Fresh out of prison after serving a three-year sentence, Johnathan Marcello wants to get back to normal business as a mafia capo. The rules set out for him are clear—keep out of trouble, maintain a low profile, and stay stable. But a chance encounter with a woman from a rival mafia family puts him right back on shaky ground.
Hate. Love.

Siena Calabrese’s life revolved around cooking numbers and scrubbing books clean until Johnathan rolled through her life like a hurricane. A woman is only useful to men in the mafia, if she isn’t totally useless. If she does what they want, then she can maintain the illusion of freedom. But how much is she willing to risk, how far will she go, for the man with secrets that sets her heart on fire?
Betrayal. Loyalty.
New York’s streets won’t be the same. A war is coming.

Note: John + Siena: The Complete Duet features the full-length novels Loyalty and Disgrace, as well as the companion novella, John + Siena: Extended.
The author of too many novels to count, Bethany-Kris is a Canadian, lover of much, and mother to four sons, a glaring of cats, and a pack of dogs. A small town in Eastern Canada where she was born and raised is where she has always called home. With her boys under her feet, a snuggling cat, barking dogs, and a spouse calling over his shoulder, she is nearly always writing something ... when she can find the time.
5 ❤️ Stars The Marcello and Calabrese families do not mix. But when Johnathan Marcello and Siena Calabrese meet, nothing will ever be the same again. This love story involves secrets, lies and mortal danger besides having a mental health issue that is front and center for Johnathan Marcello.
This story is a reread for me. I absolutely adore Johnathon Marcello. His story is not an easy one. Dealing with his bipolar disorder while navigating the Costa Nostra is no easy feat. The author really delves deep into the feelings, the emotions, and the difficulties involved with having a bipolar disorder and how when it is coupled with being a Made Man in The Marcello Family, Loyalty and Disgrace are always in question.
Siena and John are a truly a passionate couple. They are at home with one another and Siena gets John and his disorder. Their love, loyalty and honor towards one another is uninhibited, sexy and patient. But they can’t really be together. Siena’s life is filled with danger in that she is a Calabrese but for John, she will do whatever is needed to secure her outcome of them being together. Their story is suspenseful and dangerous as well as fulfilling and loving.
I loved this story, I loved the epilogue and I especially loved the extended companion. It filled in some lingering questions I had once the story ended and it showed another part of the puzzle that ties the families together. I must say that being back with all the Marcellos was like going home. Every character owns a piece of me and it’s always the best feeling when I can go back and revisit🥰

Just as good on the re-read as it was the first time around I read this duet, but it was made even better with a fabulous novella to close their story. Loved it!
After reading the blurb for this book, I was absolutely fascinated. The hero was bipolar and I wanted to read something mafia and also something with mental illness. Yes, the blurb was intriguing but I could not feel anything with the writing, the characters were so cartoonish. Jonathon never pursued Siena and this was a very frustrating read for me. By the end, I am so disappointed. 2,25 stars.
5 Stars for Loyalty & Disgrace!! This duet wasn't what I expected. At all. I was pleasantly surprised by how much it hit me in the FEELS.
Their love story was EPIC.
I'm talking Romeo & Juliet, star-crossed lovers type of epic! With warring Mafia families, bodies dropping left & right, and achingly sweet stolen moments together.
John burrowed his way into my little black heart and Siena straight surprised the hell out of me!
Siena wasn't the overly sassy heroine, she was the quietly calculating type. She played her part well. And boy did she have balls. Big Cajones.
My sweet John DESERVED Siena. He deserved to find his peace and happiness.
I loved this duet. I adored this couple. I wanted for them to fight and WIN their happily ever after.
Read this duet. It's more than instalove and bullets.
I loved reading John and Siena's love story again as a complete duet. They each have their flaws but when they're together become seamless, which makes them an ideal couple. It's all about the balance and understanding. Bethany-Kris never ceases to amaze me with her writing prowess, as her words beckon me to read more.
John + Siena: The Complete Duet is an EPIC read and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
This duet. Oh this duet did it for me. It was totally not what I was expecting at all. And I mean that in a really good way. This was my first read through with this couple and I just appreciated and loved so much about them. Everything about this duet was perfect. It was way more than the mafia and the suspense of it all. It, in a way, felt like I was reading a modern Romeo and Juliet (which I love). And it also felt truly unique. Unlike any book or books by Behtany-Kris and even unlike other books in the Mafia subgenre. I really loved John and Siena. I mean I really loved them. There was nothing that I wanted more for them to be happy in the end. I have never read about a couple like this one, especially two people who deserve each other and the love they have to give. The ending, the Extended part, I thought did a great job of wrapping things up. It gave us a little bit more to hold on too after everything was over and was like the cherry on top of the ice cream. Such a great way to see this book end. Overall, this story was great. The pacing, writing, and characters were all unique and intriguing. It held my attention and kept me wanting more.
Solid ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Loved John's story, his struggles and his achievements and finding the love of his life. His journey was heartbreaking but, never less, such a loveable character.
An emotional rollercoaster full of giggles and gasps, turns and whiplashes, shocking and unfathomable scenes you won’t forget.
‘John + Siena The Complete Duet’ is, if you ask me, one of Bethany Kris’ best works. This is an incredibly compelling, gut-twisting, heart pounding and mind racing kind of book. I personally don’t enjoy third-person POVs when it comes to books, but for her books, you bet I will put my preferences aside and dive headfirst into this amazing mafia world.
This duet is complicated, mysterious, intriguing, passionate, action-packed, everything you want from a mafia book and more. You always know what feelings to expect but you are never ready when it happens, it always shocks the socks off you.
The way the writer describes things that are usually impossible to describe, things that could scare most writers off, things you sometimes don’t even know you are feeling, things such as a mental disorder in such a way that compassion, love, and understanding just start pouring out of you is incredibly unique and a real talent.
An exceptionally intriguing love story with lots of drama, crime, and of course complex feelings both characters will have to wave through.
Because this is a complete duet, it gives the reader a chance not only to fall deeply in love with the characters from end to finish without having to wait for more, but it also shows how much both characters have to grow, learn and make mistakes to get where they need to be.
Siena is an incredibly talented and smart woman, she is confident, she knows what she wants, she is determined and hard-working, a true boss babe who is stuck in a world dominated by men, men who think they have a right to tell her what to do with her life and do not care about what she feels, men who have their own agenda. She is funny and down to earth, and the thing that surprised me the most when reading this book was how real and almost normal she felt, I could relate to everything she thought and did even though it obviously is all fictional. This truly is one of the things that made this book special to me.
John is a complex man, one with an illness most people don’t believe exist, one that could put a target on his back and make him vulnerable. But despite everything, he tries, again and again, to make the best of it, to try and be better and to come to terms with being bipolar. He is caring and loving, always trying to do right by his family while also doing right by himself. John will have to go through many challenges in this duet, many obstacles that almost feel insurmountable but he will get through them.
This is a modern take into Romeo and Juliet, one with a less tragic ending and filled with criminals and mafia feuds, but a love story nonetheless.
This book is a great deal if you ask me because you will get both books in the John+Siena series in one go and trust me you will enjoy them. A heartfelt story that will pull at your heartstrings, open your eyes, give you all the feels and intrigue you, written in a wonderful way you can’t help but fall in love with it.

Thoroughly recommend this book. Not only is it very readable but it gives the reader a little understanding of some of the complexities of Bi-polar and the way it affects people who suffer with this condition. To me it was very thought-provoking. Excellent read.
El drama, la acción, las revelaciones y el conflicto mantuvieron la historia en movimiento. Me gustaron mucho los dos personajes principales y me encantó el desarrollo de su relación. John y Siena comenzaron de una manera única y el resultado fue una historia magnífica.
Revisiting a couple that I loved the first time around in the completed Duet is still as great of an experience as the first time. I love that the duet is complete and can be read in one go without waiting for the second book to arrive. John and Siena have such a connection that it still makes me envious of how they can read each other so well. This duet is more than just a mafia romantic suspense. It’s a love story between two unlikely pairs. The love between John and Siena still make my heart swoon. They complete each other wholly despite all the bad they went through it warms my heart to see them get their hea. BK always gets me in the feels!
I loved this one. I wasn't sure what to expect with this one because of John's bipolar disorder. But! I loved it. John and Siena we're perfect for one another and I loved Siena! She had a lovely quiet strength about her and didn't take anyone's crap and listened to her gut/heart and was sooo protective of John. I loved them together. I felt for John and his struggle in life with his family because of his disorder. Overall it was wonderfully written and one of my top faves.
