About the author

福建長樂人，1947年生於西安，成長於台灣。
中國文化大學史學系、藝術研究所畢業，並於1972年負笈法國巴黎大學藝術研究所。曾任《雄獅》美術月刊主編、東海大學美術系主任，現任《聯合文學》社長。

多年來以文、以畫闡釋生活之美與生命之好，為台灣美學大師。寫作小說、散文、詩、藝術史，以及美學論述作品等，深入淺出引領人們進入美的殿堂。並多次舉辦畫展，深獲各界好評。

近年專事兩岸美學教育的推廣。

花了一年的時間，慢慢讀完整本書。
從蔣勳的眼裡看這個世界，有時歡喜、悲傷、但總是有美的氣息。也時常因為一些過往的生活經驗連結，而感到熟悉或是一同感嘆。推薦作為放在桌邊的一本日常書，不用急著讀，卻是像過日子一樣慢慢翻閱。

A collection of simple photos of mother nature, and reflection in life based on that observation of nature. I particularly like how the author sectioned his book with reference to the traditional 24 “seasons” in Chinese culture.

Small, pieces of contemplation for life throughout a whole year that side with a photo in each prose. The content is enchanting but sometimes I think it’s more like a spontaneous record of feelings, lack a complete center thought...but maybe that’s having life with a leisure heart.
