Sometimes it’s better when you can’t see what’s coming for you…

When Eugene Law, West Florida’s favorite Magician, tries to impress his wife with an impromptu display of Magickal prowess, their vacation takes a nautical turn for the worse.

Eugene's plans backfire in spectacular fashion, and it isn’t long before he finds himself in the middle of a family nightmare nearly a hundred years in the making.

Will Gene fix his mistake in time, or will it be Lights Out for our hero and the ones he loves?

Imagine a blistering hot summer day in Florida. Got it? Good.
Now, just this one vacation day, you’re alone with your gorgeous partner. Your kids are with your parents-in -law. What are your plans? Right? Right.

Unfortunately, not if you’re Eugene law, magician.
The sexy-time he was craving for was quickly replaced by magick-time.

I loved how, during the whole magickal mayhem, Gene’s thoughts were basically focused on one thing only. A little ‘Marvin Gaye’ time for him and Porter.
No luck. Poor guy.

An awesome read, yet again.
A Martin Shannon story always brings utter, utter joy.

Rarely do I find short stories as engaging as those tales of the exploits of Eugene Law, magician, husband, father, and West Florida resident. All of these attributes come into play on a tourist tour at the Jupiter Lighthouse. He's there with his wife Porter, sans kids, and finding this alone time with her less than satisfying. As usual, mayhem ensues as he works his magick to save the day.

If you like stories that will make you laugh and cringe at the same time, the Tales of Weird Florida are for you!

Quick read - magic

Short story set in a Florida lighthouse. Very visual writing, albeit improbable. Entertaining, could be a television short. Worth the half hour.

As I am a gatherer of books, I collect books and ebooks from a variety of sources: Goodreads wins, Bookhub, BookFunnel, emails from authors and publishers, and others. I do lose track of their sources. But, as a reader, I feel I should give an honest, unencumbered review for all I read.

Eugene just has no luck with his dates. All he wants to do is spend some time with his lady without children present. Do the ghosts have to interfere?
