I’ve been brought up in a world of privilege. A world of servants, banquets, and power. To others, they think I have everything. But behind the castle walls and locked doors things are very different.

I know I’m damaged, I know I’m dark, maybe even broken. My mother does this with her words, my father prefers his fists. Hate grows thick within me and when I can’t hurt my parents the servants become my toys – They can be broken and replaced after all.
I hate the world, except for Nierra. The man who will become my husband, he is the only hope I have. But will he be able to love me? Will he be able to save me?

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. The story of Bellona is a dark and twisted one. You could see the tragedies of it all unfolding and you just know that there is nothing that is going to stop it. I can’t say that I loved the book; with my vivid imagination I found that I was so engrossed in what was happening I was tense and anxious the entire time I was reading. But I also could not put it down! What really got me was Bellona’s inner monologue. You could really feel the damage done to her mental health.

All I can think of now is that she is going to make one hell of a villain in whatever upcoming works the author puts out.

This was a different book that I wasn't expecting. Belladonna was a cruel person by circumstances that she couldn't control. Her mother abused her mentally and emotionally and her father beat her. When she finally found love, it was taken from her. Now the people are rebelling and she has lost her humanity. I cant wait to see what happens.

Dark Queen by M.A. Roth is a wonderful story to read. This is a wonderful story that i really loved reading a lot and I highly recommend this story to to everyone who loves reading Paranormal.

An Edge of Your seat, Dark and Twisted Tale. I could not put this book down! Author Roth Captures reader's attention from start to finish with this nail bitting, twisted tale.

At first, I hated the princess! It keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what this evil little wench will do next. The more you read the darker it gets. And just when you think you've had enough of this evil future Queen, you become more enthralled by her and how she turns the hate you feel for her into sorrow. Her strength and will is so powerful and she refuses to let the verbal, mental and physical abuse she suffers from her father and mommy dearest destroy her completely. The parents that should be loving, caring, and grooming her to be a better person, a great Queen for their people, are the ones who have her shattered and darkened her heat, body and soul. It pulls at your heart strings. You want to hate her and feel sorry for her all at once. My heart bled for her! This story had me feeling so many emotions. I wanted to hurt the Queen and King for her! deep down this evil little Queen just wants to be truelly loved and cherished. She only brings pain, and anguish but because, thats all she has been shown, until she meets her future husband. She tries to be good, and it comes through so strongly off the pages, but its as if her parents, especially mommy dearest only wish to make her more evil and twisted.

The little Queen is so jaded, is it possible to be good in all this darkness? Will they take and destroy any goodness she may have left? I cried and was so angry with her parents and as the end drew near, I was rooting for her to overcome it all. And in the end, I wanted more, I needed more!! And it sure ends with a bang! But, don't think it's the end of this tale, surely more is to come... A must read that I recommend if you don't mind a little darkness. Roth blew me away with this one and I can't wait for what she has in store next! I received this free read with no expectations, other than my honest opinion and I'm more than happy to share it. This was my first book by this Author, but definitely not my last.

Every one thinks she has everything but things behind closed doors is another matter. She is abused by words from her mother while her father uses his fists. To get some relief she turns on others especially her servants as they could be replaced. She is now married and she hopes her husband can save her. Will he be able to? See if he can

Wow. This is a story that will keep you on edge. At first I disliked the princess but, once you keep reading you find out why she is the way she is. She takes her anger out with the servants. Her father and mother do not help her and her hate grows. The more you read the story the darker it gets. Can she be saved? It is a roller coaster of emotions. I can not wait to read more.

A dark story of the creation of a broken mind, behind a dark queen.

The story was dark, gritty, well written; and has the perfect beginnings for an evil queen. As a child, the princess was raised with no nurturing, and nothing to nurture. Just as her populace was not nurtured by her royal parents, and in the end there could only be rebellion.

This was a really good quick read that was hard to put down. The story grabs you from the beginning and keeps you pulled in throughout. The book is very well written along with the characters. I recommend reading.

It’s called “Dark Queen,” and it is. I guess we’re supposed to appreciate how an evil person got that way, but I found no solace in it. I couldn’t stand to continue to get to whatever twist ending awaited.

Yikes. I wasn't too keen on just how depraved some of the story got, what with the sex/violence/sexual violence themes. Bellona's narration didn't seem quite mature enough for the subject matter - she could be very YA-hormonal in her mood swings and jealous, angry outbursts. The writing had a lot of sentences strung together with commas rather than being separated which made it a bit of a jerky read. I guess the tone combined with the writing style just really wasn't my sort of thing.

This book is deranged. It's dark. It's horrible. It's about true evil. It is well written, it's not for the faint of heart. It's about a woman who is basically tortured and what that turns her into. It's so bad I cried a lot. It's not sunshine and rainbows. There's no HEA. It truly messes with your mind. If you want a serious mindf***, than read this bad boy. It's very deserving of the 5stars. If you can't handle what I described, don't read it
