I mean don't get me wrong usually I am very into mystery thriller books but this one was just SO rushed.
I truly feel like I am still processing 99% of the things that happened within this book..
In this book we follow the story of Oliva, a housewife that moves to a remote town with her new husband. Oliva is an upcoming therapy artist who has started to make a name for herself. Wanting to fit into her new town she starts to branch out and make new friends.
But when one of those friends ends up dead and she becomes the main suspect in a homicide case who will come to defend and protect Oliva?
This book as I said before is just so rushed, I feel like you can't even fully appreciate some of the relationships or the things that are happening.. Ugh
I found this book to be unbelievable. All of the characters were unlikeable. There was little character development. The storyline was rushed and disjointed. I made the mistake of listening to the audio version and I have to say it was the worst, most unprofessional audio book I have ever listened to. The narrator sounded like an AI narrator rather than a person. The recording picked up odd sounds in the background. The timing, inflection and pronunciation of typical words were off. So disappointing to the point of almost being comical. I will not be reading anything else from this author.
I imagine some will enjoy this book but it was not for me. I listened to the audiobook and was surprised to find out the narrator was a real person. It was difficult to listen to. It was disjointed and the main character was totally clueless. Despite that she is touted for her intellect and bravery when blundering into every scene.
Um,... okay...? So, if I close my eyes, click my heels together 3 times, and make a wish will I exit the tornado and come out on the other side not having to try and piecemeal this book together?
It reminded me of trying to put together the family tree charts in school but the students who have 2 moms & 2 dads and 10-13 kids in each family become a nightmare trying to chart out & show how each person is related. That is what happens in the book. So much is happening with so many people there is such a whirlwind of activity it's like being in a hurricane. Unlike other books where I like trying to figure out who the bad guy is, this one took it too far. Too many possibilities.
This wasn't my favorite book. Pick another book if you have an option.
BEHIND HER BACK An Olivia Lane Mystery-Book is the novel in the psychological thriller series by author Justine Blake. “This is a great mystery with an awesome story, and characters, …It was amazing audio and it encourage me from the very beginning of my year…
The book itself was okay, I actually found the plot pretty interesting, but that ending felt so rushed it was like it was over in seconds and not because I was speed reading. I still liked it, but wish the ending and reveal could have been flushed out a little more. Still a fairly good 'whodunnit'
The general story line is that Olivia moves to her new husband's home town with him. They attend a neighborhood party (swing party, she was not aware that's what it was) and someone ends up dead. I listened to the audiobook and found it to be choppy and patchy.

Listened to audio book, poor quality. Story itself seemed rushed. Love a good mystery crime novel. Motive of murder seemed weak. Probably wouldn’t read next book in the series.
