A fast-paced, funny autobiography that includes some electrifying first-hand accounts of great Australian fights, this glimpse into a little of the indulgent world that opened to a few successful boxers reveals the frustration felt by those Australians who endured racial indignities and also some of the horror and tragedy of the boxing ring.
Was a very interesting book to read as I knew nothing and hadn’t heard about Keith Saunders before reading I just found the book at the shops about boxing and went from there. It’s a great insight into the way things were in the 50-70’s in Australia and how aboriginals were treated and just the vast difference in boxing nowadays compared to then when you could have fights every few weeks or every month. Keith is very honest in the way he talks about how his life had its ups and downs and how he was at certain hard times in his life.
