International Relations Theory

Rate this book

Not only does Brown offer an extremely illuminating survey of his subject, he also skillfully blends an accurate and sympathetic summary of the main texts with fair-minded and often penetrating criticism of the theories he discusses. The book grabs the reader and is almost impossible to put down. (Terry Nardin)

It’s a good start in 2020, though it seems the International Politics academy has developed somewhat. The key theme here is the repudiation of Realist theory for the crime of lacking any ethical backbone and only being legitimate in acute international crisis. This was a recommended reading for POLS3502 at The University of Queensland.
