You Can Go Home

Rate this book
Laura never thought she'd be back home for more than a short visit. She swore she'd never return when she left the place in her rear-view mirror a decade back.

Then a public offering left her wealthy and without a purpose in life. So she returned to the only other home she'd ever known in search of a new purpose in life. What she found was Christine.

Christine had built a good life in that town Laura never wanted to come back to. She did good business selling overpriced renovations to rich people with more money than time, and she was content with the quiet life she’d built for herself in the small town.

Until she drove past Laura’s house one morning and saw that the big city had come to pay a visit, bringing back painful memories she’d thought dead and buried a decade back.

To say Laura and Christine have a complicated past would be an understatement, but it’s a past they’ll have to untangle as sparks fly between them all over again!

When you finally find out why she ran away

The mystery of why your girlfriend ran away. She thought was parental homophobia but the real reason was weirder. She came home 10 years later and got close but wouldn't kiss you was she still homophobic or what. The mystery is eventually reveled. This is a convoluted but interesting love story. Well worth reading and enjoying. Spoiler there is an HEA.

Great Story!

I really like this story and it’s characters. Christine and Laura’s chemistry was written so well. I like the twist on the obvious which gave a new depth to the story. I was a little disappointed in the last couple of chapters. The need Christine had to really love Laura did not show in the chapter when the truth was revealed and they were on their date not date. I like the ending though so all good.

Very entertaining

Christine and Laura had a very interesting history which I made for a very dizzying reading. The ups and downs of their relationship once Laura returned at times was actually humorous. The supporting characters were colorful, especially the biddy brigade. The final date between Christine and Laura apparently solved all their problems and made Laura's mind up to stay in her home town and not return to SF. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Successful woman returns to her small home town to recover from a set back. Not surprisingly things get complicated when Laura inevitably encounters the woman her parents pressured her to dump in high school. The reason for her parents' disapproval finally comes out allowing the main characters their HEA. A reconciliation with Laura's mother is thrown in for good measure.

A great romance

Fantastic characters, a believable rust belt, small town setting, and an interesting plot twist are highlights of this story. The real draw is the fantastic chemistry between the leading ladies, though.... And the grandma is an awesome character!

Not for serious readers.

The story is good but the narrative and sentences are awful to many repetitive phases and confusing sentences. Seems like it was written and edited by a bunch of ten years old.

I liked the idea of the story. Long lost love reuniting! Who wouldn’t. But it was slightly anti-climatic and there was literally no love scenes. I was waiting for the moment that 10 years of waiting to kiss your crush would bring and I was disappointed.

Good book

I really liked this book. You never knew what was going to happen with Laura and Christine and you had to keep reading to find out. But in the end it worked out for everyone.

Enjoyable!

This was a good book with well constructed characters and an entertaining storyline. I'd give it 5 stars if the editing were better. Otherwise, this is a good book for your list.

Enjoyable

I really liked the book. My only complaint is the lack of editing. It's distracting finding so many errors that could have been caught before putting the book out.
