Rate this book
YA sci-fi/fantasy with dragons, action, adventure, and heart. When teen pilot Khiry Okerson crashes on Eldora Prime, surprise proximity alarms still ring in her ears. She might have solved one problem saving the crew but she courts more danger than she realizes when she liberates unexpected hostages on a hostile planet. Will the dragons she releases become her allies? It's more likely they'll join the inhabitants of this unforgiving world to hunt terraformers and the Instigator's dwindling crew. About the author

Sandy Lender

35 books295 followers
After her reincarnation from a Kemp's Ridley Sea Turtle to a simple human female, Sandy Lender figured she had to do something that let her stay near the ocean or Gulf waters. Being in a sunny environment keeps the vampires on a tight leash, too. So Sandy lives in SW Florida where she edits a magazine for the day job, edits books for the evening job, and helps with sea turtle conservation on the weekends. She lets the companion parrots and the muse fight for her attention in between it all.

Her first novel from ArcheBooks Publishing, Choices Meant for Gods, was released March 2007. The novels, novellas, short stories, magazine pieces, and poetry have been ongoing ever since! Sandy has garnered a handful of technical writing awards, a handful of creative writing awards, some fancy nominations, and excellent stress-reducing meds over the years...

More sci fi horror than adventure

Problems wasn't the book I expected. The body count is excessively high (almost everyone dies, some of them gruesomely). The dragons are interesting but couldn't save the depressing story. The worldbuilding is good, and the story is well-written, but I won't continue the series, since the first chapter of book 2 appears to indicate a plague is involved.
