The Moretti Brothers: Santino

Rate this book
Charlotte
I couldn’t tell you how I ended up in this situation. Maybe it was carelessness, maybe it was naïveté, but here I was, working for the mob. When I moved to New York City to pursue my dream of singing, I didn’t plan on getting myself involved with one of the most influential organized crime families in the country, but when you witness a mob hit there are only two choices: do what they say or get your affairs in order.

Santino
When I was called to tend to an issue that arose in my club, I wasn't happy. No one likes being interrupted in the middle of the night. But when the interruption turned out to be the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, my entire life changed. From the moment I saw her, I knew she would be mine.

About the author

Kristy Gibs

10 books15 followers
Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense author, Kristy Gibs, lives in New Jersey with her husband and three young children. She grew up inspired by the words of Nicholas Sparks and Nora Roberts, and admits the epic fairy tales still sweep her off her feet. Currently, the author spends her free time shuffling her kids between dance and baseball, cooking, and avoiding airplanes at all costs.

Despite her slight phobia of flying, Kristy Gibs's writing dreams have soared within the last few years. Although the author says she prefers to keep her feet firmly planted on the ground, it's evident she lets her imagination be the one to take flight. Perhaps that's why she's already on her seventh book and has readers anxiously waiting for more.

Her pages are an escape, a world where she can be anything she wants to be. As much as she loves a happily ever after, and is living one of her own, she believes they take work. Butterflies are just the light breeze that fans the heated blush of a lover's cheek. Relationships are built on trust, require respect and sacrifice of pride.

Readers agree: her books are full of truths. To get into the real HEA, Kristy Gibs peels back the sweet layers of romance and exposes the heart-wrenching moments of love. More often than not, they're sweeter than sin.

I can honestly say, the amount of Mob/Mafia books I have read, I can count on one hand. I don't know why, I just never read them. I think when I get a chance I will find some more to jump into and read. I need to read more of these!

Even though it was short, it caught my attention and held it. Small town girl, who just so happens to be a Mormon Bishops daughter, moves to the big city to be a singer. Against her father's wishes of course. She gets a job as a cocktail waitress at a club. Little does she know it's own buy one of the most dangerous men in the city. In a short amount of time, her life takes a turn for the worst, but with the protection of Santino, she will be ok. Or so she thought.

I really liked the story line. I enjoyed the characters. It was a nice quick read, but I had one major problem. The editing on this thing is not so good. Which normally with these, I know they arent finals and will have some errors, but the thing I'm talking about is constant. Never ending, and was rather odd. So that threw me off a bit.

Can't wait for more

This was the first book I have read from this new author and I was not disappointed. This book had great characters, was filled with emotion and the storyline not only hooked me in from the opening pages but I was sad that it ended. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. This was a fabulous read that I highly recommend.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I believe this book is part of a series and will feature the Moretti brothers. I may be wrong as the ending was pretty epic.

I simply love Mafia love stories, I am not sure why but they drag me in like no other romance story. This book is not very short but it did feel like it because I wanted to know more about the characters.
For instance, Charlotte! I wanted to know more and actually see her reactions with her father, stepmother and siblings. I wanted to know more about Santino's family and how they around each other when they aren't being mobsters.

I loved the action packed into it and the plot. I wish Santino and Charlotte would have gotten together sooner because I loved seeing their chemistry and how they developed. This is a great book and I urge everyone to read it because it really is a rare treasure!

Book Blurb:
Charlotte More than a few words could describe how I ended up in this situation; naive, innocent, uneducated or just plain old senseless. My plan when I moved to New York City to pursue my dream of singing didn't include getting myself involved with one of the most influential organized crime families in the country but when you witness a mob hit there are only two choices, do what they say or take a long swim with the fishes. Santino When I was called to tend to an issue that arose in my club, I wasn't happy. No one liked being interrupted in the middle of the night, but when the interruption turns out to be the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, it might not have been so bad after all. From the moment I saw her, I knew she would be mine.

This is book one in The Moretti Brother's Series and it is Santino and Charlotte's story. Charlotte is from a Christian family but after her mother's death her father remarried and Charlotte never felt liked she belonged there and the only thing that kept her going was her singing so she saved as much money as she could so that when she finished college she could go to New York and become a singer and decided that she wouldn't return to Utah where she lived but when she took a job as a waitress in a club she didn't realise that she was working for the mafia and putting herself in there crosshairs. Santino became the Don in there Maria family after his father was murdered and him and his brother's needed to get revenge on the people that did it but what Santino hadn't bargained for was meeting Charlotte and wanting her in his life but he didn't know what to do as she was so innocent. Omg this book was amazing with all it's twists and turns along with danger, betrayal, hope, love, secrets, kidnapping, joy and difficult situations and I couldn't put this book down as I had to see what would happen next. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and it was so addictive and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Kristy This is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and her books are so well written and definitely worth reading.

This review is being left voluntarily and any and all thoughts are my honest opinions on this book and the authors work. Wow, I was lured in from the first paragraph and kept enraptured to this story throughout. This book is full of suspense, drama, angst and mafia romance. This story was written very cohesively with a complete storyline, leaving no details out. Santino and Charlotte have a solid connection and the chemistry between them is scorching. This is a one click book for sure.

I really enjoyed this book and the relationship between the characters. Charlotte and Santino are a very unexpected pair, but they ended up working so well together. Charlotte asked questions of Santino that no one had ever asked him or even wanted to know about. Charlotte allowed him to let his guard down, and Santino loved Charlotte for her innocent, yet feisty self. She challenged and spoke to him in ways that no one dared to. From that, blossomed a relationship that seemed forced at the beginning but evolved into something that they both pursued, not because they were made or expected to but because they *wanted* to.

She had always been wanted to be a singer but when she sees a job but she either has to work for them or maybe die. So she works for them. He hated to be disturbed in the middle of the night so he is mad but when he finds out who he had been called out too. He knows she would be his no matter what. See if he will get her

The Moretti Brothers: Santino by Kristy Gibs
Charlotte is an innocent girl from Utah that leaves her family and heads to New York to make it as a singer. The last thing she expected was to fall in love with a life style and life she never in a million years she would be involved in. If you like suspense, love, innocents and a wicked temper you will love this book.

If you like suspense, drama, and intrigue with a side of humor and love, you should read this book. The story is a fast paced, quick read with characters who grow on you and by the end, even though they are considered bad guys, you'll fall in love with them. Great book and wonderfully executed (see what I did?). :). I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

I enjoyed every second of this book. I did not even feel compelled to skim through it, not even once. It had the right amount of action and romance. I would reread this book again no problem. Now I am just as excited to read the rest of the Moretti brothers stories!

Mediocre. I don't like being spoonfed. I want my Mafia reads to be suspenseful, action packed and dark. The H was not Alpha enough for me. The author repeatedly told us how dangerous he was but I just couldn't see it. The plot was predictable. All in all, it was just a pleasant read, not a book I would pick up again and reread.

A little rushed but an overall decent story

The story felt a bit rushed at times. I thought that the characters were memorable and had good interaction with each other. I would just prefer it be a bit more fleshed out.

Juicy

A little good read. Interesting story line. Well laid out. Only a few typos.
The ending seemed a bit rushed into.
Without a lead into the next chapter in eithers life, seems a bit sealed.

I really enjoyed this book, loved the characters and really looking forward to reading the next book, The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because as sweet as the ending was it just felt too short, BUY maybe we’ll get more of Santino and Charlotte in the next book 😉🤞
