Sleeping Cutie is about male lead and protagonist, Christian Logan, and his journey to becoming the man he wants to be and the man he wants to be proud of. In his personal quest, he finds a woman to help him do that, which leads to some unexpected outcomes. I’ll first say Miss Glover never fails to develop the hell out of her characters, and I absolutely love it.
Now. Christian Logan ... yo... I couldn’t STAND his asshole, rich, misogynistic ass! The way he treated women... hell anybody, was so trash, and it was funny because the mf was actually soft af on so many different levels, but I digress. The only person he treated with any sort of dignity was his grandma, HOWEVER!! It allll changed when he met my favorite character, Miss Amber Miller! (although she pissed me tf off at the end)
Amber, a barista at a coffee shop, met Chris while she was sleeping at a local park after being accused of being homeless by the police, and the two had been inseparable as friends after they made a deal with one another ... And as a result, they had become inseparable not because of what they had in common, but because they helped expose each other in ways that no one else had ever held them accountable for emotionally and mentally, which allowed them to be vulnerable to one another.
Amber never ceased to check tf out of Chris when he was out of pocket as his “life coach” and Chris broke many barriers Amber erected due to her past, her health, and some of her own insecurities. Amber exposed so many inner, deeper, unresolved identity issues in Christian had, and by the end of the book, I was like OKKAAYYY Chris might become a wholesome nigga after all 😂
I was also happy to read more about the Logan brothers and their dynamic as well, a subplot of this story I had been wanting to learn more about from the first book, so that was also a W! Chris felt inferior to his brothers often, which also complicated/justified his behavior towards other people in his life.
This great novel is one about growth, companionship, and breaking down barriers that cause trust issues. Job well done I enjoyed reading this! Another hit! 💖
