The story's about Ryan and Jessie.

I loved that they're best friends since they're teenagers and that there's no one else for them since. I loved how obsessed he was, how he protected her and took care of her. I loved how patient he was and how he loved her. She on the other hand made me a little crazy. She had a lot going on and I just wanted her to stop and see how great of a man he was. Then she surprised me near the end. I liked it.

It has an epilogue. Married with children.

Ryan me ha encantado, ha estado loca e irreversiblemente enamorado de Jessie desde que eran pequeños y hace lo que sea necesario para protegerla. Se esconde detrás de una fachada falsa, usando ropa excesivamente grande para poder disimular su físico.

Una lectura rápida y agradable sobre un chico obsesionado hasta la locura por su amiga, y una chica insegura que no logra avanzar y dejar su pasado atrás.

Ryan has been madly and irreversibly in love with Jessie since they were little and will do whatever it takes to protect her. Hiding behind a false facade and when he sees she is in trouble he knows the time had come for him to tell her how he feels. But once she finds out how far he’s willing to go and why will she run and dies she realise that she’s never going to be able to shake him?

This was cute read and does anyone know where I can find a Ryan I mean seriously swoon worthy. 4.5 🌟 one click read.

His Outlaw Valentine by Jessa Kane has me wondering (more so than usual) as to why Ms. Kane doesn’t write a more lengthy stories for all intents and purposes.

Ms. Kane has definitely got the talent it takes to write one, and if she were to explore the emotional tangents of the characters that she creates, and combine it with the explosive, erotic, and dirty variety of sex that is an integral part of her novellas, those books would in all probability sell like hot cakes.

His Outlaw Valentine tells the story of Jessie and Ryan, who become neighbors when Jessie was 13 years old. Jessie comes from a broken family, something that had stirred Ryan’s protective instincts and his unrequited love for her since then and had bloomed and strengthened throughout the years.

Jessie does not believe in happily ever afters; after all no one can blame her based on what she had gone through in her childhood, not to mention the way she is emotionally blackmailed by her mother even now. All of this is “monitored” closely by Ryan , for he is done being the safe haven that Jessie has relied on all through her adult life. Ryan is determined that it is time Jessie finally takes notice of him as a man, and becomes his, once and for all.

His Outlaw Valentine is a novella that had such great promise and it being of the friends and lovers trope, which is THE most favorite trope of mine in the genre, makes it all the sadder given how it eventually turned out. The story took a turn for the worse with Ryan turning super weird (I get obsessive heroes but this was on a totally different scale), and there just was an ickiness factor to certain actions of Ryan’s that had me taking a step back from. Don’t get me wrong; I am all for eroticism and dirty talk but I seriously was put off by Ryan’s actions at certain points.

What saddens me the most is the fact that this could have turned out to be a great story, if only Ms. Kane would be willing to explore her characters further, add some angst, and deliver a bit lengthier story which would allow her to probe different tangents and deliver a wonderful story in every aspect.

Recommended for those who have a penchant for weird heroes and quickies that explore the sexual tangent of relationships more so than emotional.

Final Verdict: His Outlaw Valentine had a lot of potential which somehow failed to materialize. I know in my heart that this could have been so much better!

Jessie está a punto de cometer un error muy grande pero no le queda otro remedio. Ella no confía en nadie, ella no pide ayuda, nunca. Así que si tiene un problema lo soluciona sola, incluso si sabe que Ryan, su mejor amigo y compañero de piso la ayudaría sin dudar. I guess I love obsessive, over the top, possessive and stalker-ish men because Ryan was just mmmmm. I loved him. He’s been in love with Jessie since 13 years old. They’re both 26 now, are best friends and live together. Ryan’s a detective and tries to hide his muscles with oversized clothes, wears fake glasses, and pretends to be a nerdy guy to feel “safe” for Jessie because she kind of freaks out about people. He doesn’t want to scare her off because she’d run.

She decides to do something stupid and he saves her. He takes her to his cabin and proceeds to show the real him and how he feels about her. She sort of freaks out the morning after they had sex when she finds an engagement ring and ends up running away. Later on that night she comes to the realization that she can’t be without him and proposes to him all romantic-like with flowers and candles and shit. Super cute.

The epilogue was hotttt. Nice little role play there.

3.5⭐️ and worth the read.

I couldn’t connect with either of main characters. They both seemed too simple to me. Not that they were stupid-simple, but they lacked depth.
