Acts: Seeing the Spirit at work was a great study book. Before I thought I knew the book of acts well but now I know and understand it a lot more better. I see how God spread the gospel throughout the world. John Stott keeps this incredibly simple and focuses on the word of God for answers to all questions. I did one study a day and I really enjoyed the fact that I was reading the bible regular with this and saw many things which I lack myself. I would recommend to groups of individuals to do this study.
Used with one of the teens in my ministry. He wanted to learn about the book of Acts, so we went through this together. Good tool. Not extensive, but excellent as a helpful resource to anyone new to the book. Mostly focuses on assisting the reader in making observations and noticing details about the text.
I assume Stott's other books like this one are equally good. Good for one-on-one discipleship. Probably good for a Sunday School class or small group.
While I love Acts, this was not my favorite study material. To me this book was too cursory of the text. It's hard for me to really dig in and enjoy a book of the Bible when I feel like I have to speed read through it.
There was good history in this study which helped with my reading. Only half the questions were very deep. It was nice to have something to follow. I enjoyed reading the book of Acts more than the study. I think that's how it should be. :)
