On the verge of being thrown into the dreaded pit, Bianca splatters the contents of the phial that Loretta gave her into the face of Bishop Rasvan and pushes him into the pit. Terrified of the repercussions of her actions, she initially hides away in her room. When his body is discovered in the pit, a furious Lovina summons her Board and demands to know who was responsible for killing her favourite Bishop. By some miracle, Bianca is able to resist Lovina’s compulsion when she’s questioned. The Queen decides that the Board must be complete and announces that Bianca will fight Knight Kelsus.

Bianca is saddened that she must fight Knight Kelsus as she had always respected him. Kelsus puts on a good show for the Queen but eventually sacrifices himself so that Bianca can fulfill the Prophecy and rid Acedrex of its two tyrannical rulers.

The contents of the chalice containing the Queen’s blood is three times over the amount she was given as a Rook and Bianca is horrified by her physical transformation into a Bishop. Now, powerless to resist Lovina’s compulsion when questioned about the whereabouts of a Trove, she informs the Queen on Mr Oakes, the apothecary owner who sells Bloodshade to Troves. The Queen arrests Mr Oakes who despite being tortured, refuses to give up the list of customers to whom he sold Bloodshade.

A distraught Bianca considers killing Oakes in order to put an end to his suffering and protect the Troves from the Queen. Unfortunately she is unable to find him in the Palace. When all seems lost, an old ally who has been sent by Loretta comes to her aid. She gives her a phial that will help Bianca to resist the Queen’s compulsion.

When Nyro discovers that Bianca betrayed Oakes, they argue and Nyro, shocked by her new appearance assumes she’s embraced her dark side and walks away. Determined to redeem herself, Bianca realises that her only option is to challenge the Queen...

White Queen is the ninth exciting instalment of the Vampire Court series. The book was tense, compelling and fast paced. I confess I was riveted from the first page, engrossed to such an extent that I couldn’t believe it when I reached the last page. Throughout the course of the nine books, the author has had a wonderful knack for writing about characters that positively leap from the pages. Her world building has been exceptional and utterly convincing.

This has been a truly addictive series and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for Bianca and Nyro in the penultimate instalment of the series.

I was given an advanced copy of this instalment and I am voluntarily reviewing it.

Hard to put down. What is going to happen? Bianca feels betrayed by Nyro. She still wants to Kill Maximus. She is tired of Rasvan trowing her in the pit. But then when she pushed him into the pit, is he dead? What will the Queen do? Who will she become? Can she trust the prophecy? How many will die because of her choices? Can she live with herself?

This is the most important part of the series that Bianca needs her game face on and more strength than she thinks she can possibly have, as she waits for news on, what should have been the unbelievable to happen, meaning the only question left, will be her life or death? Learning the truth scares her to her core as there is no turning back, she will become something other. Her will is strong but there are only so many things she has the strength to withstand, unfortunately the ultimate betrayal of the people she spent her whole life protecting is one of them & Nyro despises her for it fueling him into the ultimate betrayal... as the Queen becomes stronger and more uncaring of the city she is supposed to protect, Loretta continues to try and convince Bianca she and Nyro are the saviours of the prophecy leaving her no choice and the only option left... To Challenge The Queen. This series has been so exciting and only frustrating with having to wait in between each book. It captivates your imagination transporting you into a world of which you never doubt exists. Next comes the black king and I can’t wait !!!

With one bishop dead after ages, there is a real challenge coming. The board must be complete, and Bianca is put into a fight for her life - and for promotion. In light of the prophecy, she acquires unexpected allies, while losing another part of her humanity and free will, and getting her heart broken by more than just Nyro's words and witnessing her own actions. Now has come the time to fight, and she cannot give up.
The closer the finale approaches, the more intense the story becomes. Horrors and regrets drive the plot, lifted up by rays of hope, kind reminders when all hope seems to be lost. The pressure on Bianca is almost within the reader's touch, and the energy flowing from the emotions even despite the vampire blood is enormous. Once started, the series is very addictive and I am rushing forward to witness the epic conclusion.

One word came to my mind as I finished this latest installment in the Vampire Court series: determination. Throughout all of the things that are thrown her way, Bianca continues determined to reach her ultimate goal of dethroning Queen Lovina and giving the city of Acedrex a chance for peace.
It still remains to be seen whether Bianca is truly the person who will fulfill the prophecy, but she won’t let that deter her. Even after the upgrade to Bishop and the consequences that came with it, she continues focused on what she came to do in the White Palace. Will she be able to accomplish that? And if so, at what risk? I can’t wait to find out!

After the explosive ending to the Knight books, Bianca has to live with becoming a Bishop and the betrayal of Nyro. There was more secrets and intrigue this time around and more interaction with the crazy White Queen. I loved watching Bianca try yo stay herself with the poison of the White Queen in her body. It was fun and wild and addicting to read to see what would happen next. I was glued to the end and not disappointed with the suspense of it all. I love this series.

As I read this book I felt all of Bianca's anguish, she's still dealing with Nyro's betrayal and now she had to deal with her own of people she holds dear. My heart broke for her but I love this girl's resolve despite being pushed into something by a prophecy she has no control over. I can't wait to see how she gets to be queen and if she gets to finally vanquish Maximus! That and I hope she and Nyro get back together soon☺️. Next please!

The suspense is grueling and ratcheting up heading towards Checkmate. Bianca is just livid especially after Nyro found out that Bianca supposedly betrayed him. Seriously? He betrayed her didn’t he? Tit for tat anyone? Oh, wait, this is chess isn’t it. Is Bianca livid enough to best the White Queen? I am ready to find out! Upward and onward, or is it downward and onward? I guess it’s onward nonetheless. So onward I go.

This is such a nail biter of a book. I love the episode style of this series, and each new installment has me on the edge of my seat. This one is no exception as Bianca is reeling from the conversation she overheard between Nyro and the black king. I'm dying to see how this is al going to pan out.

Intense

This installment is very intense as Bianca deals with climbing the ranks even more, the deception by Nyro, and of course the White Queen herself! I'm off to find out what was going on in Nyro's world! Can't wait to see how this all plays out.

😫The prophecy is coming to life as we know it. I hope Queen Lovina comes to a painful end with that wooden stake.

It's always the greed for power that corrupts the female perception.
