After discovering a hidden chamber inside her late uncle's house, Evangeline Griffon unintentionally awakens an ancient being who calls himself Vernon. Bound by a mysterious contract, Eva apprehensively accepts Vernon as her guardian and begins her new life in the countryside.
2 years ago I only read the first few episodes. Can't believe they ended it after one season. But tbh, these forms of media are only fun when you anticipate episodes every week. When you're able to read it all in one ago it doesn't feel as exciting, haha. The plot is nothing special but we didn't get to see the conflicts resolved. Anyway coming back to webtoons after so long and seeing that so many have been completed is such a great but sad feeling...
WTF, Webtoon?? Why would you cancel such a good story?! clears throat Anyway, moving on...
While this may be too slow-paced for some, the story doesn't drag and instead takes the time to organically develop the relationship between Eva and Vernon. I adore how gentle and considerate Vernon is, especially when compared to other fictional vampires. (Plus, he's so pretty. He kind of reminds me of Rai from Noblesse.) I was really invested in unravelling the mystery surrounding Vernon, Eva's uncle and the inhabitants of the town, so I'll be crossing my fingers for a Season 2 because Atelier on the Sunflower Hill is worth the wait, however long that may be.
I’m so sad this series ended without wrapping up any of the story line. We still don’t know what her uncle did to her, we don’t know who that suspicious blonde guy was, we didn’t even get a PROPER KISS!! Vernon was a breath of fresh air. Finally a WEBTOON ML that is kind and a gentleman that can frick you up if you mess with his women. Vernon was a walking green flag and I think one of my favorite male leads. I know that the author will never see this comment but if they do I want them to know that it was one of my favorite WEBTOON ever and I will always pray that I get to read the rest someday.
