When everything falls apart, what do you do? For me there was no other option but to run. Run away from reality toward my dreams of surfing the most beautiful and deadly beaches in the world. Only, one person wouldn't let me go. Tennessee Clark had been a thorn in my side and my best friend since he showed me up in a swim race at thirteen years old and I was determined to shake him. Only, I learned quickly that Tenn wasn't the kind of man who took no for answer, even when the thing in question was me.
A brand new standalone short story coming from Giana Darling in 2020!
Loved everything about this short story/prequel! Shortest story to have me in tears and has me craving more. I instantly fell in love with the characters and I'm hoping we get the full story soon. I'm already claiming Tenn, Cade, and Bright! Be There With Me is definitely different from Giana's previous work which has me all the more excited for it. I have a feeling that Darcy and Tennessee's journey will be unforgettable and I can't wait to experience it with them!
Overall Rating :: 4 stars Series :: The prequel to a currently unnamed NA romance. Hero/Heroine :: Tennessee/Darcy POV :: All Darcy. Cliffhanger :: Yes. HEA ::

So, yeah. I want more. Giana Darling is a literary wonder, for sure. She writes such beautifully flawed characters, which makes them so easy to love, even when they make it difficult. From what we've already seen, Darcy is a tough nut to crack, but loves fiercely. She has a softness toward Tennessee, in particular. And even though, Tenn comes off as a strong and kind protector of Darcy, I know he's probably got his own demons, which I can't wait to read more about. I'm so intrigued. I want more, more, more.
I loved this short story and I cannot wait for the full story of Darcy and Tenn. I do hope that we will get a deeper insight into Cade and Brighton and the friendship dynamic between these four characters.
This short story was about a boy and a girl meeting at 13. Darcy was a tomboy that didn’t let many people inside her heart. When she loses her mother, Tennessee want nothing less than to care for her. When she tries to run, he doesn’t let her get far. I just wanted more.
Darcy and Tennessee start out at odds with him challenging her to a race in the ocean. He was the best swimmer at his old school, and Darcy was the best swimmer at his new school. Even after he saved her life she decided they couldn't be friends. Somewhere along the way though they both caught feelings, and now they have to decide whether to tell each other how they feel after one of the worst days of Darcy's life.
Giana gives us a lovely intro to what seem to be a really sweet couple with the kind of emotions she tells stories the best about. Heartbreak, heartache, and grief. The kind of grief that would make you bury your head in the sand if it was yours, but as it's the written grief Giana specializes in, you can rest certain that she'll give you a sweet ending. Even if she doesn't answer all your questions.
