Brown Girl Book Geek Review
I think this is my favorite story I’ve read from A.C. Taylor. The characters and storylines showed just how good her writing capabilities are. Troy and Syd were super cute. I loved how they waited until what they both felt was the right time to take their relationship to the next level, and no I don’t mean the sex. Trust, there was plenty of that hotness taking place. And I loved their relationships with their families, well for the most part. But I won’t go into detail there. I’ll let y’all find out those juicy details yourselves.
There were a few storylines that I felt like we should have gotten just a little more closure on. The cousins and their relationships with their parents. The whole Jones’ family and their situation. I felt like I was left hanging just a little bit. However, none of that took away from the overall body of work.
Keeping my fingers crossed that we get a few stories about some of the secondary characters! I’d read any of those in a heartbeat.

Loved it!
I truly enjoyed this story! Sydnee and Troy seemed so perfect at the beginning and I was waiting for the drama to unfold. lol. What I loved the most was that Sydnee was honest with Troy and even though he was upset, he couldn’t stay mad at Sydnee. Technically, they were in a, “situationship” during that time. Now I was not prepared for the whole issue with Thomas and Dani. That had to be a lot of baggage to walk around with. Thomas got off too easy & for him to act so nonchalant about it made me so mad! He’s the worst kind of person. I also loved that Sydnee and Troy were so close to their families. While this was a love story, there was some drama that I was not prepared for lol. The characters were great and the flow of the book was so good. I couldn’t stop reading it. ❤️

A few bumps along the way.....
Troy and Syndee's love story was good. It had its bumps along the way but they finally became official and engaged by the end. Syndee's brother had some serious issues and needed some professional help. I was glad that Troy broke the silence about the almost rape of Dani at dinner so it was out in the open. The family needed to heal from something that could have been tragic to Dani's life. Dani suffered a lot from it even as an adult she could not muster up enough energy to be around her brother.
Troy and Melody's upbringing by Gram G I think was very honorable. She took care of her grandkids as if they were her own kids. I absolutely loved Gram G's personality. She gave it to them straight but protected them at all costs.
Another great read, I would definitely recommend.

No plot. Secrets and lies.
I usually don't read stories that don't have a detailed description and this book is the reason why. There wasn't really a plot to this story so it made it a hard read for me. Sometimes writers have storylines that are unfinished and underdeveloped and that's what this story felt like. There were too many holes in the characters story lines and lose ties. It felt like I started watching a Tyler Perry show mid season and it ended on a season finale cliffhanger. The main characters initial long distance drama wasn't strong enough to keep the story interesting so there where other issues thrown in and that messed with the whole book in my opinion. Had potential but needs a direction and major editing.

The Best Is Yet To Come
I'm glad that Troy and Sydnee finally got it together. The didn't want a long distance relationship but were in one without the title until Troy relocated to her town. It was a hard pill for Troy to swallow what happened between Laith and Sydnee but that was before the established being in a relationship. I hope this isn't a standalone because I want to know what Troy and Sydnee are having, will Melody ever find her mother and a love of her own, will Dani find a love of her own, what will end up happening to Sydnee and Dani's brother Thomas who tried to force his way on his own sister, and will Laith find a love of his own.

Stories inspired by music are my favorite!
AC Taylor does such an amazing job telling cute meaningful stories, and this was no different. Stories inspired by music gives me all the feels. And who better than to be inspire by than Lauryn Hill!
Now Sydnee and Troy definitely worked my nerves at times though out the story, but they were young and so was their love. It and was nice to see them evolve.
I loved the attention to the other characters also. Dani and Melody has some stuff going on! I would love to read a story about Mel and Laith. And I know if there’s ever a story about Dani, it’s going to be fun and heartbreaking at the same time.

Power pack love story
This was quite a read. The love, the chemistry between them was so unbelievably, but for me the other stories with the story made the book for me.
If you don’t care for a multi layered story then this is not the book for you, but if you do this is the perfect read. I absolutely loved the layered relationship and the family disfunction and healing. And everyone needs a Gram G in their life.

Cute Story
I enjoyed reading Sydnee & Troy's story! They were definitely made for each other. They drove me crazy with all that "we aren't together" mess because they basically were together even though they lived in different states. Sydnee surprised me with what she did on her birthday, but I'm glad things were worked out. My only wish would have been to see Thomas get what was coming to him along with Aunt Rena. But enjoyed it anyway A.C.!

WORTH THE READ!!
Want a good laugh? Or better yet, MANY laughs? Read this book!! This book lets you see love, especially generational love!! Nothing like having your grandmother to talk to. Only thing I didn't like was there was too much profanity when speaking to parents and grandparents. We should respect our parents and grandparents, no matter what. Find a better way to get the point across without disrespect! I promise we'll still laugh!!

This was so good. A bit tricky in the begining with the whole been together for a year but not officially even though he was catching a flight to see her every week or second week, and she sleeps with another person while he's away.
Things turn around was so good and their relationship grew stronger. The family issues we didn't know much about added depth to the dynamics that come off stiff in the begining. It's a good read.

Lovely story
Great read as usual troy was always had first with her and she was a little preserved with the relationship. Still don't know what made her have a one night stand that could've messed up everything they were building. I still wonder what happened to her brother when the truth came out. Also if melodies was giving laith a try other than just friends.

Sydnee was love
It was easy to love Sydnee Jones, even with all the negatively going on in her life, she had the real thing. The drama was plentiful in supply, and the story kept me engaged throughout with highly emotional parts. Her character spoke to me clearly. A lovely story worth every page.

So cute!!!
I loved the journey of these two. There were a few plot twist that made the story even more interesting. Their whole relationship was beautiful to me and something I would love to experience. All the characters developments were well thought out and intentional. I really like Troy and Sydnee and I hope I can get an update in the future.

Soulmates For Real
I know people just look at what's written as fiction, but sometimes there is some truth to the words you pen. My soulmate found me and 2 weeks after dating I was married. 36 years of life and love in March. I hope this story gives hope to some young single woman. Excellent story and character development.

I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for Troy and Sydney’s story and now I’m a little sad that it’s over. Those two right there! Just so much heart and passion for each other despite the obstacles. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to overcome those obstacles, but I am so glad they were. Now can we please get a hea for Dani and Melody!

Loving Sydnee Jones
Sydnee & Troy are relationship goals. Her sister Dani has a lot of issues to deal with, but still cool peeps. I think Troy's cousin Melody is so far out there. Not to sure 💘 is looking for her or vice versa. All in all, a very good book by author A. C. Taylor, as expected!

Nothing like a good family bond!
I think this is my favorite book by this author! I loved Sydnee and Troy's bond! Also Dundee and Dani's sisters relationship. Gram G was my favorite person in this book. I like how real the author make her stories. Read this book, you won't be disappointed!

So glad Troy & Sydnee finally got it together they were meant to be together. I felt so bad for Dani but was glad when it finally came out. I loved the brother/sister bond that Troy & Melody had even though they were cousins. Great read!

The amount of secrets and boundary crossings this book had made my head spin. I dislike characters that ask for things with their whole chest and when presented with them they backtrack 😩. The MMC was good. The FMC annoyed me regularly.

That’s how I feel after finishing this. Just full of goodness and light. Sydnee has me all the way phased at her for a minute but AC made me love her again. Great story!
