Elle In my life, when rains, it doesn't just pour, it's a mind-melting monsoon of misery. All that can go wrong does go wrong. And now I'm in trouble with a capital T. In a panic, I call my dad and ask him to come help me out of my current mess. Only it's not my dad who shows up. It's one of the hottest guys I've ever seen. Too bad I vowed to never date or fall in love again. But then, fate interferes and pushes us together. One steamy encounter leads to another and another and another and then, typically for me, to disaster. Will my knight in tight blue jeans and a T-shirt come to my rescue one more time?
Blake All I wanted was to get some damn sleep. But then I get a phone call from a stranger begging me to come get her. Whoever she is and wherever she is, she needs help with a capital H. After helping the curvy little redhead out, I doubt I'll ever see her again. Shame. We could have had some fun. A week later, when our paths unexpectedly cross, I wonder if destiny is pushing us together...before cruelly tearing us apart. This time I don't know if I can save her, but I'll die trying.
Blake, Book 1 in the Broadaxe Security series is a quick and steamy rom-com. If you enjoy alpha males with big hearts, feisty, hot-mess heroines, and feel-good, short romance stories, then you'll love Blake and Elle's story.
No cliffhangers. No cheating. One very happy ever after.
This novella can be read as a standalone story or as part of the series.
Cora York adores steamy stories about sassy women and the sexy men who push them to their limits. But, these days, thanks to her job as a full-time domestic goddess and kid-chauffeur, she no longer has the luxury of sitting down to read full-length romance novels. To get her fix, she created Quick Reads for Fast Lives--all the romance in a fraction of the time.

Blake is the first story in Cora York’s Broadaxe Security series and provides readers with a well-written and intriguing tale from the very first page. Elle and Blake meet under unusual circumstances to say the least, but there is definitely a sizzling attraction, and their relationship soon evolves from strangers to lovers.
I liked both these characters and was intrigued by Blake’s partners, who I presume will be front and centre in stories yet to come. Blake is a quick, novella length read, and I suppose best described as an insta-love scenario, with some danger and corruption thrown in for good measure. But a lot happens in this short but captivating story and I'm certain it will entice readers to want more from this author. I’m looking forward to the next exciting instalment from the Broadaxe Security team.
This was a quick, short story that delivered some nice moments in particular how the main characters Elle and Blake first met, yet it was lacking in heat, and I didn't feel that connection either. But saying that I did enjoy the story and I was engaged, so if you're looking for a quick instalove romance featuring a heroic alpha male then you should definitely check this story out.
Blake is book 1 in the Broadaxe Security series written by author Cora York. She's a new author for me but definite could became a favorite. This is Blake and Elle's story, a fast pace romantic comedy! If you enjoy tough guys with big hearts and courageous plus sexy troublemaker leading lady, then this book is for you. Can't wait for book 2.
A girl full of trouble needed a knight to save her, little did Elle realise Blake would be anything to keep her safe. I truly enjoyed this book. A little suspense and lots of steamy moments. A great quick read.
Great short Insta-love book. This story had a strong alpha male, a sexy, strong female and lots of twists and turns. I love these stories because they are short but still keep you glued to the pages.
