Incredible, intense, and intoxicating, Ladies Man is an all-consuming friends-to-lovers romance that wraps itself around your head and heart—relentlessly tugging and tearing, never letting go. With the pages as the canvas, the mesmerizing and meaningful words are painted, flowing into feelings that touch every part of you. This beautiful, broken, and brilliant book bleeds into you. Belongs to you. Becomes you.

Like the rest of Katy Evans’ enticing and emotional reads, Ladies Man is claiming and consuming me as I read just the first page. I can’t stop devouring these powerful and poignant words that are stealing my thoughts, becoming my dreams. Emotions flow fast and hard, pouring off of the pages. This story just began and I already don’t want it to end.

The build-up is slow. Steady. Swoon-worthy. Sensational. Pure magic. I don’t have to read much of the book to realize that Ladies Man is more than the title. More than the striking cover with the gorgeous and rugged Viking staring so intently. More depth. More passion. More meaning. More everything. For several hours, this book became my world, blending with my reality as the words—each full of meaning—spoke to me with lessons of hard-fought love and life.

Oh Tahoe Roth. Malcolm Saint’s best friend. My valiant Viking. Beautiful and broken. Blond hair. Blue eyes. Yummy facial scruff. Tall. Muscular. Rugged. Cocky. A Golden God.

“Tahoe Roth is hot to the extreme. Six feet four, at least two hundred pounds of man. A power box of testosterone.”

Regina ‘Gina.’ Rachel Saint’s best friend. Beautiful. Brunette. Brown eyes. Curves in the right places. Ever since she turned him down a year ago, Tahoe has invaded Gina’s head.

“You’re staring at the guy who’s been haunting your dreams, and you don’t know what to do about it. What to do about him.”

Gina doesn’t want to want the tantalizing but terribly annoying Tahoe. Perhaps a dirty night with one of the leading players of Chicago will do the trick. At his birthday party, Gina offers herself on a silver platter to Prince Player, a night where she plays vixen to his Viking. One night to screw him out of her head for good. One night to taste Tahoe and then feast elsewhere.

"I’m not a one-night-stand kind of girl, which is why I’m giving you the chance only a few others have ever had. One night with me.”

Holy shocker. The Tahoe Train turns her down. On his birthday. A present that would have changed his life and hers.

“I’ve got nothing good to offer you, Regina.”

And just like that, only three percent into the story, my heart starts to crack for this complex but caring man.

“You need a guy who will always be there for you. One who will never let you down.”

“And you need a thousand women to make you feel good, and I’m only one.”

“Friends then.”

Friends who fantasize about each other.
Friends who should be lovers.
Friends who walk a fine line towards more.

“I hadn’t realized I was stroking his chest. He’s watching me with a heavy-lidded gaze. The air thickens with awareness. Our eyes hold. His expression is so hungry, and inside that gaze is that primitive look, so intense it borders on pain.”

Push. Pull. Push. Pull.

This cat and mouse game runs rampant as they are friends but aren’t.

The desperation. The attraction. The need. The want.

The angst and anticipation burn as they pull me over the edge, teetering in hope where I struggle to balance as my emotions are suddenly scattered everywhere.

“He may look like an Adonis, but there’s a darkness in his gaze. Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one who sees it. I see it now as I stare at his gorgeous, haunting face, with a shadow of a beard and full pink lips that I continue to see in my dreams.”

It’s New Year’s Eve and once again, Gina and Tahoe find themselves at a party. Nearing midnight, they have no choice but to kiss. That kiss. It’s electric. A game changer.

“God, this mouth belongs to me, this mouth was made for me.”

Their chemistry is insta-hot. Electric. Palpable. So much anguish as Gina and Tahoe struggle to remain friends when they are already so much more.

“No one is the way they seem. We all hide little pieces, either because we don’t want to be judged, or because we don’t think we’ll be understood, or simply because we don’t want those pieces of us to belong to anyone but us.”

Oh how I’m falling in love with Tahoe. Protector of Gina. Her tamed beast. Her T-Rex.

Tough but tender. Fierce but loyal.

This man wears many layers as does Gina. Tahoe shields himself with meaningless sex to dull a painful past and guard his heart while Gina wears a mask of makeup as a barrier to suppress her emotions.

“I’m bare—more self-conscious about my face than I am about my body. My plump lips and wide, expressive eyes. And right now, Tahoe Roth is taking it all in. Taking all of me in.”

Each is wearing a mask that only the other can unveil as they are kindred spirits. The calm to each other’s storm.

“He’s looking at me as if he can’t get enough.”

The words are arrows piercing my heart, pulling it into this story as I’m consumed more than ever. The passion pours off the pages as I feel it all. The feels start to freely flow. I feel the desperation of Tahoe and Gina. Their hunger. Their anguish. Everything.

The friends who see each other inside and out, but are afraid to take a chance. To ruin what they have. Afraid to get burned again.

“I can’t get on the Tahoe rollercoaster. Maybe before, when it would be a one-night stand, it was an option…I am so scared to get hurt again. To get hurt a thousand times more than I ever have.”

The story is over but the feels don’t stop flowing, as Ladies Man still holds on to my heart. Happy tears. Hopeful tears. Sad tears. Sappy tears. I swooned. I sweated. I ached. I anguished. I lusted. I loved. HARD. All of it. I love Ladies Man so very much as this book is like Tahoe: full of many layers. Deep layers that penetrate it all: heart, head, and soul.

A sweet surprise. Ladies Man is a hidden gem. So much more than a troubled billionaire romance full of heat. It’s heavy on heart too. It’s even more than a hard-fought friends-to-lovers romance. Ladies Man is a story about hope. Healing. Self-discovery. Self-preservation. A book that is meaningful, lingering long after the story has ended with a valuable life message: Don’t change your true self for anyone as when you do, you risk losing your best you.

Five fierce and fabulous stars

Title: Ladies Man
Series: Manwhore #3
Author: Katy Evans
Release date: April 26, 2016
Cliffhanger: No
HEA

It really pains me to have to give this book such a rating, I really expected when starting this that I'd be falling all over myself in excitement. Sadly, that's just not the case. No matter how hard I tried to fit the square peg in the round hole, this book wasn't the right fit for me.

I finally had to admit defeat: I didn't like Tahoe Roth. In addition? Gina wasn’t a particular favorite either.

There. I said it. When you don’t like either main character of a book, there’s a serious problem.

I say this with all due respect to the author, because some of her books have been top favorites that I've read and re-read over the years. Typically, I love her writing. She has a phenomenal ability to create the most intense and raw chemistry between her characters. It's the kind of erotic tension that pulls so taut that it has your chest fluttering in anticipation. I didn't feel that here. Tahoe and Gina's odd and convoluted relationship towards each other had me shaking my head in either bafflement or anger.

Gina and Tahoe are both best friends to the main characters of the previous three Manwhore books, Rachel and Saint. They had an obvious attraction, but Gina has been burned badly by her ex and isn't open to relationships. Not that Tahoe is either. He's the worst kind of manwhore and not remotely sorry. Which takes us to the beginning of Ladies Man. Gina and Tahoe have fallen into a zone that's kind of friends/kind of not. Wishing for more, but at the same time...not.

He's annoying. He's cocky. Selfish. Self-centered. Really, I don't even know why we're friends.

I want to take him home and kiss him.
I want him to take me home and kiss me.
And then I want to forget I ever kissed him, and ever wanted to.

This is Gina from one moment to the next. From page one until far into the book. In a way, I understood her mixed emotions, but honestly I never had much sympathy. She wasn’t the strong independent woman she was portrayed as in the other books. She was something else. She didn’t know, and I sure as hell didn’t know. She was a revolving door of emotions: hesitant, needy, and desperate. I wanted to slap her on each cheek and say, “For God’s sake, pull yourself together, woman!” My patience soon started to wear thin.

Tahoe gives her a heavy lidded stare, looks at her like he wants to eat her for dessert...then walks off with a woman (or two, or three) to prove what a manwhore he is. Almost every single scene where Tahoe and Gina run into one another in the first half, he's surrounded by women. He whores his way around town in her face repeatedly. Then she still either silently aches for him, or pretends it was fine? Not enjoyable. Not for me.

There were too many contradictions in what they said, what they thought, and what they did. It made me feel nothing but frustration seeing them try to understand what they wanted.

Cut to around 65%. Suddenly, the grey clouds shift away and the sun comes out. We're finally at the point I wanted them to be much, much sooner. He's finally focused on Gina.

"Wow. Spurning some invitations somewhere?" I narrow my eyes in bemusement. "They really want you there."
He tucks it back into his pocket. "Yeah. Not interested."

The last twenty percent is where they evolve into a couple. After doing their soul searching, they're ready to let go of everything that was holding them back. All of their sweet words, tender touches, and uncontrollable passion were crammed tight into the end. Leaving me unsatisfied and wishing there were more. Tahoe and Gina's move from friendship into more spanned a time frame of over a year. Personally, I think that year was not spent doing things I enjoyed reading about.

I love this author, I love many of her books, but unfortunately this book was not what I was hoping for. You may not feel the same as me, you may feel that their push and pull feelings during their "friendship" is angsty and exciting. I'm sure a lot of people will love this couple, and more power to them. I'm thinking that I'm going to be in the minority this time around. I still may read Callan's story in September, but that's a big maybe at this point.

"You're like an insistent little trickle of water, soaking into every inch of my life."

5 Stars!

(I buddyread this book with my lovely sis Bea. Click her name to read her awesome review!)

I loved this book so much and right now I couldn't even begin to form coherent thoughts. TAHOE ROTH. This guy. This sexy ladies' man just got me with his "You've checked me so hard" line!

We've met Tahoe Roth and Gina Wylde in the first books of Manwhore series. Since Manwhore, Tahoe already hooked me because he was described as a sexy and cool rich playboy with a cocky grin and let me tell you, those qualities are my weakness, no matter how cliché they seem to be. I didn't quite like Gina in the previous books, though, but in this book, this girl totally got me. Her character improved so well!

"But what is true for Tahoe Roth? He is the embodiment of sex. He also has a gentleman ingrained in his bones due to his southern upbringing. You can tell a lot about person by how they treat others, and he is playful but honest, and always himself."

These two have this typical friends-to-lovers story that I found really sweet. To be honest, I didn't quite like the prolonged sexual tension between them as the story progressed simply because of the way they continued to resist each other and hang the readers in the air. All throughout the 3/4 part of the book, I kept saying "Oh, c'mon, get it together already!". My patience was really tested here lol and you can't blame me because the chemistry of these characters are so evident you can't help but root for them! But I was completely glad that the story picked up in the later chapters and finally made everything up! It was totally worth it, after all.

"I want to take off your lipstick so all you have is my mouth on you."

The romance in this book was undeniably hot, passionate, and somewhat bittersweet. Just when I thought that everything was light, I realized that there were some parts that were a bit heavy and dramatic, too, like Tahoe's painful past which was revealed in an unexpected way. I think that part was the main reason why I understood this casanova better.

"Love has no conscience. It doesn't know right or wrong. It's a feeling you can't shake that penetrates your soul, and it cannot be broken."

All in all, I did enjoy and swoon over this book. I guess the list of songs in the playlist which was mentioned also became an instrument for me to even love this book. Those songs were perfect! *sigh I NEED MORE BOOKS LIKE THIS!

“No one is the way they seem. We all hide little pieces, either because we don’t want to be judged, or because we don’t think we’ll be understood, or simply because we don’t want those pieces to belong to anyone but us.”

Ever since I met Tahoe in Manwhore, I wanted a book for him. And seeing the connection and chemistry he had with Rachel’s best friend, Gina, I wanted that book to be with her. I was so happy to hear that it was happening. A Tahoe and Gina book! When it hit my kindle, I started it straight away. The sexual tension was at an all-time high, my emotions were a mess and this book made me smile, laugh, sad and ragey all at once. It was a friend to lovers story (which I love) and even though it is connected to the Manwhore series, it can most definitely be read as a standalone.
“I want to kiss you. I look at you, with those curves of yours and that wild hair and those dark eyes and that reluctant little smile, and I want to crush you against me, fill my hands with your hair and drown in your smell. And I want to kiss you.”

Gina has been friends with Tahoe Roth for a while now. She sees a side of him not everyone else sees. After being friends and being crazy attracted to him for the longest time, she goes for it. One night with Tahoe. BUT as much as Tahoe wants Gina- and you can tell he wants her bad… he doesn’t want to go there with her. Why? Because even though he’d do anything to have her, he doesn’t want to hurt her. I think deep down Tahoe’s intentions were good and I know he has a big heart, but dang…

There are definite moments of frustration in Gina and Tahoe’s story. Prepare yourself. Tahoe is one of this characters you love hard but will test you. Overall, I did love both of these characters and this story. Katy Evans is a woman who knows how to write and can captivate you with her stories. The love and the build up between these two characters were worth the wait. I loved that Evans made me have all these emotions- I’d rather feel strongly about something than have just a lackluster read any day. This is one book I won’t forget! I was enthralled from the start and I didn’t want to put it down.

If you’re looking for a truly wonderful friend to lovers story with damaged characters, lots of steam and sweet moments, this is one I recommend for you!

Katy Evan has created some of the most incredibly sexy alpha males that I have had the pleasure of falling in love with over the year. First, there was Remy, then Malcolm Saint and now we have Tahoe Roth. I’ve been anxious to get my hands on Tahoe and Gina’s story ever since I read the Manwhore series. The chemistry between them was pretty incredible. I thought that Gina was a real spitfire. We know that she has had her heart torn apart by her ex and since then she has closed that part of herself from the opposite sex but the connection she and Tahoe share is undeniable. I really was hooked and loved the first 28% of this story but then Gina turned into an immature and needy girl and I was starting to question how I was going to end up feeling about this book.

Tahoe and Gina definitely have a strong attraction for each other but they spend most of their time denying their feelings. Tahoe indulges in sex with many easy and available women. I lost count as to how many times the man was having relations with more than one woman at a time. Gina meets Trent at a party that he actually crashed and even though it is clearly obvious that he couldn’t be more wrong for her, she hangs on to this guy just to avoid being alone. I guess maybe because I’m much older and wiser now, I found Gina to be an annoying heroine. But she is only 23 and I can remember making a bad decision here and there about men at that age. So I gave Gina the benefit of the doubt.

Throughout this book, I couldn’t help but swoon over Tahoe and there was one scene in particular where I nearly combusted. The outdoor shower scene!!! This book is going to make you nearly die from the anticipation for the sexy time. Just be prepared that it is a VERY LONG WAIT. That was another reason I nearly combusted. I don’t remember when I ever waited that long for the hero and heroine to get it on in a story. It was slow and pure torture, but when it finally happens, well, it was worth the wait!

So overall I really enjoyed this one and clearly Katy Evans has succeeded in creating another HIT series. Be sure to one-click! The book went LIVE a little earlier than expected.

Katy is the queen of turning a slow burn into scorching, blistering heat, and Ladies Man is another sultry, shining jewel in her crown! For me, Tahoe is her hottest, sexiest hero yet!! His intensity, raw sensuality, protectiveness and simmering emotion rocked my world. Ladies Man captivated me from page one and will definitely be on my reread list!

Yes!!! It's finally live!!!

First off, a huge thank you to Katy for giving me the arc and the chance to read this story before it came out. I was really curious about the plot and of course had to have the book immediatelly. And since I'm a huge fan of her Real Series I was having big expectations about this story. Truth be said, I liked it but the first half was a bit of a struggle. If I had to sum the whole story, the new Beyonce song Sandcastles is the first thing that comes to mind. It's so beautiful but yet so sad and full of pain that in the end turns into something more.

Tahoe Roth. My guy friend. And the sexiest thig on the planet.
He had his chance. We had our chance. We're friends now. Friends who annoy each other. And sometimes want to have sex with one another. But never do.

Regina and Tahoe's 'relationship' is to me quite complicated. They danced around each other for a long time but none of them made the final move. You may ask why not just get it over with and do it? The answer to that is simple. When you have this intense connection to someone who gets you but are friends with them first, why would you want to risk it all for only one hot but unforgettable night. We all know that most (not all) friends who take that step change the way they feel or/and behave around each other. For some it gets awkward real fast, some fall in love and some distance themselves to the point of no return. So what's Regina and Tahoe's solution to their problem? They try to move on and have fun with other people, specially Tahoe, since he doesn't do relationships aka. the title Manwhore.

description

How would one describe Tahoe? Well, Regina says he resembles Ragnar from the series Vikings. And to be hones, I can see why one would give him the title sex on a stick. I sure as heck would want a piece of that sexy ass, too. Just saying... But of course that's not all that makes his character so attractive. Deep down and behind his manwhorish ways there is a man, who hides his scars made by loving hard and losing even harder.

Sometimes we use the people close to us as crutches, to keep from facing reality, or to keep from doing the hard work. We think they can do it for us or shield us from the truth. Sometimes we use our pain as a crutch too, to keep from putting ourselves out there again.

But Tahoe isn't the only one with scars. Only Regina tries to hide them with make-up. It gives her power to do things she might not have the courage to do otherwise. After what happned to her with her last boyfriend, she lost a lot of her confindence in her looks and having this mask on gives her the fulfilmed she needs to make herself feel pretty enough again. A huge plus point for Tahoe was that he didn't care for her makeup, he liked what he saw with or without it. He even prefered to see her as she trully is. And she's one beautiful woman!

I want to be happy. I want to feel complete.

description

But what happens when your problems catch up...

Two broken parts can't make a whole and I know it. We were friends. And now how can we be friends after what I said?

Ladies Man is a great read, if you want angst and some fun time. I was surprised by how little sexy scenes we get, but maybe that's just my perverted mind making things up. For those who loved the previous two books you'll be happy to hear that we get to see some pretty exciting news about the previous main characters. We even get a hint of who's going to be Katy's next love victim. Can't wait for his book! Anyway, I liked the story and if you feel like it then read the book, too!

DNF at 35%

I'm a reader of very little limits in books. I also happen to have a soft spot in my heart for the manwhores especially. Unfortunately it seems that in Ladies Man I found my limit.

Now look, I love this author. I highly enjoyed the first two books in her Manwhore series. Katy Evans has a knack for writing some super sexy alphas. After being introduced to Tahoe and Gina in Manwhore I was practically chomping at the bit to get my grabby little hands on their story.

But the Gina and Tahoe that were first introduced were not the characters that were in this book. Gina came across as a take-charge, tough as nails and sassy heroine but it felt like she did a total 180 in this book. She was needy, wishy washy, and altogether the biggest subject of frustration for this reader.

I have no problems reading about manwhores, it's my catnip. I don't care about graphic sex scenes with other women, so long if it fits the plot. But the situation between Tahoe and Gina was just too much for me. It's this never ending circle of 'I want you' but 'I can't have you'. Gina wanting Tahoe and Tahoe pushing her away because he doesn't do relationships. He prefers a constant flow of women and threesomes all the while maintaining a friendship with Gina.

All that aside, had I had some semblance of a connection to either of these characters, I think I could have looked past a lot of it. But I couldn't understand Gina, and I barely knew anything about Tahoe aside from his penchant for threesomes. Gina goes out on a date with another man she's not all that interested in so she can move past her attraction to Tahoe. She has trouble trusting men herself ever since her boyfriend of two years cheated on her and completely broke her heart. And when Gina's date asks her for cab fare after their date because he doesn't have enough, her response is to invite him up to her apartment, because why not?

I was already on the edge of DNF before this, but when

And at this point I knew that I was fighting a losing battle. Sometimes a book just isn't for you and this was that case. I did skim through to the end only to find out that they don't even . I'm bummed because I really do love this author and look forward to her future releases. I wish I enjoyed this book more, but what can you do.

I was reluctant to read this one after reading some reviews but ended up surprised how much I enjoyed it. Sure, Tahoe and Gina were infuriating with their push and pull, nonetheless I liked their friendship a lot. Tahoe whoring around and Gina having a boyfriend didn't help either, but oh well, they were only friends in the beginning. Besides, their interactions with others weren't detailed or descriptive at all, rather just mentions so it didn't bother me that much. Finding out the reasons for Tahoe's MO was heart-breaking and helped understand his behaviour too. I only wish they were longer a couple in the book but I guess the author compensated it with super steamy sex instead. Let's just say Tahoe and Gina knew how to get it on.

Anyway, quick, nice story about friendship turned love with a touch of angst and sexy and crazy hot HEA. I think fans of the series will appreciate. I enjoyed.

Ladies Man is book 3 in the Manwhore series and focuses on the best friends of the protagonists from the first two books. As it's the story of a new couple it can be read solely as a Standalone story.

Tahoe Roth is a 26 year old certified ladies man. He's a cocky, no commitment kind of guy, certainly not boyfriend material for a once-hurt-kind-of-girl who has no intention of putting her heart on the line with a player, even if he happens to be her male best friend.

The story unfolds within the parameters of first person narrative from the sole perspective of the heroine. The story depicts the push and pull of the friendship between Tahoe and Gina, the things they see in each other, their flaws and the undeniable attraction that draws them together. For my personal reading taste I found the heroine to be somewhat frustrating in some of her choices, behaviour and dialogue which ultimately caused my slight disengagement from the characters and their developing story. The hot and cold attitude she displays towards Tahoe left me feeling a little perplexed and on occasions left me questioning elements of the text with the word... really? Eventually part of the unraveling reveals the painful history of Tahoe Roth which I believe, had it been explored and developed earlier within the prose, had the potential to reach into my heart and make me feel so much more for the hero. As it was this aspect of the story felt like it was shown quite late in the narrative with an almost rush to conclude their story.

There's no doubt that Katy Evans creates sexy standout stories with charismatic, alluring heroes. Many fans have already fallen in love with Tahoe and Gina's story, the newest book couple in the Manwhore series, and many more will no doubt follow. Katy Evans is an author I hugely respect and I very much look forward to future books she has to offer.

LADIES MAN was nothing like I expected and that’s because when I first started reading it I thought it was a different series. #bookworldproblems As I continued through the very beginning of the book I tried to make sense of what I was reading and then I had a lightbulb moment where it dawned on me that this wasn’t the book I thought it was. *lol* Once I got myself straightened out I was on the track to reading about one of Malcolm's friends, Tahoe, who has commitment issues.

As the story progresses we learn why Tahoe is unwilling to settle down with just one girl. His reasons hold him back from anything more than just a friendship with Gina.

Gina isn’t going to wait around for Tahoe to come to his sense and pick her… she’s living her life all the while keeping Tahoe on speed dial. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of Gina’s boyfriend and I’m sure that was by design because he wasn’t the man who truly held Gina’s heart.

For fans of Manwhore this is a nice side story of a character we meet in that book.

With Malcolm Saint off the market I was more than happy to direct my lusty feelings to his best friend and former wingman, Tahoe Roth. The glimpses I had of him in the two earlier novels were enough to let my imagination run wild with what to expect.

I imagined a gregarious misguided, cocky billionaire with a heart of gold. At worst a charismatic Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street sans the drugs & insider trading. I wasn’t expecting anything other than to fall in love with this book, but fortunately and rather shockingly, I was left feeling underwhelmed.

Although Ladies Man can be read as a standalone, the notable chemistry between Tahoe and Gina had been simmering throughout the first two novels, and I was very much looking forward to fireworks and passion. Instead I found myself distracted from the promise of a friends to lovers type affair,  by the resentment I felt for all the liberties Gina allowed Tahoe, and then again by the terrible decisions Gina made.

Ultimately I wasn’t convinced by the friendship they circled back to enough to make concessions for them, and sadly I felt Ladies Man did not have the certain je ne sais quoi Manwhore did.

I'm a huge fan of Katy Evans and although this was not a personal favourite, I am looking forward to more from her and the series.

I was really looking forward to Tahoe and Gina's story and I'm happy to say that it did not disappoint. However, that doesn't mean that everything was perfect.

The story picks up at Tahoe's twenty-sixth birthday party and Gina finally gets up the nerve to tell Tahoe that she wants to be with him for just one night. In fact, that's his birthday present. Unfortunately, he turns her down saying he would hurt her. Which is quite the three sixty from him proposing the very same thing at Rachel and Saint's wedding.

So Gina decides to move forward with her life and meets a guy name Trent. He's a nice guy and she figures why not give him a chance. The problem is she can't stop thinking about Tahoe and apparently he can't stop thinking about her.

This is all fine and dandy except it goes on for most of the book! Seriously, it almost made me want to pull my hair out. And we get the extra bonus of Tahoe being with LOTS of other girls and of course, Gina is still with Trent.

description

As much as that bugged me, I still really liked the two of them together. It was so easy to see that they should be together and that they both want to be together.
However, I wasn't prepared for the big bomb Tahoe dropped about his reason why. Never saw that coming.

It was also really great getting updated on Rachel and Saint (Oh my!) and Wynn and Emmett (even though I was hoping Wynn and Callan would get together!) I just love that they're all still hanging out and even going on vacations together.

So be patient...the good stuff does happen (and happen A LOT). They definitely make up for lost time! ;)

Next book is Callan, of course, I was hoping with Wynn like I said but I really like the twist on who it is!

Ok I feel deeply sorry about this review. Sometimes you love authors and no matter what you'll pick their books up, Katy Evans is one of those authors.. I fell in love with Remmmmyyyy in the early days. He is and will always be a go to book boyfriend for me, again MANWHORE and MANWHORE +1 are all fabulous reads for me. And for that reason this is a hard review for me to do as this book was not for me.. It might be because I've read some epic reads recently and this just doesn't come up there being I'm in a book slump.... But I don't know this just pushed my boundaries a little too much..

So what are my issues?
Tahoe is a beautiful specimen of a man, with blue mesmerising eyes, blonde hair, a small beard, muscled in the right places. Hard everywhere, powerful, raw, animalistic.. And Katy pictured a man that was purely a beast.. These are all traits I LOVE to read in her heroes... Yet he felt he was all wrong for Gina.. And so pushed her away in the relationship capacity.. But wanted to be her friend.. He is caring, loving and friendly for her.. But he wants her but won't be there... So what does he do?? He sleeps around with God knows what and yes under her nose..

I just felt like some of his actions were uncalled for yet in another hand he is CARING, LOVING, and SPECIAL... I saw those possibilities when reading all about him.. I saw him.. This could have been a fabulous read honestly. Usually Katy creates a great picture, her couples are primal and full of love.. The possibilities were there I just didn't see them flower.

"I want to grab his wet hair and kiss him. I want to pull him underwater and kiss him. I want to take him home and kiss him. I want him to take me home and kiss me. And then I want to forget I ever kissed him, and ever wanted to.

Mmm then we have Gina, Agghhh she's lonely.. She craves him. She's his friend and loves him, but because she wants Tahoe and won't be with him. What does she do?? Oh yes you got it, she ends up being with some Numb-nut.. Idiot.. Plonker.. And he's neither here nor there.. I didn't honestly connect to any of the characters aside from Tahoes spark..

The whole book is about two lonely, broken soles.. I love angst, I love slow burn and Katy knows how to have you gripped to the seat. Get to the edge waiting, anticipating.. but this was on a complete different level.. I waited for something to happen.. And I waited for a spark, and I waited some more. I kept turning the pages.. Tick tock tick tock..
 photo tick gif_zpszdtpugvb.gif

Yeh just yeh sigh... So I didn't connect... As I've said I actually on the norm love Katy's books... So I will most definitely continue to read her books.. I just won't put this on my favourite pile because it just was lacking chemistry, lacking spark, lacking a Romance. I love being romanced in my books, I thrive off them, getting their HEA and although there is one here.. It was just too late for me..

But please don't let my opinion deter you because frankly I'm a small fish in a big pond and it might just be wrong book for me.. You might like it..

Onwards... That is all Xoxo

I'm not sure how many stars this book is worth.
I LOVED Tahoe in the previous books and I loved him in this book. It's just that the whole thing was a bit meh.... I think it could've been sooo much better with a dual POV or only a male POV.
There was no story, no sex, no grrr - no idea. And Trent?? He didn't have anything to do in this book - he was totally redundant and way too much time was wasted on him. I just didn't LOVE it. I liked it - there were lots of adorable and cute and sad and funny and romantic and slightly sexy things - but I expected A LOT MORE SEXINESS from Tahoe and Gina. It wasn't bad but I just expected so much more.
BUT - because I love Tahoe like crazy, this book gets 4.25 stars... but only because TAHOE and because it's Katy Evans :/ Talking about Katy - the writing was weird too, wasn't it?.... very complicated sentences - or rather weirdly built sentences - a bit weird the whole thing ☺
But I'm still looking forward to reading Callan & Livvy's book!

How do I feel? God, I feel RUINED! Ruined in the most magically, beautiful way. I have to say, I think Ladies Man is Katy's BEST BOOK yet. By far. It's FANTASTIC. I don't know if it was the sexy, torturous angst that drove me passionately insane, or the flirty banter that was whip smart and unexpectedly emotional, or the fact that the plot line had some seriously GASP-Y moments, but this book SCREAMED at me.

I was intoxicated. By E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. All the moments between Tahoe and Gina enthralled me. Once I started reading, that was that. I inhaled it. My emotions ping ponged from page to page. This was a book of FEELS for me. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. I blushed. I yearned. I shivered. I NEEDED. That's the biggest thing, Ladies Man stirred an intense yearning in the depth of my belly.

I WANTED Tahoe.
I ACHED for Tahoe.
It was INTENSE. All consuming.

He captivated me. There were a MILLION moments where I was desperate to get inside the book. I felt like I had to claw my way in and live and breathe there. I tumbled, fell crazy and madly in love with both characters. The back and forth between them about killed me. It slayed me in the best way and kept me hooked. I needed it to work out for them. I needed it to be good. And good it was.

"We stare at each other, and he looks at my mouth like it is all that exists for him right now. My heart starts pounding. I’m scared. His stare is frightening—it’s so blue, so clear, so expectant. So fucking hungry, this guy would eat me up alive and leave no bones to bury." <<---- AHHHHHHHHHHHH! See? Fuck, man.

I'm telling you these two. The want between them is INTOXICATING. You feel as if you're drowning in their lust. It's overwhelming. Tahoe and Gina fight it. They have enough respect for each other to know that if they go there, they will ruin their friendship. They're both not ready.

Ladies Man is a friends to lovers Standalone. It's a slow, DECADENT burn that makes you ache with need. It makes you desperate. It hurts a little.

IT HURTS IN THE VERY BEST WAY.
I relished that pain.
I ate it up.
It made everything feel ALIVE. It gave the emotions in this story a raw pulse.

"He opens his arm, smiling a harmless smile, but the look in his eyes… God, that’s as harmless as the look of a demon. Even when I see all sorts of things lurking there—darkly in his gaze—I am tempted to trust him. Trust that despite his male reactions to me, he’s more determined to be friends."

TAHOE ROTH. ***fanself*** I'm sitting here overheating as I write this.

He's a BEAST.
A freaking BEAST.

I don't know what to say to do him justice. I could pull quote after quote from this book that would make you quiver. He's a TRUE ladies man and it drove me crazy. But while he was a playboy, you could see the man beneath. Always. That man, the one who was hiding, had so much to give. He would drop ANYTHING for Gina. To him, everything was ultimately all about Gina. He'd be there, make her smile, spoon her up, fill all her emotional voids and protect her even if it meant protecting her from HIM.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Tahoe’s heart is so good, it blinded me. I wanted him. I wanted to fucking crawl all over him and steal him from Gina. ** Hahahahaha**

God, it was so much. The push and pull in this story owned every page. And while Tahoe is this magnetic being, Gina is almost the opposite. She's vulnerable and a little lost. Her roommate just got married and now she has this apartment she can't afford. She has a history of being over looked, too. Her parents are kind of flaky and she's never really had a SOLID home. She struggles with her self-image. She struggles with feeling good enough. And all she wants now, at this time in her life, is stability. She wants a home that is all HERS. And someone to love and keep her warm at night.

Ladies Man is a story of two people with different issues that are initially pulled together by their close circle of friends. But Gina and Tahoe end up having an attraction so magnetic it cannot be denied. No matter how hard they try, they eventually can’t fight it anymore. It’s MAGIC. It’s BLISSFULLY amazing.

He kisses my lips.
He sucks on my neck.
"You’re a fucking dream. You’re a fucking dream and I can’t believe I’m not dreaming you right now," he whispers.

I've always been a fan of all Katy Evans stories but this one felt special. For me, Katy is an author of FEELS. Even her lighter books have a thick undercurrent of raw emotion. She is the QUEEN of the slow build . She did it in REAL with Remy and Brooke. She did it in Manwhore with Malcolm and Rachel. And once again she did with Tahoe and Gina. I can't say enough good things about her writing, her novels, her characters. She is MY author. A go to that never lets me down. I could read her ALL DAY, EVERY DAY and never tire. She feeds by bookish soul.

Overall, Ladies Man is a SLAM DUNK, A HOME RUN, A HAT TRICK, A TOUCHDOWN. It is everything I want in a read. My version of book perfection. I cannot say enough good things. It’s an INTOXICATING, ENTICING friends to lovers story that DECIMATED me. I couldn't get enough. I still can't get enough. I highly recommend it to those who are looking for a great read. It is a spin-off of the Manwhore Series, but can absolutely be read as a Standalone novel. Though I must say, if you haven't met Rachel and Malcolm, you should do that. They are BEYOND FABULOUS.

Tahoe Roth is the man your mother warned you about, but even knowing the risk you couldn’t resist him. From the moment we met Tahoe I have been dying for this story.

If you read Manwhore you know Tahoe is Saint’s best friend and that he and Gina, Rachel's best friend, have had this connection throughout the series. This connection is what has had me needing this story. I love how Tahoe is such a manwhore, but that regardless Gina sees the man beneath that. What I truly loved was actually seeing and understand why he is the way he is. Tahoe’s story really made me feel for him and I swear when I saw him whoring around I wasn’t sure I could forgive him, but I did in the end.

Gina is such a great heroine and I felt like most girls can relate to her. She isn’t perfect, she is insecure and desires to be loved and it just made her feel more real and genuine to me. I love how she grew as a character throughout the story and I loved how that growth allowed her to open up and be brave.

I love Katy Evans writing, it’s always sexy and fun, but has plenty of heart. Ladies Man had me frustrated beyond belief at times, because I just wanted them to realize what could be. However, that’s not really a story is it, you have to have tension and angst. In the end, I just wanted more time with them together. I loved their friendship, the flirting and battling their feelings, but having more actual time with them as a couple would have made this reader super happy.

If you are a fan of this series I think you will love this one. Overall I have loved this series and definitely recommend it. I personally cannot wait for the next book in the series, because brother’s best friend are my JAM!!!!

Attention ladies…. Katy Evans has done it again. That’s right, Katy has readers like myself salivating and swooning for Tahoe Roth. So who is Tahoe Roth? Well, he is cocky, playful, naughty, and not the guy you bring home to your parents. He is definitely not the guy you date. He’s the one night stand kind of guy who would fulfill all your dirty sexual fantasies. Tahoe Roth is a manwhore. A ladies man.

photo 3f685d86a03ed3cc29f10c7152d5ff_zpsspyaz0hn.gif Frustration is eating at me. I want to grab his wet hair and kiss him. I want to pull him underwater and kiss him. I want to take him home and kiss him. I want him to take me home and kiss me. ”

Tahoe Roth is rich, exuberant, and sexy as fuck. As a bonafide manwhore, there is no shortage of ladies wanting attention from him. Behind his deep rich blue eyes, Tahoe has a secret and past. And in order to really know Tahoe, you have to get past his cocky exterior and break down those walls. Only his close friends and family knows the real Tahoe Roth.

#ladiesMan2

photo 8f790d99d09f8e4a3e555ed11aa699_zps3rgaijxs.gif “He’s a womanizer, he seduces women, this is what they see in him— confidence, a bit of an alpha nature, those wicked teasing words of his, that rebel streak, the laugh, the good times, the money he spends so easily, the lips, the body, I’m not even going to think about the rest but I can tell by the wear of his jeans that he’s as well-endowed there as everywhere else. ”

Gina knows that she should stay away from Tahoe and keep him in the friend zone. She knows she should keep her crush a secret but his vibrant bright blue eyes haunts her. She wants him and so when she told Tahoe of her desire to have one taste of him, he tells her no. It’s not that he doesn’t want her but he doesn’t want her to be another notch on his bedpost. A girl like Gina needs someone who would treat her special and Tahoe knows that he is not the right guy for her. But why can’t Tahoe stay away?

photo 3f685d86a03ed3cc29f10c7152d5ff_zpsspyaz0hn.gif He holds my face utterly still as he leans in. And he gets closer, And his nose brushes lightly over mine, And his breath blends with my breath, And his lips whisper over mine. All this time I’ve been staring at him, motionless. Then his eyes start to close , and his lashes are gorgeous, and he smells like pine and hay… And his lips close firmly over mine.”

As much as Gina and Tahoe are sexually attracted to one another, they continue to stay in the friend’s zone. Friends who flirt but stays within the boundaries. As Gina decides to move on, she meets a nice guy and starts dating him. She enjoys her time with her new boyfriend but she can’t stop thinking of Tahoe. Wanting him. Having him play with her body. Knowing that Tahoe is the only that awakens her sexuality. When will Gina stop and realize that maybe she doesn’t need someone perfect for her but someone imperfect like Tahoe who makes her feel perfect?

#LadiesMan

Tahoe and Gina’s push and pull relationship was tangible and palpable from the start. Right off the opening pages, Katy Evans has readers entranced with the raw emotions trickling between Tahoe and Gina. This connection. This bond. This friendship. It was something more. More than two friends who gets along. More than best friends. Just more. And when these two finally realized that they are both beautifully broken with a past, Gina and Tahoe begins one amazing journey of love. A love that was brimming with so much passion, intensity, understanding, and truth. A love that completes them. A love where two imperfect people are perfect for each other. A love that can only be described as Tahoe and Gina.

photo 8f790d99d09f8e4a3e555ed11aa699_zps3rgaijxs.gif “I love every part of you. I could be a thousand miles away from you, stay away from you my whole life, put an ocean between us, take a million other women in my arms, and you’re still the one I want, the only woman on my mind.”

So can a manwhore change his way? A ladies man? And the answer is, “Yes.” And Katy Evans once again reminds her readers that when you find that love, you hold onto it. Cherish it and never let it go. And for Tahoe Roth, he found his missing piece in Gina.

photo 3f685d86a03ed3cc29f10c7152d5ff_zpsspyaz0hn.gif He’s my best friend. The only person I love to be with, want to be with, always . He’s the only man I’ve ever wanted like this.”

#ladiesMan1

Ladies Man was an absolute gem of a read. This book was everything I was looking for in a Katy Evans book. Katy didn’t disappoint her readers as she delivered a palpable love story that will have your heart bursting with so much love, understanding, truth, and passion. She held her readers hostage as we were immersed in this strong push and pull relationship that made you FEEL for Tahoe and Gina. What I especially loved about this book was that she wrote a story of two imperfect people who were perfect for one another. This is a love story where you come to love, not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly. And for Gina, her imperfect person happens to be a ladies man. Ummm, well no longer a ladies man since Gina has taken Tahoe Roth off the single market.

photo 8f790d99d09f8e4a3e555ed11aa699_zps3rgaijxs.gif “And somehow we still crave to be with each other. Not because I’m broken and I make you feel good about yourself…because I’m not broken with you. You get me and I get you. I accept you , I cherish you. I fucking revere you. Just as you are. I want no other woman in my life and I want you to have no man but me. So I love you.”

All there is left to say is go read Ladies Man. Fall in love with this beautiful love story between two friends realizing what has been obvious from the start. Fall in love with Tahoe and his loyalty, playfulness, and his big heart. Fall in love with Gina as she discovers the real Tahoe Roth. Not Tahoe the manwhore. Not Tahoe the ladies man. Not the man who collects panties. But Tahoe Roth, the guy who stole her heart. The guy with bright blue eyes whose love is endless and breathtakingly beautiful. Fall in love with the real Tahoe Roth. And most importantly, fall in love with Katy’s gorgeous prose as she brings a love story to life.

Regina Wylde is a 23 yr. old single woman living in Chicago. She works in cosmetics at a department store & enjoys spending time with her two best friends who are both in relationships. Gina hasn't been able to put her heart out there since she suffered a broken heart. She hasn't been able to trust or love again & feels a bit broken. So while her heart still isn't ready to mingle yet, she's beginning to feel her body is. She's never really done the whole casual sex thing, but the more time she spends around a mutual friend named Tahoe Roth, the more she is thinking a one night stand might be a fantastic idea!

-He's a ladies' man, and ladies' men attract ladies, effortlessly, that's what he does.

-I can't close my eyes. I'm afraid I'll see the blue eyes that I can't get out of my mind- the ones that have been popping into my dreams.

-He's my best friend. The only person I love to be with, want to be with, always. He's the only man I've ever wanted like this.

Tahoe Roth is a playboy from Texas who struck oil & became a billionaire. He has it all. Women, great friends, wealth & to die for good looks! When his best friend Gina offers him one night with her, he turns her down. He cares too much about her to mess things up with her. He doesn't think he can be what she needs & he deep down is a little broken as well. He never makes his heart available either. He's all about fun & a good time. Tahoe & Gina become so close. Gina loves his playful side. He's honest, sincere & protective. He's always himself & things are just so easy with him. Gina becomes quite obsessed with Tahoe & can't fight how her body reacts to him. She wants him desperately & he haunts her dreams. They are both scared to lose their friendship, but eventually can't deny their feelings have turned into more. I loved this book so much! Flew through it in one day. Tahoe "T-Rex" Roth is so damn hot!!! ON FIRE!!! I look forward to Callan & Livvy's story up next! :D

Not interested in reading about MCs being with other people for majority of THEIR love story.

High expectations after Remy and Saint, but Tahoe was a major disappointment for me. Won't be reading the next one if he also can't keep it in his pants, screwing other women while pushing "the one" away for over a year as anything but a "friend". Yawnnn. Those books are a dime a dozen on goodreads, I expected a better level of "love" story from this author. The last 10% when he finally pulls his head out of ass doesn't make up for the rest, took him too long.

Buddy read this with dear sis Pearl (click to read her fabulous review!) ;)

As soon as this book came out, I have to get it. IMMEDIATELY. I am very excited for Gina Wylde and Tahoe Roth's story. I've been curious about them on the previous books, I just knew that these two have sparks despite they are friends. Their story is light, adorable, cute and it will make you swoon. It's just nice to see their friendship grow to something more.

Gina Wylde is one of Rachel's roommate and best friend. When her ex-boyfriend cheated on her, she sort feel insecure of not being enough to a guy. It's undeniable that she's attracted to one of Malcolm Saint's best friend, Tahoe Roth. He's a sexy, hot, confident and has a great sense of humor. It's just that he's not into relationships. Somehow, they both understand each other on most of the things. Damn, THEY ARE BOTH ATTRACTED TO EACH OTHER but something is holding them back. They decided to remain as friends so they will not hurt each other's feelings... but for how long?

Their love story isn't rush. Gina and Tahoe took their time to bond as friends until they feel something more. It slowly builds up and the sexual between them.. O.M.G. BURN! SLOW BURN!

What I really thought about Tahoe Roth:

description

I swear, I love Tahoe more than Saint. (Sorry, Saint! I still love you though) At first, I couldn't understand why he's holding back but there's something more about this Ladies man. He's such a sweet, sexy, genuine, and protective guy. When a guy loves you just the way you are, appreciates your natural beauty, treats you with respect and makes you happy = *sighs. melts more.*

I just love it! I can't wait for the next one because..

I was really looking forward to starting this book, but sadly it didn't go as well as I expected. While I enjoyed most of the overall story, I had a lot of issues with these characters and their relationship. My biggest one was that I never felt the connection between them. Not even when they were supposedly "friends" did I believe that they even liked each other. Instead it felt like they were being pushed together, and were attracted to each other, yet too awkward to act on it.

Add on to that the fact that they didn't even get together until really late in the book, there was just no way I could see them as an actual couple. It also really bothered me that for the majority of the book Gina had a boyfriend, one that she didn't even seem to like very much, and Tahoe was still sleeping around.

Gina's character bothered me a lot, too. I just didn't like how whiny she seemed and it felt like ever time something went wrong in her life she was blaming other people for it and making big deals out of little things. Maybe if I felt more of a connection between her and Tahoe I could have used that to distract me from hating her so much, but that didn't happen.

Overall, this was not the book for me but I know it's a story that a lot of people will like so I still recommend giving it a try if the blurb interests you. I've read and liked this authors work before so I'm not letting this make me give up on her and I can't wait to read more of her stories.

4.5 I love my T-Rex Stars

It’s Tahoe Roth’s book!!!! WEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do I need to say anymore? Ladies Man is a standalone and is a spinoff from the Manwhore series. This is Tahoe and Gina’s story. Tahoe and Gina are Saint and Rachel’s best friends respectfully.

I’ve been dying for Tahoe’s book since Manwhore. He’s the cocky guy that you just can’t look away from and want to completely be consumed by. He’s arrogant, successful and he has a southern drawl. I love me my Texan men!

Gina just got out of a relationship. Her ex cheated on her and she is a bit self-conscience because of that. She always has make-up on and her hair is always neat and pretty. She’s never let a man seen her less than perfect, even though her life is less than perfect.

“You need a guy who will always be there for you. One who will never let you down.”
“I know.”

Ladies Man is written differently from any other Katy Evan’s book. I would say it’s sweeter and definitely tamer. It’s a best friend to romance novel that will make your heart happy. Tahoe and Gina are friends and that is it. Gina has a deep crush on Tahoe, but she’s not stupid. She understands Tahoe can only offer his friendship and nothing more. He’s simply a Ladies Man.

“He may look like an Adonis, but there’s a darkness in his gaze. Sometimes I wonder if I’m the only one who sees it.”

Tahoe loves the ladies and it’s apparent in the book how much he loves the ladies. Gina is a really strong character and I love how honest and open the relationship between Tahoe and Gina are. She sees him with other ladies and even though it hurts her, she’s smart about it. Like I said she knows nothing can come of it.

Don’t you fret, it’s not all about Gina swooning over Tahoe in the book. She meets a man and starts a relationship with him, so there’s a little tension there and it’s really addictive to read. Tahoe’s womanizing ways was hard to read, but he’s really adorable and sweet towards Gina. The man drops everything to help her whenever she’s in need, he’s like her white knight.

“You’re like an insistent little trickle of water, soaking into every inch of my life. I can’t look anywhere without noticing your absence, Regina.”

Overall, I wasn’t expecting this kind of read from Katy Evans, but I really liked how different it was. I enjoyed the slower pace, the quick and sassy banter between the two main characters and I felt like I was on this crazy tension ride throughout the book. You will want to read it in one sitting.

I also can’t wait for the next story! It’s Tahoe’s little sister and Callan’s story!!!!!

4 Sexy Stars.

If you’ve read the Manwhore series, you’ll remember Gina and Tahoe. They were the best friends of the MC’s and there was always this spark between them.
Until that spark turns into something more, but both with past ghosts and their own issues they try to ignore it and act as friends… who had sex with each other, but that’s just details. The problem starts when their feelings become too strong to ignore, the fears they bear from their pasts too big to pretend they are not there and they realize some things were made to be fought for.

The thing I love about Katy Evans is her storytelling talent. You read her books and you get lost in all the details, in all tension and feelings she adds to the story, in the creditability of her characters and in the amazing world she creates. This book was no exception.
The mc’s grew up so much from their multidimensional and slightly annoying personalities from the previous books and it was impossible not rooting for them and their happy ending.
If you’re looking for a sweet, sexy with some angst and fairly addictive romance, this book is a very good choice.

Review updated

Disappointing :(
Gina and her boyfriend - Trent – were always broke. Trent was broke because he started his own business, Gina because she didn't have a great job and on top of that she had recently lost her room-mate which aggravated her financial situation. Tahoe is the manwhore rich guy. Rich like, private jet rich .
A massive chunk of this story takes place with Gina and the Tahoe bumping in each other in several places. Nightclubs, bars and restaurants. Really? How could they be attending the same places with such huge social gaps? I hate when this happens. The lack of realism gave me too many eye rolling moments.
I also couldn't read Tahoe. There was no hint whatsoever of what Tahoe was feeling or what he thought about Gina and considering Gina’s insecurity and low esteem it made me wonder what Tahoe saw in her.
Finally, the pull and push game dragged too long.
Anyway, I think 3 stars is generous.

******************************************** Added

Reading some of my friends comments today made me realised that I've only pointed the negative aspects of the story which is quite unfair of me.
The story wasn't bad. It falls in between “it’s Ok” and “I like it”. It’s just that I had such high expectations after reading Katy Evans other books. She left me spoiled by her previous ones.
So, yeah I am disappointed.
This won’t put me off on reading the next one in the series though because despite this one letting me down, the other 5 books I've read from her were all 4* and 5*.

Maravilloso.
