Really Impressive

This novel has brought scriptures alive for me in a way I could never have imagined. The Revelation of John has always been a way to induce either headaches or sleep. I always believed that John had gotten into some quality mushrooms before he started writing his revelations, but now it actually makes sense. It's legal. It's got really good imagery that follows the precedents set in the Old Testament examples of how prophets give their messages to the people of God. When the author compares the Revelation stories to those told no Old Testament prophets, they match up. It all fits. This is getting more and more cool. It has made a faith I already embrace so much more approachable, more relatable. I'm so glad I'm reading this series.

As with the first two books of this series, Godawa has here in the third book of his Chronicles of the Apocalypse combined fictional characters with actual historic figures in a way that remains faithful to the factual history and yet provides the reader with an exciting story. Resist picks up from where the reader left off at the conclusion of Remnant. Increasing threats within the Jewish community as well as the militant Rome provide a backdrop to the growing faith within the main characters. The development of their interpersonal relationships grounded the story in a very human and relatable way. But Godawa goes one step further, he gives the reader a glimpse of the spiritual battle taking place in the heavenly realms. I look forward to continuing this series.

Story would be amazing if he could write.

I have read every book in this long series so far starting with Noah. The idea for the story is excellent. But unfortunately, Godawa writes like a 14 year old with a thesaurus. It is campy, and cartoonish. In the hands of a good writer, these would be epics along the lines of Martin and Jordan and other excellent fantasy authors. Unfortunately they are half the length they should be, with neither subtly nor suspense. The character development is dreadful. I love the idea of the stories and will read the final book when it comes out. I just wish he would mature in his writing.

Real edification

Today's books open up a world not well known to most christians. His are stories, which the bible in proper context brings to brilliant life. Theology was always dusty and boring for me. This series and the chronicles of nephilim have exposed me to the wonder and supernatural truth. The truth IS truly stranger and far more fascinating than the fiction we are all mostly taught. The bible truly is the greatest story ever told, and it has been my pleasure to find this out, by reading the truly awesome facts of the matter.

I have recently discovered this author & his books. I’ve read the first 3 of the Apocalypse books. I’ve downloaded the newest - 4th - book on the day it was released. I like the style these books are written in, & that Brian Godawa has so many references available throughout the book along with an equal number of Scripture. I plan on reading anything & everything he has written.
I’ve learned much in my reading these/this book. Much has finally fallen in place in my understanding & unformed questions ive had for years.

I really love this series, and this was an exceptional addition. One of the villains, Jacob, is a bit shallow and one dimensional, but it makes it easy to hate him. The interactions he has with the protagonists, though, is extremely fulfilling and revealing. For lovers of Biblical prophecy, and the Bible in general, I highly recommend this book (and the previous two) to your reading. Not only are they exciting, but they give you the opportunity to see Biblical prophecy through new eyes.

Another fine addition to the series. The writer is certainly no Leo Tolstoy, but his narrative and characters are sufficiently nuanced and entertaining. The real enjoyment, however, is in how Godawa mingles historical details (mainly from Josephus' accounts) and supernatural theology (highly influenced by Dr. Michael Heiser) with his own on-the-ground characters. I look forward to concluding the series with the next book.

Biblical fiction

As usual fantastic work. I love this series. Finally, I can say that I understand Revelations. This would make a thrilling movie. There is so much action and adventure going on all the time. The characters are so alive and vivid and the whole world and time is explained in such detail that you are just there.

I truly love this series, Godawa,s writing is capturing. Picked the book 2 weeks ago. Ready to start the 4th. Then I intend to move to another series. It's an amazing of biblical history and a fabulous tale. 5 stars from me!

CRITICAL REMINDER: THIS IS A WORK OF FICTION!

The author cleverly weaves The book of Revelation into 1st century A.D. history. The 'Jewish wars' (Josephus) figure prominently.

Ephesians 2:2
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Psa 82:1
God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.(see Enoch 6-7)

The above verses describe a parallel battle between 'the gods of the air' and Jesus Christ.... That said, this series is extremely entertaining.

I'm really not sure what to say other than that this is a fantastic book. Anything more I could say has been said about the previous two installments in this series. It's just a really great novel series and I am glad that I took the time to read it. I am not only looking forward to Godawa's next (and probably final) addition to this series, which isn't out yet, but I'm also interested in reading his Chronicles Of The Nephilim series.

A terrific continuation of the Chronicles of the Apocalypse series! Apollyon continues his maneuvering to destroy the peop!e of God and the holy city of Jerusalem by means of the legions of Rome while the Two Witnesses, Alexander, and Cassandra attempt to save as many as possible in Jerusalem, both through medicine and the gospel. Godawa continues the fast pace that will keep you engaged and sucked into the story until the end.
