When Dora and Evie land at Windy’s ranch in Montana, they fall hard into an underground bunker, where they meet a man from Windy’s past. Sam, the love of Windy’s life, has been framed for stealing a prized race horse, and Dora and Evie are obligated to stay and help solve the crime before heading back to Pensacola. With an entry into the Ms. Rockin’ Rodeo pageant, a crash course in cow milking, and a stint as a rodeo clown, the crime-solving friends have their hands full this time. Can they prove Sam’s innocence and finally get the evidence they need to return home to their beachside town and clear Dora’s name?
Lucy Quinn is the brainchild of New York Times bestselling author Deanna Chase and USA Today bestselling author Violet Vaughn. Having met over a decade ago in a lampwork bead forum, the pair were first what they like to call “show wives” as they traveled the country together, selling their handmade glass beads. So when they both started writing fiction, it seemed only natural for the two friends to pair up with their hilarious, laugh-out-loud, cozy mysteries. At least they think so. Now they travel the country, meeting up in various cities to plan each new Lucy Quinn book while giggling madly at themselves and the ridiculous situations they force on their characters. They very much hope you enjoy them as much as they do.
Deanna Chase, is a native Californian, transplanted to the slower paced lifestyle of southeastern Louisiana. When she isn’t writing, she is often goofing off with her husband in New Orleans, playing with her two shih tzu dogs, or making glass beads.
Violet Vaughn lives in coastal New Hampshire where she spends most mornings in the woods with her dogs, summer at the ocean, and winters skiing in the mountains of Maine.
I’m honestly sad to see this series end. This is a terrific conclusion to this little series and does not disappoint. There is plenty of the usual humor and mayhem that kept me on the edge of my seat in anticipation and suspense. I do suggest reading this series in order since there is a continuing storyline throughout the books. The series won’t disappoint.
Such an interesting series of book to read. As you know from the other books Dora and Evie are trying to get back a flash drive which will clear Dora from the first murder committed. Not all the books involve a murder but the stories have been very interesting with mystery, romance and humor! In this current book , there is not a murder but someone has stolen a racehorse. Sam and Windy are holding the drive for ransom for the girls to clear Sam of the theft. Let’s not forget who the helpers are but Luke, Trace and Sunshine. You will find lots of surprises and plot twist before the book ends. I love a happy ending and there definitely is one and you will understand when you read the book. To say too much will spoil the story but I will say that I never expected one but as I thought about it there were hints that I overlooked because I was enjoying the stories so much! I highly recommend the entire series and it would be interesting if there was another to the series!
Another screwball adventure with Dora and Evie. This time they're in Montana. Will Thelma and Louise -- er... Dora and Evie ever get their proof and their happily ever after? Read the book and find out. Fun, mystery, romance and adventure. Well written and hard to put down.
The final escapade for Dora & Evie takes them to Montana where they are finally promised the flash drive that will clear them and get them back home to Pensacola!
Yet again there’s a glitch in the plans! Windy’s boyfriend Sam has a little mystery that needs solving before he will hand over the flash drive!
To get the answers, it seems rodeo life and pageants will become a part of the plan to get the info needed to clear Sam and get life back to normal for everyone!
“Mayhem In Montana” is a page-turner mystery read with lots of humor, suspense, action, life-threatening moments, surprises and sweet romance. Picturesque vivid scene descriptions, fabulous character interaction and a wonderful storyline make this an intriguing read.
Dora and Evie are in Montana to secure the flash drive that will clear Dora’s name of a murder she didn’t commit. Windy their newfound friend needs help to clear the name of her love Sam. While trying to find who stole a famous race horse Evie and Dora make some new friends and enemies too. Dora’s Luke and Evie’s Trace show up in Montana to help find the famous horse. Sunshine, Evie’s dog has a few surprises of her own that will warm your heart.
Fantastic entertaining conclusion to this captivating series. The author does a superb job showing how Dora and Evie mature with each adventure in search of the flash drive. Loving this read, I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy via the author.
Dora and Evie have found themselves trapped in an underground shelter shortly after arrival at Windy’s ranch. They plan to retrieve the flash drive which clears Dora of the pending murder charge and return home to Pensacola. However, upon being released from the shelter by Sam, Windy’s significant other, they are told that they must clear Sam of a charge as a horse thief before obtaining the vital flash drive. Although both girls are furious, they have no choice and proceed to investigate. In typical hilarious and adventurous fashion, the two friends become pageant entrant, rodeo clown and potential horse adopters, all while enjoying Sam’s excellent cooking and the beauty of the Montana landscape. When they are joined by their men, Luke and Trace, the action ramps up and danger comes from unexpected sources. There will be a revelation that could change one of their lives forever. The two BFFs have grown and changed during their time on the run. Will they be able to return to normal lives in Florida even after the charges are dropped? I have thoroughly enjoyed these books and admit that I will miss these two and their amazing travels, but I’m certain that Lucy Quinn has more entertaining tales to tell us in the not too distant future.
Another rockin' adventure. Last time we left the girls and pup in some kind of tunnel they crashed into. We know they can't stay there if they are gonna get the evidence to exonerate her from a murder charge. This isn't the first adventure while getting their own evidence.
This adventure requires something to help out Windy's boyfriend who was in a similar legal situation. Not what they want after all the other "adventures" they have been on to solve other crimes. Looks like they don't have a choice. This time they get to use some old skills and developed some new ones. Got some rodeo experience coming up and the reader will laugh out loud for this one. But there is danger as well and surprises for all.
Will the men in their lives show up again? Will they finally get their freedom? A fun read for all.
Evie and Dora are back! Sushi and the girls have made it to Windy's ranch, hoping to hideout on the way back (they hope) to their usual lives. But fate is determined to puts snags in their best-laid plans. Now they have to solve another murder for Windy's former paramour! He won't part with the evidence they need until they get him out of hot water.
Time for the girls to revisit their old skills, adapt a few, and learn some brand new ones. Who knew being a Rodea Clown would not be the most dangerous thing on their to-do list?
More than a few secrets are revealed, especially what a certain very helpful, very hunky chef is really up to!!!!
Great girls madcap adventure! It's like Lucy and Ethel have been modernised! I love the total mayhem in their wake, the girls may flounder a bit but they always come out (relatively) on top!
Loved it! We find Dora and Evie in Montana trying to get the USB drive back to clear Dora's name of murder. They followed Windy, whom they met while on the road, and she takes them to Montana to see Windy's boyfriend Sam. Little does Dora and Evie realize that they have to clear Sam's name, he is accused of stealing a race horse, if they want the USB back..... What does helping Sam get them? A rodeo pageant and learning how to rope, ride a horse, and Evie even gets wrangled into being a rodeo clown. To earn they way at staying at Sam & Windy's ranch Dora and Evie learn quickly how to milk a cow. I laughed so hard several times reading Mayhem in Montana. A wonderful story to end the Accidentally Undercover Mystery series...
In the series finale - Dora, Evie, Sunshine (and Luke and Trace) find themselves in Montana! Is there no end to all the hoops the girls have to jump thru to clear Dora's name so that they can get back to their normal lives in Pensacola? Apparently, being part of a rodeo is one of those hoops! Wow, what a wild ride! A page turning adventure, with humor, suspense, quick thinking, betrayal, turmoil, a beauty pageant, rodeo action! I love how the characters mature and evolve, and yet remain true to themselves and each other! A fitting end to the series! I received an ARC of this book and have voluntarily left this review. The opinion is my own.
I love the mixture of murder, mayhem and romance mixed with a very healthy dose of laughter. The series is light-hearted in tone but keeps you in suspense as well.
The book finds them continuing their journey but not on the path you would expect. They really have quite an experience that challenges their mission and their lives.
I highly recommend the series. It has been a fun journey that I will miss.
This is a cute series and this latest addition is no exception. There's plenty of interesting characters and excitement in this book and lots of loose ends that get tied up nicely.
Evie and Dora are still on the run but they're looking forward to getting the proof that will clear Dora of suspicion of murder. Only problem is Windy gave it to Sam and he won't turn it over to them until they clear him of grand theft race horse.
I received an arc of this book and voluntarily provided a review.
I just loved this series, and this book wraps it up very nicely. The friendship between Dora and Evie continues to be entertaining as well as heartwarming. I love the chemistry, the quick way they think on their feet through difficult situations, and the way they always have each other's backs. The Miss Rockin' Rodeo pagenat was such a hoot to read on top of a great story. Would definitely recommend!
I loved every minute of this captivating cozy with unforgettable characters and a story that quickly became a page turner with a great mystery, humor, rodeo action, a touch of romance and so much more. I am sad to say goodbye to Dora and Evie but look forward to what Lucy Quinn has in store for us next. If you enjoy fun cozies, don't miss "Mayhem in Montana". I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
The girls have finally tracked down the missing USB, except of course they can’t get it back without clearing someone else’s name of a wrongly accused crime. These girls are crime solvers extraordinaire. Along with some much needed help and a surprise twist or two only the way.
I enjoyed this final book in the series. It was fun, it was sassy and I loved how the girls have grown and changed from their experiences.
This was a great ending to the adventures of Dori, Evie, and Sunshine. The girls have arrived in Montana for the flashdrive, but once again must solve a mystery to gain access to it from Windy and her boyfriend Sam. This time they need to prove Sam's innocence in the case of the missing thoroughbred horse. This is a laugh out loud series that keeps you guessing with every twist and turn. I received an ARC from the author for purposes of an unbiased review.
Fabulous end to the story arc. I received an e-copy of the book in exchange for a review. What a wonderful way to wrap up a story arc! The book has everything you've come to expect - action, humour, romance, and surprises. I really enjoyed it and devoured it in 24 hours. If you haven't read this series, you need to catch up! It's well written and lots of fun!
Such a great ending to a great and throughly fun mystery series. Dora and Evie are zany, humorous and a down right hoot!! They had me laughing and guessing at every turn. Their chemistry and how they play off each other makes this series a light hearted and engaging tale that I will surely re read again and again!!
Mayhem in Montana (Accidentally Undercover Mysteries Book 4) by Lucy Quinn is a fantastic story to read. This is book number four in this fantastic series. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about mysteries.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Absolutely loved this series! Sad to see it conclude but so glad I was able to read it in its entirety! Love the humor and shenanigans these 2 characters always produce! They make a great team! 🤣
Also love how vividly I can picture the characters and the many disguises they held over the series! Great writing!!
Dora and Evie have reached their "last" rodeo! They're both anxious to return home, but first, tasks have to be completed. The way these tasks are depicted are delightful and hilarious! The witty banter adds to this enjoyable read. The series ends on a high note. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
I have Loved this series! It has been full of twists and turns and mysteries and this book was no different. Evie, Dora and Sunshine are in Montana to get the evidence needed to clear Dora but come across another mystery they need to solve first. This book is so very good and cannot recommend this series enough.
4.0 out of 5 stars So fun! Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2020 Dora and Evie are desperate to get the flash drive but are stopping in Montana and you know there will be chaos and confusion. The characters are wonderful and the story kept me guessing. Loved it! I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
I loved this book! In keeping with the "tradition" of other Lucy Quinn books, there were twists and turns, danger, mystery, and humor. I stayed on the edge of my seat and did not want to put it down. This was a fun series and I hate that this was the final book. This book is not a standalone and must be read in order.
I chose this rating for all of these books because they grabbed you at the beginning and didn't let go. I really hope you two carry on with these characters to see how they all adjust to living a 'normal' life. I am sure you can keep them as Hard to say interesting as this series was; because normal is different for all of us.
This was my favorite in this series. All of them have been good, but this story was excellent. Evie, Dora and Sunshine sure get into crazy capers. I love their relationship with each other and the significant others in their lives. Wonderful craziness!
4/4 I highly recommend reading the other three books first as all three of them tie together. It's a good read and I loved all 4 books! This was an e book.
