“A prince who is anything but charming.”

Christian Logan’s goals in life are simple: make as much money as possible and be the antithesis to everything his goody two shoes older brother Cameron stands for. He’s insistent on not opening doors, indignant at the thought of picking up a check, and adamant about his chivalry ending at saying “bless you” after a sneeze. But when he comes across an unusually tired damsel in distress sleeping on a bench in Central Park, he can’t help but to temporarily act out of character and come to her rescue. Now he wonders if the whirlwind of events that followed meeting the snarky and narcoleptic Amber Miller mean that he should reconsider the way he’s been living and in doing so he begins to realize that he has much more in common with Cam than he ever realized.

The Faded Fairytales Series follows Logan brothers Cameron, Christian, and Chasen on their individual quests to conquer love, sex, and maturation while also grieving and attempting to rebuild their fractured brotherhood.

I think this was the funniest book of the series....Christian was a mess, but his "fat jokes" about his sister-in-law really were funny as hell to me....Although, he was really angry with his brother, it was easy to crack on his brother's wife. I also love when Chris & Amber finally met, the banter & jabs back and forth between the two was epic....I found myself laughing a lot during this story. I also loved the developing relationship between the two of them....This is my favorite story of the three....The way these stories are woven together and ends, I'm hoping that means the author will provide us with additional stories or at least updates on these couples. The narration was decent.

Sleeping Cutie was amazing! Amber and Christian have officially become my favorite couple in this series. Sorry Tillar and Cameron. They truly were a couple to root for because, their relationship didn’t start out in a traditional manner. Amber and Chris are two lost souls and both are battling some inner demons. Chris is a workaholic who blames himself for his mother’s death because she died giving birth to him. He also has some unfounded jealousy against Cam that makes absolutely no sense. Amber is working two low paying jobs while battling narcolepsy. Both are loners and neither one of them have any friends. After getting Amber fired from one of her jobs, Chris pays her to teach him how to be less of a misogynistic azzhole so he can meet his future wife. Little does he know, he's already met her. I loved the development of Amber and Chris’ relationship because, theirs wasn’t a typical love story. Watching them fall in love was a joy because, it was so genuine and organic. Sleeping Cutie was full of comedy and life lessons. Make sure you grab your wine and tissues because, that last chapter was full of nothing but drama and tears. Tanzania Glover really outdid herself with this book.

This book was super dope. Christian was an asshole I grew to love and Amber Chanel was a homegirl you would want to be friends with. With this being the sequel to Thickerella, Tanzania did it again with this book being full of comedy and Life lessons. in the beginning of the book I really couldn't see my self liking Christian at all, but in the end I was pleased with him. I loved Amber's character and how she always stood her ground. In the end the book is definitely worth the read and I am patiently waiting on part three.

Round of Applause! Listen this author is amazing because I absolutely hated Chris. Detested and loathed him if I’m being real. I am solidly still #TeamCam. However I couldn’t stop cheesing by the end of this book because it was so amazing. Bad a** Amber Chanel was everything and her disability made me love her even more. The growth they both exhibited made this story so enjoyable. Now let’s see what Chase is talking about. Highly recommend this one!

My favorite one so far!!!

I have read and loved all of the books published by this author. But this one, I am Speechless!!! Amber is my all-time favorite heroine (For some reason I'm extremely critical of the female leads). And the transformation from Chris!! I can't even formulate words right now. Bravo!! Bravo!! Bravo!! Wish I could give 10 ⭐

I'm loving this twist on fairy tales! Sleeping beauty was definitely a force to be reckoned with when it came to Chris. You never know what you may find when you're not looking.

Great story

If you looked up toxic masculinity in the dictionary you would definitely see Chris’ picture!! Whew chile, the things that came out of his mouth was unbelievable. He definitely deserved that 2 piece that Csm gave him. He definitely met his match in Amber and I’m glad she whipped him into shape. I adored the take on sleeping beauty.

Let me start by saying I have NEVER wanted to punch a fictional character in the face so much in all of my reading life! Chris Logan made me stop and take a deep breath every other word because of the horrible trash that came out of his mouth! Ms.Tanzania is very good at writing her characters.
Now the is the second book in the “ Faded Fairytales” series, and we only have one more book to go 😫. In this book we are following the youngest of the Logan brothers Christian “Chris” on his journey to not being literal hot garbage. While out for a run he sees a women sleeping on a bench in Central Park who’s about to be harassed by a cop, so he intervenes. Now before you start to think maybe he’s not so bad just go ahead and stop, because he is indeed the absolute worst.
A series of events leads to Chris realizing that he needs to work on the way he treats women if he ever wants to get married and have a family. Not find real love and be happy, just married. Trash. Enter Ms. Amber Miller fake girlfriend, feminist, friend for hire, and lover of books. They team up to try and fix what’s wrong with Chris and his way of thinking and behaving . I don’t want to give away too much or make this longer, but I inhaled this book in three days because that’s how good it was. Read it and it see that not every happily ever after are the same.

I had to read the next installment of this series after reading the first book I had to know more about these Logan brothers and boy the youngest brother really had me going. Chris and Amber what a pair I never expected how they would turn out and I never expected that I would like this book as much as I did. I will admit that I did not want to like this guy he was like so many guys I knew and he was driving me crazy the whole book. I have to admit though I get it he had to go through the wringer to realize what he had and man Amber was the perfect woman for him. I loved this read just as much as the first, another win Ms. Glover nice work.

Friend your preface meant nothing because I still went in ready to compare it to Thickerella but I was happy to see you experimented and went in a different direction and it paid off. Chris earned that two piece just like TJ but I am glad to see you wrapped it up nice and gave Amber some much needed peace. Now hurry up with my cosplay girl in Trapunzel.

Could Chris have been anymore of a jerk?...

I absolutely loved this story. Amber and Chris' verbal skirmishes were enlightening and hilarious. I still didn't like Chris towards the end, but I respect the work he invested in his evolution.

Christan Logan was a complete jerk! I hated this man with a passion. He was a true incel and so disrespectful! He had some deep rooted issues with being the last Logan as well as being his mother's last gift to her surviving family. The average person would sympathize with Chris just for that but he made you hate him...especially when he opened his mouth. Filth, rude, & insensitive remarks rolled off of his tongue and smacked the intended target with so much disregard of their feelings. Christian was a fat shamer and his unkind comments about Tillar had me ready to give him a two piece with a side just like Cameron! I did like how honest Christian was about his rivalry/jealousy with his older brother Cameron. Some siblings just don't get along and it be over very petty reasons. Which made this novel even more relatable. Chris' disdain for women wasn't shocking but his brutal honesty made me want to know who really hurt him. Aside from Chris being a super villain this book did an excellent job educating the reader about misogyny, being the token black in a predominately white work environment, racism, the toxic and racist banker-lifestyle, high functioning addicts, workaholic syndrome and loneliness from Chris' point of view. A sprinkle of police brutality was also presented when Chris and Amber met for the first time. I hoped that Chris would turn around and show some form of chivalry after he helped Amber get out of a possibly deadly situation but when she bruised his ego by turning down his rude advances he made it possible to dislike him even more. I don't think I've ever hated the main character of a novel at all! In contrast, Amber was a breath of fresh air. Her disability and circumstances didn't halt her life. She persevered when the world didn't understand the serious challenges she faced on a daily basis. She was the hood girl hero that we all want to see more of in books. I liked how she called Chris out on his disrespectful ways unapologetically. I loved how this book made the story of Sleeping Beauty so much more than the fairy tale of a girl that couldn't stay awake. Narcolepsy and cataplexy were presented in a sensitive manner that had me Googling more about each condition while I enjoyed this novel. I also liked that Project Sleep, the high cost of medication and information about sleep disorders were weaved into the story in a way to raise awareness about the battle some people face. I'm so used to people making insensitive jokes about narcoleptics that I didn't realize how difficult it may be for a woman living with narcolepsy to go through life and be put in vulnerable, traumatic, and dangerous situations or even be victims of sexual assault. Chris & Amber's banter was brutal and witty but it worked for them. I liked how their friendship developed through a weird roommate teacher-like situation that had me cracking up at their antics and roasting sessions. In addition, Amber's patience and love for Chris was very evident in the tasks they did together during their month of torture and fun. The topics covered in this book were too many to name but a few are...feminism, double standards, disability discrimination, patriarchy, sexism, size-ism, sibling-rivalry, sibling inferiority complex, resentment of happy couples, toxic work situations, change, therapy, family, pregnancy, and parenting. Chris's transformation from being a manipulative arrogant individual to a respectful, trustworthy and loving father was so shocking. I still cannot believe he managed to change but I'm glad he was held accountable for his toxic masculinity. I took away from this book the message of having communication and holding men accountable for their actions and to change themselves. I liked the touching moments that Chris and Amber shared as the bond between them grew stronger. This book did a great job giving more insight in the dysfunctional Logan brotherhood and set a foundation for book three with Chase and Nicole. I loved the subtle nods to 90s R&B solo and group heartthrobs via their pet names. All around this much anticipated novel was worth the wait and so much fun to read. I loved it!

*I liked the intentions written in the preface by Tanzania Glover and her playlist on Spotify for this book introduced me to some amazing music artists!

Bree Taylor's cover art never disappoints!

I enjoyed this one however, I honestly hated the male main character. How he acted at the beginning had me considering DNFing this book, but I decided to stick it out. I'm glad I did because after interacting with the author, who provided insight on the story's purpose, I realized how important it was—highlighting the reality of misogynistic men and how they feel about women and treat them. Additionally, also illustrating what can happen when one changes that mindset, takes accountability, and works to become better. I gave this four stars because although I was happy that Christian worked towards changing, I was not too fond of the fact that the black woman had to be the savior/fixer/healer. At one point in the story, he says, "I needed her to be here to fix me." Why does the black woman always have to take on the job to "fix" the man? Additionally, I also think this story needed a trigger warning because some of the fat jokes made by the main male character were triggering for me as a fat, black woman. Still, a good read with an important message.

Sleeping Cutie is about male lead and protagonist, Christian Logan, and his journey to becoming the man he wants to be and the man he wants to be proud of. In his personal quest, he finds a woman to help him do that, which leads to some unexpected outcomes. I’ll first say Miss Glover never fails to develop the hell out of her characters, and I absolutely love it.

Now. Christian Logan ... yo... I couldn’t STAND his asshole, rich, misogynistic ass! The way he treated women... hell anybody, was so trash, and it was funny because the mf was actually soft af on so many different levels, but I digress. The only person he treated with any sort of dignity was his grandma, HOWEVER!! It allll changed when he met my favorite character, Miss Amber Miller! (although she pissed me tf off at the end)

Amber, a barista at a coffee shop, met Chris while she was sleeping at a local park after being accused of being homeless by the police, and the two had been inseparable as friends after they made a deal with one another ... And as a result, they had become inseparable not because of what they had in common, but because they helped expose each other in ways that no one else had ever held them accountable for emotionally and mentally, which allowed them to be vulnerable to one another.

Amber never ceased to check tf out of Chris when he was out of pocket as his “life coach” and Chris broke many barriers Amber erected due to her past, her health, and some of her own insecurities. Amber exposed so many inner, deeper, unresolved identity issues in Christian had, and by the end of the book, I was like OKKAAYYY Chris might become a wholesome nigga after all 😂

I was also happy to read more about the Logan brothers and their dynamic as well, a subplot of this story I had been wanting to learn more about from the first book, so that was also a W! Chris felt inferior to his brothers often, which also complicated/justified his behavior towards other people in his life.

This great novel is one about growth, companionship, and breaking down barriers that cause trust issues. Job well done I enjoyed reading this! Another hit! 💖

Who was really sleeping

I enjoyed this read as well. So far 2 for 2 in this fairytale series.

This was a great spin on sleeping beauty. But
I’d like to think of it as the awakening of Prince Charming.
Chris was a trip. A real grade A a**hole. He was a so messed up in the way he viewed and interacted with women - a true pig. Not to mention he had issues with jealousy of his own brother and thought he was a simp.

While jogging one day he saves one of the baristas, from his bldgs coffee shop, from an officer while she is napping in the park. He expects thanks, gratitude, praise and her falling at his feet for his actions. Instead, she just walks away and pays him dust. He’s so taken back that he sets out for revenge. But what he actually gets is schooled on his life, his view of people and love.
He was truly sleeping and it took a sleeping beauty to wake him up.
On to book 3!

STORY:
So I have been reading romance novels a longggggg time, and it’s rare when a character lets me stop reading a book. First, I like the author’s spin urban style with the fairy tales. I read book one and found it likable. We meet Chris in book two, Cam’s brother who was in book one and we saw in book two a bit.

My issues, like the first book, Chris carried the story a lot in the beginning as we were getting his backstory, how he grew up, his present and what he wants for the future. I was listening to the audio version and two hours in I was over it. I think because he did most of the narration before we're truly starting picking up a sense of him and Amber, because of this, he turns me off because of his words. They were like nails on a chalk board. Chris kept iterating to himself that his brother Cam like big fat b$&@, and he kept saying fat b*%>£ and his attitude toward women was like projectile vomiting. I think it was his cockiness mix with the comments that did it for me.

Now, I have read dark romance where women are not treated the best but using Chris to narrate most of the story did not make me interested, so I did not finish. Yes, Amber had a scene or 2 with him in the beginning, but it was not picking up for me.

CHEMISTRY:
Could not finish so I can’t speak on this.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
It was nice seeing Cam and Tillar

OVERALL, Chris blocked me from enjoying this. I am sure he would have redeemed himself eventually, but I couldn’t wait to get there. The fat b%€* thing just kept getting on my nerves and it took way too long to start getting into.

✰✰TRIGGERS: mention of drugs

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Sleeping Cutie is kissed by the frog

Sleeping Cutie by Tanzania Glover is about financial analyst Christian Logan and barista/ PetWorld employee Amber Miller. Christian is very different than his big brother Cameron. The first time he mentioned Tillar I was looking at him sideways. Christian’s only area of success is work, he doesn’t have a strong relationship with his brothers, he has no friends and he hates women. Christian’s obsession with work and lack of female companionship is starting to take a toll on his work & health. He conjures up an idea to get a pretend girlfriend to look more responsible at work. This where Amber comes in, Christian and Amber do not get along because she rejects him and calls him an incel. Amber does not sugar coat Christian’s behaviour, she is his pretend girlfriend that is going to make him a halfway decent human being, at a cost of course. Amber has been through a lot, she’s on her own in the world and she has a chronic disorder. I really enjoyed this book, Amber and Christian have crazy banter and the friendship they build is beautiful. The lessons/dates they go on are sweet and I can’t forget Christian’s fur baby 🐶 Keith Sweat. I’m exited to read about the other Logan brother because I honestly want to know what is wrong with him!

Let me just start by saying Christian Logan SUCKS. I was so irritated by the way he spoke about people; the nasty and unnecessary comments he would make about Tillar's body, the comments he made about Amber's finances and calling her a hoodrat, and the way he spoke about women- it was GROSS. I wanted to reach into the book and choke him and it brought me so much joy every time Amber tore into him.
Amber was exactly what I was looking for in a female main character; smart, funny and lit into Christian's rude ass every time he crossed the line. I love when men get humbled and I got so much serotonin every time she read him for filth. I'm not a huge fan of the rich one/poor one relationship trope, but it was nice to see Christian's growth and I'm happy that Amber was paid so well for educating him. In the end Christian and Amber were a great couple and I really liked their little happily ever after.
I've been looking for a romance novel that was told from the mmc's point of view and was really excited when I came across the Faded Fairytales Series and then was a little let down when I saw that Thickerella was told all from Tillar's point of view. So Sleeping Cutie was exactly what I needed. Tanzania Glover is easily becoming one of my favorite romance authors and I'm really excited for Trap Rapunzel.

"Sleeping Cutie" is the second installment of the "Faded Fairytales" trilogy by Tanzania Glover. Although it is the second installment, it follows two completely new characters. This time Christian, Cam's brother, takes center stage.

This was such a cute story. I loved how Tanzania Glover is putting her own spin on classic fairy tales. Thickerella was very refreshing and this time is no different. Christian, Christian, Christian. He was definitely a character I loved to hate. He had some deep-rooted issues that influenced the way he thought about women, his brothers, and life in general. I'm not saying I ended up loving him, but he did have a few redeeming qualities, lol. Amber was a force to be reckoned with and I really liked how she handled Chris.

The pacing of this book was perfect. I finished it in a day.  I enjoyed the little updates on Cam and Tillar. I also love how these books deal with real life issues. I can't wait for the third installment.

Author Tanzania Glover has done it again. She's managed to take a classic fairytale and perfectly weave it into the middle of a realistic, modern-day story of Black romance, heartbreak, and forgiveness. In the main character, Christian, she managed to write a man I hated. She presented him with a few redeemable qualities so it wasn't as hard to fall in love with him as I thought it would be. The modern version of "Sleeping Beauty" has her own unique personality and qualities, and Tanzania breathed life into a character who has historically been boring and mute.

I fell in love with this series with the first book, Thickerella, and the love has now grown with Sleeping Cutie. I am on pins and needles waiting for what the next one will bring!

I recommend this book to everyone looking for a happily ever after. As with her other books, I was not disappointed! I laughed, I cried, I became angry and happy all over again. A great book has you feeling the emotions that the characters are feeling and draws you in....this story does exactly that! I'm not going to give examples from the book, I want you to read it and experience what I did!! Great job nd I can't wIt for the next story!!!

I loved everything about this book from the beginning to the end. It had everything I was looking for. Drama, family drama, relationship issues, personal issues. I thought Tiller and Cams story was my favorite. Amber and Christians story is my favorite now. The way everything unfolded was so unexpected. I was thinking it was going to be one way and turn the page only to find out that its another way. Omg I loved this book... More importantly I loved the unexpected ending.

This was frustrating to read because while Chris represented everything I hate about some men I still appreciated seeing that bad side of him first and then seeing his personal growth which coincided with his growing love for Amber. I'm happy she got her happy ending and I'm looking forward to the final book.

Sleeping 😴 cutie

I am enjoying the faded fairytales series. I love that we got to see more of Tiller and Cam’s story. The dynamic between the Logan brothers is interesting. Chris absolutely annoyed me for 99% of the book. Amber was feisty and just an all around dope character. I love how the theme fit into this one!

Okay I know Tillar's story was awesome but this one hit different. This had imperfections written all over it and I love it when the protagonists evolve and this one got me into tears. Cam was too good and I felt in this one he is portrayed as too good to be true and it was a little putting off and Chris on the other hand was the men I meet in real life and went on quite a journey in this short book. I can't wait for the third one to come. So excited!
