Eri Tsuruyoshi se estrena con este manga autoconclusivo de un solo tomo. Una historia interesante que por su desarrollo parece enfocado a un público juvenil.
La enfermedad de índigo convierte los huesos de los afectados en un mineral de color azul. Este bello mineral es muy valorado por ser una potente fuente de energía que no deja residuo. Eso hará que la codicia humana llegue a crear una isla/laboratorio de donde tendrán que escapar los dos protagonistas. Un joven que ha perdido la memoria y una chica que sufre esta enfermedad.
Dibujo muy correcto donde se echan en falta paisajes debido a que la mayoría del manga sucede en pasillos y salas de laboratorio.
Entretenido y original.

Un manga autoconclusivo con una historia muy interesante y un dibujo muy bueno.
Como suele ser habitual, falta profundidad en los personajes pero en general está bien escrito, es entretenido y plantea una historia original. Da para un buen anime o incluso para una buena película de ciencia ficción.
Teniendo en cuenta que el principal leit-motiv de la historia es el color azul-cobalto se echa de menos alguna página en color. Hubiera quedado genial.

Historia jest naprawdę ciekawa i interesująca która bardzo wciąga, same postacie nie są tu jakieś wyblakłe i zerowe a naprawdę interesujące przez co z przyjemnością czytałem kolejne rozdziały. Największą wadą według mnie jest długość bo ilość historii i świata jaką można było tu przedstawić na pewno zasługiwała by na conajmniej 5 tomów a także back story kilku postaci ale otrzymałem omnibusa historii dwutomowej co kłuje mnie w serce ale była to interesująca historia 4,25/5, ending mógł być lepszy ale reszta oddaje.

Ech, mango z kategorii "ani ziębi, ani grzeje". Solidny początek (pierwsza część zdecydowanie lepsza od drugiej), niezła koncepcja, ale niewykorzystana tak dobrze jak mogłaby być. Kreska dobra, choć nie jestem przekonana do efektu "rozmycia" chorych (nie wiem jak ich nazywać... stworów...?) - większe wrażenie robiliby moim zdaniem bez niego.
Osobna kwestia to polskie wydanie. Nie wiem, czy cały ten nakład taki wyszedł, mi wpadł w ręce jeden trefny egzemplarz, czy może to ja jestem upośledzona i tak miało być (jeśli tak, to fascynujący wybór artystyczny...), ale sekwencja kilku stron powtórzyła się w odstępie może połowy rozdziału. Bądź tu mądry i zgadnij, gdzie to miało faktycznie być. Poza tym ponumerowanych stron było tyle, co kot napłakał, co przy ich liczbie w wysokości ok. 400 było niezmiernie irytujące.
Koniec końców da się przeczytać i całkiem nieźle bawić, ale raczej nie jest to pozycja, którą bym jakoś szczególnie polecała.

Un manga très interessant et qui pousse à la réflexion

Il est rare que j’écrive mon avis des mois après ma lecture mais bon, ça arrive. J’ai lu ce one-shot en juin et nous sommes maintenant en décembre, oups. Il m’a été difficile de trouver les mots je pense.
Pour résumé, Blue Phobia est un beau one-shot classifié type horreur et science-fiction. Je ne suis pas trop fan des manga d’horreur habituellement mais ici, cela a fonctionné. Les personnages sont très intéressants et j’ai aimé suivre leur aventure. Il y a certains chapitres qui m’ont vraiment donné des frissons. Ce que j’ai particulièrement aimé dans ce manga, c’est les réflexions que l’histoire nous oblige à nous poser. Au final, il n’y a pas de bonne cause ou de mauvaise cause, juste des points de vue différents. La fin du manga reste un peu ouverte donc on peut continuer à se poser quelques questions. Rien de dérangeant, justement, j’apprécie.
Je recommande aux personnes qui recherchent un manga psychologique.

En general me ha gustado mucho, el dibujo es genial y la historia te hace pensar, aunque el guión podría estar más elaborado. En cuanto a la historia, la he disfrutado mucho, ojalá hicieran un anime o película de este manga.
Respecto a la edición, he echado en falta alguna página a color, no hay ninguna, sólo vemos el color del mineral por la portada.

From the perspective of manga as medium, I very much enjoyed the artstyle and especially some of the panel choices and arrangements were very apt, with action fragments in particular being of a quality I genuinely didn't expect in this genre.
As to the the story itself, Blue Phobia did not disappoint me, seeing as it does its particular trope of amnesiac scientist, secret goverment/agency research facility meets jailbreak quite solidly. The fact it does so neatly fit into a specific formula is partially broken by some of the deeper themes it attempts to address - however, it is there that I also see its greatest shortcomings. The story addresses human greed as a theme, energy production and nuclear power, as well as scientific endeavour for the sake of science, but I feel that in the metaphorical comment it becomes somewhat muddled. The main plot is that there is an illness or condition that transforms human bones into crystals, crystals that are also able to function as an energy source. The facility experiments with these humans (who turn partially blue). So there is the literal sacrifice of humans for energy, but also greed transforming human bodies as such, and also racial discrimination and eugenics which then... serve as a solution to nuclear power problems as well? My criticism is that as throughout the story more themes are introduced to this allegory - and it isn't that many either - the more the metaphor embedded in this indigo illness does not hold up anymore. Similarly, aspects like human experimentation cannot really sustain their argument once we get into the aspects of deleting scientists' memories or, conversely, using them to produce harmful things even against their will. And the eugenics bit is muddled by how the "Other" is also the bad guy. Kind of. Also, there is a proto-Gojo Satoru in this that appears both too late and (especially now that, some years after the original release of Blue Phobia, Gojo does exist) is not quite as well used as a character as he should be, for how central he supposedly is. Or could be.
This would be another point of criticism I'd have, namely that essentially all the characters are not developed well enough, and Meer in particular remains entirely one-dimensional. This, naturally, should be attributed to the nature of the story as a one-shot; though I still think it could be done much better. All in all, an enjoyable read with very interesting ideas, which is why I give it 3 stars - for the ideas embedded and the potential of both the metaphor and characters, somewhat more than for the actual execution.
(Also, I figured out how to decide which manga to count as a "book" on Goodreads now. Not the normal volumes of ongoing series, and small one-shots; but those that are double-or-more editions and more novel-length one-shots. It would be a shame not to add hours of reading on my little annual list, after all.)

Une histoire vraiment très bien écrite, un univers bien plus qu'intriguant. Les dessins ainsi que les personnages m'ont fortement plu et l'idée d'une nouvelle resource avec autant d'enjeux m'a vraiment remuée. J'ai dévoré cette lecture ! Honnêtement, j'avais déjà eu un énorme coup de cœur sur la couverture et sur le résumé mais une fois lancée, impossible de m'arrêter. Je le recommanderai mille fois, et sûrement le relirai de nouveau !
J'ai sincèrement hâte que l'auteur publi un autre manga, je suis prête à foncer l.achetet les yeux fermés.

Dylogia opisuje nam przygodę dwójki osób, którzy starają się przynieść kres nieludzkim zachowaniom związku z indygopatią --> ciekawą wymyśloną choroba, która zmienia kości w szafie morski(który może pełnić rolę małej elektrowni) i sprawia że ciało w pierwszym stadium niebieścieje. Akcja w dylogii jest niesamowita, rysunki mogłyby być nieco lepsze, co nie zmienia faktu, że jest to niesamowita manga, która polecam każdemu.

El manga perfecto para reflexionar sobre los límites éticos en la medicina, algo que a día de hoy se debería de tener más en cuenta.
Creo que como todos los comentarios, se echa mucho menos alguna página a color en la que se vea reflejado el color índigo tan importante en este manga.

This manga absolutely deserves a full color release! I would love to see Meer's blue hair and skin in every panel, the stark red of spilled blood, the whites of the 'decolorization' drug, the silver of those mechanical arms, the fiery infernos of the explosions, and then at the very end, the pure green of that field and the blue sky.
The art was lovely and a few panels would definitely be worth hanging up on the wall. The crystallization process is beautiful even though it's gruesome. The story didn't blow me out of the water (haha) but I did enjoy it from start to finish. I think this series was the perfect length. 4/5
