What a colossal waste of time. You can’t make up for bar theology with good stories. I really wanted to love this book, but her whole premise seems to be that you can get your own special revelations from God. I don’t know how many times she said: “God told me…”. If you’re into the whole “Sarah Young/ Jesus Calling” theology you just might enjoy this.
I would ask for my money back if I hadn’t spent so little on it.
Sorry to be so honest. I just couldn’t hold it in.
This book is written primarily for those who are interested in writing worship music but I believe it also speaks to Christian writers of all kinds. We must be careful that our words speak truth & that we don’t run on endlessly, just to hear our own voice. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. – Ecclesiastes 5:2 NIV

I received this book free from the publisher, David C Cook, in exchange for an honest review.
This is a quite rare theme, a book about writing worship song. Its not about the theory of writing songs, more on author's own experiences while writing songs.
Wow. I’m thankful for this book. Krissy’s heart is shown clearly, her deep love for Jesus, which helped me receive the gift of practical ways to grow in songwriting and co-writing. I feel like I have so many more tools to use after reading this. If you’re looking for practical ways to grow as a worship songwriter, you should read this with a pen in hand! Thank you, Krissy!!!
If you feel a call to write songs, especially worship music, you will find gems of information in this book. But, more than that, you will be challenged to develop and deepen your relationship with the ONE we worship!
