack. And this series, along with the previous Necromancer series, is the perfect example of why I can’t get enough. It’s all that urban fantasy aspires to be - with a dash of humor to keep it delightful.

In this installment, Hadley’s secret comes to light and MIdas has to choose how to deal with it. Hadley’s life has been such a horrible string of events and choices that have shaped her. Because of them, her character is both strong and resilient yet insecure and vulnerable. This mix is so well-written that I honestly had to sniff tears back multiple times while reading the story.

The witch-coven/martian roach storyline continues throughout and, although the overall conflict is still in play, we get to see some progress and closure for this particular installment (hallelujah!) So, no cliff-hanger ending!!! Still there are SO many roads left to travel and questions left to explore in both Hadley’s personal life and in the world as a whole, that the minute I closed that book, I was hunting down any information as to when we’ll get the next book in this fabulous, addicting series!!!

* Just a note of warning* This is NOT a standalone - it must be read in order to fully understand both plot and characters.

I have so very much love for Midas and Hadley's slow, kinda messy courtship. They're both balancing on a knife's edge and they have a hard time believing they're worthy of being loved and it's both heartbreaking and sweet at the same time. Heartbreaking because of the pasts they've experienced and sweet because their breakthroughs (when they finally come) are outstanding.

Did I mention the messy? Because there's a whole lot of messy.

Throw in a Hadley's more-often-than-not dangerous job, the potentially deadly bargain they made to save Ford's life, and Midas's place in the pack and the messy turns even more complicated. Hadley clutches her secrets close to her vest and she really, REALLY doesn't want them to come out. But, then, Midas does the same. They both have a hard time believing the other will still love them once those secrets are revealed. So Hadley's sudden unveiling (and Midas's knee jerk response) throws a bit of a wrench into their budding relationship.

Since this book isn't all about their relationship (despite how I've gone on and on above), let's move on. Things are moving forward on the beating hearts front. Hadley is coming to realize she has friends she can call on despite herself. Bad people are doing bad things. Ambrose is... well, he's a wild card. He has his moments of not-terribleness and I don't know what to think about that.

I'm hardcore loving this series. Watching Hadley and Midas slowly push back against the past so it doesn't grip them as tightly is fantastic. Seeing friends rally and mama Tisdale make an effort for Hadley is great. *thumbs up* all around.

Well....this book sure covered a lot. I liked that we started out with happy things. Hadley and Midas revealing in their courtship and enjoying all that it brings. I have to say that the addition of new character Samzilla was great! I hope there is more with him as he gives Midas a run for his money with Hadley!

But it was the middle part that broke my heart, as much as it did Hadley. I hated how she was manipulated, along with Midas and her secrets came out to him and in a way that she couldn't control, easing the knew knowledge. I hated how it seemed to break something precious between them, even if things were patched up later. I thought Midas's words were good ones, ones that showed he thought about his actions, knew how much they hurt Hadley and how the truth didn't matter to him. I liked that this time he choose Hadley with eyes wide open and even let her have a part of that. But those words were small in comparison to his actions later during the heat of battle. With the one action, one that Hadley, might never learn about, still showed how he was choosing her.

And that battle at the end...so epic. I loved how all the different factions came together, even a new one, how they fought on the same side, to claim their city and protect their people. I'm glad that they won and look forward to seeing how it will hopefully help things in the future.

There a special place in my heart for novels about second chances. And this series is all about both giving and receiving second chances.

Potentate of Atlanta is a spinoff of Hailey Edwards’s earlier series Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy and in my (unpopular) opinion my advice is to read them in order to best understand the characters. Now, you don’t have to, to keep up with the basic plot. You could in fact start with book one of Potentate and keep up plot wise. However, when I read (personally) I want to best understand the characters. I want to stand with them, see them get back up when they fall, see them grow, hear their back story, cry with them, charge into battle, grieve with them, laugh with them, I want to be able to root for a character from the very tips of my boots to the tips of my hair. That’s just how I read 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Here we are in book three still at odds with the shapeshifting witch coven and as off the wall as I know that sounds if you aren’t an urban fantasy reader. These things are straight out of a horror movie to me. Ugh! Add in the Martian cockroach things and 🤢 yeah.
So there’s plenty of baddies to go around. Luckily, there’s also plenty of badass warriors.

Hadley’s character arc is continuing to develop as is her relationship with Midas, beta of the local pack. Their relationship is an interesting one. They both came to the table with a lot of dark struggles. I love the fact that Edwards has written characters willing to work on themselves instead of believing goo-goo eyes 👀 and sex fix everything. News flash it doesn’t.

Hailey Edwards is quickly becoming one of my favorite urban fantasy authors.

Hadley is such a flawed and insecure but very determined young woman, and Midas has his own demons - they’re perfect for each other, if they can get past the mistakes they’ve made and look to the future. There is a lethal drug on the streets of Atlanta, and the coven is responsible. Hadley and her team, with the help of Midas, will have their hands full trying to keep the city safe and take down as many of the coven as they can. A run in with a powerful fae reveals more to Midas than Hadley ever meant him to see, but knowing more about each other just may bring them closer together. Hadley is a great character and despite her terrible past, she’s making up for her misdeeds every day, and growing as a person. I love how Midas is changing as well, and beginning to believe there might be some happiness to be had in his future. With plenty of dangerous and deadly activities, it was great to see progress made against the coven, but I know there is plenty more trouble to come before it’s all said and done. I’m looking forward to the next book, to see what happens next.

4.5 Stars... First and foremost, I absolutely adore the relationship between Hadley and Midas... The interplay between these characters is witty and smart and just plain fun, yet there is an underlying vulnerability and sensuality that fuels their connection... I enjoyed their journey thus far and held my breath throughout this read as their secrets are revealed and the past is confronted... Hadley's inner voice can be destructive due to her experiences, but the growth of her character is showing as she combats that voice with her own affirmations and new relationships... Midas demonstrates bravery, honesty, and openness as he confronts his own nightmares for the sake of Hadley... Beautifully written with just enough angst to fuel the fire but nothing over the top to take away from the moment... As always, the adventure and action packed sequences bring an energizing dynamic to the read as these paranormal forces collide in what appears to be an oncoming war for Atlanta... I am hooked on this series and want the next read right now:)

I was so excited to see this book come out. This author is one that I always enjoy her books especially since all her books are different, not the same but with different characters. Don’t get me wrong, I do like that too, it’s just nice for the change. Hadley and Midas are such a cute couple and I’m so glad that they got some of their issues out of the way in this one. I know they still have a little ways to go, but don’t most relationships? The side characters, too, have such a life of their own and I love them that I’m already picking out the ones I want to get their own series. LOL! There was only one fly in the ointment: it seems this book started in the middle of something even if it didn’t. I know that’s weird to say, but it felt that way. However, I enjoyed every minute of this book, and I can’t wait for the next one. Highly recommend.

Secrets come out, new alliances made

This book really gets more into the weeds of Hadley’s and Midas’ backgrounds. As the coven continues wreaking havoc in Atlanta Hadley tries to navigate the problems they cause and the deal made with the fae healer as well as her relationship with Midas.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. Lots of funny parts, times when I was livid, and times I was in tears. I’m looking forward to where we go from here.

Okay, this is another series that I started and then got to the point that the next book wasn't out yet (or the audio wasn't available). Anyway, it had been a REALLY long time (and many books) since I was back in the Hadley world and it took me a little while to remember. But, once I did, it was easy to jump back into the action.

The funny thing was that I immediately liked Midas. Why is that funny? Well, because at this point, I couldn't remember what the story arc was with those two (come on...you know as well as I do that sometimes the good guy ends up getting the shaft) So...I was afraid to become completely invested until I just thought..."what the heck...just go with it" So I did. And I just went with it.

This was a very easy and fun read/listen that moved the story arc along but for me, helped me to remember who was who, who Hadley's friends were, and WHY she was trying to save her city.

In other words...it was great.

Gotta go...more books to read....

Review copy was received from Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I loved the Beginner's Guide to Necromancy series. They are all on Kindle Unlimited as well as this new series, The Potentate of Atlanta . It is with some characters from the original series. Hadley, ie. Amelie,  is now living in Atlanta training to be the POA.

Change of Heart felt very different to me. Hadley continues to battle the fae coven. She is developing her skills and knowledge to become Potentate.  In spite of her own doubts,  she is building friends and allies.  Remy is turning out to be quite the assistant.   While she didn't expect it, Linus, Grier and Addie have been helpful to her, as well.

The big change has come with her relationship with Midas.  He has set her as his mate, but hasn't told her all the details hoping to build their relationship.  He is now living with her.  Through the daily battles with her work,  they get to know each other better and their past and all its secrets are revealed.  I really appreciated this character progression and thought it added a lot.

The situation with the fae really blows things up and they will certainly continue to be a problem.  I don't know that the investigation or battles seem any more strategic or planned.  It is hard to be proactive when you are attacked.   I look forward to Hadley's handling of matters as Potentate with better support and more developed talents.

Narration:
Rebecca Mitchell is Grier for me and also Linus. She performs male and female voices well. However, all the female voices are very similar and the male voices are mostly alike also. I barely distinguished her Hadley from her Grier voice. Ford sounded too much like Boaz for me.    I listened at my normal 1.5x speed.

Hailey Edwards has done it again with “Change of Heart.” Not to give too much away but this book is a pivotal moment for Hadley and Midas. It was a fun roller coaster ride filled with danger, action, secrets and revelations.

Hadley and Midas are enjoying their playful courtship; however, Midas hasn’t told her that she is his mate. Of course Midas’ mother still wants to have dinner with Hadley and she is unwilling to accept another lame excuse. We get to meet the latest and cutest new characters, Samzilla. Yep, you heard me right. He is a two year old cutie who garnered the moniker Samzilla rather than Junior.

On a more serious note there is a new drug being sold out of a club that affects her para faction differently. Hadley has to diffuse a naked Gwyllgi Alpha and his pack from running rampant in her city. Additionally some teens have gone missing while a few have been found dead. It’s clear, the coven is at work attempting to take over Atlanta and they welcome Hadley’s involvement to launch their own agenda. Did I mention, there are mutant roaches in this very fun installment? Yep, just one more thing for your reading pleasure. Lol.

In the midst of all of this, Hadley’s secrets are about to be revealed and Midas is devastated. Will this be the end of their very promising beginning? Of course, he has a secret that Hadley is unaware of as well. My, my, what a tangled web........

I gobbled this read down in one sitting and was looking for more. I love this series and can’t wait for the next book. Let’s hope it is coming out soon.

I’m loving this series, so much in fact that I’m way behind in reviewing because I am gobbling these up as quick as I can! I also have completely determined that this series is better than the original (Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy), though we need to get through that to get to this wonderful place.

Hadley is wonderful. It’s refreshing to be in both her head and Midas’s, which seems to be evening out and I love it. The snark, the laughter, the love, is all just perfection. They also balance each other out in wonderful ways. This book is about the yucky yucky yucky “drug” that is being distributed among paranormals and humans alike. It comes from a truly terrible source, and of course they need to stop it from killing their kind (an “unfortunate” side effect).

Also, coming off the heels of the previous book, they need to collect hearts from the evil coven that’s after them. It’s gross and terrible, but that’s the deal that was struck. This book also unblinds a member of Hadley’s team, which is a nice side-effect of the weird magical interference. I’m happy that we might see everyone pair up and be happy by the end of all this craziness. I do really mean craziness because there is a surprisingly large amount of explosions, damage to the main characters, and fire around. We get to meet more supernaturals, too, and even get a glimpse into Bishop’s background a little more. Loving all this and highly recommend this series!

I really like Hadley's storyline better than Grier's. The Kate Daniel's parallels aren't as obvious in this one. And we still have Linus!

Finally we get

The romance moved well enough, with the strife and the eventual make up. I liked the mystery of the Martian roaches. I really think Hadley is hilarious. I laughed a whole bunch of times. The author did finally address the small elephant in the room; Bishop mentioned that when Hadley calls him Bish, it sounds like Bitch but of course Hadley demurred. LOL

I am also glad that Ford and Hadley made up. Bishop, I like a LOT! And Remy was fantastic in this one. She came out as the Echo she is to practically every one.

The action was nonstop! The only thing that I have issues with is how often Hadley loses her possessions. Fire, bombing, moving etc. I had issues with knowing that she literally safety pinned her bra. However, I don't get how she can have a bra that old considering she's had to replace her entire wardrobe three times by this book. I really hope that she is able to wear decent clothing for the rest of the series. I am not asking for a lot. Just leggings and a tshirt with underwear that's not literally falling apart will do.

The torture of waiting

Honestly, my only problem with these books is waiting for the next instalment. They leave me perpetually wanting more because they are similar to The Beginner’s Guide to Necromancy, only they feel more developed in terms of the author’s writing style. This series has more cohesion than either The Black Dog or TBGTN or even the Bayou series and I enjoy the complexity of these characters more.

All that being said, I do have minor quibbles about this book. The structure of this book has an interlude in which Midas visits Savannah. The first epilogue of TBGTN (book 7) would make so much more sense if it took place during Midas’s visit and Hadley hadn’t been included in that book. As the author further develops the relationship between Midas and Hadley, their behaviour toward one another in How to Kiss an Undead Bride makes even less sense. I am also concerned about the ongoing mystery of Bishop, Remy, Ruel, Blithe, Natisha, and the coven witch-born fae. Grier, her father, and her grandfather are all “last seeds”, but the author skipped right past the bit where last seeds are supposed to be sterile. I like the characters and mysteries of the POA books so well that I sincerely hope that they receive better treatment.

Secrets Revealed

•••NOT for the homophobic, transphobic, closedminded or faint of heart!•••

This series must be read in order. It also must be read after "The Beginner's Guide To Necromancy" series as it comes first. The first book is "How To Save An Undead Life". The second book is "How To Claim An Undead Soul". The third book is "How To Break An Undead Heart". The fourth book is "How To Dance An Undead Waltz". The fifth book is "How To Live An Undead Lie". The sixth book is "How To Wake An Undead City". The seventh book is "Shadow Of Doubt". The eighth book is "Pack Of Lies". This is the ninth book. I can't wait to read more!

Hadley has been keeping Ambrose in line but it is always a struggle. With an unknown and dangerous new drug on the streets her control is more important than ever. Courting Midas adds another layer of complication even if it is a mostly welcome one. Can she keep her secrets? Is it even fair to try? Will be ever forgive her the kids she lives? What troubles him so much he has night terrors? Will be ever let her in? Who is behind the new drug? What are the witch born far up to? Will she be able to collect the seven beating heads as she promised? How will she live with herself after?
