My first read by this author. It is OK read. It does not leave me with heart warming impression. I think this book will be better if the BDSM part is deleted. Instead putting more dark twist on the Bratva aspect.

I like the romance of older hero and younger heroine. Tara is such vulnerable heroine. She has a bit of little girl kinky inside of her. She been in love with Stephan forever. Stephan is a enigmatic character. I like him too. I wish his character can be more twisted and more complex.

There is that insta love/ insta lust. The sex is moderate steamy.

Overall this story can be develop better. I do enjoy it OK

Having never read a Daddy Dom book before, I wasn't sure of what to expect. Never fear! Jane Henry has knocked this out of the park! Stefan and Taara make a perfect couple, she's feisty, determined, and knows WHO she wants. He is older, experienced, lethal and dominant. Together they figure out how to make this "their" relationship. This book has intrigue, action, and hot, steamy sex! A must read!

I knew that I shouldn't have read this one... but it was the last book in the series and I thought that I may like it, since I liked the previous one. The first clue was the cover... The second one: Daddy Kink, sometimes I can tolerate it but combined with the huge age-gap, it didn't work at all for me. I could describe it as "Grand-daddy" Kink. The story was kinda boring, with a lot of drama and a super fast ending that felt rushed.

A true king's ransom!

Oh boy! Poor Taara saw too, too much and had to prove her loyalty to Pakhan Stefan and his crew ten folds! Thank goodness she listened to Caroline, Tomas's clever wife...

This was a 5 star mafia suspense romance for me and I will be reading the other two books in this Ruthless Dom series!

"If you win his heart, he will devote himself to you…"-Caroline

"Betray them and earn a lifelong enemy. Earn their trust, and you become one of their own." -Taara

Taara and Stefan have known each other for years but Taara has been secreting admiring and coveting him for most of that time. She doesn't dare act on her feelings because he is Pakhan of the Bratva.
I loved this story just as much as the other Ruthless Dom stories in this series.
Jane Henry writes exciting and passionate tales with strong Alpha men and very strong women who become the property of these men.

IF YOU WIN HIS HEART, HE WILL DEVOTE HIMSELF TO YOU

Once again, Ms. Jane Henry has spun a tale that had me captivated and intrigued as the story unfolds. Not everything is as simple as it seems, and the twists and turns along the way will keep you on the edge of your seat. While the story will read well as a stand-alone, it is a great addition to the other Bratva books in the Ruthless Doms series. Pakhan Stefan is a man of great respect in the brotherhood, both in America and Russia. But what happens when his housekeeper is found somewhere she shouldn’t have been—witnessing something she should have never seen? Now, he must make the harsh choice of what happens to her—live or die? But for now, she is his prisoner.

“My relationship with Taara—that of boss and paid staff—has forever changed. I’m not sure if I believe her. I’m not sure what will happen next. But until I do, she’ll remain my prisoner.”

The plot will begin with Taara outside in the early morning, taking pictures of flowers, but witnessing an execution and being caught in the act. That is grounds for her to be executed to protect the brotherhood—but Stefan is willing to try and learn more about Taara? Can he convince the others that she is his prisoner and he will make the final decision?

“I want to weep for the loss of the man I loved because this man is one that I’ll never love again.” –Taara

For years, Taara’s mother was the housekeeper for Stefan, but Hesther has dementia and is now in a nursing home and under the care of the Bratva, and Taara has taken over her mother’s position. She watches Stefan from afar, with love and admiration—but he doesn’t even notice her—or so she thinks. But now she has his attention, and it isn’t in a good way. Will some of the other Bratva women offer her sound advice?

“The women of the Bratva stand together. Always. But we do so in a way that strengthens all of us—out entire extended family. We do not seek to change who they are, what they stand for, or what they do. But we can join in solidarity together as one, for those times when we need to withstand the tempest, as it were.”

Questionable and worrisome things are going down in the America Bratva, and it has the others very concerned. Stefan will take Taara aboard a luxury ship, and she will pose as his slave—but the stakes are high, the danger is real—and this is no game.

“I don’t know what will happen to us next. But I do know that if I’m honest? I’m not devastated about being Taara’s master and having her by my side as my slave. The knowledge that I’m going to enjoy this may be the very thing I fear the most in any of this.”

I loved the chemistry between Stefan and Taara, and it turns when he calls her baby girl and she calls him Daddy---is this what each of them needs? Can they make this work?

“Shh, baby,” he says. “Let’s not question this. Let’s not wonder what’s happening or what will happen next. Let’s enjoy this little bit of peace, hmm?”

The story will take on life and death danger, have many intense scenes, but it also has a beautiful relationship developing between Stefan and Taara. She may be the key to solving the mystery—but how can he let her place herself in danger—knowing the stakes are high. What happens after their time in Moscow—and when they return to the states, and she learns her mother’s life hangs in the balance? Has this all be just a game—has she been a pawn for the Bratva and Stefan?

“Before Moscow, I was his captive. His prisoner. Before that, his housekeeper. What am I know?”

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Bratva life. The loyalty of the brotherhood, but also those who are traitors. It is a life of danger, and for Stefan, it is always one with uncertainty. What will come of him and Taara? Is there a future for them?

“As the season of life come and go, an ever-changing landscape, new life comes in the spring. And with it, a new beginning.”

WTF H is still hungup on his ex and always keep referring to her as MY Amelia or whatever her name is. I am writing this after finishing 80% of the novel. So I believe she is the second Best. H wanted to protect her it didn’t show his love just his protective nature. He’s head of Bartava after all. Even after he said I love you I kept thinking what about your first love the one who got away then died huh? I just wished he told her once that “ I loved Nikolia’s mother once and in a way will alway love her but she is my in my past now. I love you and YOU are my present and my future “ or something like that I’d have give in 4* stars

BTW
H is not a dom. What they did was just some minor kink like spanking and wrist holding during sex ( if you can count it as kink) . So like I said HE IS NOT A DOM . Kindly refer to Fifty Shades of Gray, The Professional The gamemaker series.

WTF ! How can she suggest sharing without blinking an eye or with no second thoughts.

This bratva is all about family but there is nothing mentioned about Nick’s reaction when his father married a woman younger than him. He didn’t even mention his intentions to his son. Some family it is. Great family loyalties NOT.

Snooze

I tried to like it, I really did.
Spoiler**
If your gonna write about a bad ass silver fox hooking up with someone younger for the love of god PLEASE don't make him boring and repetitive in bed.. theres 4 "sex" scenes in the book, 3 of them are him "pinning her hands to the bed " missionary style while "pounding" into her.... copy and paste style... The rest of the book was written like a teenager trying her hand at a "gangster " love story... It was free with my unlimited pass so I figured I'd give it a try, I won't be looking up the author again..

We finally get Stefan's story and what a story it is. This is a story with mystery, intrigue, secret love, sexual tension, and some really great daddy dom stuff. These two characters are beautifully written and you will be invested in their story till the very end.

I am sad to see this series end.

I was counting the days for the release of this book. No one does daddy like Jane Henry and I was not disappointed. There may be some hard limits for a few . I honestly love it. I was happy to read the taboo love story, Stefan and Tara make a perfect couple. She is young, fiery, determined, and knows who she wants. They walk through hell and back, This book has it all. A must read

Though I much prefer this author's earlier works, which were consensual and not harsh ("dark"), I understand her appeal. She is mistress of the romance genre's most common trope: the "bad boy" who softens for, becomes laser-focused on, über-protective of, and would do anything for that one special woman. She is also mistress of this genre's second most common trope: the "good girl" who has more than a touch of Cinderella about her. Rarely are Ms. Henry's heroines professional, autonomous women (some exceptions exist in her "Boston Doms" and "NYC Doms" series, but even there, not really). While they all have inner strength and are not, thank god, brats (that's one common generic trope I'd like to see go away), they are always fragile (at least on the outside) and often some power differential exists between the H and h that has nothing to do with D/s. Sometimes the h's are poorer (The Bratva's Baby); Caroline in Beyond Measure had a facial scar that affected her self-confidence; and, in this book, Taara is considerably younger than Stefan.

I say all this because if these are the tropes you like, they are very apparent here. In addition, unlike Ms. Henry's last few books, this one is adequately proofed (though continuity errors still exist -- one moment Taara is clothed, the next Stefan has seen her naked); contains fewer plotholes; and features much more interesting, less repetitive writing:
"There are rhythms and cadences, what others might call ups and downs, in Bratva life. It’s not so much highs and lows, but silences. Any musician will tell you that the quiet places in a composition often have the greatest impact."
I also liked Taara, whose ethnicity added some diversity to what is still a too non-diverse genre, and who shows a lot of strength and courage, particularly when she ?

My problem with these Bratva books, though, is the exhausting amount of cognitive dissonance I need to engage in to get through them. A few cases in point: Taara and Stefan team up to take down a human-trafficking ring. Now given that this series has featured at least two H's who did their share of selling women, you can look upon this plot twist (depending upon how charitably you feel) as ironic, hypocritical, ludicrous, or redemptive. In addition, Stefan -- as a true caring "daddy" should -- worries constantly about Taara and says he doesn't want to place her in danger. Yet, he does, also constantly: she is only ever in danger because of his actions, beginning with his caning her because he believes she can't be trusted (and though the author tried her hardest, I never believed that any of the Bratva could view her as a serious threat) and continuing on to his decision to make Taara "prove" her loyalty by literally throwing her into the lion's den. Finally, we're supposed to somehow reconcile the Bratva male code of honor with their eager willingness to execute in cold blood and on very flimsy evidence a young woman barely out of college and who they've known her entire life for "betrayal" (again, the author tries hard to make this believable; it wasn't. And it becomes especially ludicrous when Taara greets the men who flat-out offered to kill her ).

I'll also add that though Stefan is one of the few H's in these books who apologizes, Taara forgives him far too easily for , but these are less important than my problems above.

3 stars. YMMV.

Taara witnesses something she should never have seen. Now, she must pay the price for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Stefan, the Pakhan, leader of his Bratva family must take Taara in hand or have her eliminated. Being the young daughter of his former housekeeper, the age difference should make a difference, but the passion they have for each other is hard to deny. Taara will call him daddy as they both work to prove Taara's loyalty to the Bratva family as she risks her life to make things right. I enjoyed the connection this May- December love match has, as Taara and Stefan go through many tests and trials to prove that Taara is really loyal and innocent. I am sad to hear that this is the last of the Ruthless Doms series but am sure that Jane Henry will give us more exciting and sexy adventures in the future.

Not for me. He's 52 she is 22. Love is love, but I personally prefer not to read this type of story. Can't really comment as to quality as I only read the first chapter or two and could not read more.

I did not star rate as I cannot be fair but wanted to leave a note for other readers just to make aware of the premise.

I enjoyed this younger woman/older man romance. This is a exciting and tension filled read. There is plenty of drama, danger, emotional turmoil, action, violence, suspense and sizzling heat as Stefan and Taara's story unfolds. This is a very good read with lots of steamy BDSM elements. I am posting an independent, impartial review.

I blame the movie Eastern Promises for even reading this lmao

Yooo this book lmaooo (let’s just it’s gonna be a long ass time till I can hear the word daddy) wild af. I’ve never read a romance book with a older man so that was new I didn’t hate it tbh hahah.
Stefan appeared in previous book he’s Nicolai’s dad. And I like him so I was interested in reading his story. This shit is *dark dark* but oddly the characters were so well developed and sadly reflects the reality of some. I lovedddd Tamara.

My sixth book by the author and she doesn't seize to amaze me. I love her style. This time, I loved that she had a lil Dd/lg in there, too. It's very much appreciated, thank you very much. The journey that these characters went on was exciting and dangerous. It was lovely to see how Stefan started to fall for his girl. I felt all the feels! Now the only question is, what do I read next by her?

Great Story with all the Feels!

This is the third stand-alone in Jane Henry's Ruthless Doms series. (Haven't read the first but loved the second, "Beyond Measure"). This one is just as good, maybe better! More emotional parts that will bring a tear to your eye with all the danger and hotness you expect from Jane Henry.

This story takes place in the same world as the other books in the Ruthless Doms series and. It is an age gap Bratva romance. A young Afghani (Taara) has been the older Atlanta Pakhan's (Stefan's) housekeeper for numerous years having taken over from her mother who has Alzheimer's and has been in a nursing home. Taara has always had a crush on Stefan, admired him, and has seen to his every need. She silently watches him from a distance but thinks she's invisible to him.

When she accidentally witnesses something she shouldn't have that could put his son in jail or worse, she's accused of spying on them. Addtionally Stefan and his allies have dicovered that some unknowns from a Russian Bratva are trying to take over the American Bratvas. They know this Bratva is dealing in human traffcking; specifically they are taking Afghani refugees from Russia and selling them in America. In order to discover who is behind the takeover attempt, Stefan must infiltrate the trafficking ring. Of course, Taara, in order to prove her innocence and loyalty must help them discover who is infiltrating by accompanying Stefan as his Slave.

This puts them into some close, intimate situations as well as dangerous ones. As they travel from Atlanta to Boston then Russia, they learn and discover much about each other. He soon believes in her innocence, but although he is attracted, he fights it, not only because of the age difference but because he doesn't want to bring her into his dangerous life. But love does eventually win after some troubles and danger.

Keep in mind that this is also a bit of an age play romance. After watching some of the interactions with other Masters/slaves, Doms/subs, Taara discovers that she is more comfortable calling him Daddy rather than master or sir when they are role playing undercover. Stefan decides he likes this as he often calls her baby or little girl. There's not too much of this; however, it does extend outside their role playing when undercover, particularly when she is anxious, scared, worried, etc. Overall, a really good read with all the feels and realistic emotions and reactions 5 stars.

ORIGINAL, INCREDIBLE, and the most PERFECT LOVE STORY!
KING’S RANSOM, author Jane Henry’s newest Bratva (Ruthless Doms) novel is absolutely PHENOMENAL! It’s so compelling, I read it in one marathon day, often letting real-life responsibilities go as I was lost in the story. I get lost in a Jane Henry novel because I love the way Jane Henry writes! It’s like she gets me; addressing questions that just popped into my head, by describing a setting when my mind’s eye is unsure, or clarifying an emotion in the most picturesque way. Then, author Henry offers the most extraordinarily worthy characters, like Stefan and Taara in KING’S RANSOM, who are so fascinating and well-developed, this reader hated to see the novel end. I felt bereft having to say good-bye to my book-friends. So, while the worthy characters and their developing relationship draw me in, the page-turning action of a Jane Henry romance keeps me focused and turning pages as quickly as I can. Add to this the aura of suspense and always the action of the characters who find themselves in a situation fraught with danger, and it becomes easier to understand why KING’S RANSOM has earned five out of five STARS. I really wish I could award more review STARS, as this romance tells the most PERFECT love story! Because KING’S RANSOM is a BRATVA romance readers will find GRITTY language and STEAMY, explicit scenes typical of a BRATVA/Mafia romance. So only readers 18 or over need to apply! I voluntarily read a copy of KING’S RANSOM and this is my voluntary and HONEST 5+STAR review. Because in Taara’s own words: “Real love takes the ashes and transforms the tragic into something beautiful.” Get your copy of KING’S RANSOM today! Happy pages! 😉

At the end of Beyond Measure, I was really hoping Ms. Henry would write a story for Stefan. He has intrigued me from the first time I read about him. Now we have his story and it's way more than I ever hoped for. Stefan is Pakhan of the Bratva in his area and is very well respected. Taara is the housekeeper who grew up around the Bratva since her mother used to be the housekeeper. Taara has long had feelings for Stefan but doesn't reveal them to anyone but one night she stumbles upon something she had no business seeing and now Stefan must decide her fate. As the relationship between them develops, they will be tested and Taara is determined to prove her loyalty to Stefan and the Bratva, but at what price? Stefan had realized he has deep feelings for her but the plans must be followed through to discover who is trying to take them down. Who will it be? And will Stefan be able to save the woman who has become the most important thing in his life? I loved that we got to see characters from the previous stories and really was impressed at how the woman all came to Taara's defense and helped her sort out her feelings. I cried, got ticked off, got worried, cheered and even laughed at parts. This was just a wonderful book, beautifully written and I think will become a favorite of mine. Just an all around excellent story.

Phenomenal!!!

WOW - I never thought I would love a 'Daddy' story - I was so wrong as this book was amazing. I was utterly captivated right from the start. Everything about this story was entertaining and thrilling to read. Not only does this story have intense suspense, intrigue and lots of action, but it has lots of highly erotic interactions between Stefan and Taara. Very panty-melting and kindle combusting!

Stefan is the ultimate alpha male, leader of his Bratva family, rules with an iron fist and demands trust and loyalty. Then you have Taara - she's innocent and sweet with a huge crush on Stefan, but she has a way of getting herself into trouble! Stefan will do anything to keep her out of danger and show her the love she needs. Their chemistry is completely off the charts!

This amazing author knows just how to titillate and capture us with her words and storytelling. This was another fantastic roller coaster ride of emotions and passion! I can't wait to see what she writes next.

When Stefan's character was first introduced in Priceless, I was hoping that he would get a story and boy did he get one! Stefan is quite the silver fox and as we suspected a Dom to boot. Taara is his housekeeper and quite a bit younger (I am assuming that she is younger than his son Nicholas). Her mother was his housekeeper first but since she has taken ill, Taara took over. She has had a crush on Stefan since she was a teenager but never thought that he would return her affections. When Taara sees something that she shouldn't, she gets drawn into Bratva business to prove her loyalty. Stefan wants to protect her but he also wants to set a good example of leadership for his men and has Taara join him on his search for a group of rogue group of Bratva human traffickers. If you haven't read the other books in the series, King's Ransom stands alone but I recommend reading them as well. This story is told from dual POV and is heavy on heat, action and dominance!

This book had me right from the start! It is a spectacular book! I love Stefan and Taara ! You have an alpha male, leader of his family, rules with an iron fist and demands total loyalty. You have a young woman who is smart, little sassy, loyal to a fault and wants love. Their chemistry is blistering hot. The danger, secrets, betrayal and action kept me on the edge of my seat. I knew what I thought was going to happen but then had to keep reading to see if I was right...lol. Who needs sleep? I did without till I had read the last word. A must have book. Ms. Henry certainly knows how to make her stories come to life as you read. They play like a movie in your head ! The details are exquisite. Job well done. I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance copy of the book from the author. I can not wait for more from her.
