Jack Harper, the horse trainer, has fulfilled the terms of his penance by apologizing to his ex-girlfriend in England for deserting her when she was pregnant – and insisting she abort their baby.
But he suspects he may be atoning for something he didn’t do when she flies over to the U.S. in the hopes of rekindling their romance.
Then Joe, the teenager he helped overcome ulcerative colitis, comes back to see him, spinning Jack’s world into an emotional turbulence that he is powerless to control.
All Jack ever wants is to train horses – but once again, God has other plans for him.

Riding out the Tempest by Hiliary Walker This book we find Jack and he's mentoring a boy he had met prior. Robert adjusts quickly with the food and the environment he is surrounded by. He takes a major liking to dogs and they listen to him. They each heal one another. Jack finds now that Jill is visiting he learns more about the son he thought was aborted. He prays to God a lot with help from Father Michael. Joe's mom visits also and he learns about where Joe was adopted from...Mr. Harper also pays a visit and things get hectic at times. Joe also stops by often to help with the horses. Like everything about this book and the series. Religion is a plus for me along with diet for UC even though I'm not effected. Can't wait til the next book to find out what happens... Books by the author are highlighted at the end along with about the author. Information about UC is also discussed among other similar diseases. I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
A lot of interesting information about horses, and the backstory regarding Jacks son, (that he didn't know he had,) but over all, it read like a Hallmark TV show... The book ends with a soft cliffhanger about revealing the truth to his son and Jacks love interest... (Which is designed to motivate the reader to purchase the next book on the trilogy.)
This is the second book in the series (The Jack Harper Trilogy).
This story is so good........ have to get the third book...... because the story has been left at a place where I just have to get the last book to read the rest of the story.
