R A T I N G: 1 star to Until

If I were to judge this book by its cover, I'd place it upon a pedestal believing it could only enclose a tale as presentable as its semblance. If I were to judge it by its content, I'd have to sadly (but promptly) remove it from any given pedestal while i chastised my usually non-malleable self for exchanging an attractive cover for my faith in full. Over and over again. I'd say I've learned a lesson but humans are drawn to beautiful things, and if marketing epitomises the handsome vision, I'm a slave to the glorious urge like any other layperson. This, and I was convinced by the expressly positive spate of reviews. What I quickly understood with Anna B. Doe’s Until is it looks the part more than it reads the part.

I didn't expect to feel so nonplussed or unaffected. I didn't expect that Until's many glaring issues and grammatical faults would pull me from the story quicker than anything else. I didn't see it coming and I'm dually baffled as much as I am disappointed, but - and much as I take zero delight in uncomplimentary scrutiny - witless writing is indefensible against any level of anticipation. The overarching excitement I had for this sports romance took a steep nosedive and it seems that I'll be presenting the spectral minority by opposing the tidal wave of rave reviews. Every day I made myself read this was another day I searched ardently for some meaning between the pages, but my search for connection always came up sparingly short.

If pushed for some positives, the few things that can be appreciated in an isolated sense were a few passages that describe Sienna's passion for dance, discourse about the menstrual cycle, Sienna's boldness in the bedroom and the bedroom scenes themselves. But none of the above listed redeemed what was a story without consistency, believability, depth, appealing characters and perhaps most crucially, without competent writing. I easily put faith in storytelling as an art form and believe that potential sits with any book that wants to be written but poor writing and poor form is a surefire causeway to divorce a reader from any read, which was the precise the cutting point for me. The execution just did not thrill.

It's the delivery of a story that can either breathe life into it or expel every breath from it, and perhaps the largest undoing of Anna B. Doe's Until is the unweeded writing style. But the abundant editing faux pas, the facile characterisation and the general fumbling inconsistency could easily assume cause for blame. Maybe there is a story beyond the numerous grammatical misdemeanors but what further lets this down are the tiresome characters themselves. I'll easily argue that characterisation is the crowning achievement of a narrative. I love characters; I wonder about them, I want to wander with them, breathe in their joys, delights and failings, add them to my list of fictional de facto family members and the richer the characterisation, the bigger and bolder becomes my joy, but even Doe's characters can't save this story.

The author tries to assume the traditional structure of a romance; to arm her protagonists' with backstories, histories that enable their bachelor/bachelorette lifestyles, to present a crossroads in their lives, and in the case of J.D., to include the novelty of responsibility when he finds out that he's more than just a son but a brother to a sister he'd never met. It was a shame that the story failed to exhibit any degree of depth or pointed gravity. For me, art needs to intrigue, and if nothing else to at least deliver intelligibly but Until is hampered by its own lack of tact and observation. And if I crave an instrumental fundamental with any romance, it's to fully believe in the entire package. The clincher for me was the general disbelief and disconnect with either MC and every side character. Which again, really comes down to the unmoving writing style.

I'm very much a cheerleader for the youthful spirit (I don't believe that wit, wonder and silliness should be estranged to age) but Sienna and J.D. were unappealingly infantile. I enjoy fictional drama as much as the next reader but the inane tantrums born from fresh air, the nonsensical outbursts and J.D.'s snide remarks aimed to provoke/insult his best friend for being vulnerable amounted to pointless dramatics that really weren't necessary. I do believe he steps up to the mark as he adapts to being an older brother but as much as the author wanted me to feel, I didn't feel at all. I've learned that in the case that a story is poorly written, most everything about it becomes disenchanting; it dispels the magic.

Along with narrative flaws, awkward dialogue, confusing developments that I was expected to follow, the relationships in this book were bemusingly vague. Sienna and Will suddenly become chummy without any progressive transition and I was just as surprised to understand how her friendship with Anabel transitioned from strangers to best buds. The author tells us without showing us. And with as much angst, indecision, resistance and personality the author tried to fold into the nondescript fray, the less believable it all became. But where one who storytells should consider their characters with presence and personality, the feelings, the memories, the conflict to the general temperaments of the protagonists’ performs like an early mock-up that fills the page with text rather than padding the story with credible content.

The book went from one scene to the next in building a story that just didn't work for me. There's no other way to say this except to assert that I was just unmoved by it all. Admittedly, I'm also fascinated by the eyes of a leading man but the author really needed to place a cap on the myriad references to her hero's 'sea green' eyes. Every time J.D. looked up, every time he locked eyes with his heroine, every time opened his eyes to face the day, I was reassured that his eyes were the very same shade and the very same colour. The three person POV sequence was refreshing (Sienna, J.D. and Grace - J.D’s younger sister) but again, every perspective could have very well been interchangeable, which isn’t something that should be the case with different personalities.

As a personal - and practical - opinion, I think the author really needed to polish up, critically examine and reappraise her voice as well as her content, because from what I read, this book didn't seem ready for publication. I frowned, I re-read passages over and over out of sheer confusion and ultimately just had a bit of a miserable time through and through. When I looked through my notes, the negatives were a lead weight to any minimal good and while this seems to be something of a crowd pleaser, it more accurately painted as a 'style over substance' visage for me. Of course, I'm never one to inflame bookish mutiny. Storytelling is a hard graft and I have a healthy respect for anyone who dares to push that pen. Just because this book wasn't for me, different strokes are for different folks so feel free to take your chances with this sports romance reader friends.

C O N T E N T_W A R N I N G: Detailed bedroom scenes, mentions drugs/drug taking, parental abuse/neglect.

E X T R A_T H O U G H T S:

1) In one scene on a night out, J.D.'s lucid enough to know that Sienna's drunk (i.e. slurring words a bit, can't hold herself up) and instead of doing the gentlemanly thing (which I like my heroes to do in such situations) by taking her home, he decides that it's a perfect opportunity to still sleep with her. Not major but just something to point out because I prefer to see a hero thinking about what the right call is in a situation like that.

2) In another scene, Sienna says this: "I’m trying to understand all these Star Wars, Star Trek or whatever stuff that is on, but I don’t get it at all. I’m a girly girl and I love watching girly movies. This geeky, Sci-Fi thing—not so much." - I don't really understand what her being a girly girl has to do with enjoying/sitting through a sci-fi movie? Also I remember her saying that before she entered the supermodel life, she was the smart/nerdy type so I don't understand what would have changed, or why she can't be the uncategorised, dynamic model who lives outside of a stereotype.

3) As I expressed in my review, the grammar inaccuracies Infiltrated the entire read, and to just address the the foibles, I'm going to list a few offending disruptions: awkward/stilted sentence structure, missing words from sentences, misplaced words, added words, misspelled words, numerous grammar inaccuracies. What makes the writing and dialogue strangely stiff and uncomfortably formal is the way the author pointedly eschews the use of contractions (with pronouns too) and on the rare occasion it's anomalously decided upon to use them, it’s in sentences like this: She doesn’t even try to hide how pissed off she’s with the whole situation.' or 'That’s how desperate I’m for him.'

Just to elaborate on the kind on the grammar issues, I'll give a few examples below:

- 'Her skinny body is sharking in my arms and she’s holding me for dear life like she’s afraid if she lets go we’ll disappear and she’ll be alone.'

-She squirts her eyes while she looks at it.'

-I guess her asshole of the doorman called to tell her I stormed my way into her building.'

-“Don’t act dumb Cassie,” I warn her through gritted teeth. “She left me a note with your name in it before she run away. Coincidence, I’d say not.”

-Breath is stuck in my throat and I feel every nerve ending stand in attention on what’s to come.'

-“Mr. Price…” My traitorous heart falls down from its high of hope.

-'Bruises and needle marks adore the skin of her arms.'
-She’s so gracious. It’s almost as if she slides over the floor.'

- 'belly bottom.'

-I’m not sure what just happened, but I hope it’s one big nightmare. Because if it isn’t, I’m in one big shit."

-“I’m sorry,” I say softly, putting my hand on her skinny tight. “That was inconsiderate of me.”

-"Then again, Cassie wouldn’t ask for money if she had any. The ratty, half-fallen apart building equals to that."

-"The lump in my throat grows bigger, enabling me to breathe, to speak."

-"What is even scarier and freaks the hell out of me is that she is almost a teenager girl."

-The beat of it matches the flow of the blood in my veins. Words are the blur that loses all the meaning of this place.'

-The silence that fills the room is loud. Which is a total oxymoron, but also a total truth."

-“Maybe she doesn’t want to be with you because you have to take care of me.” “Hey, it has nothing to do with you,” I repeat quietly. “Sienna loves you because you are kind and smart and pretty....' - (this one isn't so much an example of bad grammar but of J.D.'s tacking 'pretty' into the mentioned list of why his sister should be loved 😕).

“I don’t want to hurt you, Si,” he cups my cheeks and moves closer. “The last thing I want to do is to hurt you or see you cry.”
“I know,” I sniffle. “But you have the power to do it. That’s the scary part. All these things I feel for you, they can break me.”
“You can break me too. You are not alone in this, babe. All those feelings you feel,” his hand lands on my chest where my heart lays. “I feel them too. My heart can’t beat if you are not with me.”

Another well written story in the NY Knight’s series. I have become a new fan of Ms. Doe’s.

I was first introduced to her writing in Lost & Found and she has written another fabulous story with Until.

“One-night stands, that’s me. Sexy flirting, hot fuck, and you’re out. That’s me.” “It doesn’t have to be complicated. Hell, I don’t do complicated. I’m too busy for it, we both are. But, what you’re doing to my body … I haven’t felt this alive in a long time. You can be a real pain in the ass outside the bed, but what we have here, this fire, I don’t want to give it up. I want more of it. I want more of you. And if you don’t feel the same I can’t stop you from kicking my ass out right this second, but I know you feel the same.”

J. D & Sienna OMG! These two! I first feel in love with them in book 1 in the series. They are both great best friends to Will & Anabel. I knew from the bits and pieces of their convos that there was much more to these two than what met the eye and boy is that true! Reading this and getting the whole picture of their 'relationship' was like finding the missing puzzle pieces.

“What I know is that you shouldn’t let your past define you. You shouldn’t let that jerk have power over your present and future.” “Sometimes it’s not so easy to forgive and forget,” I mutter. “Didn’t you hear? Women can forgive, but they never forget.” Her words are meant to lighten the mood, but they actually strike me hard. “I’m not sure I can forgive, either.” “Then don’t.” She shrugs and walks back behind the bar. “But don’t let it control who you are now. Be happy, Si. You deserve to be happy.”

I just loved these two as much as Will and Anabel, if not more. I loved the fact that we got POVs from J. D's sister. She was an important piece in their story and I really am glad this book was written the way it was because it was clever and oh so amazing.

“Are you getting all whoopy on me, Shelton?” “I was getting used to you stealing more than half of my king-size bed and covers,” he teases in an exaggerated tone. “Then you should enjoy it now while I’m not there. All that space and warm blankets all for yourself.” “I’d rather have your pushy ass in my bed.”

If you picked up the first book in the series and have yet to read this one then get it! You won't regret it! And if you haven't started this series that what are you waiting for? Book 1 is currently free on Amazon.

Until is the second book in the New York Knights series by Anna B. Doe.   With all the emotions from the first book, I didn’t know how Ms. Doe could top it.   Well, I can happily admit I was wrong. Sienna and J. D.'s story will knock you sideways and put you back together again.

Living in the limelight, fashion model Sienna Roberts is used to keeping people at arm’s length.

Pro-football player J.D. Shelton learned a long time ago that women cannot be trusted.

What could go wrong with a synopsis like that?  You have no idea until you read this one!  This can be read as standalone, but so much more enjoyable reading the books in order as we are introduced to this couple in the first book.

What I enjoy about reading Anna B. Doe's books is the realism of them and this installment is no different.  Everything from the heartfelt moments to the chemistry to the emotions and storyline.  The details of each and the connections that are made are brilliantly written.  I can't wait to read more.

hot and sexy JD

Although I read the Kiss to….series first I knew I wanted to know all about JD and I’m glad I did.

I love the characters and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Grace but most of all I love that JD was genuine from the beginning of the book till the end, his feelings and his choices. The bond he had with Grace being the best brother he can be and when Sienna and he got together JD’s feelings were there but ugh I was so annoyed at her. Anyways I love love love JD 🤷🏽‍♀️

I would read book 1 before this one as they interconnect. You get three Pov's in this one which was interesting to me and a different twist. Sienna and JD both have stuff in there past they struggle with. These two turn each others worlds upside down and its one interesting ride. I struggled with feeling like something was missing they make major issues out of things that seem so minor. But overall its a sweet book.

In this story we are now following the perspective of Sienna Roberts and J D Shelton.
After Anne knocked into William in the club and was pulled away by Sienna to the bathrooms, we see that JD also has his eye on Sienna and takes her home for some hot and steamy. But the next morning is very different. Sienna’s mood has totally changed and she is now kicking JD out of the house the following morning no niceties or a morning shower together just get gone.
JD is really surprised and doesn’t know what he did for the change, so takes off.
JD has some issues of his own and it seems his mother is back after 20 years asking for money and that he has a sister.
I loved this story how all the characters interacted with each other, and how the relationship grows between Sienna and JD, will they or won’t they stay together, will there issues from their pasts put a stop on their love for each other.
Can’t wait to see what comes in the next instalment by Anna B. Doe.

I was so glad to finally read J.D and Sienna’s story. If you had read the first book, you knew these two connected immediately as well. Some parts of their story were shown through William and Anabel’s. Two people who have lost faith and swearing to never be hurt again… Until they met. A story darker than the first one. I really appreciated to finally read their journey.

J.D and Sienna were definitely not looking for love, broken souls who may have all the success in the world but terribly lonely, both wearing deep scars that few people could see. Never letting people in. Even with all this, they ignited at the first encounter, burned a lot together until it was time to decide if they would be vulnerable again by giving their hearts to someone.

J.D had almost everything to be happy, great and successful football career, fame, women… but was it still enough to fulfill this void and also erase the demons from his past? Pretty laid back guy, joyful and someone you can rely on. He might have not the greatest family but terrific friends, people who got his back no matter what.

Sienna may have as well living a dream job but as the years passed by, you could sense she was looking for something more. As a model she travelled all around the world, meeting some people from time to time, but it wasn’t enough. I liked how it was more than meet the eye, beautiful inside and out.

As the story unfold, trying a little tenderness suited them. Having both hot-tempered personalities lead to some fights, and their stubbornness… not better at times, it was just so passionate. I appreciated how they brought all the broken pieces of their souls together, just naturally but also gathered so much strength.

I appreciated reading this story. Complex, real and in between so much love and genuine moments. Steamy and hot.

I loved this book. Finally I read it! It was too long on my TBR.

It was an easy escape read, and the characters are all well developed. Ending was perfect! I loved to read such a sweet love story like this one.
Main characters are Sienna and J.D., and trust me, you will love them! They were so perfect together! And hot! J.D. is my new book boyfriend. He’s kind, talented, caring, protective and loving. I also liked Grace.

It was insta love but I’m more for slow burn romances. It’s still good and I really enjoy reading it. First book of the series is still my favorites. I wish we could read a little more about William and Anna here.

Anna B. Doe writes beautifully and absolutely believably. I loved everything about “Until”, and I cannot wait for the next in her New York Knights series. Flawlessly executed and perfectly written!

My first reads of Anna B. Doe’s were the books in this series, New York Knights, book 1 “Lost & Found” and then book 2 “Until”. I absolutely loved her story lines, characters, and the genuine believability of it in its entirety. The first two books in this series tied together perfectly. I would encourage a reader to read this in order, as a series, specifically because of character development in the storyline and some of the details surrounding the characters and their lives. The first book lays a lot of the foundation for the reader of the characters, how they all tie together, and then each book delves a little deeper into each of the characters’ stories.

Without giving away too much, I will speak generally about book 2, “Until”. “Until” is JD and Sienna’s story and follows much of their rollercoaster relationship that started to unfold in book 1, “Lost & Found”. JD is a professional football player, has not had especially good luck in the relationship department, most of his encounters with women are quick hookups or one-night stands, but none of that really bothers him much. He doesn’t want to settle down yet, he doesn’t necessarily want to fall in love either, but he does like a good time and a hookup every now and then. Sienna is a model JD has known for some time. They were in some photo shoots together, involving his football team, and they became friendly. Like JD, Sienna isn’t really much into a tied down relationship. She often travels for photo shoots, just has a busy career and doesn’t have or want much of a commitment or be tied down to anyone for any length of time. They hooked up in “Lost & Found” and remained friendly, but it wasn’t anything serious. But they do find something in the other that seems it could lead to more. Unfortunately, they think something could be there, but they just aren’t sure if it’s a good idea to pursue any further than a friends with benefits relationship. Besides both of their focus being primarily on themselves and their careers, neither of them can really trust being in a relationship. Like I said, most of the “relations” they have had in their lives were quick, one-night stands, and that was satisfaction enough. So, not wanting a committed relationship seems like the best idea for both of them. As well, they each have their own baggage, secrets, and trust issues. And until they can learn to trust one other, first in trusting themselves, they don’t know if a relationship between them would ever work.

One of the things I most enjoyed about Anna B. Doe’s books was her ability to describe her characters in such great detail and set the scene for the reader. She doesn’t do it by writing a ton of useless, extra wording. It is very succinct, detailed, helpful, and masterfully crafted to be able to learn about her characters, build and develop their lives and relationships, and it helped form my opinions early on about each character. I also loved her ability to tie everything together so well, whether it was how her characters knew one another, the events they were involved in, their individual lives; I felt like I knew their stories so well because it was crafted so perfectly and tied up so well. I am extremely excited to read more in this series, as well as picking up other books by Anna B. Doe. I was extremely impressed with her skill, ability, and the tremendous thought she put into each of these books. They read seamlessly from “Lost & Found” to “Until”, and I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for these characters or new ones to come along. Flawlessly executed and perfectly written!

5 RAW stars! This is a sinfully written masterpiece. I enjoyed every page as a little kid in a candy shop.

“J.D. Shelton is all woman can ask for and then some more.”

I am so excited because discovering Anna B. Doe was an amazing experience. She is so talented. Her writing has me over the moon. Reading her work was worthy of my time. After reading “Lost & Found” she left me wanting more. Her male characters are something from another world. They are perfect knights.

Reading “Until”, the second installment in the New York Knight series, left me satisfied, however, I need more and more. Anna B. Doe delivers a mind-blowing story. Her writing has improved brilliantly. Every page is a greater pleasure. This book tells us J.D. and Sienna’s story. I loved that some things that I missed in “Lost and Found” were clarified in this book. (We can enjoy more of Will and Anabel’s story).

J.D. and Sienna are strong characters, they are complex and they have some issues in the trust department. They are an explosive couple. When they are in the same room there are sparks. J.D. is like gasoline and Sienna is like fire and together can be consumed in a powerful passion.

“There hasn’t been a man that affected me like that in… ever. I don’t know what it’s about J.D., but every time he’s near I lose myself to him.”

Who wants a Prince Charming when you can have a sinful player, a courageous man with a big heart, a real man just like J.D.? He is imperfectly perfect, a good brother, son and friend. He has a little issue trusting but he has a good heart.  He wasn’t living at the fullest until Grace and Sienna appeared in his life. As a player, he is intense and hard working. But he will find to his match, a model who will give him a taste of his own medicine.

“I’ve always know that J.D.’s not a poet or a romantic. He is just a simple man.”

Sienna Roberts is my favorite heroine. Her sassy mouth and clever mind make her unique. Her beauty is in and outside but her heart was broken in the past. She doesn't trust easily. She was cheated by her boyfriend and best friend and that marked her. She never has allowed any man near hear heart  until J.D. He is her weakness. He has awaken feelings in her that she tried to hide. She is a beautiful model, a loyal friend and a talented dancer and a strong independent woman who knows what she wants.

“This is what I’m doing to him. This big, strong man in front of me is crumbling pieces. I maybe am at his feet, but he’s mine to control. Mine to own.”

Fate will push them. They deserve to have their own happily ever after because Sienna and J. D. deserve to be happy and the only way to reach happiness is being together. Their souls crave companion and their hearts crave a deep and pure feeling. They are good people trying to find their right place in earth. Their story is a raw romance and what they share is more than lust.

I highly recommend you this book because is well developed and the characters stole a piece of my heart. I enjoyed every page as a little kid in a candy shop. The sex scenes were steamy and sinfully written. There is a big difference between the first book and this one. William and Anabel have a special place in my heart but Shelton and Roberts stole it. 4 stars for Until by Anna B Doe. This is book two in the New York Knights Series. While it is said to be a standalone, I personally wish I would have read the first book before I read this one. I feel like I might have missed some important parts that involve these characters. I feel the main point of this story is about over coming your past and the things that happen to you in them.
Sienna is a model who has not had the best luck with trusting people or with love. She is ok with one-night stands. She is not going to put herself out there to be broken again.
“I was betrayed by those I loved. Those I believed in. It was the first and the last time I let myself love someone outside my family.
Love makes you weak. It makes you wish for things you can't have. It makes you vulnerable, and I swore I would never again go down that path.
Until I met him—Jack Daniel Shelton”
Jack is a professional football player who was ruined by the ones he loved. He says he will never put himself back out there again. All that changes when he meets Sienna. Can these two who had lost all faith in love and trust come together and be in love.
I loved these two characters and how the story between them develops. I hated seeing how they had both been betrayed in the past and how they had lost faith in love. I cannot say enough great things about this story and how the author develops the characters. I loved every page of this book.
This is my second book from this author, and I am looking forward to reading more from her. She is becoming one of my favorites with every book I read of hers. I also love the cover of this book. The way the couple is trying to kiss. It is almost like this invisible force is keeping them apart like in the book how their past is keeping them apart. This is a great read and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an emotional read.

I really liked the New York Knights series but I gotta say Until was definitely my favorite of the 3 books. As much as I loved Anabel and William’s story I really loved Sienna and J.D.’s more.❤

Sienna is a sassy, independent fashion model who keeps people at a distance especially when it comes to men. With a busy schedule Sienna has no time for love or so that’s how she prefers to see it. When her friend Anabel bumps into William Price, Sienna tries to play matchmaker all the while she’s diving into the deep end with his teammate and best friend J.D. What was suppose to be a one and done starts becoming more complicated when they can’t seem to keep there hands off of each other. When things seem to get too serious though Sienna does what she does best and that is run away so she won’t have to face heartache like she had before.
J.D. and his dad were left alone by his mother and after many years his dear old mom decides to pop back up with a motive and quite a secret. With J.D.’s life now changing and having to take care of not only himself but another person he’s not sure if he can actually do it. It just so happens that Sienna ends up being the most helpful and the only person to know J.D.’s secret. Both there lives are a mess and with her not wanting anything serious how much longer can things really go on...

Such an enjoyable read full of passion and pain. I loved Sienna so much even when she was being stubborn. J.D. really evolved throughout the book and proved to be not only a great parental figure but a committed “boyfriend”. lol This story almost made me cry at one point and then had me all happy it was definitely an emotional read. 😊

Sienna Roberts was betrayed by people that she loved in college, which has made her very jaded/guarded, and determined to never put herself in that position again. Now, she refuses to love anyone outside of her family, which had been working for her until she meets Jack Daniel Shelton. JD was burned by a woman when he was young, so promised himself that he would never allow anyone to have that kind of hold over him again, especially women. But when the woman who hurt him most shows back up, he can't walk away, because she has a secret that he can turn his back on, not to mention it could ruin everything he's worked for. On top of that, Sienna comes into his life, and he can't stay away from her, no matter how hard she tries to keep him away. Until is the second book in the New York Knights series, and while it's about a different couple, it intertwines a bunch, so you really need to read Lost & Found first. JD & Sienna are great together, although both of them at different intervals, had me dying to shake them at the stubbornness they displayed. And yes, I understood the reasoning behind it, but the push & pull made me crazy more than once. However, their chemistry was off the charts intense, which never failed to explode into serious flames to set the sheets on fire during sexy times, when they were together. And the angst filled moments pulled on my heartstrings quite a bit, especially when it came to a certain secondary who had their own POV at times, so my eyes threatened to leak a time or two. Anna B. Doe has a talented writing style that's becoming an addiction for me, as I'm really loving this series, especially since the super sexy men are football players, so I cannot wait for more of the series to come out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

JD much prefers the one night stand relationships because he knows that he won’t get attached, and Sienna enjoys the physical connection but doesn’t want anything to do with the emotional side; they both have had the opposite sex let them down in the past and they don’t want to risk their hearts. When they meet at a night club they end up in bed together, but this doesn’t end after one night like their usual ‘connections’. They have to decide if the chance to be together is worth the potential risk of getting their heart broken… again.

I really enjoyed the way the author wrote these characters and their interactions. We met them previously in ‘Lost & Found’ (well I didn’t read that until after this book.. but if you had read them in order like recommended you would’ve met them in the 1st book) and it was nice to see their story. They both have secrets from their past and reasons for why they are hesitant to relationships. To see the way the author brings them together & takes their relationship from a one night stand, to casual hookups, to friends, then to more was kind of emotional, to be honest. I love reading books where the main Hero & heroine can overcome something drastic from their past that has totally shaped their present into the way it is. If you haven’t read this book, you really need to - but read Lost & Found first!

**4 Stars - I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book

Handsome, successful, rich, football player J.D. Shelton is used to the life-style of a professional athlete; the training, diets, workouts, parties, and gorgeous women that he can hit it and quit it with.  What he’s not used to is the likes of Sienna Roberts; a professional model who kicks him out of her bed the minute she’s gotten what she wants from him.  The two emotionally damaged pair seem to have an undeniable chemistry in the bedroom but struggle with simple conversation on the outside.  J.D. and Sienna must figure out if they can fight past their own demons and still help each other with the day to day life of living in the spotlight.

Until by Anna B. Doe is a delightful story about two people that have had their hearts broken but in completely separate ways, one as a child and the other as an adult.  I enjoyed reading about Sienna and J.D. and seeing how the two characters developed and how they grew with each other.    Because they were each damaged in their own way they were able to build and gather a different kind of strength from one another.  Until was a story not just about romance but about learning to trust and find goodness in others, and the fact that it involved a hot, sexy football player was just a bonus.  I giveUntil 5 stars and can’t wait to read the novella Lost and Found by Anna B. Doe

Oh, how I love this series! I was so excited to read book two. Anna’s writing style is charming, easy to read, and most of all, natural! Her characters are so easy to identify with and you can’t help but fall in love with them.
J.D. is a starting player with the New York Knights and best friend to Will Price. You may remember him from my review of Lost & Found - book one of the series. J.D. learns that he has a younger sister - Grace - and his entire world changes.
Sienna, who we also met in Lost & Found, is a super model and best friend of Anabel, Will’s girlfriend. While she has made a career of modeling, and found a bit of fame along the way, her first love is dancing. When she is not on the road, she helps her mother teach dance classes at the Community Center, where underprivileged kids can get away from their home lives, even if only for a few hours.
J.D. and Sienna have an understanding. No strings attached... it’s safer that way... Sienna was hurt before and is not willing to risk her heart again.
I loved revisiting pieces of Will and Bel’s story, while getting to understand the story from J.D. and Sienna’s perspectives.
The story took a bit of an unexpected turn for me, and I felt J.D.’s fear as if it were my own. For me, that is a sign of a well-written book.
This is a book that I would highly recommend for anyone that loves a sweet, sexy romance!

You should read Lost & Found before reading this book as its book one, and the stories run consecutively to each other. This book is told in three. It's not just Sienna and J.D.'s POV. It's also in his sisters.

“A rebel, all sass, and attitude.”
~Sienna~

Sienna is all that and more. She's also soft, sweet, caring, and damaged. My opinion Sienna lives in the past too much. I can kind of understand holding a grudge for what happened to her, but at some point you gotta let it go. Especially when it harms your present and future relationships.

Not really a spoiler, but J.D. has a sister. One who he knew nothing about for the first 12 years of her life. Not his fault. I like J.D. and commend him on his choices regarding that matter. There are times he's a bit of an a$$ but all honesty that's to be understandable with the things he's been through himself.

Grace is such an amazing little girl, who has been through more than anyone should in their life. When she and J.D. are together is one kind of special, but her and Sienna are the package deal. The great duo. The ones to bring J.D. to his knees.

Sienna and J.D. together is nothing short of scorching though. Even when they fight, it's hot. And they fight a lot. They both have a combative type of personalities and neither wants to give. The soft moments completely make up for it though. I liked this book and their story a lot.

Another story in the New York Knights series by Anna B Doe, that I enjoyed. This books was sweet with some steamy parts. There was true meaning to how some people live their lives in the world.

If you’ve read Lost & Found, book 1 in this series, then you have already met our main characters in this story, Sienna and JD. The two show instant chemistry! Individually they are sexy, but put together they are straight heat! In the beginning, they are both looking for something just fun because it is just too much for them to juggle a serious relationship with the other struggles in their life. Sienna we broken in the past so she keeps her gaurd up around everyone. JD has just found out some big news that changes his entire life. No matter the struggles they both go through, life just keeps drawing them back together and making them question all the feeling they have for each other. When they are around each other it is hard for them both to not feel the sparks between them, especially in the bedroom. You get to see how strong Sienna is. She knows she is a strong woman, but she keeps letting her past get in the way. JD is also strong, but he has to learn to be able to open up to people and let women especially in.

I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to others. I look forward to reading more of Anna B Doe’s books in the future!

𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲: Until
𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: New York Knights #2
𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿: Anna B. Doe
𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: ☆☆☆☆☆ 5/5

I loved this book so much! I read this book after I read the Anabel & William Duet which is book 1 & 3 from the New York Knights combined in one book. Just so you know, Until does have spoilers for Lost & Found (which is book 1). If you plan on reading everything, I would recommend reading at least book 1 first. After reading about Anabel and William I was already curious about Sienna and J.D. And I just fell in love with Sienna more and more in this book. She’s so strong, but also fragile. It was great to see her develop throughout the book. Same goes for J.D. he totally stole my heart. Even more so, I loved both their interactions with Grace. It was just so heartwarming and endearing. Also, I loved how Grace also got her own chapters and POV, it made the book even better since she is such a big part of the story (no spoilers, so I won’t say anything else). The writing and the pace was awesome as well, I just wanted to turn the page and read more. I definitely recommend reading this book, even more so.. I recommend reading this whole series, it’s great!

I love JD and Sienna

This is a great follow up to Lost and Found.  As I was reading Lost & Found (Anna's 1st book) I wanted to know more about JD and Sienna.  This book gave me that.

Sienna was determined never to put herself in a position to be hurt by anyone again after her 1st college boyfriend hooked up with her roommate/best friend. She is guarded and closed off to possibilities until she meets Jack Daniel Shelton.

JD was abandoned by his mother Cassie when he was young.  After she walked out it was just JD and his dad pushing through life together. He made a promise to himself that he would never allow a women to hurt him like that again until he meets Sienna Roberts.

JD and Sienna had intense chemistry even when they were fighting it.  There were parts while reading I really wished it was possible to jump inside the book, shake them both and make them see that they belong together.

I really enjoyed JD and Sienna's story.  And I did a great job bringing the characters to life and answering all the questions I had in the first book.

This story is a must-read.

** I have received an Arc for a honest review!**

This is my first book I have read that was written by Anna and it definitely won’t be my last!! Can’t wait for her next book!

Until have two main characters: Sierra and J.D.

Sierra has a career as a model. Her love and devotion was always been dancing. Her mom, Harriet Roberts, owns a dancing studio. Harriet decides to volunteer at the youth center, giving free dance classes. Sierra occasionally comes and helps her mom. Sierra meets Grace not knowing her brother is J.D.

J.D. has quite a horrific childhood. His mother, Cassie Shelton, left him when he was young. She is always looking for her next fix and has nothing to do with J.D. His Dad, Daniel Shelton, was his only parent. J.D. is on the NFL team, New York Knights. J.D. finds out one day that he has a sister, Grace.

Chapter 16
“That was my promise to myself. Never again will I give power over myself to somebody else. Never again will I let somebody in, only for them to leave chaos behind before they shut the door in my tear-stained face.”

I loved this book!! Please one click to find out what happens. You won’t be disappointed!!

Until is the second book in the New York Knights series and so far it is my favorite one yet, I know we are early in the series but I really liked this book. I especially liked the way JD and Sienna developed together and with Grace.

JD is a professional football player and not willing to consider anything other than quick and fun when it comes to women. He is familiar with the pain of them walking away and refuses to ever go through that again...well until he meets Sienna.

Sienna is a model who thinks she is living her life exactly how she wants it; fun, able to travel, makes great money and has no emotional attachments... Then she meets JD and she planned to forget him too after the night was over...but fate had different plans.

Nothing about these two stubborn people was easy, they consistently made a mountain out of an anthill...well mostly Sienna, but they were unable to find common ground until a scare Bri game them together...will they finally be able to find their way?

I’m diving right into the next book and I recommend you get started!

Until involves J.D. and Sienna from Lost and Found. I like how this story starts at the beginning and carries you through the same happenings as it coincides with Lost and Found’s timeline. I had so many curious questions during Lost and Found about Sienna and J.D.’s relationship and this answered them. I love how down to earth Sienna is, especially since she’s a model. She is not immune to cruelty and judgment. Because of this, she cherishes those around her and is a down-to-earth friend. Since she was hurt in the past by a lost love, she is guarding her heart. J.D. is blown away by Sienna and not just by her natural beauty. When finding the love of your life is hard enough on its own, throw in some family complications and it just adds to the stress. I love seeing how these two supports their friends, without adding to their friends’ woes. It shows their genuine friendship and personality to help those they love. This is another great story of growing in love and finding your true, happy self at the same time.
I was given a free copy I exchange for my honest review.

Angsty, steamy, and wholehearted

I have heard of J.D. and Sienna since I read "Kiss Before Midnight" then "William and Anabel's Duet" and "Kiss To Remember" so when I have a free time from reviewing ARCs, I decide it's time to know how their story is.

Well first of all, the story starts with a bang for sure. Their chemistry alone can set the book on fire so when they have their first sexual encounter, it's mind-blowing. After that the story takes turn with a sensitive subject so brace yourself. I like that Anna B. Doe decide to write the book with three characters' POVs because even if the book is about J.D. and Sienna, I think Grace is the key to their happiness. And since both J.D. and Sienna have their own issues, the story is quite angsty too. The best thing is I think they have been healed by each other. I always have a soft spot for Grace so I cry for what she had been through before J.D. happens. And seriously with everything they have been through together, I feel heartwarming that all three of them finally have their happy ending.

✨ I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review ✨

We met Sienna and J. D in the first book were their story started and actually as we see in this book went on side by side with Anabel and Williams . Sienna and J.D chemistry did actually outshine the main character in the first one and I was really looking forward to reading their story.

Both Sienna and J.D have been betrayed and hurt by people they love, resulting in that they find it hard letting people in . Despite this they can’t neglect the strong attraction between them so they give in to it with the deal no stings attached . But as their chemistry gets stronger so do their insecurities.

I liked this book and the story was easy to follow , the secondary character also contributed to make the story interesting. I did however miss that connection with the plot , you know to really feel the story . Overall it was a cute story .
