X-Clan #1.5

The Experiment

Rate this book
Daciana
I'm an offering. A test. A pawn in an agreement I know little about.

Fly to Andorra Sector.
Allow them to experiment.
Mate an X-Clan Wolf Alpha.
Hope for the best.

Those are my orders. My fate. My current existence. There's nowhere to run, and the moon is a clock I can't ignore. One of these Alphas will claim me, assuming our genetics are a match. And if not, well, that's a fate worse than death.

Tick tock.
Make a choice.
Your future depends on it.

Elias
The pretty little blonde wolf has seen too much pain for her young years.

It makes me want to fix her.
To adore her.
To show her there can be good in this world.
But our future is wrapped up in an experiment.

Either she's compatible or she's not. The moon will determine our fate, or perhaps my inner wolf will decide it for us. Because with each passing moment, it becomes harder not to claim the female who I know in my heart is very much mine.

Run, run, little one.
And don't look back.
For if I catch you,
I just may bite.

Note: This is a standalone novella featuring characters from Andorra Sector, Book One of the X-Clan Series. It has Omegaverse elements and features a happily-ever-after ending.

Reading the first half of this book reminded me of someone hiring a fixer to clean up a public image. It’s hard to forget what this male character did in his past.

Had I killed a female during sex before? Yes. A human. After sharing her with Ander. One time. Never again. Because neither of us could stomach the aftermath.

Except they laugh about it in book one.

As if mentioning he killed a woman during sex once wasn’t enough…

Yeah, I’ve done some shit to females I regret. But I’ve only ever killed one—a human—which is why I don’t fuck them anymore.

I commend the author for a valid attempt at painting this character in a better light.

The FMC goes from a quivering pile of nerves, to a suuuuper quick recovery. She had an incredibly painful childhood, just buried her mother, to suddenly falling in love?

This book wasn’t bad, but I didn’t enjoy it very much.

This is a spin-off novella set in the same world as Andorra sector.
Especially adoring that one I was really looking forward to this one.
So here we have Elias and Daciana, Alpha and Omega, the former an X-Clan wolf and the latter Ash wolf.
An experiment between the two packs to see if they are compatible as future mates.
Daciana's upbringing and past experiences have scarred her, her late mother a beta died by the hands of cruel Alpha's and this has shaped her thoughts and left her distrustful and suspicious of all Alphas motives and ultimate intentions especially towards her an omega.
Elias is second in command to Ander he is in charge of all security when it comes to his pack.
He instantly feels drawn to the tiny meek omega female wanting to protect and cosset her shielding her from any ill intentions.
So right from the start here I could feel the deep connection these two were forming.
This was so heartfelt but at the same time was super hot and sexy.
I really appreciated the stripped back low angst feel this had.
enjoyed this a lot it was a great addition to the series and I am looking forward to reading more set in this world.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Experiment (X-Clan #2)

The Experiment was a quick Novella about an Ash Wolf Omega and an X-Clan Wolf Alpha. Daciana is the Omega who is sent to the Andorra Sector as an agreement to see if she can mate with an X-Clan Wolf Alpha. Poor Daciana fears Alphas so much since her mother was a beta pleasure worker and she watched as Alpha's destroyed her for their pleasures. Elias is an X-Clan Alpha who is immediately drawn to the small Omega. I loved that the agreement meant that Elias had to court Daciana and it was her choice. As with most books in this genre I always enjoy the Estrus and love the nesting. Overall, it was a really enjoyable book and I look forward to reading more books in this series.

This was a good little novella giving us Elias and Daciena’s story, which took place during the events of book 1 - Andorra Sector.

I really like the world and will be diving into Winter’s Arrow right away.

An amazing story, I only wish it was longer!

We saw glimpses of Daciana and Elias in the first X-Clan book, here we get to see how they came to be a couple. Whilst you can read this as a stand alone, with it being a novella, I would recommend reading Andorra Sector first so that you fully understand the world and it's inhabitants. It's also a really fantastic omegaverse/shifter tale, just like this one.

Somebody really needed their behind kicking for not having explained to Daciana just how valued she was by both the Ash Wolves as well as those of the X-Clan. An omega deeply traumatised by the situation she had been 'rescued' from, it was no wonder her expectations were so low and she was prepared for the worst. Thankfully she got the best, in the alpha that is Elias. He is just so protective, so caring, so totally and utterly swoon-worthy that you can't help but fall in love with him.

The Experiment totally drew me in and I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough. It's hot, sexy, full of feels and a sheer joy to read. I guarantee that once you pick it up you won't want to put it down until you have finished the book. You will be captivated by Elias and his ability to heal the mental and emotional scars that Daciana carries. I'm also certain you will be cheering this pair on from the sidelines, desperate for them to get their HEA.

Not what I expected but not bad

Based on the high amount of angst and miscommunication in the first book, I was kinda ready for the same but in novella form. Instead I got a sweet, protective hero that heals the heroine with kindness.

It was very insta, but then again, it's a novella. Not amazing, but enjoyable while it lasted.

This was about Elias and Daciana. Elias is Ander's second in command who you met from book 1 if you read it. Daciana came to their sector as part of a trade agreement. Elias' sector doesn't have omegas and Daciana was meant to come to see if she was compatible with their alphas. But Elias immediately realizes he wants her for himself.

Daciana is damaged from her childhood and does not think highly of alphas and is terrified of them. Her mother was brutally killed by them in her sector and she wears the mental scars from that. Elias sets out to teach her that not every alpha is bad and they could be perfect together. I loved the tenderness and patience he showed Daciana and I loved that Daciana grew from scared and meek to strong and proud. It really was a cute story that is very unlike most omegaverses.

That being said, I could have done without all the sex. Look, I love steam in my books but every page they were getting it on and I got bored. So while I liked this, I didn't love it. It was just an ok installment in this series.

Bentornate, Fenici!

2.5 stars 🌟 This wasn’t bad. It just felt very instant, short and rushed. The female lead was very subdued. I prefer a stronger type of heroine. One resigned to her fate isn’t that enduring

The Experiment by Lexi C. Foss tells the story of Daciana and Elias. Daciana is part of a trade with the Andorra Sector Wolves, having come from a wolf clan where she is seen as weak and to be used, she isn’t used to someone like Elias who is an Alpha, dominant but also kind. He sees something in Daciana which she and others don’t see in her, sass, strength and beauty.

This was a fast paced and easy read novella which puts us right into the middle of the Andorra Sector and the goings on there. Straight away there was a great dynamic between Daciana and Elias. Daciana is a character who it is sad to read about and what she has been through at the beginning is quite rough, but over the course of the story you see her inner strength come out and that is partly due to the help of Elias. If you’ve read the first book from this series, you would have been introduced to Elias to begin with and know that he is all alpha, but without the hot temper. He certainly seems to balance out the rest of his pack as well as the main alpha of the Andorra pack, Anders who is definitely more stubborn.

Both characters definitely deserve each other and their happy ending. The author weaves an amazing world around you that makes you want to keep turning the pages whilst also finding out more about other characters which pop up. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

im sorry but this cover??????????? 😍😍😍😍

so I finished the first one and immediately went on to this one and it was so !!!!!!!!! nGHHHH I just love the dynamic of a strong, nurturing, mmc caring and helping the shy, haunted fmc heal like it just !!! does things to me sobbbbb

I do wish this had been longer, maybe even a full length novel just so we could really see her healing journey at a slower more realistic pace. her character was a little shaky at the beginning, because we would hear how scared and skittish she was but then she would snap and talk back in the same breath so it felt a little weird, but their dynamic really won me over :'))

so so cute, the fmc in this is one of my fav kinds of fmc's to read about so I really enjoyed this!!

I'm loving this series so far and this book shows another side to the wolves: Elias the caring, passionate alpha. We get more glimpses into the world of the X-Clan wolves, with Daciana being offered up as an Omega to see if the clans can breed. Elias, instantly attracted to her, wants to protect her but as much as Daciana wants to trust him, she's scarred and scared. Elias must win her trust. What a wonderful story.

Elias is often surprised by his mate, "I blew out a breath and shook my head. “You weren’t kidding about being good with a bow.” Even with the high-tech one I’d fitted for her, she nailed every target." I liked this book, I loved Elias and I also loved seeing his bond with Ander.

This takes place simultaneously with the first book. In the first book Elias mates with the first Omega traded for technology with another clan. But there isn’t too much information beyond that. In this short story you get to be there as their relationship evolves and grows.

I was hedistant to start this one, because we got the big clues in the first book.

But still I was a bit curious and enjoyed the book.
Elias sure is different in this one, a bit more layed back, at least I got that feeling.

I did hate Arthur and Enzo, so I was glad to have read Andorra first so I got my revenge.

Short and sweet

This couples story was short and sweet, I feel a lot more could have been added to continue this storyline, maybe in the future we will get to see more between them. I loved it but felt it ended before it's time. Deff recommend for a quick HEA read.

This bingeworthy novella is a fabulous addition to the X-Clan series by Lexi Foss. While it takes place during the same time frame as Andorra Sector, it can be read as a standalone. I really enjoyed getting to learn more about the mysterious Omega from the Ash Wolf clan that we first meet in Andorra Sector. Her and Elias are a fantastic pair for one another. While Andorra Sector was much more of a bully romance, X Clan: The Experiment is pure omegaverse romance bliss. This was a fast and easy read, high on heat and heart. I greatly enjoyed it!

Dafuq? I was really enjoying this until this happened: "Had I killed a female during sex before? Yes. A human. After sharing her with Ander. One time. Never again. Because neither of us could stomach the aftermath."

What in the freakidy-fack was that??? Okay, so this guy, Elias, is an alpha. And he knows—he knows—that only omegas can handle an alphas knot. So why would he do something horrible like this? I don't care if it was in the past. Daciana was right to be afraid. It seemed so wildly out of character from someone who displayed such care and concern towards a woman who'd been victimized by alphas in the past. It took me right out of the story, which was a shame, as the writing was really good. DNF @ 28%. 1.5 stars.

Okay, so I loved Andorra Sector, which this is set in the same world, universe and story setting. I love the wolves and the zombies aspect, although the zombies aren’t a massive feature. But what I absolutely loved about this story was the chemistry and believability of the characters.

Everything flows, like chemistry between Daciana and Elias was just fluidity personified. I believed they were destined mates even before their supposed match predetermined it. I enjoyed the chemistry between Elias and the alpha Ander Cain. The camaraderie and ease in which these two had really showed. You can tell why he’s Anders best friend and why Ander made Elias his second.

This author always amazes me with her world building. I imagine it’s like someone saying “write this story.” And shes all like “hold my beer!”

Can’t wait for more from this world. Highly recommend!

Damn, I love this series! It's so addictive and one of the best Omegaverse series I've read.

This novella runs parallel with first book, while Ander fights with his Omega, Elias is taken with Daciana, who's from another clan and their wolves are immune against zombies. So, they conduct an experiment of sort to see the comparability between two different wolves.

Elias was so patient and respectful of Daciana, knowing her past. It was exactly what she needed and rather to force her to submit to him, he encouraged her to be stronger and to see not all Alphas are assholes.
