The Svensson Brothers #4

Between Her Biscuits

Rate this book

The world is a cold dead place.

You would think so too if you grew up in a polygamist cult.

Everyone was crazy—My father, his wives, my older brothers who abandoned me.

Though I can’t escape the crazy brothers, I think I’ve finally managed to find balance.

Until some crazy curvy girl storms into my restaurant interrupts my date and dumps the entire table's worth of food on me.

Sadie

I swear I’m not crazy. I just have a little problem. Ok, a big problem.

No, not the fact that my father and his girlfriend stole my identity and my college tuition money.

No, not the fact that I did not go to school for something marketable and am now unemployed.

I mean those are big problems but I have a huge problem.

I’m still a virgin at age twenty-four.

In hindsight, I shouldn’t have gone to a private all women college, but now I need a man, immediately. A big one, because like I said I have a big virginity problem

Parker seems perfect in his online profile. Rich, handsome, multiple PhDs, CTO of a huge company. ‘Til he stands me up and I see him on a date with another girl.

Yes, I freaked the f-out. No, jail wasn’t fun. And it also wasn’t fun when I showed up for my new job the next day to find out that, guess who, is my new boss.

But he is big—in more ways than one.

And I do have a big problem.

Common sense says to find anyone other than Parker Svensson with his scowl, his obnoxious boasting about his net worth, and his drool-worthy, washboard abs.

But when he offers to help me solve my huge virginity problem, well let’s just say I don’t want him for his brain, I’m only after his body.

This standalone, full length romantic comedy has no cliffhangers! It features plenty of steam, the largest selection of hot brothers to ever grace your e-reader, and a hilarious heroine!

This heroine is well beyond quirky and slightly accident prone. She’s a mess. She has poor hygiene, no self-esteem, and there is absolutely no way her boss would be attracted to her after some of those incidents, including one where he caught her outside of a bar, drunk, begging a strange man to take her virginity, then crying when the man rejected her.

I’ve read good things by this author but I don’t want to read about a heroine who is so pathetic that her only option in life is to be with the MMC.

I don’t understand why all of Alina Jacobs female protagonists have to be sloppy, unhealthy, stress eating, hysterical and broke hot messes. Sure, they can bake. But it’d be nice to see more characters like Belle or post-Hunter Meg who are badasses. Also, why are they all assistants? At least be a bit more creative and give them different jobs.

That’s probably why I prefer the Weddings series. Even though they are still often broke, at least they can run their own business and have a skill more useful than becoming a billionaire’s wife.

Also, I don’t like that she made the accomplished STEM scientist the marriage obsessed mean girl. Overall, even with her repetitive books, this one was a big no for me.

Grumpy billionaire/assistant (also virgin), small town w/off the wall characters, and hot amazing spice!
This is a series of brothers from a LARGE family where each book a brother will get their HEA.

I love this type of book. No angst, comedy, hot billionaires with hot spice thrown in. Nice and light. Is it for everyone? No. But it is my cup of hot chocolate. I don't want to be sad or anxious with the books I read.

I listened to the audiobook of this, and loved it! I think that hearing the voices gives you so much more as a reader. You really can feel the emotions. You connect much quicker to the characters as well. These narrators were top notch.

This is not the first book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However I think you will get more out of it if you have read the other books as you have met some of the characters before. But don’t let that deter you. This can be a stand-alone. But it will make you want to read all the other books!

This is a very entertaining story with a lot of laughs. Great characters. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book and which brother will be next.

Parker thinks that the world is a cold dead place because he grew up in a polygamist cult. He believes that everyone was crazy—his father, his wives, his older brothers. Parker can’t escape his crazy brothers but thinks he’s found balance. At least, until a crazy girl interrupts his date and dump the entire table's worth of food on him.

Sadie is a twenty-four-year-old virgin, which she views as a big problem so she decides that she needs a man immediately. She finds Parker online and his profile seems perfect. When he stands her up and Sadie sees him on a date with another girl, she freaks out and ends up in jail. Things get worse when she shows up for her new job and finds out that Parker is her new boss. Now she has to deal with him scowling, his boasting and his sexy body. Then he offers to help her with her virginity problem, she is happy to go after his body.

You will love this story with all of its chaos and characters. This book left me smiling and I think it will do the same for you! I definitely recommend reading this book!

Good, but not As good as the others

I like the book until it got to the kidnapping part. Why Sadie would believe that Parker would do that to her is beyond me.

Also, if anyone had the right to be angry it should’ve been Parker that Sadie would believe that about him. Also, she did not consider the source. Her rival Kaitlyn is not someone Sadie should have believed. Sadie knew that Kaitlyn had ulterior motive because she wanted Parker for herself.

The ending was a let down for that reason. It’s still worthy to be read, I just did not find it as good as the others. And the story was also too similar to the one with Mace and Josie. The workplace assistant, the coworker who is trying to sabotage them because she wants the hero, it could’ve been a little bit more original.

I also thought the brothers truly loved each other, but in this book they came across as not caring for each other. It was disappointing to see their relationships so hostile.

Still, overall I would recommend it if you are reading each book in the series it’s not a good idea to skip this one. And there are enjoyable and humorous parts.

I don't mind an author that works a formula or has some repetition throughout their books or series but this is getting to be a little too formulaic and repetitive down to the hot mess of a poor girl saying the same exact lines like "shoot you missed it turn around" and the billionaire taking her on a high end shopping spree. The spicy scenes are also almost interchangeable between the couples so far.

In addition I just didn't like Sadie's character or the whole plot line of being a virgin making you less of a real woman. It also made zero sense to me how Sadie could ever think Parker was involved in the kidnapping scheme and I hated her overbearing friends constantly trying to force her in tinder dates or decide she's moving to Manhattan etc. At least we finally got a gay couple even if the lesbian kept making innuendos and talking about Parker's hotness.

Despite my frustrations with this book I did like Parker and finally seeing a brother seem to be truly affected by their father and their earlier years. I'll probably keep reading the series because I'm a completionist and I sent to know what happens to the cult and you their sisters still stuck there.

Why is there always a delusional jealous girl trying to stake claim on a grown ass man? Why does everyone around her including the guy allow her psycho behavior?? I have no clue but apparently everyone in this series and every Svensson brother has a crazy gold digger stalker bitch who wants to take down our lovely heroine even if it means self sabotage. 4 books now of this shit. It's getting old.

What's not getting old is the juicy cult tidbits!! That alone could lead me to buy and read every single book and short story ever written about these brothers. Alina Jacobs could sell me 5 pages for $50 at this point.

I very much enjoyed Parker and Sadie's meeting. It wasn't cliché or unbelievable. I felt really bad for Sadie for being catfished. Sadly that didn't last long because I had to suffer through the whole "I need to lose my V-Card quest". I'm sorry I thought his was a book for grown ass people. I respect her being a virgin and wanting to lose it but the constant complaining and discussion was sad and I felt like I was reading a teen romance novel for a minute.

I am very happy that she had a strong friend group to rally behind her and support her but they were very immature as well. I don't' know any grown ass women who continuously give such shit advice.

Parker was pretty fucking hot. His backstory gave me the feels because he's the first to provide insight in regards to being left behind on the compound.

I liked that this is the first book where the girl doesn't fuck up. She doesn't have a big secret. While Hazel didn't either, there was still a fight, while in THIS BOOK, Sadie just gets pulled into Parker's shit. It was nice to see a change up is all.

I'm loving this series, I hope Alina continues to write. I really really really need Greg's story to be written. Just Sayin... Also Remy

Well, while I had my struggles with In Her Pumpkin Patch, I had no such issues with Between Her Biscuits! I was twinge worried there might be a repeat of my time with the last book because the heroine was a virgin and I’ve kind of grown out of the virgin heroine trope and don’t gravitate towards it on the regular, but I didn’t mind it with this book. Actually, I just didn’t want to ever stop reading, I was totally compelled to continue on. Between Her Biscuits was exciting and wonderful and I loved it to bits!

I haven’t gotten as much chuckles out of the last couple of books in the series as I did with with the first one, but by gosh, Between Her Biscuits definitely delivered on the humor and it felt like it was on the same level as In Her Candy Jar. I seriously laughed my butt off with Parker and Sadie’s story — it was a true joy to read. It was more of that ridiculous, over the top, shake your head, silly style that I can’t get enough of. Between Her Biscuits was so fun, highly entertaining, and I just had a rollicking good time with it. I’m so glad I decided to stick with the series instead of putting it off for awhile before picking it up again and I can’t wait to read the next book!

This one was Parker and Sadie's story. Parker had, to me, come across in previous books in the series as somewhat full of himself. He was very smart, but he made sure everyone knew or was reminded that he had two PhDs. He was humanized in this book as he and Sadie fell in love. Their first encounter was hilarious. The crazy banter between the adult brothers and crazy antics of the teenage and younger ones continued the trademark humor of the series. There was the requisite mean girl who sowed doubts and stirred up trouble because she wanted the Svensson brother for herself and couldn't accept that he'd clearly chosen someone else. For me, there was an excessive amount of sex scenes. After a while, I started skipping over them. We actually get to meet the psycopathic polygamist cult leader Leif Svensson in this book. Sadie's father is just as disgusting. One thing puzzled me: the only money that changed hands was $5,000 to Sadie, which was supposed to be a partial repayment of the hundred thousand dollars he had stolen and/or used forgery to run up debts and get loans in her name. So the accusation against Parker baffled me, unless it was a revenge ploy against him by the mean girl. Anyway, the entire situation was cleared up fairly quickly and the HEA achieved.

Attending an all-women’s college was not the best plan for meeting men. So Sadie is getting a late start in her search. She finds a man on a dating site, Parker Svensson, and heads off to the restaurant, but he never shows. However, as she is leaving, she sees Parker at another restaurant with a beautiful woman! Sadie pretty much goes ballistic, covers him underneath a pile of food, and is carted off to jail!

When a friend gets Sadie released from jail, she begins to look for a job, applying at PharmaTech. It is NOT smooth sailing when she finds out that Parker is her new boss – and wants her out of there! Will they remain volatile enemies, or will they get a chance to work things out and find something neither expected?

This is a cute, fast-paced comedy that you will thoroughly enjoy! The story line is funny, the characters are well-presented, and the dialog is great! Grab your copy and enjoy the wild ride!

Sadies dad stoke all her money , stole her grandmothers money including Sadie’s college fund and took out loans in her name to give to his cult! Sadie is desperately trying to lose her virginity and Parker is the one until...Parker and his brothers were raised in a cult and escaped! Now Parker’s family are billionaires and run most of the businesses in Harrogate.
When Penny is stood up on a date with Parker and then sees him on a date with someone else she is furious and confronts him while he denies knowing her. As if her humiliation isn’t complete when she goes to her new job the next day she finds out that Parker is her new boss!
That starts the funniest, most awkward, romantic and complicated book I’ve ever read! This was a light fun read! I really enjoyed reading about yet another Svensson brother in a family of many! I really loved this book and this series!

Oh, my word! This story is sweet, it’s funny, it’s spicy. It’s got the best of all worlds. I loved Sadie with her sassy yet shy attitude and clumsiness. Parker starts out as a prime jerk and alpha-hole, but we quickly learn that there’s a lot more going on under his surface, and still waters run deep. Together, this pair are practically unstoppable. I love that we get the chance to learn a little more about the very dysfunctional Svensson patriarch. There’s a lot going on in this book. Occasionally it felt like a bit too much, but it was never overwhelming and I didn’t ever lose track of the plot. As we learn more and more about the Svensson clan, I want to read even more. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book no matter whose it is.

She needs her cherry popped and then some

Between Her Biscuits is the fourth book in The Svensson Brothers series and it is a funny and entertaining as the previous books in the series. This time the story is about Sadie and Parker. Parker quickly learns not to stand a woman up on a date when she is determined to lose her virginity. But there is more to come for Sadie as after being arrested she finds herself the next day staring at her new boss who just so happens to be Parker. Now what to do, especially when she is still attracted to him.
This is a very enjoyable and fast paced story with a great story-line and wildly wonderful characters, both Sadie and Parker and all the supporting, including a baby goat.

I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Between Her Biscuits by Alina Jacob’s is the fourth book in the Svensson Brother series. This book is a hilariously funny contemporary romance that had me laughing at the quirky antics of the characters in the story. This book focuses on the relationship between Svensson brother Parker, who works as the head of scientific development at the family company PharmaTech and his new assistant Sadie. It is one of the funniest romantic comedies I have ever read and I couldn't put it down. I just had to keep reading until the very end of this wonderful happy ever after love story that features Parker and Sadie and how the town of Harrogate and all of Parker's brothers push these two together until eventually Parker becomes involved with Sadie and falls madly in love with her. This is the perfect romantic comedy to raise your spirits! Between Her Biscuits is a hilariously funny romantic comedy.

Sadie has a date in Harrowgate with a man she met on a dating site. His name is Parker Svensson. She waits and waits at the restaurant where they were meeting but he never turns up. On leaving the restaurant, she sees him in another restaurant with a beautiful woman. She loses her block, goes into the restaurant and confronts him. He ends up with his lunch all over himself and calls the police. Once Sadie is released from jail by one of her friends, she applies for a job at Pharmatech. What she doesn't know is that Parker's brother has hired him an assistant. Enter Sadie. He wants her removed immediately. What a another brilliant book in this fantastic series. Kids, kids and more kids. Cults. Baby goats. Sex toys. And don't forget the biscuits. Very, very highly recommended.

If you haven't read the other books with the other Svensson brothers, this will have you running to get them. It is a full-length book but the hilarity of everything, will have you not noticing the length. There are lots and lots of laughs with chaos between Sadie and Parker but also the rest of the brothers. It's a different dynamic and different family culture. It made me understand Parker's reluctance and self-doubt with how he was raised. The banter between him and Sadie is hilarious. There are moments where I felt lost or that the story was going ongoing with no end but luckily, the characters make up for that.

I love this author and the crazy stories dealing with food. This story is about Parker Svensson, the youngest of the first batch of Svensson boys. Sadie is a 24 yr old southern virgin who storms into Parker's life. We do see the return of many other characters through out this world. The cast of characters is one of the many great qualities of these stories. Ida is up to her old tricks, while Sadie and Parker try to figure out if they want to be together. There are so many laugh out loud moments in this story, I had all kinds of people looking at me funny while standing in line. If you are looking for fun funny romance books with some spice thrown in, you need to check out this story.

OMG!!! Another hillarious and sizzling hot installment in the Svensson Brothers series!!! If you've read the previous books, you know what to expect. Food-based innuendos, witty banter, sizzling hot chemistry, amazing character development, and equally amazing secondary characters (old and new) that will have you laughing out loud in the most inopportune moments (unless you know what you're going to read and make sure you're alone). Although this book is about Parker and Sadie, there's the secondary plot concerning the Svenssons' polygamist father, that adds a touch of mystery to the series. I can't wait for the next installment! More Svenssons, more Svenssons!!!!

Between Her Biscuits by Alina Jacobs. OMG! I just finished this book and I love, love, love it! Sadie and Parker are so everything and perfect for each other. I’ve read several books by this amazing author and she does such an incredible job creating a story that you just want to keep reading. At times, you become bombarded by all the Svennesons’ but they are charming, alluring, feisty, hot, and funny. The situational comedy had me snickering out loud (at work) routing for Sadie and Parker’s HEA til the end. As usual, I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment of the Svenneson clan. This was a nice funny read. Sadie and Parker had some really interesting conversations, a lot of innuendos thrown in all over the book. Her friends and especially Old lady Ida were amusing and made her seem lifelike. With trying to get enough money to pay off stolen loans in her name and star t her own business, this was filled with high jinks and fun moments. Loved the entire family of Parker and how he was with his younger brothers. I even liked the drama between him and his older brothers too.

A good read altogether.

The way Sadie and Parker met for the first time was hilarious and at first made me mad at Parker. Sadie was a mess, she had the worst luck. Kaitlyn starts out being the typical “mean girl” but then she becomes so much worse. I loved getting to know more about Sadie, Parker, and her friends. I could not believe the stuff with Sadie’s farther and the Svensson brother’s father. There were times that I felt really bad for Parker, how things from the past have really hurt him. There was some drama, forgiveness, and many sex scenes as usual. I loved the ending and cannot wait to read the short novella that this author always writes after the main book.

I actually liked this one a lot more than I thought I was going to. I gave it 4 stars because of her friends. She has crappy friends. The things they say to her about being a virgin and practically forcing her to lose her virginity are messed up. One of them even said something along the lines of “do you really think he will love you if he finds out you’re in debt? No.” The female lead was one of my favorites in the series and she should have way cooler BFFs. But all in all still a fun easy “read” (I’ve been listening to this series on audible. I call them my dirty dish delights lol It what I listen to when I do the dishes and clean)

Justice for Parker

It annoys me that cover art depicts Sadie as redhead when it’s canonically important that she’s blonde. I’m also getting tired of the employee/boss relationship trope.

My main review has spoilers.

I don’t understand how everyone is blaming Parker at the end when he had nothing to do with it. Parker unfairly became the punching bag for his family merely because he talked to his father. I understand Sadie’s reaction based on what everyone was telling her (she needs time to sort through the chaos that just happened), but I was confused how everyone was primed to believe Parker did it when there was literally no proof.

Between Her Biscuits by Alina Jacobs – This series is on kindle unlimited. I try not to judge, but 70% of her problems could be prevented if she stopped drinking. The other 30% would be resolved if she pressed charges against her father as soon as he stole her trust fund. But then we would have no book…I really like Sadie, so maybe she triggers my protective instincts! If slow burns make you scream to hurry up already, this one is going to make you pull your hair out. But it was worth the hype lol! Also why are there so many crappy parents in this series? Someone is going to have to grandparent all those kids! Happy Reading!

Whoa...i forgot how chaotic Svensson brothers are. They kept me on my toes and thoroughly entertained through everything. Sadies is a brave woman to put up one of them, let alone all of them. This book was full of laughs and outrageous old people. But who doesnt love Ida? Parker and Sadie were a perfext disaster from the start. Im excited to see which brotjer will fall next.
Happy reading!

This is book four in the Svensson Brothers series. This is Parker and Sadie's story. Sadie has only one thing to get off her list, her virginity. This does not go as planned but she does have one man in mind, Parker Svensson. Fate steps up to ensure that these two don't just get one night but can they turn it into a HEA? Another great read in the series, I cannot wait to read more of the series and get to know more of the Svensson family secrets. Enjoy!

Now I want biscuits!

Absolutely awesome, as usual! Alina Jacobs has fast become an instant pre-order/one-click for me! She is my absolute go-to for perfectly balanced rom-com reading! There is the absolute perfect blend of sweet, funny, drama, and steam in every one of her stories! Parker and Sadie's story is no exception. I started this book when I got up this morning and everything I meant to get done today had to wait because I could not put it down! Definitely a must-read, you won't regret it!
