Return of the Warrior - This one had a quiet tone to it, but it worked for Roz and Mac. Both are seeking out something and it seems they are finding it with each other.

A Family Affair - This one was so much fun, loved how the boys created chaos and how Angela managed to surprise Aiden. Loved the present Aiden and the rest of the LNF guys had for John!

Oh, Louie - I liked that this one showed how families struggled while their loved ones are away serving our country. Of course BB seemed to find herself with a full plate, but maybe that was a good thing to keep her mind off of everything that seemed to be happening. Loved that Lincoln wasn't thrown by any of the new things in his life when he came home.

Christmas Raine - Out of all the stories this one seemed to hit me the hardest, with full out tears running down my cheeks. I loved Raine, loved that she really wanted more for the guys and was so kind to them. Her bringing Christmas to them was a great idea, but Haven managed to up the games not even trying. I find I'm very intrigued to read a full book with Raine and Noah and look forward to getting my hands on it.

Loved catching up with previous characters. The first three stories are about couples we've already met. The 4th story which shot up to my favorite story of the book was a little preview into Noah and Raine's upcoming book Catalyst. I cannot wait till their story!!

Wow, we got quite a lot in this book. We got to catch up with Mac and Roz from "Flat Line". Roz lives up on a mountain in West Virginia and we met her when her friend needed a place to hide when her life was in danger but Roz was closed off and greets people at the door with a shotgun. She has suffered trauma and she is trying to regain control of her life. She is living with Mac who agreed to live on the mountain with her to keep her safe long after the danger they were in had passed. Roz is a strong character and I enjoyed reading more about her story, she deserved a happy ending as she battles her demons and has hope finally for a brighter future. She is an amazing character and I am glad we got to know more about her and Mac. Mac is wonderful as well, he is patient and kind and supports her in a way that is gentle and unobtrusive. He gives her whats she needs even if she doesn't quite know what that is.

The next short story catches us up on Aiden and Angela as they visit John, Shannon, Wyatt, and Caden at Christmas time. Aiden has one heck of a surprise for John and well Angela has one of her own as well. This story tugged at my heartstrings a lot. The brothers bonded over the few memories they had of their horrible childhood and it was fun to see the twins again and how much they have grown. There are some funny moments with Caden in this story and we get to see a few other LNF members and their wives. This story brought tears to my eyes and I hope there is more to come.

Next, we get to check in with B.B., Linc, Frankie and well two special gifts that B.B. is given while Linc is deployed. The mission was supposed to be only a few weeks but it turned into months and now Linc isn't sure if he will be home for Christmas. B.B. struggles with loneliness but she also discovers what it means to have a team behind her, one that knows what she is going through and one that can help. This story also pulled at my heartstrings. I loved the gift that both B.B. and Frankie were given but you have to read it to find out why. As always Frankie provided some laughs with a little help. I hope we hear more of their story from Healing Hearts.

The last story introduces us to nurse Raine Walters. She will be featured along with Noah in the next "Dogs of War" story, "Catalyst". Raine cares for the men who have been tortured in the previous "Dogs of War" series. She is a small dynamo who wants to bring a bit of Christmas to her floor. Her mom and dad were poor and yet her mom found a way to make Christmas special for her and she wants to give a bit of that Christmas magic to the residents on her floor. What Raine does with Noah's help as well as some special help from a patient named Haven is nothing short of a Christmas miracle that will bring tears to your eyes. This story needs to be read with tissues at hand. We already know about Noah from "Retribution" and now we are introduced to Raine, an amazing character with a heart the size of well Texas.

This is a wonderful gift to the fans who love the series that Ms. Madden writes. Thank you.

Return of the Warrior:

I have to confess I went back to read Flat Line to refresh my memory about how Mac and Roz met. I'm very glad I did because they really did need to have their story continued from there.

Roz is a very strong woman and Mac has a great deal of respect for her. She's been through so many traumatic experiences and she's starting to deal with her issues.

Mac has been with her since before the last attack and he was pleasantly surprised when she asked him to return to the cabin with her. Now it's almost Christmas and he's made some changes to himself that Roz has noticed.

Encouraged, a plan is put into place for the holidays and fun ensues. I loved their journey into something more than comfortable friendship and seeing old friends.

Family Affair:

Once again I decided I had to re-read the book where these two met. Chaos was a favorite of mine. I'm also going to have to go back to Lost and Found Pieces 1. It's been a while and I love these characters so very much.

It's Christmas at John and Shannon's. The twins Wyatt and Caden are growing fast and at eighteen months old into a lot. This holiday is very different for Aiden in that he isn't hiding in the shadows like before.

His relationship with Angela has also grown and flourished in this time and sharing this holiday with her just brings them closer.

There's more than one surprise that brought tears to my eyes.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many of my favorite couples and sharing this holiday with them.

Oh, Louie:

I've loved Lincoln and BB since I met them Healing Home. With Lincoln now deployed she'd found a closer friendship with Mary. and some of the other wives and girlfriends.

Her loneliness was pulling at her and when Mary calls about a Frenchie puppy in need, she immediately embraces the challenge.

Now nursing the tiny puppy to a point where he can have the needed surgery was just the beginning. She also finds she is pregnant but can't tell Lincoln until she hears from him.

Between planning the changes required for the baby and missing Lincoln, this book had me crying and impressed.

Lincoln's homecoming is the best! A perfect holiday read.

Christmas Raine:

This one has me wanting time to fly. Raine is a nurse caring for the more recovered men that had been rescued. There are serious challenges here, but she needs to bring some Christmas into the starkness of the environment.
Her boss, Dr. Elizabeth Wilkes has no problem with her doing it and even makes it part of the budget.

With her plans settled, all she needs to do is get through her shift. She first encounters Noah as she's rushing to change after getting drenched helping a patient. The second time as she hurries back to calm yet another charge. But it's their third encounter that's the most interesting.

With the decorations, an unusual occurrence, a tearful and beautiful story unfolds.

The interactions with patients especially Haven, the first kiss from Noah and so much more has me wanting the next book in the Dogs of War, 'Catalyst'.

Lost and Found Pieces 2 by J. M. Madden will give you three story wrap up plus a teaser into Catalyst the next Dogs of War book which is Noah and Raine's story. I loved them all and highly recommend this book.

Return of the Warrior is an update on Roz and Mac from Flat Line. I loved how Mac is letting Roz heal on her own terms but just being there. Even though she doesn't seem to understand why the cat wants to give her comfort I'm so proud of her working a little at the clinic and getting off the mountain. When she decides to go shopping for Christmas I rejoiced with her on this progress.

A Family Affair has John and Shannon plus the twins and Aiden and Angela as a new family with a little surprise thrown in for them all. As Aiden remembers how being a foster child is totally different than what John, Shannon, Angela and boys are sharing with him. His worries about the drug he was tested on when he opens his gift from her but it will be his gift to John that will have your grabbing a tissue or two.

Christmas Raine will give you a teaser as of Noah and Raine plus the men who have been found so far by Elizabeth Wilkes and how they are doing. I can't wait!! As for Raine's gift to the men she cares for one her floor the gift of Christmas will mean more than she'd ever hope especially when Haven gives them his vision of Christmas for everyone again grab your tissues because you'll need them.

This book consists of 4 holiday stories based on couples from previously written books. Mac and Roz made their debut in Flat Line, but weren't main characters. It was nice getting a peek at their relationship and hopefully setting readers up for more of them in the future. John and Shannon are my favorites from the Lost and Found series. The love that they share with their family and friends is so heartwarming. This one brought tears to my eyes. Having John's brother Aiden, from Dogs of War, share the holiday with them was super special. Lincoln and BB's story was full of surprises. I can't imagine being in BB's shoes, but all ends up well. My favorite story was meeting Noah and Raine. This was a wonderful introduction to them and I cannot washout for their book. As usual JM Madden has done a superb job of portraying the lives of our military, both current and former, and the impact their service has on themselves and those they love.

I loved this catch up novel, and you get to meet a new character. Even though it is after Christmas, this book of Christmas stories will put you in a warm and fuzzy mood. Mac and Roz’s love story made me want more. JM Madden has an way of writing characters so that you really love them! A Family Affair brings you more John, Shannon, Aiden, and Angela. It is a perfect heart warming story about family! I have a feeling that the Palmer Twins will keep us smiling for years. BB and Lincoln from Healing Home leave us with a wonderful deployment story. The adorable dogs will keep BB on her toes. You are in for a great surprise here! Lastly, we finally get a glimpse of Noah and Raine. I love the Dogs of War series. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next! This book will put a smile on your face and happiness in your heart.

Loved this book of short stories! Three fabulous stories where we visit with old friends and one giving us an exciting introduction to the characters for the next Dogs of War instalment, Catalyst coming in April.

The first gives us a glimpse at Roz and Mac, whom we met in Flat Line. Will we see more of them in future?
In the second story we reconnect with some Lost and Found favourites and Aiden and Angela from Chaos on Christmas Eve.
The third one has BB and Frankie adding to their family while Lincoln is deployed throughout most of the story (Frankie is a dog, not a ménage-à-trois!)
The fourth and final story introduces us to the facility where those rescued in the previous DoW book are being cared for and the characters that will hopefully will feature in many more books to come. Can’t wait!

First off, I would've bought this if only to hear more from John Palmer. I love me some crabby Gunny!
I love stories that continue and evolve. I want to be able to follow characters from the beginning and see what is going on in their lives.
Roz and Mac made me cry. They are still together, and still healing in their own way. Even though she people might not have liked that it didn't go anywhere or have a happy ending, I was happy to see that they were together on the mountain.
I totally forgot about BB and Linc! This was such a great read. I loved the surprises! And I can't wait for that series to continue and read what's in-store for Caroline.
Last but not least, Raine and Noah. This little snippet has whetted my appetite for their story, but I have to wait until April! Hello one-click buying!
This was a must have if you are a LNF fan!

Reading this book is like visiting old friends and catching up while also being introduced to new potential friends and watching their relationships blossom. J.M. Madden gives us four stories that will make you smile and also have you tearing up. I can't pick a favorite, but A Family Affair was like coming home because we get to see our favorite LNF characters come together again and celebrate Christmas while learning more about brothers John and Aidens past.
I have been waiting on Noah's story since Retribution, so I was excited to see him meeting Raine and look forward to the continuation of the Dogs of War Series.
This is a great read. I received this book as an ARC and give my review voluntarily.

Oh my, when I got this book I wasn’t sure what to expect. Especially, since I had only read a couple of the stories in the Lost and Found series.
But once I read the first page, I knew it was going to be a touching, at times heartbreaking but also heartwarming set of stories by this talented author.
Absolutely loved Return of the Warrior. A story about overcoming fears , mostly thanks to a very especial man in Mac.
A Family Affair is about surviving a horrible childhood and making a better life.
Last but not least , Oh, Louie, is just as good.
At times you might need a hankie or two, but a happy ending is one you’ll find.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

So many favorite couples enjoying Christmas. Madden has given four novellas, each a different couple from various series. The last one has a new couple we can expect to see in an upcoming book. A new reader could probably enjoy them but not fully understand the characters and the meaning of the novella. However it's easy to get hooked on these lovable tough guys a new reader could have plenty of new books to add to the TBR. I definitely recommend reading her Lost and Found series first then enjoy the newest, Dogs of War series. These are just really pleasant Christmas time stories that can be read at anytime. I received an early copy and provided an unbiased voluntary review.

Madden made me cry happy and sad tears. And made me smile. The collection is all wonderful, but I think my favourite stories are the first and last. The first follows up on secondary characters from Flat Line, characters I adored and was delighted to get some resolution with. It’s a lovely story about survival and fighting your way back. The last one was an incredibly moving Christmas story following up on the Dogs of War. It is so beautiful and inspiring. I highly recommend this collection of short stories, but it will give most satisfaction to those who’ve read at least some of the early Lost and Found novels and at least the prequel (usually free) to the Dogs of War books.

Love catching up with old friends and previewing new ones! I love how J.M. Madden continues to give us little updates on the men and women in in her books as well as a preview of an upcoming book. In A Family Affair we see the original LNF crew as well as Aiden from the Dogs of War series. In Oh, Louie we catch up with BB,Lincoln and Frankie from Healing Home. Mac and Roz from Flat Line needed a true start to their story and it was wonderful! Last but not least we get a preview of Catalyst in the Dogs of War series. Can't wait to read the story of Noah and Raine!

How does she do this!? Amazing book, she never lets us down. I love how she can bring us into her world, and show us more about the people we love too. Holiday romance, and a way to catch up with the people we already met. Thank you J.M. for another great book, and thank you for showing us more on the ones we got to know through your books.

Love these stories!

JM Madden writes some of the best stories I have ever read. They are some of the most achingly heartwarming, yet the premise behind them is so incredibly difficult. They are so evocative, representing clearly what my literature professors called "man's inhumanity to man".

Like dessert after a good meal

I loved the little “pieces” of life we get to see in these short stories. They are little treats for those who have read all the stories and want to know how the characters are doing. I think my favorite was John, Aiden and family.

Pieces 2–Lost and Found

It was interesting reading 3 different stories. I loved the one about John and Shannon and John getting a special gift from the people that make them a family.
Even though I didn’t really know the other characters, I enjoyed them too.

I love these little novellas! It's great to catch up with old characters and meet some new ones! I enjoyed Mac and Roz's story quite a bit, but I found myself wanting more once it was over! Aidan's story was very cute, but I was hoping for more John and Shannon. I really liked BB and Lincoln's story, even though I would have loved just a touch more with Lincoln home. Lastly, I really liked meeting Raine! I can't wait for her and Noah's story!

This is fun. It's always good to see how our friends celebrate the holidays. In this case, this reader appreciated new couples to look at, including Mac and Roz, Raine and Noah, and Aiden and Angela. New adventures are happening for everyone, too, from a double surprise for a homecoming SEAL, a long awaited venture into the outside world to a new relationship. There's also a look at the Lost and Found team and their families. Very enjoyable.
