Our minds have a secret passage into this life unlived. It’s beautiful how we design an entire universe with such little experience where consequences are just moments. Here, memories drawn from our fantasies come true. We are the people whom we have always wanted to be; the relationships that don’t exist there, exist here. At the confluence of everyone’s paradigms is where reality begins, and we accept it. The longing to live is surreal. Art helps you get there quickly. The photographs arrayed in this book are windows to the soul of the writing, and they will only make sense when placed together. I invite you to come along with me on this journey, a journey where I will pull you back through the crevices of my wall to show you how I broke it, we will walk with our fingers entwined into a world and feel what time could not heal. With your permission, let me make you feel some love, some passion and some hurt today. You were created to feel all of that too.

One of the greatest qualities of the best poetry is its potential to strike deep into readers while remaining both highly personal and intimate to the poet. One Galaxy Old by Rashmi Raghunath is one of the finest examples of this delicate balance. This debut collection of 75 pages is very immersive as it offers the most emotional ride through the tough landscapes of love, longing, heartbreak, and restoration.

Raghunath's poetry is a whiff of fresh air amidst often-repetitive verses that constitute modern verse. Working well beyond these rather basic and short formulations she weaves deep and touching stories that can stun even the most stringent of literary critics. Each poem in this series testifies to great depths in both literariness and emotional depth.

The accompanying photographs in One Galaxy Old add a different and enriching measurement to the poems. These snap shots do not work simply as illustrations but are critical elements of the narrative, enhancing its emotional impact: what is seen creates a symbiotic relationship with textual elements to offer a holistic and immersive experience for the reader.
.
What distinguishes this collection is Raghunath's ability to seize the complexity of human feelings, relationships. Her reflections upon depression, desolation, and the quest for splendor when all seems hopeless are at one time relatable and cathartic. The poet stands naked with her honesty and vulnerability but invites the readers through the pleasure of analysing her poetry into their own emotional depths—a personal, universal experience. While poems are not shied away from the gloomy aspects of human experience, they also do provide moments of solace and beauty. It is this balance that will keep readers engaged for its entirety, feeling the highs and lows with the poet.
.
The book is itself a visual treat for the aesthetically-minded. The print has been done so excellently that it raises the photographs to make every page a work of art by itself. This attention to the details in presentation reflects consideration.

Reading this book felt like unlocking a secret passage into an unlived life, where a universe is spun from fleeting experiences and consequence-free moments. The author masterfully transforms fantasies into vivid memories, creating a space where we become who we’ve always wanted to be and form relationships that only exist in dreams. The photographs are not just images but windows into the soul of the writing, each one intensifying the themes of love, passion, and pain. This journey through art and narrative is an invitation to feel deeply, to explore the crevices of human emotion, and to heal in ways time alone cannot.

The poetry works in symbiotic harmony with the author’s images, which I confess I am not prepared to review. This combination amplifies the effect of the poems. Her poetry has made a comfortable home for itself in my heart, and it will stay there going forward. Additionally, the poet did a really good job of describing each feeling. Since everyone experiences these phases of life, they are relatable to all people.

It’s easy enough even for a novice to grasp. This might be a wonderful alternative for anyone who wants to explore this genre and see whether it works for them. It’s simple to observe the depth of feelings, which are probably typical of those who are utterly in love. Overall, Rashmi Raghunath is a rising star among modern Indian English authors, and her debut book demonstrates her enormous poetic potential.

One Galaxy Old: A collection of poems and photographs by Rashmi Raghunath

Pages: 75
Genre: Poetry
Ratings: 5/5⭐️

One Galaxy Old by Rashmi Raghunath is a collection of beautifully written poems with some photographs to complement those poems in a very well knit manner. Rashmi Raghunath's debut poetry collection offers a surprising depth that transcends the clichés of unrequited love. The poems within reveal a profound exploration of despair, desolation, and the search for beauty within moments of hopelessness.

What sets this collection apart is the poet's ability to not only convey intense emotions but also to reflect on the complexities of human relationships and self-awareness. Accompanied by the author's own photographs, which I'm admittedly unqualified to critique, the poems create a symbiotic relationship that enhances their impact. Overall, Rashmi Raghunath's inaugural work showcases her immense potential as a poet and marks her as a rising star among contemporary Indian English writers.

"Life would have been so easy,
If death wasn't so difficult."

Sometimes poetries are what you want. They act like the voice in your head, slowly lulling you to be calm and gentle, that it's okay if you're hurt, you will heal with time. "One Galaxy Old" is a collection of such words and sentences that will touch your heart in a way you least expect it to yet maintains it's individual presence in the back of your mind. It leaves a lingering aftereffect of a poetry well penned.

"You hurt me
So, I went on to hurt someone else
And that someone else loved me more
Now I don't know what hurts more."

This is a short collection of poetry revolving around love, loss, life, and grief but more than that, hope. From the very beginning I have enjoyed the short form of expression in this book. The poems are concise yet powerful, capturing deep emotions and universal experiences in just a few lines. Although it's a very small book, it left a lasting impression on me. Each piece resonates with authenticity and raw honesty, inviting you to reflect on your own journeys through love and loss. The poet's ability to convey such profound sentiments with simplicity is truly remarkable. And it seems it came from the simple writing which nonetheless carried so much weight. It was quick and god read for me. Recommended to poetry lovers.

"I've tried to open my heart
By filling you in these pages
Only for you to see
How I see you."

‘The fragrance of self-heal is so pure.
And then you slowly feel the pain basking you in its vault.
You write and you write
Because the pain is Gratifying.’

‘One Galaxy Old’ by Rashmi Raghunath is a collection of heartwarming poems with astounding photographs that leave us craving for more poems. Writing is a therapeutic experience and Rashmi with her words, gives readers a beautiful reading experience. With the themes of love, loss, hope and memories, this book is an emotional journey, no less than a rollercoaster ride.

Her vibrant and lyrical writing style makes the readers fall in love with her words. Each poem is deep, and each picture has its own story which she brilliantly weaves in the form of poems. The poems are enchanting and make us fall in love with Love all over again.

What I loved was the little moments she captured and shared with us bringing a smile to our faces. That hurt, that love, that passion, she takes us on the journey of love, on the journey of warmth.

‘Our hearts
One galaxy old
Have revolved around each other
To feel that single moment of eternity.’

What makes this book ravishing is her simplicity. The way she makes a simple moment look precious and beautiful with her words makes this book special. Poetry lovers, do read this one, it is a mesmerizing journey altogether.

You Hurt me
So, I went on to hurt someone else
And that someone else loved me more
Now I don’t know what hurts more.

Soul Stirring and Heart Rendering! These emotions perfectly sum up my experience of reading the collection of poems which seem like analects, leaving me with a philosophical thought on the destructive and healing properties of that thing called love.

The author did a brilliant job in bringing out the beauty and the bestiality of love wherein it has the power to move mountains for the sake of your beloved as well as can bring you down to your knees with the terrible emotional conflict.

One of the best features I loved about this book is the aesthetically placed pictures which is both vulnerable and powerful. These pictorial depictions add allure to the poetic verses which are an amalgamation of vigour and susceptibility of longing and love.

Overall, I was enamoured by the quality of writing which strummed the strings of my heart and enraptured my mind. Each poem had the power to make me feel emotions which I thought were subdued in the recesses of my conscience.

"Poetry is language at its most distilled and most powerful." -Rita Dove

Whenever I read the quote mentioned above, it genuinely makes me happy about my fondness for the most powerful medium of literature "Poetry". And today, I would like to talk about one such book,

'ONE GALAXY OLD'

A poetic masterpiece that offers an introspective poetry collection that acknowledges the power of imagination and the yearning for a life.

Certain poems in the collection underscore the focus on wish fulfillment and the emotional resonance it evokes. The addition of photographs adds another layer to the collection. Described as "windows to the soul of the writing," they promise a deeper connection with the poet's emotions and experiences.

Whenever I read poetry I get to know something more than I knew before about emotions and life. Poetry is like the window that manages to get you a glimpse of feelings.

I liked the lyrical approach of the author it's pretty elegant, you get to peek into the heart of the poet through her words and it just puts a smile on your face as you read more and more.

A must read for sure !!

One Galaxy Old is a remarkable compilation of poetry and stunning images that was compiled by Rashmi Raghunath. Due to the fact that the book is so aesthetically attractive, I was unable to highlight anything because I did not want to mar the experience. Even if you read the same sentence over and over again, you will still experience the same kind of connection that you did when you read it for the first time. This is because the emotional grasp of the line is so astounding. In this book, I couldn't help but feel like I was reading Rupi Kaur's poetry, and I say that as a compliment. I really like the print quality because it brought out the images much more on their own.

In light of the fact that this is Rashmi Raghunath's first novel, she certainly did an excellent job of blending visual and emotional connections. Her poetry has carved out a cozy space in my heart, and from this point forward, it will reside there forever. If poetry is something that you are passionate about, then you should definitely read it and consider adding it to your collection.

"What have we done
To deserve love
That is not
Kind?"

When love destroys someone the person still thinks that only the very same love can heal them. They hope, they wait but the universe doesn't bring that love back. Such a book is "One Galaxy Old" by Rashmi Raghunath. It's a collection of touching poems and photographs.

The poems are beautiful. I felt the emotions under each and every word. Love and life can be many things. It can be soothing, it can be burning, it can be hurting. And the poet has described each emotion in a very pleasing way. Everyone can relate to them; as an human being everyone goes through these stages in life.

The photographs in the book make the poems and the reading experience even more meaningful. The book is very short but the vibe it gives off are impactful. I absolutely loved the book. Last but not the least the cover is compelling and the page quality is really good. I would definitely recommend the book to everyone as a light but worthwhile read.

One thing that has always amazed me about poetry is how it can be so relatable, even while being very personal and intimate to the person who has penned it. How it can be so cathartic not only for the writer but also for the one reading it. One Galaxy Old by Rashmi Raghunath is a case in point.

It is a beautiful collection of poetry and photographs that takes you on a journey through multiple emotions of lust, love, longing, heartbreak, and healing. The photographs complement and enrich the poems beautifully.

This is not the kind of poetry that you find on Instagram with sloppy writing and just four lines; it goes deeper and is so well-written that if you put it on the test of literary criticism, it passes with flying colors.

The book provides a wholesome reading experience that immerses you and makes you feel a plethora of emotions. If you are a Pinterest junkie or a sucker for aesthetics, you will love this book even more! It deserves a place on the bookshelf of every poetry lover. I wholeheartedly recommend this poetry collection to one and all.

Poetry is something I don't read all too often, but lately, I am into it and this one is wow!

The collection impacted me on many levels. After finishing this book, not only has my appreciation for poetry increased significantly, but Raghunath's words and life lessons were truly amazing and will stick with me for a long time. I invite you to attempt this even if you don't read poetry (as I mistakenly believed I did). I promise that you'll have second thoughts!

This collection of introspective poems takes readers into a world where the distinction between fiction and reality is blurred. This book is an investigation into the human mind, a voyage into the "life unlived," where we are invited to go through the emotional and imaginative landscapes by Raghunath's poetic skill.

The collection's core theme is our creation of parallel universes within our imaginations, areas where we can be the people we've always wanted to be and cultivate connections that don't exist in real life. Every single poem of One Galaxy Old takes you on a journey of introspection and connection.

"sometimes it's so beautiful
to be destroyed completely
by love."

"One Galaxy Old", a collection of poems and photographs is a kind of book that I always wanted to add to my poetry collection.

The theme of the book revolves around heart-break and one's self-discovery. Each poem shines like a galaxy full of emotions, and a sting of loss.

The poetess took me on a journey of self-exploration, confronting the shadows of past love, the fragility of hope, and the boundless potential of the human spirit.

The poems feel so personal and universally relatable that makes it a mus-read for everyone. And people who have gone through the brutality of love must pick this one.

If I talk about the book quality then it's amazing. It's worth adding to our bookshelves. Full of pictures, good page quality, fonts everything makes it aesthetic.

Just one thing I didn't like the cover quality 😗 It's should have been matte not glossy.

The book One Galaxy Old written by Rashmi Raghunath is a collection of poetry which will make the readers heart delightful. Also not to forget about the pictures which the author has compiled on the left hand side of each page which goes adorned by the readers.

Each and every poem was very unique from each other and it gave me so much of aesthetic vibes that it left me speechless. And the pictures which the author had added to book it became cherry on top.

Though this is the debut work of the author Rashmi Raghunath she has remarkably done a very excellent job from the way she has penned down the poems and the pictures, the quality of the pages eveything seems to be perfect in my eyes. I really enjoyed reading this book and would like you guys also to check it out. The cover page was incredibly beautiful that it made me gaze at it for a quite long time.

Warm like a hug,
As special as a smile,
Beautiful like the dawn,
Perpetual as a promise,
Sacred as love,
I knew it had to be

Book: One Galaxy Old
Author: Rashmi Raghunath
Genre: Children's Book
Publisher: Notion Press
Pages: 78

One Galaxy Old by Rashmi Raghunath is a collection of poems and photographs that show the readers the heartstrings and the heartbreak of love and relationships, the inner feelings, longings, and emotions attached to them.

The poems in the collection find their place in the hearts of the readers, and some lines can make one think about incidents from their own life and experiences, and that's the beauty and the power that this collection holds. Though I might not be the best person to comment on photographs, I felt that many poems and photographs did not align with each other. But as both the mediums tell different stories to different people, I believe that it might tell you a story that I wasn't able to hear.

Overall, this is a collection that I loved and cherished, and every poem felt connected. It's a highly recommended book from my side and if you are looking forward to reading some poems around love, relationships, heartbreak, solitude and emotional attachments, this is a perfect match.
