Lacy Williams wishes her writing career was more like what you see on Hallmark movies: dreamy brainstorming from a French chateau or a few minutes at the computer in a million-dollar New York City penthouse. In reality, she’s up before the sun, putting words on the page before her kids wake up for the day. Those early-morning and late-night writing sessions add up, and Lacy has published fifty books in almost a decade, first with a big five publisher and then as an indie author. When she needs to refill the well, you can find Lacy birdwatching, gardening, biking with the kiddos, or walking the dog. 3 stars I purchased a copy of the clean historical western romance The Cowboy's Honor (Wild Wyoming Hearts Book 13){Wind River Hearts book 13}{ Wyoming Legacy book 8} by Lacy Williams and this review was given freely. Spanning multiple years and divided into two parts, this book contains some cliffhangers and is a heavy and serious story filled with violence and traumatic events for the White family including Seb's traumatic reunion with Emma and Daniel after being brutal beaten by his crime boss Tolliver; Seb's incarceration; new school teacher Cecelia being falsely accused of flirting with a married man and fired without a reference; Emma's typist's unwanted attentions; and escapee Tolliver seeking revenge on Seb and his family by targeting the White's Bear Creek ranch and a widowed neighbor's ranch murdering livestock as well as brutal beating Matty. Attempts at lightness are inserted through brief mentions of Daniel's marriage;Seb and Emma's return to Bear Creek after a three year absence; and Seb and Emma's romance.
I’ve been waiting for Seb and Emma’s story for a long time! It was worth the wait! They were teenage sweethearts and then Emma abruptly left with no word to Seb and broke his heart! She felt she had a good reason but looking back, Seb doesn’t agree when he discovers what it was. During those years, Seb’s life goes off the rails and falls apart until one night when he is at death’s door and is delivered to Emma’s brother’s house. Emma never thought she’d see Seb again so it’s bittersweet but she nurses him back to health. I loved that the author didn’t sugarcoat things and made things difficult for Seb because he’d brought all this on himself. I loved being back in Bear Creek with Seb’s family. I’ve missed all those characters! It was fascinating to read about blindness at that time period and how Emma dealt with it. A great book!
Seb has chosen a rough life after his girl Emma ran from him. He didn't know her illness had left her blind. She thought he wouldn't love her with such a handicap. So two years later she is strong & self sufficient & living with her brother in Denver, when Seb is suddenly tossed into the house after being beaten nearly to death. He's going to turn state's evidence against Tolliver, a career criminal. Eventually he is free to return home to Bear Creek WY, but alas, Tolliver has escaped & beat him there. Well written and good story.
Prodigal son returns home marries his sister in law sister.
Loved being back with Penny,Jonas and the boys. Seb and Emma story was sweet. They had parted years earlier after unforseen circumstances. To reunite years later renewing the love that they shared. A few little bumps tried to hinder it. But love prevailed. Looking forward to reading others in the series.
She lost her eyesight, so she ran from him. He can't figure out why she left. He falls into a bad crowd, and now everyone is in danger. Very good clean romance.

I've liked some of the author's other books in this series, but found this one very bland.
I liked both characters individually, but their romance was every trope possible. When one misunderstanding is resolved, another starts over the same topic...literally like 3 times. Same with the main "outside" story - so many repeats of the same thing: bad guy putting H's loved ones in danger, H's shame, H's anger, etc., etc.
Thrown in was 3 chapters about the main character in the next book that had no bearing on the plot in any form. It really felt like the author wrote a short story and was told to expand it and was out of ideas. So she repeated the same story multiple times and then threw in a good 10% of the book being a preview of her next book.
This story tells the interesting story of a blind heroine and a broken hero. The adventures they experience kept me wondering how they'd get to their happy ending. I didn't want to stop reading. There are a few typos but it's not bad enough that it ruined the story. If you enjoy clean, sweet, historical romance with a healthy dose of adventure, then this book might be a good one for you.
This is a great story. When Seb’s heart was broken by Emma two years ago he ran. Then he wakes up far from home, beaten and left for dead by the thugs his ex boss sent to kill him. Finding Emma as his caregiver was a dangerous surprise. Now he has put her in danger just by being in her home. The realization of why she left becomes obvious to him. Will they be able to get away and find happiness together?
A suspenseful and inspirational story of finding redemption and love for one cowboy who has faced trials and trauma. Lacy Williams once again spins a incredible journey into the lives of one family's journey out west and their lives on a ranch. Her characters are real and they face unbelievable struggles but manage to survive with their faith in God and their love for one another. This dramatic series is one of the best I've ever read.
She shows up on the doorstep nearly beaten to death. Emma has loved him since she was a teen . but between her secret and his, the mystique grows. I loved this book and how family helped in forgiveness.
Oh the pain that Seb put himself through after Emma ran from his love. Fears also can make poor choices if we allow our fear to lead us. Trust in God to do it his way.
This story was great from page 1 to the end. Lacy Williams did a wonderful job.writing this book. She kept the suspense all through the book. The two main characters were great, too. Thank you, Lacy
Some mistakes are so large they are hard to recover from. They must be paid for. Are there sins a family can't forgive?. Highly recommended for all readers. My least favorite.
I'm totally enjoying this series and getting to know all the White siblings. I loved Seb and Emma’s journey to love. Theirs is a second chance romance that has a lot of twists and turns to get them to their HEA. A captivating read.
Seb and Emma rekindle a flame that never went out. Evil is in the world and tried to hurt them but them came through it and found their love for each other again. Great read. Big D
I enjoyed Seb and Emma's book. At times, it truly had me at the edge of my seat! Tis funny how acquaintances can turn into loved ones and how the love never leaves.
Great tale of family, love, devotion, and determination in the midst of trials and hardship, while also providing an insight into life and hardship in those times.
