Dreams and Reality #16

Anonymous Dreams

Rate this book
Snuff films are a myth. Everyone knows that. When a serial killer begins rampaging through Kansas City, Missouri, the press dubs him The Lady Burner, because after he kills his victims, he sets their bodies on fire and burns down their houses. The SCTU knows that the fires are just a forensic counter measure. He’s covering his tracks; he rapes and strangles these women while filming it. He offers the videos up for sale on the dark web, forcing Aislinn Cain and the SCTU to track a killer through the sleazy digital marketplaces where someone can buy anything if they have enough money. However, once inside the marketplaces, Aislinn realizes it’s not just a case of tracking down the person selling the videos. There’s an infrastructure in place that insulates the video maker, the seller, the distributor, and the buyers. Ensuring everything on the dark web, even the makers of snuff films, are anonymous

Hadena James

Hadena James began writing at the age of eight. As a teenager, she had several short stories published in literary magazines. She completed writing her first novel at the age of 17.
Hadena graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in European History with minors in German and Russian studies. She has always wanted to be a writer so she also took several classes in creative writing.

Hadena’s primary literary genre is action/thriller. She currently writes two series, both use action/thriller. “The Brenna Strachan Series” uses fantasy and the “Dreams & Reality Series” uses murder mystery as its secondary genre. She continues to explore and expand her writing and hopes to soon produce a comedic action/thriller.

When she isn’t busy writing or running her business, Hadena enjoys playing in a steel-tip dart league. She also loves to travel throughout North America and Europe. Her favorite cities are Chicago, Illinois and Berlin, Germany. She is an avid reader, reading everything from the classics like Jane Austen to modern writers like Terry Pratchett. One of her all-time favorite books is “Good Omens” by Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett. She writes all of her books while listening to music and the bands tend to get “honorable mentions” within the pages.

Excellent As Always

Hadena James doesn't disappoint when it comes to action and Ace. Not as much of Malachai in this book as I would like, but still, an awesome addition to the Aislinn Cain series. Can't wait for the next one!

DIFFERENT

Different is the bestwayto described this book. I was sure that "Anonymous" was written by two different authors.

CHARACTERS
1. All the known characters, Aislynn, Xavier, Gabriel, Fiona, Lucas, etc was supported each others.

Taking Gabriel out hurt the story a lot. Lucas and Xavier were taken in previous books but the story flows, here don't.

Aislinn look lost, Lucas doesn't shos what is needed.

2. STORY
Like itbut id not as strong as the other books, and I had the whole collection. The different aproaches, and weaving feel forced.

The "new" don't kill just maim, stop Aislinn to grow. Yes, it's Killers vs. SCTU, not angels.

3. REPETITION
This phrase was repeated by Aislynn, some with afew changes, "They were just happy the serial killer was off the street", not Aislynn style

Great read

This whole series is a great read. Psychopathic good guys chasing down the bad guys in their own quirky way. That’s the fun of it. You never know when arresting the bad guy just happens to interrupt a mob hit after interrupting an act of revenge, all this happening inside a gated community of law enforcement officers. I admit this is a favorite series of mine and I could write a book about the great characters and refreshing storylines. These stories make u-turns you never see coming and have you laughing out loud at all the chaos that’s the natural tone of this series. Enjoy.

Hadena never disappoints

Having read all of the books in the series and become a huge fan awaited this one with nervous anticipation. As usual Hadena didn't disappoint! I was enthralled from the beginning drawn into Aislinn's weird avid wonderful world of Physchopsths & serial killers once more. The only negative thing? I wanted it to go on forever! I could easily continue to read these books and no others asc long as they keep coming! A must read if you're a fan. Suggest you go back and start the series of you're not one yet!!

They put Aislinn Cain in an electrified dog cage...

Another brilliant story in the Dreams and Reality saga. As usual the story follows the SCTU on another case as Aislinn leads the charge in all her sociopathic glory the SCTU finds themselves stuck between and serial killer and the mob.

Couldn't put it down!

I always love the books in the Dreams and Reality Series. While this book wasn't as action packed as normal, it definitely kept me in suspense and cleared up questions. I can't wait to see what happens next! I will continue to read this author's books as long as she continues to write them. Definitely recommend.

Always awesome

You know when Hadena James releases a new book it's going to be incredible and this one is no exception. Aislinn has a special kind of snark that you can't help but laugh at, even when there's a serial killer involved. Start with the first book in the series and get to know everyone along the way.

Good Story and Some Comedy

Ace (Aislinn) is her usual self, there's no stopping her once she makes up her mind. This story focuses more on Fiona and cyber crimes that lead to more serial criminals being located and taken down by the SCTU. Overall a good addition to the series. Plenty of comedic breaks too.

Hadena James had me reading at breakneck speed

Ace and the SCTU have another serial killer to stop, this one is selling his kills on video. Will the team be able to find him before he kills his next victim.

It's been far too long between books in this series. I've missed Ms Cain's unintentional humor and strange insights. This began as a possible serial rapist/murderer but the crew found a few more along the way. Cliffhanger ending. Hope the sequel follows shortly.

Just keeps getting better

Though there are one or two minor continuity issues, this book just goes to show that Ace's world just keeps getting better and better. I absolutely love the intertwining of the Daniel's clan. While it's hard to read, and as a result imagine crimes against children, the dark web aspect was a new, interesting crime base. The aspect of it hitting so close to home adds a compelling layer as well. Just goes to show, the bad guys are never really far away. Love the cliffhanger and the potential foreshadowing around the vacation!
