Rate this book
Aaron Costa’s summer was all planned. Despite having to remodel the family lake house, it would be a vacation of sorts, and he had every intention of enjoying it—until the friend who was supposed to help him got injured and left him in a lurch. He decides to take the opportunity to bond with his son and hires Julian and his roommate, Malachi, to assist.

As a broke college student, Malachi could use the money, and spending the summer with Aaron for eye candy sounds like a dream. "Look but don’t touch" becomes his motto. But when Julian starts flaking on his responsibilities and Malachi and Aaron are forced to spend long hours alone together, their mutual attraction is impossible to resist.

Aaron can’t fight the temptation sexy Malachi presents. But more than their age difference stands in their way, not the least of which is Aaron’s semi-closeted status and the fact that he’s never openly discussed his sexuality with his son. He has no idea how Julian will react when he learns his father is not only gay, he’s also dating his best friend.

Woods, Screws & Nails was a smokin' sexy, fast-paced story with real depth and relationship development.

Aaron, 37, a successful contractor, is spending the summer renovating his parents' lake house. Needing an extra pair of hands (or two), Aaron hires his son, Julian, and Julian's roommate and best friend, Malachi, to help out. But with Malachi, Aaron gets more than he bargained for. The delicious, Brazilian 21-year-old is mature, works hard, and has a body made for licking all over.

But what happens when a father sleeps with his son's best friend who is 16 years his junior? Hot, steamy, wall-shaking action, that's what. Lord, the sex scenes in this book were some of the hottest I've ever read.

There's so much more to this book, though. The age difference works and is handled well. The dual POVs allow us to see each man's hesitations and desire. The summer fling turns into something deeper, and we are privy to the small moments (the lingering glances over coffee, the slow buildup of lust).

The only problem was Julian, Aaron's son, who was a selfish, immature, jealous punk. I was a little frustrated with Aaron for treating Julian like a golden egg and for allowing Jules to come between him and Malachi. And Julian's sudden change of heart felt abrupt and unearned.

That's a minor niggle though. This book worked on so many levels. It was funny and well written with interesting, complex characters and a lot of dirty fun. The ending was a bit tentative for me. I would love a short follow-up to see how these guys are doing.

The title of this book alone makes me laugh. And let's face it...that's a very nice back.

But once I read the book, the title makes perfect sense.

This was a super sweet, super sexy, quick and funny read. I'd consider it more novella length, as it was less than 200 pages.

Aaron is 37. He's not necessarily in the closet but he doesn't flaunt his sexuality. He doesn't discuss his sexual preferences, if someone asks, he tells but he doesn't offer it up. This includes his 21 year old son.

Aaron is spending a few months of the summer fixing up his parents lake house to get it ready to sell. He enlists the help of his son, Julian and his BFF and roommate Malachi. The few times Aaron has met Malachi, he's been attracted to the Brazilian.

So...imagine you're 21. You have no idea your dad is gay. And you walk in on him balls deep in your 21 year old roommate....

Holy jeez..

I'm not going to lie...it was still really HOT!

Anywho...Malachi liked his men a bit on the older side and he and Aaron really bonded over the wood, screws and nails. :)

Julian kind of flaked out on helping...choosing to party and hang out with chicks, allowing Aaron and Malachi to spend more time together and get to know each other.

But Aaron has to make things right with Julian, his son is his first priority. Even if that means he has to step back from Malachi.

I really enjoyed this one. It made me laugh. The characters were all great. It was super hot.

It's no secret that I love these two authors. They haven't disappointed me yet and they certainly didn't disappoint me this time. Woods, Screws, & Nails is the story of Malachi and Aaron. Malachi was offered a job renovating a home during the summer along with his roommate, Julian, under Julian's father, Aaron. Aaron, who was confused about his sexuality as a teenager, became a young father after a night of partying with his best friend. He thinks it's a great idea to hire his son and roommate, as this will give him the opportunity to spend extra time with his son. Only thing is- he never anticipated the strong attraction he would have towards Malachi and for Malachi to reciprocate those feelings- let me tell these two were haaaaawt!

 photo tumblr_mn6c0n19Y51r7okzdo1_400_zpsde0e52ed.gif

This was honestly just a fun read. I love stories where the characters have to sneak around and this one added extra spice by the MCs being a father and his son's friend. I love though that as hot and steamy as the story was, we were able to connect with the characters outside the bedroom as well. It wasn't just about the sex. I felt the story had a nice flow and appreciated that it was told from a dual POV. My only complaint would be that I would have liked a bit more story at the end but understood both authors' reasons for ending it how they did (plus, a lot of feelings stem from me being greedy and not wanting it to end). This was a 4.5 star read for me. If you're in the mood for a quick, fun, steamy read- then look no further! :)

3 Stars - Sugary sweet for even sweeter days...

A well executed "you get what you know you get" story in the genre of lighthearted M/M romance. 4:30 audiobooks hours well narrated by Paul Morey — Nicely told, yummy steamy, very easy listening M/M fluff.

*******************************************

Aaron Costa is a single (well shaped) gay "handyman" in his late thirties. He needs help for the summer and hires his 21 years old son Julian and Julian's handsome roommate, Malachi Pereriera, to assist to remodel the Costa family's lake house.

Young hardworking Mal is adorable tempting, Aaron is a sexy "real" man-MAN and they are booth drooling from day one. Pretty soon it begins to really bubbles & steam. Hot hot hot — and a few more or less complicated matters and relationship knots needed to solve.
 photo image_zpsv56gltra.jpeg

Predictable, somewhat ridiculously sugary cute
Not very believable but after all; hot, sweaty, shapely, muscular handymen are doubtless quite irresistible charming. Add a perfect goofy title: Wood, Screws & Nails. Easy to read but perhaps too easily forgotten. Nevertheless, four and a half "good enough" audiobooks hours in my (driving to work and back) life.

Aaron is 37 years old. He’s a successful man having his own contracting company. Aaron is gay, but partially in the closet since he’s a little quiet about his sexuality. Of course his son who’s 21 doesn’t know about it.

His parents want to sell the family’s house so he’s supposed to take care of the renovations. When his friend who was supposed to help him get injured, he decides to ask his son, Julian, to help him, especially since he wants to spend a little time with him.

Julian agrees, but he wants his roommate and best friend, Malachi to help too. So Aaron agrees...Aaron remember very well the sexy Brazilian young man since they met a few times over the years.

Malaki is a simple boy from a very simple family. He is grateful for the opportunity to work with Julian and Aaron. He really needs the cash and the fact that Aaron looks so good it’s a bonus. Malaki always liked his men older, anyway.

Both Aaron and Malaki have to remind themselves that a relationship is unacceptable since Aaron is older and Malaki is Julian’s best friend. They start to spend some time together, knowing each other and of course spending some time between the sheets. Everything changes when they start to have some feelings for each other and Julian finds out about their relationship.

I really liked this one. I liked how fast paced everything is. All characters are really great, lovable and even relatable and despite the short length they are well developed.

I truly enjoyed how Aaron and Malachi’s relationship progressed and the fact that “the think” between them wasn’t just about sex.
The sex scenes were of the charts hot! Really now, they were fantastic!
Julian was a little childish and annoying, but I liked him in the end. I liked his relationship with Aaron and how everything work out in the end.

The story was a little predictable, but still, I enjoyed it. Loved the dual POV!

If you want a sweet, sexy and funny at times read with great characters and terrific writing, I really recommend this one!

I already read the second book, so I thought I would give this one a try. Damn I'm glad I did. This was one sexy little read !!

 photo 9474828_zpspfiby6r9.gif

So... Aaron, 37, is the father of Julian who's 21. He has his own construction company and yes..you guesses right...he's gay. When Aaron was young he fooled around with his best friend some and the end result was Julian. They didn't stay together, but they are still best friends and they've raised Julian together. Julians mom has been in a relationship with another man for a very long time and they all get along really well. There is just one tiny little issue....Aaron never told his son he's gay (stupid stupid stupid)

Malachi (I hate that name btw) is Julians best friend and roommate. He's also 21 and yes you guessed right again....he's gay. He also has a major thing for older guys.

Aaron is spending the summer renovating his parents house at the lake and when his best friend Blake (book 2) calls and tells him he won't be able to come and help, Aaron calls his son Julian. He thinks it would be a perfect oppertunity to have some bonding time with his son.

Julian agrees, but wants to bring his best friend Malachi with him....Malachi needs the money and Aaron needs all the help he can get.

Well you know what happens next....instant attraction !!

Aaron tries to stay away at first because Malachi is only 21 and his sons best friend. But when Julian decides to party instead of work....that leaves Aaron and Malachi with a lot of alone time.
So these two start to heat up the sheets together.....and damn were they hot !!

 photo tumblr_m2pf0a6f2U1qdjm6ho1_500_zpspxyiumol.gif

After some sneaking around and having some really hot sex, they start having feelings for one another. They both know it's not meaningless fucking anymore.

One day they get a bit to bold and decide to make good use of he pooltable. Julian was not happy when he came in and got a nice view of his best friends ass....an ass occupied by his fathers dick !!

 photo 57416762_zpsllzdh480.jpg

Now I know Julian was acting like a whiny little bitch almost the entire time...and Aaron was a bit of a doormat where his son was concerned...but still, that shit was fucked up.

I think Julian had every right to be pissed of and traumatised. I would not want to walk in on my father like that...doens't even matter if it's with one of my male or my girlfriends. So Malachi's stupid reaction, saying it was non of Julians bussiness what they were doing...I call bullshit on that one. I also call bullshit on Malachi saying that Aaron didn't have to come out to his son, because it was his right to keep it a secret. But that's my personal opinion. How can you teach your kids not to lie, but do it yourself, also It makes it look like you're ashamed of who you are.

Things with Julian were fixed a bit to fast for my liking. It wasn't very realistic. One minute he's pissed off and the next he almost forces his dad on a plane to go after Malachi.

I would have enjoyed it more if it would have taken more time for Julian to forgive his dad. That may sound harsh, but I for one would not have forgiven my dad that fast for lying to me and sneaking aroud with my best friend. I also don't think I could forgive my best friend for not talking to me about it. Sure Julian was a bit of a brat, but this had nothing to do with that.

Anyway...now that I'm done ranting...I loved reading this one. It was very interesting and very nice on the steam !

4 stars from me :)

Wow, so is it just me? This isn't really Piper Vaughan, is it? This plodding, poorly written, lacking all chemistry, juvenile, dry, bland story? Maybe I just got out of bed on the wrong side this morning. Because, no.

What a refreshing, crazy, funny, thrilling, Story!!.

Aaron Costa. he's in his mid-thirties. a very successful contractor. planning on remodeling his parents "lake house". his friend who supposed to help him out. got injured. But it became the best opportunity to spend his summer vacation/job with his 21-years old son Julian. of course hiring julian and his roommate Malachi to assist him. And that summer for Aaron was so thrilling...

Aaron has met Malachi few times in the past. He did admired Malachi, and had a bit of attraction toward him. NOW that they are about to spend the whole summer break with each other. Those attractions that Aaron had for Malachi are becoming strong and much more!!..

Malachi always preferred his "Lover's" to be older than him!!!

description

At first. i was having a little hard time comprehending the ATTRACTION between these two. NOT because of the age difference!! because of Aaron being your BFF's dad.. YEAH!!

Despite the Awkwardness.. Their "Fooling around" was HOT.and i enjoyed it!!
description

julian little by little was ignoring his duties. going out for parties. leaving all the work to Aaron and Malachi. and other stuff (if you know what i mean)!!!

ON TOP OF ALL THAT. Julian never knew his father was gay!.
So when he witnesses a disturbing encounter between Aaron and Malachi!
Julian was having a WTF moment!...i seriously wanted to rub bleach on my eyes to forget that scene!!

Aaron knew that he neglected his son, With malachi understanding that. he backed off. But will their relationship continue??..

Nice hot hot hot story about Aaron, 37, a successful contractor, and Malachi, 21, Aaron's son roommate.
While working on renovating a family holiday house passion between them explodes.
Aaron's son's tantrums provide the required angst to make things harder for the two lovers. Hea guaranteed.
The "exotic" roots of the two MCs (Aaron's family is Italian, Malachi's is Brasilian) and the daddy kink (although only hinted) add a spicy component to the otherwise recycled plot.
Nothing special but the ingredients are well mixed.

Not sure what happened, but this didn't read like Piper Vaughn at all. It was drab, shallow, monotonous, and so very predictable it hurt.

Disappointing.

A pretty darn good May/December romance that was damn sexy!

Just a heads up....
-Yes they're 16 years apart
-Yes a guy sleeps with his 21 year old son's bestie
-Yes there was a bit of guilty forbidden-ness to it.

However, my only complaint about this book was Julian, Aaron's son, who served as the major roadblock to these two. He was seriously the biggest tool around acting like an immature, jealous ass. If you can brace yourself against infuriating behavior, then you have a lot of good coming your way.

Overall, a quick read with easily resolved angst and yummy smex. Highly enjoyable and perfect for when you want an age gap story with just the right amount of feels and hotness.

This was a fantastic collaboration between two authors whose books I've enjoyed. Two of my favorite tropes, the age gap and father falling for child's best friend, are represented and handled very nicely and realistically. Add in lots of sexual tension, some incredibly hot sex scenes, a bratty son and some real emotion, and a little bit of angst, there was nothing not to like. I'm hoping we get a peek at Aaron and Malachi in Hook, Line, & Sinker.

I liked the chemistry between Aaron & Malachi but that's about all I liked. It started out really slow and didn't pick up for me until about halfway through. The insta-lust was a bit OTT. They were practically mooning over each other before they even got to the lake house, and they'd only met like once 3 years before. Julian, Aaron's son, was an insufferable, irresponsible brat and it annoyed me how much Aaron let him get away with. Julian's complete 180 at the end was a little hard to swallow. Then there were lines like this: God, that laugh. Malachi had missed that fucking sound more than the waves crashing on the beach or hearing his favorite band live. Umm, okay.

I usually love OTT sweet, cheesy even, romances but this just didn't really work for me. It was just OK.

This was just the story I needed after reading a really difficult story.

It was a smoking hot “summer tale”!!
Aaron, a 37 old contractor is hiring his son Julian and friend/roommate Malachi, to help him renovate his parents vacation-home.

description

Aaron

description

Malachi

The attraction between Aaron and Malachi is immediately but neither dare to act upon it. Aaron because of the age difference..
The age difference was handled quite good. Aaron seemed younger because of all the “first’s” he missed out on because he had his son at such a young age. Malachi acted more mature for his 21 year old and had always been more attracted to older men than the one his own age. They were good together….

Julian acted really spoiled but at the end made up with it.

Enjoyed the story very much…

Dirty Talk, Age Gap, My Sons BFF, The Italian DILF and Naughty Brazilian (wait..he was brazilian, right?!) Hottie...oh and

COCK DOCKING! That had to be one of the best scenes eva!!

---finally getting to jot my thoughts down.---

Best Friends brother is one of my favs...why have I never read best friends father before?! Oh and Age-Gap...double yum!

While this book had plenty of sexy times it did have a nice story to go along with it. Aaron thought this was the perfect opportunity to do some bonding with his son Julian. It would have been a great summer had Julian not acted like a total douche for most of it. Damn I wanted to knock him out a time or two. Malachi, Julians friend and roommate didn't plan on going to the lake house and falling for his friends dad but somethings you have no control over. :)

Overall very enjoyable and I can't wait to read more by these authors!

*fans self from hotness*

So we have Aaron Costa, 37, all tall, dark and freaking handsome. His plans to remodel the family lake house for the summer completely changed when his friend bails on him and he has to call his son Julian, but by hiring Julian he also hires his roommate, Malachi...

Malachi as a broke college student really could use the job, and spending the summer with his best friend and his hot as fuck dad isnt going to be a problem. But he can only look at Aaron, he knows the clustershit that will come if he indulges. But their attraction becomes impossible to resist, specially when Julian starts bailing on the job, leaving them with even more free time.

“God, yes. There’s this beach
that’s been calling my name for days.
Who knows, you might get lucky,”
Malachi flirted.
Aaron pulled Malachi back to him
and kissed him breathless. “Oh, I’m
already fucking lucky, babe. Trust me.

The two share some hot as fuck sex and a deep connection but Aaron is scared of telling his son, not only that he's gay but that he's been with his best friend all this time.

And wasn’t that just awesome, seeing as that meant Aaron could only ever picture Malachi in bed, usually Aaron’s bed. Under Aaron.

one word... HOT HOT HOT HOT!

Entertaining short story and very very HOT!

I was fortunate enough to have to opportunity to beta read this book. Piper and Kade gave me the first 2/3 of it and then, while I was good and involved, they made me wait for what felt like forever for the rest of it! It is such a great book for these two authors. They are amazing individually and together they are out of this world good. You'll want to put this book on your TBR. I know I'm going to read it again when it is officially released!

I am always a major sucker for forbidden love. So the father getting it on with the son’s best friend, oh yeaaaaah!!
description

We have the delicious dad, Aaron. And we have the very hot best friend of the son, Malachi.
When Aaron asks his son, Julian, to help fix up his cabin over the summer, he is not prepared for Julian’s best friend Malachi to come along and help as well.
There is instant attraction between Aaron and Malachi. And that results in some hot flirting while trying to not let Julian know about them. Julian isn’t even aware his father is gay.
When neither of them can resist the desire to be with each other any longer, they do the most sensible thing, and give in.
description

That results in some hot and heavy sex! Damn, that was smoking!

But what happens when Julian walks in on them (on the pooltable, yeah baby!)…

That was one hot read! I especially liked the secretive flirting. O yes… those days… sigh…
My one big complain about this book was Julian. He acted like a spoiled 6-year old the entire summer when he was supposed to be helping Aaron. He was out partying and slacking off. I thought Aaron was way too lenient with him. And the 180 he did at the end when he found out about Aaron and Malachi… no not very realistic..

Still, a very hot story with a forbidden romance. Worth reading!

A solid four star read, I think. I enjoyed this story, aside from Julian...I have a thing about bratty immature entitled kids...I hate them...so for majority of this book, I was trying to find a unique ways to off this kid.
Anyway...I enjoyed Malachi and Aaron, and I appreciated that I got to see from each of their perspectives, their struggle with what they were feeling, what they thought they should do versus how they felt. We did get a bit of slow burn...it wasn't quite enough for me, but it worked overall.
There were some serious moments of hotness!

I loved Malachi's family! His mama was awesome!
Julian....
Would recommend, and I will read more from this author.

This is the story of a Summer! In this Summer there is an Italian DILF (Aaron), his son, and his son's Brazilian hot best friend (Malachi)!

So Aaron and Malachi made this Summer hotter, sexier, steamier and dirtier! They have a super hot relationship and I would like to know more about their future together, definitely!!!

Nice collaboration between Piper Vaughn and Kade Boehme, I liked Aaron and Malachi and how they handled their growing attraction to each other, the age difference between Aaron and Malachi never felt excessive. I love well written May/December romances (I still HATE that term) and this story was definitely one.

3.5. This was good and kept me engaged. It was also HOT. I'm not a fan of the best friend's dad trope and I'm not sure it worked here. Malachi and Julian (the dad's son) did not read as best friends. Roommates yes, best friends no. The dad/son relationship was well developed though (despite Julian being a fucking jerk throughout, I understood him but he felt very juvenile). I really liked both MCs and was rooting for them even though their relationship develops a lot off page: you can feel the UST and we see a few conversations but I wanted to see them work/banter together more. The end drama worked well to me. I wish we got an epilogue though.

My Review:

I liked this book. There were so many little details that made it such a great read. The setting...a huge house out on a lake for the summer. The visuals...hot, sweaty, sexy guys without their shirts and low-slung jeans while they work on the house...yes, please. The story...an interesting twist to this love story that really worked for me.

This book features three characters:
*Aaron...the dad. He owns a construction company and has told his parents that he will take the summer off to redo their lake house. He had Julian (Jules) when he was young and confused about his sexuality, so he experimented with his best friend. She got pregnant and they remain really close even after Aaron decided that yep, he's gay. It's not something that he spreads about, but he doesn't try to hide it either. He's never been in a serious relationship, so the subject has never come up between him and Julian.
*Jules...the son. As the only son and grandchild, Jules hasn't been deprived of much. He's also never really had to work for a living. Note...kids should never work for their dad's. Jules also likes to go out partying a lot so he leaves Mal and Aaron to pick up his slack...a LOT, which also leaves a lot of time for them together to get to know each other.
*Mal...the roommate and other half of this story. He has had to work for everything he's ever had AND he grew up working construction with his dad so he knows what he's doing. The two characters, Aaron and Mal have so much in common and just simply work really well together.

It was such an interesting (and impossible) dynamic. I got on Facebook at the 57% point and sent a message to Piper Vaughn about how worried I was...you could see it coming. This wasn't going to turn out well (btw, have I mentioned lately how much I DON'T do non-happy ending books?!?) But the two authors pulled it off and I loved the way that they wrote it. Just a brilliant ending to all of it...and right. Every single action that happened through the end felt real in that the characters kept their priorities where they should have been no matter how painful those choices were at the time. No spoilers, but I'm very happy with the ending.

It was a good book. I definitely recommend it. In fact, it would be a GREAT summer vacation type of read while you hang out by the lake and imagine those hot, sexy, sweaty bodies hanging out with you there. ;)

Aaron plans to spend the summer fixing up his parent's summer home so that they can sell it off. When his best friend get's himself injured and can't come with him, Aaron asks his son if he would like to spend his summer break from college earning a little money helping Aaron out with the house. While not his idea of fun, Julian likes the idea of the money and asks if he can bring his roommate along with him to help out. Aaron agrees that it would be nice to have some more help, even though he knows that having the hot younger man up at the lake house is going to be hell on his labido. But surely he can keep himself in his pants, and it's not like Malachi would want Aaron slobbering after him anyways.

Boy was he wrong about that. And as Julian shows up less and less to work, and Aaron and Malachi spend more and more time together, it is becoming obvious that something has to give. Whether it is their buckles or their sanity is not exactly clear.

I really liked this, much more than I thought I was going to. Maybe it was the older guy/younger guy dynamic, or maybe it was the fact that hot construction workers are hot, but this book did a great job of keeping me glued to my kindle.

This story was very hot. Not because of the sex so much as the tension between the two MCs. You could totally tell that they were hot for each other, even without having to say it. And I am a total sucker for age gaps, and this one is so good. There is some waffling near the end that got a bit annoying (I personally think that Julian is an adult and if he can't get the fuck over whatever it is that is his problem then that is his problem, not Aarons. But then again, I never had any parenting instinct, so I'm hardly the person to be giving out parenting lectures to anyone).

Had a lot of fun reading this and I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
