So.....who do you trust?
Do you trust me?!
Because this is the first book I’ve read by this author. I’ve been made aware it’s her first thriller. And I can only say..

Thrilling ✔️
Edge of seat ✔️
Couldn’t put it down✔️
Didn’t want to put it down✔️
Unpredictable ✔️
Twists✔️
Tight plot✔️

Rebecca has a past, Rebecca has secrets, Rebecca has reoccurring nightmares.

She’s become a wife.
She’s become a mom.

Jamie is her husband.

But Rebecca has changed. Her mental well-being is in question.

The character parts within these chapters are well rounded. The plot is tight. It keeps your brain ticking and at one stage I thought I’d sorted it all out.

Jobs a good ‘un.....I thought.

No, no, I was definitely wrong.

I started this book late afternoon on Boxing Day. I couldn’t wait for a chance to get back to read more today, I ended up finishing it. The time flew so fast as I was totally engrossed between the pages.

Would I read more thrillers from this author?

Try and stop me!

Want a psychological thriller that you can't put down? MINE is the book for you! The lovely Casey Kelleher very kindly sent me an audio version of her first book in this genre and I was so excited to start. I had heard such great things about it and I was not disappointed.

Rebecca Dawson should be happy. She has a great husband, Jamie and has just given birth to a baby girl, Ella. Life should be good right? As a new mum she is struggling - stressed, tired and paranoid. She wants to be the perfect mother and wife but it is not easy. She feels like she is being stalked and is scared to leave the house. She is sure that her past is coming back to haunt her, a past that she has tried so hard to escape from and forget. Who is trying to ruin her life and why? She starts to wonder who she can trust, even Jamie seems distant and their relationship is on the rocks.

Reading this book you feel Rebecca's panic and fear. It is a twisty and fast paced story and I read it in 2 days. Highly recommend to lovers for this genre.

Thanks so much Casey - I loved it!

Yeah but no. Actually, if I could, I would give it a little less than three stars. Before you all jump up and down let me say this could be more a reflection of me than the book. I have read a LOT of psychological thrillers and after a while there is little that is new or different that could be included plot-wise.

Without going into the plot (there’s plenty of synopses out there) this book had all the usual suspects - an unreliable narrator, lies, secrets, a traumatic childhood, post natal depression, paranoia, an unsupportive husband and the spectre of a vengeful former boyfriend. I’ll give it credit for a nice little twist at the end which was a bit different otherwise it would have rated less stars from me. Even then I can enjoy these things, and occasionally do, but when the hand-wringing and internal guilt and introspection go into overdrive I run the other way.

MINE is the first psychological thriller by Casey Kelleher. and the first novel I have read by this author, but it won’t be the last. First of all, I want to say that I love the cover! As soon as I saw the cover, I was totally intrigued. Mine is a novel that when you pick it up, make sure that no one is going to disturb you, from beginning until end. This novel will grab you with all the twists and tension mounting right up to the explosive ending!

Her Novels/Series include:

Novels
Rotten To The Core (2011)
Rise and Fall (2012)
Heartless (2013)
Bad Blood (2014)
The Taken (2016)
The Promise (2017)
Mine (2020)

Series
Byrne Family Trilogy
1. The Betrayed (2017)
2. The Broken (2018)
3. The Forgotten (2018)

Rebecca Dawson lives a life that many women want - married to wealthy, handsome businessman Jamie and new mum to beautiful daughter, Ella. Rebecca is nervous as a new mum, stressed with lack of sleep, while worrying about the baby that she is doing everything right. She is struggling, and her life and relationship with her husband has changed drastically. Rebecca was unable to leave her child alone for even a minute. Jamie resented the present situation. Ella was now her priority and Jamie felt left out. The dynamics in the relationship had changed rapidly.

Then a series of sinister events leaves Rebecca convinced that she is being stalked. While her only priority is keeping Ella safe, Rebecca knows that this might be more than coincidence, and fears that her past is back to haunt her. Because somebody knows what she did. They are watching her, tormenting her and soon they are going to make her pay. Rebecca’s panic attacks and nightmares are getting worse.

While she hides her past, Rebecca finds herself unable to trust anyone, not even her husband. Even the reader doesn’t know who to trust! But Jamie is keeping secrets too. Is Jamie trying to show that Rebecca is unstable, in an attempt to cover up his own lies?

This is an amazing psychological thriller with well-developed characters, intricate plot and a steady level of tension and suspense to totally satisfy the reader. I loved it!

I wish to thank the author for allowing me to read her latest novel, and hope that she will continue to write in this genre.

So the queen of gangland has taken a step into the world of psychological thrillers and has shown that she can smash it in both genres.

Rebecca thinks her life is on the up. She has a wealthy, good looking hubby and a beautiful baby daughter. Motherhood isn’t all it’s cracked up to be though and Rebecca finds herself struggling. Not only is she struggling with motherhood, but the rest of her life seems to be falling apart also.

This is one of those stories where you don’t know quite what or who to believe. Rebecca can be unreliable at times which adds to the thrills in this novel. The tension is unrelenting with the suspense building into a frenzy as to what just did happen in her past, as well as who seems to have it in for her.

MINE is one of those novels that once picked up, you won’t be putting it back down anytime soon. I read it in one evening as was totally under the author’s spell. The twists thrilled and excited me in equal measure, making this one dark and mess with your head read. A psychological thriller that delivered on all scores for me.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

I’ve read a few of this authors previous books (though certainly not enough). This is her first psychological thriller and it’s an epic read.

I started reading this and then with Xmas I was too busy. However as soon as I had some me time on Xmas day I knew I had to read more and ended up sitting until I’d finished it.

I was so intrigued with Rebeccas story I couldn’t put it down. She’s hiding from her past and happy with the new life she has made for herself. Unfortunately she’s terrified that her past is coming back to haunt her when things start happening. It gets worse when her husband Jamie starts distrusting her but he has his own secrets to hide.

This is a brilliantly written story that had me gripped. No matter what way I thought in my head it was gonna go I was wrong. Certainly a story that has me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. I’m so hoping this author writes more psychological thrillers as this was an epic read.

I have always been a big fan of Casey Kelleher’s gritty crime thrillers, so I was eager to read her latest offering Mine, unlike her previous books this one is a psychological thriller, and what a fantastic, twisted read it turned out to be! I know there are a vast number of psychological thrivers published every year, so what makes Mine so special? It’s riveting, with a plot steeped in malevolence and trepidation, it’s one of those reads that will make you place everything on hold whilst you read to the end.

Rebecca thinks she found her ‘Prince charming’ who comes in the shape of wealthy Jamie, now happily married she gives birth to her daughter Ella, and here’s where the fairy tale ends and the nightmare begins! Ella is a demanding baby, and for Rebecca motherhood isn’t a stroll in the park, her mental wellbeing is a cause for concern, as her perfect life begins to crumble under the pressures of motherhood. I love an unreliable narrator and Rebecca is one such character or is she? At times she appears paranoid and delusional so its almost impossible to take anything she says at face value, I enjoy a book more when it messes with your head, and Casey Kelleher does just that with finesse. Is Rebecca spiralling into a psychosis? Or is her beloved James toying with her? So many questions to keep your head in a spin.

Sporadic chapters told from an unknown narrator add a growing sense of fear to the story, thick with tension I’m sure my blood pressure went through the roof by the halfway mark! The author manages to convey Rebecca’s frame of mind and emotions with such conviction; I found myself living and breathing her story; I became paranoid, anxious and fearful as Rebecca’s story took on a far more sinister tone. I really thought I had the plot worked out, and was feeling pretty smug with myself, but then OMG the author threw a curveball that I clearly didn’t see coming! Casey Kelleher has proven what an accomplished author she is, whether it be a gritty crime thriller or a psychological thriller, she certainly knows how to capture a reader’s attention. Highly recommended.

Loved this book 📖

Rebecca has the perfect life. A attractive husband with money and now they have a baby girl. But what looks perfect isn’t always true.

Rebecca has a past that she is trying to keep secret but things start to happen and she doesn’t know whether it’s real or she’s going crazy.

Rebecca feels someone is watching her, she saw someone on the home camera but not one believe her, the tapes got tampered with. But who would want to hurt her.

Things aren’t all they seem this book had me guessing till the end. Totally recommend

A cracking read of lies, deceit, more lies and more deceit and a chilling main character who will let nothing or no one get in their way….whatever the cost to anyone else
Packed full of red herrings this brutal, intense tale kept me on my toes throughout, never quite knowing what was coming next and who to trust/believe….right up until the last page
Really well written and atmospheric it was a sad,in many ways, story but electrifyingly told and wrong footed me more than once, disturbing to read about ‘rats’ and ‘ratting’ on the dark web,I had never heard of this before
A great psychological thriller.

This is the first psychological thriller from Casey Kelleher. I have previously read and loved all her gangland style books so was intrigued as to how much I'd enjoy this new genre! Well, she's only gone and smashed it out of the park!! I was gripped and could not put this book down at all. As familiar as I am with the psychological thriller my mind was absolutely blown by all the twists.

Rebecca Dawson is living the perfect life; married to wealthy, handsome businessman Jamie and new mum to beautiful daughter, Ella, she thinks nothing can burst her bubble. A series of sinister events leaves Rebecca convinced that she is being stalked but no one appears to believe her. They are under the impression that the stress of a newborn has got to her and at times you do doubt her as a reader. The author has perfectly captured that paranoia of motherhood. Rebecca finds herself unable to trust anyone, not even her husband because he is keeping secrets too. Is Jamie gas-lighting Rebecca into thinking she is going mad, in a bid to cover up his own sordid lies? What makes things more intense is that Rebecca knows that this might be more than coincidence and fears that her past is back to haunt her. Somebody knows what she did, they are watching her and they are determined to make her pay!

5 What the Hell Stars

Rebecca is struggling, being a new mother is a lot harder than she thought, she also has a feeling that someone is following her, watching her.
But why? Rebecca has it all. Jamie is rich, handsome, successful husband, with a beautiful home its everything she's ever wanted.

I’m your family now,’ Jamie said softly, taking Rebecca’s hand and holding it to his lips. Which made Rebecca wanted to weep, because she knew that he meant it. That Jamie would be true to his promise.

The more she is convinced by this the more her loved ones start to think she might be imagining it all.

Rebecca is not used to feeling out of control and even she starts to question what is really real now.
What if she had been hallucinating? What if she really was losing her mind

But Rebecca has secrets and maybe so has a Jamie.....

Rebecca is a complex character that has deep hidden secrets that her husband doesn’t know.
Jamie seems the perfect husband and father.... but is he

You never anticipate how your world can completely change in just a short space of seconds.

This is an exciting psychological thriller and a new gene by Casey Kelleher
It’s been a while since I’ve read a book almost nonstop in almost 2 days.
This exciting page turner that you start to ask yourself who is telling the truth, who do you trust.
As sinister events finally engulf the last few chapters I still didn’t see the finally twists and turns,
And it’s left me still thinking about it all long after the end.

I’m a fan of Casey Kelleher's gritty gangster thrillers but MINE just shows what a versatile writer she has become.
Excellent read to kick start 2020

In 'Mine', Rebecca and her loving, successful husband Jamie are over the moon when their daughter Ella is born. However, being a mother takes a toll on her. To make matters worse, she is being followed by someone with sinister intentions who might use her deepest, darkest secrets to destroy all that is precious to her..

The book was at its best when centered around Rebecca's struggle with Ella which was telegraphed convincingly through her thoughts and emotions. This was backed by snippets about a tragic accident peppered throughout, hence creating a layer of suspense in terms of who were in the car, who had died and why she had been desperately trying to escape.

The mystery behind her stalker started off interesting but the series of disconcerting incidents brought nothing new to the table and the police investigation was a joke. Despite Rebecca's plight, I found it hard to care due to the weak characterization. There was scarcely any thought put into the other characters though there were only a few.

The writing was problematic owing to the repetition of words (for example, fractious) and phrases. Besides that, the habit of placing question marks at the end of statement sentences (especially when it came to Rebecca) was terribly grating and distracting. It made everyone sound unconfident and unsure.

The denouement was clichéd, filled with lengthy explanations on how the perpetrator knew Rebecca's movements, why he / she was targeting her, how he / she will murder her, etc. These were also repeated to another character. Then of course, there was the 'stupid criminal syndrome'. Why didn't .

It turned out that . This didn't work for me as the perpetrator put in so much effort yet did nothing except scare her and Rebecca wasn't believable as the .

Overall, 'Mine' captured the difficulties that Rebecca faced as a mother but failed to develop the characters and create believable situations which put a tinge of blandness and disconnectedness on everything.

Pointless

I simply could not get pass the prologue before skimming through the pages. The best part about this book was the synopsis but this did nothing for me! It just lacked consistency and it had very poor character development.

This is my first book by Casey Kelleher which, if you have Amazon Prime, is currently free to borrow or only 99p to buy.

This is Casey’s first standalone psychological thriller, having made her name as a gangland/crime author previously and is also my first book by this author.

Mine is the tale of Rebecca, who appears to have it all at first glance. A handsome and wealthy husband called Jamie, a beautiful and luxurious home, and a brand new gorgeous baby daughter called Ella. It seems that Rebecca has found her Prince Charming and all her dreams have come true.

However, in the true style of any psychological thriller, all is not quite what it seems and whilst Rebecca should be enjoying her life, she quickly finds herself descending into a living nightmare. Motherhood is not all it is cracked up to be, the baby won’t stop crying, Rebecca hasn’t slept for weeks, the house is a tip, her nerves are shredded, Jamie seems to be distancing himself from her and now she has the unnerving feeling of being watched.

As Rebecca’s mental health starts to affect her judgement and behaviour, the reader begns to question her reliability as a narrator and whether her paranoia is real or someone is actually out to get her.

I really enjoyed this story which is full of twists and turns and dark, dirty secrets threatening to be revealed slowly throughout the book.

This was an easy 4 star read for me.

I've been reading on this one for awhile now. I'd pick it up and read for a bit, but it just didn't hold my attention. But, thank goodness, I finally finished it today! There's an unreliable female character, a suspicious acting husband, postpartum depression, paranoia, lies, childhood trauma. Sound familiar? If you've read any psychological thriller, you've already read this. There's nothing new here, and the characters aren't very interesting or likable. There's a big twist at the end that's different, but it didn't work for me and did nothing to enhance the overall story because it was so unbelievable.

Mine is the first psychological thriller from the pen (or keyboard) of Casey Kelleher and I am assuming not the last as she has created a tense, cleverly plotted and secret laden read that will keep readers absolutely glued to the page.

Take one woman with a seemingly perfect life, add in a dose of postnatal depression, a few familial issues from her past and a sense of being watched constantly and you are in for one heck of a dramatic and thrilling ride. This is exactly what the author has given us in the story of Rebecca, a woman who thinks she has her new start, a chance to make good what she cannot really change from her past. Now there are scenes laden throughout the book that indicate what part of that past might be, but we never quite get the full picture, the action snapping back to the present before too much of the game is given away.

There is a constant underlying tension in this story. You know that Rebecca is being watched, at least you think you know, but the question is by who? There is an obvious answer, and the actions of this person become more suspect by the day. Lots of little things which serve to undermine Rebecca, the author using the whole notion of gaslighting to perfection but creating enough doubt in the reader's mind to question whether or not it is all fiction or of Rebecca is slowly succumbing to some kind of postpartum psychosis. She is the archetypal unreliable narrator and her actions and insecurities, obsession even, about her daughter, Ella, meant that I hovered between liking her and feeling sorry for her, and wanting to give her a good slap. Yet I was still invested in what happened which is the hallmark of a great read.

The pacing is fast, the author never really giving the reader time to recover before dealing the next blow. It is all building to an ending which is as dramatic and nerve-wracking as it is shocking. It is one of those books in which you will never truly know which way is up and when you think you know, you're probably wrong. Fans of a good twisty psychological thriller with the most unreliable of narrators will love it.

This is a great psychological thriller.
Rebecca is newly married and soon has her first child, Ella.
Her husband used to be devoted to her but as Rebecca struggles with a crying baby, Mark becomes more and more distanced.
She’s clearly not coping but Mark doesn’t seem to care.
With the lack of sleep and nightmares that Rebecca also suffers, she is soon a walking zombie. However someone is making her life worse and creating incidents that make it look like Rebecca is losing it.
This is a gripping psychological thriller that I really enjoyed.

What can one say about this book.  It was so different to what I have seen from this author in the past and I loved it.
I loved reading about the story and seeing the progression for the main characters.
Rebecca at first you felt that she was the perfect wife.  She struggled with motherhood and her husband was distant but she still loved him despite all that he did.
Later I found that she was a great actor who played the role of Rebecca the loving wife and mother.
The husband who I immediately took a dislike to he began to grow on me as a character.  He wasn't all bad and he did care for them but he was being manipulate by sources outside his family.
Lisa the sister was a fun character who was the unmarried and often times forgotten sibling who loved her family.
The story was strong and I am still reeling at what happened in this book and also a bit confused as well.  Who really was the bad guy and what actually happened in Rebecca's past.
I loved this book and I think it's her best book ever with such an interesting character.
The author really had me going all the way through this book finding out tiny pieces of information and trying to put together just what happened.
The best word for this book is Awesome.

Mine is unputdownable

The first psychological thriller by this top gritty gangland crime author that will shake your emotions.
Kensington London, Rebecca and Jamie Dawson are newly married after a whirlwind romance, a quiet affair with just two witnesses, Lisa Jamie's sister and Michael for Rebecca sake with no family on her side. she now has Jamie now a a beautiful baby daughter Ella her family is complete, a new beginning then one word, one moment changes everything, but Rebecca would never turn out like her mother. So protective of Ella, the nightmares keep coming and things start to happen is she going crazy? Hallucination? Losing her mind?making up fabricated stories?, this book has it all, so much going on in each chapter that I was pulled into what's coming next then boom, her past has come back and won't let her go she has been punished once again and has to fight for her life. OH WOW a dynamic change for this author with an almighty twist to the end.
One word BRILLIANT.

Mine is Casey's first physiological thriller and I wasn't sure about this at first as I love all Casey's gritty crime.
Book did have me hooked at the start but found myself getting bored half way though.
I did finish the book but wasn't left blown away.
I will continue to read Casey's books as I think she is great, but this book was not for me.
For me personally I prefer her crime.

Meh. The novel wasn't horrible but it wasn't anything spectacular either. All of the characters were unlikeable except for the sister in-law. I wish there were more to them, maybe more history and background, because I wasn't attached or like any of them. By the end of the book, I didn't care what happened to them. Therefore the twist wasn't very impactful for me.
